Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

I’m starting to get flashes of real excitement now, like I can actually let myself believe this is really happening. I don’t know what to do with myself though.

Me too @Secretsquirrelisfedup

My symptoms seem to be starting now, kind of overnight. I slept 12 hours, my boobs are sore and I feel nauseous today for the first time. Exactly 5 weeks Monday so I hope that’s a good thing 🤞🏼

How far along are you all now?

X

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 13/02/2021 13:07

@daisyorange2 I think I’m roughly 5 weeks today (+/- 2 days).

daisyorange2 · 13/02/2021 13:11

Are you going to have an early scan @Secretsquirrelisfedup? I’ve got one at 8 weeks, time is creeping!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 13/02/2021 13:20

I’m not sure yet. I think if I’m feeling pregnant and there are no signs that anything is wrong then I might just wait for my dating scan at 12 weeks. I’ve never had an early scan because at the point it would have reassured me they wouldn’t be able to see much and by the time they would be able to find a heart beat etc I’ve really felt pregnant so not needed as much reassurance.

Leonberger · 13/02/2021 14:21

I’ve booked an early scan at 6+4 but I think I’m going to rearrange it for 2 weeks later when I’m 8+4, if they will let me change. I think getting it too early might actually make the waiting worse!

I’m so bloated today I can’t get any jeans on at all Blush

Lilbambinoplz · 13/02/2021 14:34

@Secretsquirrelisfedup
I had the window open last night and I was ok think it is hormonal thing.
I hope u manage to find a way that helps you get to sleep x

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 13/02/2021 15:06

@Leonberger in your shoes I think I would try to push it later too, maybe to the half way point between now and 12 weeks. Bloat-wise I’ve been living in comfy dresses so I don’t have to even try to get my jeans up. Partly lockdown related and partly pregnancy related bloat I think 😂. Are you feeling better today?

@Lilbambinoplz yeah it could be hormonal or increased circulation or both. Lol. I’ve been eyeing up a cooling mattress topper and I’m thinking a shower before bed instead of in the morning is probably a good idea.

Leonberger · 13/02/2021 15:14

@Secretsquirrelisfedup yes thank you! Just trying to keep myself as busy as possible for the next few weeks. I don’t think being unable to leave the house has helped as I’ve had nothing else to think about but I’m back at work from Monday!
I’ve still got mild cramps but no bleeding so I’m keeping everything crossed.
I think I’ll push the scan back if I can. I booked it thinking I can find out as quickly as possible and stop the worry but it seems silly because it’s still so early for a scan anyway! I could move it to 7+4 or 8+4, either would be better wouldn’t it.

Hope everyone else is feeling okay too!

Hoplop · 13/02/2021 18:36

Really struggling with eating healthily at the moment. I don’t feel nauseous at all but I just don’t fancy fruit and veg, or anything balanced and good! This isn’t like me at all and I am usually really healthy!

It doesn’t really help that I’m not moving as much - I’m (wrongly) terrified of exercising after the mc.

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 13/02/2021 18:53

@Hoplop I think you should cut yourself some slack food wise. Obviously try to eat well where you can but as long as you eat ok and take your vitamins I don’t think it’ll do any harm to lower your standards a bit. As far as exercise I totally understand but maybe try to make sure you have a walk in the fresh air for a decent amount of time every day. It’s gentle but enough to keep you moving and it’s better for mental health than not doing anything at all.

I feel your pain @Hoplop, I just want beige food at the moment!

whitershadeofpale · 14/02/2021 02:28

Has anyone else had terrible headaches? I’ve been really suffering for the past 3 days.

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 14/02/2021 07:18

@whitershadeofpale not me thankfully but that is supposed to be one of the most common symptoms at this stage. You can take paracetamol but avoid ibuprofen. If it’s still bad even with paracetamol speak to your doctor and they should be able to prescribe something else you can take.

OP posts:
whitershadeofpale · 14/02/2021 07:48

Thanks @Secretsquirrelisfedup I’ve been trying to go without taking anything but it’s been so bad it’s keeping me up, so I’ll have to get some paracetamol today (some essential oils did help a little bit last night).

Hoplop · 14/02/2021 10:32

@englishgirlinscotland that’s all I want as well! DH is cooking some Thai vegetable dish tonight for valentines and all I really want to eat is toast and chips!

englishgirlinscotland · 14/02/2021 10:55

@Hoplop oh no! Grin I've bought potato waffles for the first time in my adult life because I suddenly couldn't stop thinking about them! I hope you manage to enjoy your Valentine's dinner!

Leonberger · 15/02/2021 06:22

Well I’ve woken up this morning feeling rough Blush
Now to make it through a 14 hour shift!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 07:18

Oh @Leonberger what timing. Good luck and may the force be with you 😬.

OP posts:
Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 07:25

How’s everyone else feeling today? I felt completely normal yesterday, like every single symptom totally vanished, so obviously spent all day worrying but trying to convince myself not to worry. Then when I tried to get to sleep the sickness came back ten times worse. I’ve never been happier to feel so vile but also so annoyed at the timing because once again I got sod all sleep.

OP posts:
Hoplop · 15/02/2021 07:35

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I also had a nausea hit as I headed to bed last night. Doesn’t help that my neighbours have noisy wind chimes which keep me up so I couldn’t help but think about it! Although like you, I’m feeling some element of comfort from it!

Apart from that - my boobs are heavy and absolutely burning!

ElleL91 · 15/02/2021 08:04

I jumped on this thread last week as I had similar symptoms to OP. Took a test on Weds it's was negative but I didn't use FMU so was hoping it was a false negative.

AF is possibly due tomorrow (my cycle lengths are irregular) so decided to do another this morning with FMU as I couldn't sleep last night not knowing.

It was negative.

I'm absolutely devastated!! I really thought it was finally my turn to get my BFP.

Anyone who's got their BFP and been TTC for over 18m how do you keep going? I literally just don't see the point in trying anymore. I'm so fed up with being disappointed month after month.

Under a fertility clinic as well at the moment and need to loose about 2.5 stone before I can have my next appointment and then another 2.5 to qualify for IVF.

I'm so upset and all I want to do is stuff my face with chocolate and crap but I cannntttt I'm going insane!!!!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 08:38

So sorry @ElleL91. Both of my children took 12-18 months and this time we’ve been trying on and off for about 3 years, various things kept putting it on hold and I’d nearly given up then had a chemical and a miscarriage within 1 cycle of each other last year. I found that taking a break to get myself together and focus on getting healthy and looking after my mental health really helped. Flowers

Lilbambinoplz · 15/02/2021 08:46

I too was very worried yesterday as all symptoms disappeared, went to bed and my boobs were slightly tender but that's all trying not to worry myself silly tho x

daisyorange2 · 15/02/2021 08:47

So sorry for what you’re experiencing @ElleL91, we were trying for 8 months but had 2 losses before this and just had to keep telling ourselves it WILL happen as it’s intended to, and this was just our own personal journey. Not everyday was easy, but I tried to remain positive. Sending hugs 💕
