Really fed up of AF showing up month after month now 🤦🏼‍♀️ we've been taking the see what happens but dtd lots approach. But now going into month 7 so We've decided to use the clear blue opk's to see if it gives us a better chance. 🤷🏼‍♀️
Now to just wait for AF to disappear 😀

Any one else ttc #1? 😀

@Loops01 sorry for your and DH’s loss ♥️ good news about the SA, is your next step referral to a fertility clinic then?

If you’re ovulating today and managed to dtd the last few days, I bet you managed to cover it! I’ve got that book “the impatient woman’s guide to getting pregnant” and in it there was huge (thousands of couples) study done where couples were told only to dtd once on a specific day in a cycle and that was it, and there were absolutely no successful pregnancies from just ovulation day sex - they were all the days before. So don’t count yourself out!

And if it doesn’t happen this month and you have to take next month off, it’s maybe worth saying that I’m feeling bloody lovely in the middle of mine!!! Hope you’re okay xx

@rosiej95 hope the tww passes quick for you 🤞🏻

AZ1992X · 29/03/2021 17:37

@Loops01 sorry to hear that! Hopefully things will get better for you soon. Also, you never know if you’ve been dtd recently.

Got my fingers crossed for you all.

I’m back to the flashing smiley faces but based on last month my peak should be around Wednesday.

Loops01 · 31/03/2021 10:10

Hi, thank you all so much. Its tough but understandable. I am now 2dpo. Ovulated a day earlier than usual so I'm hoping the cycle is maybe a day shorter. My tracking has shown that every month I've got a 14 day luteal phase which is good but it really is a 2ww! Doesn't get easier. To be fair I'm not really on it this month. It's passed quick thankfully and I am not expecting miracles.
My DH had a phonecall with the gp about his SA results and the gp was so happy he said he should get a t-shirt made as they are really good results hahaha. Now starting to worry its maybe me if his little swimmers are that good. Cycle and body etc seem fine so no idea. I have to wait until June to get proper tests etc from the gp but if nothing this month and I can't do next month then I will just enquire early. Will let yous know. Good to know you are feeling better @Amy259!!! Did you get any action in around that time or have you just let if all this month? To be honest I've let my super healthy eating slip because I want more of my pleasures in life back. Had 1 or 2 gins which is not much but its also been difficult to have more. So it's a nice happy medium for me. Going to get fully back exercising next month and less of the putting the feet up in hope that will help. Feel like I've tried pretty much everything and it's not helped or worked so what's the point now?!

Did you get your static @AZ1992X?

Has anyone ever paid for tests to be done outwith a clinic or gp? I heard some good things about hertility but not actually bothered to try any as never know how accurate things are but apparently they are good and results can be given to gp.

Amy259 · 31/03/2021 15:28

@Loops01 fingers crossed with ov-ing early you’ve definitely covered it!
The break has definitely been good mentally, I think I’ll keep all groups/apps deleted except maybe Premom. I think I’ll be due to ovulate somewhere around Sun-Tues coming, so won’t be preventing dtd if it happens naturally (I would rather not dtd to avoid a 2ww, but with DH struggling with it all I won’t say no if he tries it on and just go with the flow) but won’t be scheduling it!

Brilliant news about DH’s SA but yeah can totally understand why you’d then worry. I feel the same - we’ve done literally everything. I’ve tracked, opks, bbt, taken UK version of mucinex, tried preseed, taken bromelin, you name it.. stopped alcohol all together now, and only 1 coffee a day. Was definitely starting to feel like what’s the point?!? Stopping taking pills (except prenatals) and temping has really helped to relax, those wee things are all such a reminder day in day out.

I haven’t tried any testing other than gp, but I do know someone who went private for SA/some other tests and then no longer qualified for NHS treatment because she’d gone private. Don’t know the ins and outs of it all though!

Hope everyone is having a good week x

AZ1992X · 31/03/2021 15:54

Hi all , hope everyone’s doing ok.

No static which means it’s not the same day as last month, really hoping it comes soon 😔. Starting to worry something wrong with my hormones as I keep getting high opks - booked a telephone appointment for next Friday with the nurse and hoping they’ll agree to do some tests to check my hormone level etc ! X

Loops01 · 31/03/2021 15:55

I am with you with the trying every little thing so let's hope just relaxing helps. Everyone says it does...pricks. Haha. I like to be the 'told you so' one and not others haha. Hopefully you manage to have some sort dtd even if it is just for fun! Doesn't happen enough when ttc it can get too scheduled! I have actually stopped taking the folic acid just now. I noticed I was getting more nose bleeds and I know i get a lot from diet and I have a genetic thing which means my body stores iron more than the normal so I thought f**k it, have a month off and see if the nose bleeds ease. Please don't leave this! I personally would like to keep in touch about your progress! Takes a lot of courage to take such a break so I'm impressed and excited to see what the future holds!

Loops01 · 31/03/2021 15:59

@AZ1992X are how many hughs you getting? With the easy@home ones they describe that just over half of women have gradual highs to peak then just less than half (which is myself) have rapid levels so only 1 or 2 highs then straight to peak. I think as long as you ovulate it shouldn't matter too much? Sometimes with the clear blue it would be empty face for days and days then go straight to static. I had to test about 2pm as I found the tests accurate around that time when the levels were higher. Don't know if you could try that? I had 4 clear blue tests in 1 day with 2 different results!

AZ1992X · 31/03/2021 16:51

@Loops01 maybe I’m just worrying and should stop reading into things too much.

This is day 8 high opk but just looked and did start testing 2 days earlier than I needed too based on my cycle length.
Last month I had 9 opk before my peak on the 10th day of testing but I started testing early as had no idea when ovulation was.

Struggling with my skin/acne a bit too but wonder if that’s just cause I’m worrying!

midwifeandttc · 31/03/2021 21:26

Hi everyone
I’d love to join. So glad I found this thread. I’m 27, TTC baby no.1 and just started my period which means we are now into Cycle 7. I am also a midwife which makes this so much harder. Every day I speak to women who either don’t want to be pregnant or fell pregnant accidentally, or within one or two months. It’s really starting to get to me Confused I had my coil removed last summer and since then have had fairly regular periods and positive OPK (clear blue advanced) showing ovulation day 13-16 usually. I am lucky that I have been able to have my progesterone checked (it was high, which is good) and also a scan of my womb and ovaries which was normal and showed I was about to ovulate. I’ve had my bloods done again today on cycle day 1 to check the quality of my follicles/eggs etc. So far there is nothing obviously ‘wrong’ but I don’t understand how I’m now into Cycle 7. Feeling really tearful tonight Sad

Loops01 · 31/03/2021 22:26

Welcome @midwifeandttc good to have someone with a bit of background into this. Has your OH been checked or have a good diet? I'm very jealous of all your tests! Should provide you with some comfort! Ovulation sounds good as well. Are you cd1 today then? There's been a couple of girls on here who got pregnant in cycle 7 or earlier. I think most of us are cycle 8 now but nice to have fresh blood!

midwifeandttc · 31/03/2021 22:40

@Loops01 thank you. I have no one to talk to about this as I have deliberately not told any of my colleagues or friends in order to avoid pressure/questions. I’m very lucky to have had the scan and bloods, I only managed that by confiding in one of the consultants at work who wanted to reassure me - she has been so lovely! It all does look good on paper but just can’t work out how I can have so much unprotected sex and not get pregnant... ugh. My partner hasn’t had sperm analysis as we haven’t formally been to GP as I think they won’t touch us ‘officially’ until 12 months. But he did have a pregnancy with his ex partner which was terminated - so technically I guess his sperm must be okay Confused i’m cycle day 1 today so period started in full flow today (spotting yesterday). how about you? x

rosiej95 · 01/04/2021 08:11

Morning all

@midwifeandttc can imagine your job so rewarding but at the same time frustrating when ttc 🙈
This ttc journey is massively lonely but this group has been a godsend!
We're here if you need a rant, or just a little chit chat ❤️

@AZ1992X ive read a few differant reviews on them now & have read a few people commenting about the flashy smiling for quite a few days, hopefully you get your static soon. I think if I don't get a bfp this cycle im going to change to the ones @Loops01 said about.
They are a lot of money to keep getting flashey smileys on 😕 hope your ok!

I'm not sure what dpo im on & tbf I quite like not knowing 😂 I'm not counting down the days until I test which is nice 😂
Ive been busy cause I'm back to work This month 🤞🏻 & were moving house to in the next few months so that's keeping my mind busy & helping with the 2ww 😂

Loops01 · 01/04/2021 08:33

@rosiej95 congratulations on the house move! Can be a stressful time but fun too, like a fresh start! If you enjoy your work then great also! If not then hopefully the move can be a big distraction.

@midwifeandttc I am into cycle 8. Similar to Amy above who is taking a welcomed break, I feel like I have tried everything but also can't get the gps to do anything more than the simple standard blood test.y cycles are roughly 30 days long with ovulation around CD17. Have used clear blue, now easy@home but I can also tell pretty accurately by CM. my DH SA came back and he has trillions of viable sperm and no issues what so ever which now makes me wonder about me although I just have that feeling that there's nothing I can do to change things. If it is a problem it'll be tubes or something. Never had a positive, a chemical nor a miscarriage. I'm 31 (as is my partner) and been off the pill for almost 2 years now (was still using condoms). I have recently told family and friends because it all became too much of a lonely struggle but the majority say the typical 'it'll happen when you're not trying' bs. If only life was that simple. I work really long shift hours which you may be similar? My partner is the same but we tend to be opposite shifts. The work situation is stressful mainly because of that but if I was pregnant then it'll all change and we would get a better pattern. I think cycle 7 was the breaker for most of us, I know certainly for myself. I am still trying but have given up on the fads they tell you that help and wanting to feel a bit more like me again. I hope you are okay. We can all do this and take it as a small pleasure that you know physically all is fine with the both of you. I think we all may be fine by the sounds of cycles etc it's just all 'time'. I hate time. I just hate hearing most how people who tried once and it happened. I actually wonder if some people lie about the length of time but who knows. The longer the wait, the more love we have to give. Has to be love because we certainly have no patience left haha

rosiej95 · 03/04/2021 12:14

@Loops01 I am really lucky I love my job.
I've just ordered some tests that should be here tomorrow 🙊
I've worked out that I'm 10dpo or 11dpo tomorrow & I'm pretty impressed with myself tbh I've usually tested by now 😂😂

How are you all getting on? ☺️

Aims1991 · 03/04/2021 12:29

So I'm now on CD 24! And had 8 days of flashing faces on CB! Had a day of feeling rotten yesterday and ended up sleeping for 8pm! Woke up today with the sorest boobs, AF due in just over a week 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

AZ1992X · 04/04/2021 07:49

Hi all, so no idea what’s happening but it’s getting me really down - this is day 12 of flashing. I’m giving up now for this cycle as it would have happened by now as it’s cd24. We’ve been dtd every other day just in case. Not sure if the digital monitor is off or my hormones are just all over the place! 😔

Aims1991 · 04/04/2021 09:02

So I woke this morning to do a CB and see if I still get a flashing face to find that AF is here 6 days early! This month is messed up🙈

Kipkay35 · 04/04/2021 09:53

Can I join!? Also a midwife, @midwifeandttc still no luck for either of us!
Month 7, 3 months of CB Ovulation kits, 1 miscarriage first cycle.
Fingers crossed for all of you!

Loops01 · 04/04/2021 09:59

If you are struggling with the cb I would try the easy at home. Last cycle (not this one) I had no flashies, I think it was about 17 days of empty circles which really broke me. I had been going to the toilet and knew my cm had changed so was still dtd but still empty circles. I did a test later that day and it was a static. Due to the upset it caused me I thought I'd try easy at home and was very unsure to begin with but with the testing a few times a day you really see the changes. Just thought I'd recommend as I was having cb issues last month.

@Aims1991 sorry to hear about AF being super early. Did anything change this month to bring it on?

Aims1991 · 04/04/2021 10:56

@Loops01 No nothing changed. A few days early I would think hmm ok! But almost a full week early with my cramp or anything I normally get before it🤷🏻‍♀️

Loops01 · 04/04/2021 11:19

@Aims1991 what length is your cycle this month? Very odd! Hope you're not too upset!

@Kipkay35 welcome! Sorry to hear about your early miscarriage. How are you finding the tracking etc?

Aims1991 · 04/04/2021 11:20

@Loops01 24 days! I have never been that early. I'm normally 31 days🤷🏻‍♀️ bit annoyed but used to it 🙄

Loops01 · 04/04/2021 11:32

Hopefully it's just a 1 off. Very strange! I know it sounds silly but defo AF and not just spotting or something?

Kipkay35 · 04/04/2021 12:41

@Loops01 I actually just started a new thread this morning about people's experiencing of tracking/ OPKs. As in, you hear of so many people who stop tracking send temping and get pregnant! The only month I didn't do any tracking I got pregnant. It's so weird. I'm wondering whether to do no tracking next month and just 'go with the flow'? Who knows!?
What are your experiences with OPKs and tracking?

Loops01 · 04/04/2021 13:03

I started tracking about 9 or 10 months ago just to plot my cycle more than anything. My apps were saying I would ovulate the average kinda cd14 when actually I was ovulating later CD 17 or 18. I used the cheap ones but didn't realise to begin with that the test line had to be darker than the control or found it difficult to interpret. So used the cb. Had 3 or 4 months of cb and found them pretty good as didn't have to try to figure out if a test line was darker or not. But then last month it just kept saying empty which upset me making me believe I wasn't ovulating. I knew from tracking my CM that I was ovulating, took a test later in the day and it was static. A friend tried the easy @ home ones and I've had 1 month and find them much clearer to read as you see the increase and decrease. However I still know from my cm so once I've finished this lot (probably have another month or 2 at max) I'm not going to test unless I feel like there are significant changes to my cycle (which there hasn't been in about 8 or 9 months). I have never done temping because I work a 10 wk shift pattern of roughly 3 or 4 different hour shifts a week so my sleep pattern is all over the place sadly. Tracking in general - my cycle has been the same for those 8 or 9 months. Never had a positive in any way but had a bunch of different symptoms at different times. Learned to just be healthy and not think into any of them. No known issues and dh has had his sa which had a glowing report. If you think no tracking/opks make things less stressful and it helps with ttc then do it! There's a girl on here that's taking a month off from really trying and she feels better for it so far which is great!
