Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I’m a bit like you - feel like symptoms come and go. Tiredness has definitely picked up. Im actually still temping which reassures me as I had temp drops before my losses, but I’m not sure if I should just stop that altogether. Happy to be entering 6th week of pregnancy so my app tells me. No nausea really except if I go too long between meals (which I do because I don’t feel like eating anything at all).

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 11:03

I just made my booking in appointment with the midwife. I was so nervous on the phone. I’m 34 years old and I have two children already. How am I still bad at this stuff? 🙈

Lilbambinoplz · 15/02/2021 11:53

@Secretsquirrelisfedup this sounds like me haha
I'm also 34 I haven't rung my dr yet although we moved house and yet to register at our nearest one so have to do that first and the thought of it making me nervous 🤣 x

TravellingJack · 15/02/2021 12:23

Can I join? I'm at the stage of permanent nerves/excitement, just got a faint line this morning...

I had the copper coil removed in early January, period was then nearly two weeks late, so spent a lot of time googling if I could already be pregnant... of course I wasn't then, but looks like I may be now! Today was the earliest my period could possibly start on this cycle (I have PCOS so can be 3 weeks or 8 weeks long, so much fun Hmm) and I tested early as I have had pretty achy boobs for nearly two weeks now - normally they only ache for a day or two when I'm due on. I did a test last week that was negative (far too early really) but boobs have continued to ache...

I've had several miscarriages in the past decade (one DS who's 6) and I'm 39 so I'm not holding out much hope it will stick tbh, but it's nice to know it's possible! I did check due dates and it could be a Halloween baby which makes me quite happy as that's my favourite excuse for fancy dress parties Grin

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 12:54

Congratulations @TravellingJack 😁

Congrats @TravellingJack !

Is anyone else crazy like me and still testing? I just had a freak out about no symptoms so did another clear blue. Got 3+ weeks. Exactly a week ago it was 2-3, so that’s good news right?

I don’t know when I will feel like I can actually relax 😔

englishgirlinscotland · 15/02/2021 14:36

Congrats @TravellingJack !

Im exactly the same @daisyorange2 - just added more clear blues to my shopping list for Wednesday! It's just so hard because you want to be excited but there's so much uncertainty

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 17:21

@daisyorange2 I’m still testing too. I wanted to save my last digital for a 3+ but I caved and got another 2-3 because I took it too early (Friday or Saturday I think). I’m just using the strips I’ve got left now, every couple of days and if I have a panic in between. I’m not even sure why to be honest but I’m not planning on needing them again so I might as well use them up.

daisyorange2 · 15/02/2021 17:38

glad to know I'm not alone @Secretsquirrelisfedup @englishgirlinscotland when do you think you will stop? When you get the 3+?

I know I can't really go anywhere from here so have to stop! Not sure whether to book a scan for next week when I'm around 6 + 3 just for reassurance. Worried if I go and there's no heartbeat yet I'll freak out! Have a scan booked already for exactly 8 weeks.

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 17:45

I’m not buying any more digitals. I’ll stop when I run out of strips. Lol. I wouldn’t book more than one early scan unless you have a real reason to think somethings not right and 8 weeks seems like a good time to have one. I’ve got my booking in appointment with the midwife 3 weeks from today and I’ll decide when I get closer to that point whether or not to book an early scan the same week.

OP posts:
daisyorange2 · 15/02/2021 17:54

Ok @Secretsquirrelisfedup I'm taking your advice and not going to have any more than the 1 early scan. No reason to think anything is wrong, tests have gone up in weeks exactly every 7 days, temperatures still high, no bleeding or cramps... it all seems to be going so well and I don't feel terrible either - that's probably why I'm panicking!

I did a self-referral to the midwife but haven't got my booking appt yet, assuming I'll get my letter in the post this week. I think then it will seem more real and exciting.

How are you all approaching telling family / friends? I've told a few close friends but no family yet. Trying to hold out as I don't want them to worry after our history.

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 18:06

I’ve told my mum and one of my best friends who understands everything we’ve been through already and is good at keeping secrets. We’ll be telling everyone else once we have our 12 week scan starting with closest friends and family who are better at keeping it zipped till we post an announcement on social media ourselves then just before we plan to post on social media we will tell the rest of the family who are more likely to blab and hope we beat them to it 😂

Hoplop · 15/02/2021 20:04

I’ve had confirming of doubling blood hcg which is a huge relief! Given how recently I had an ERPC, we needed reassurance that this is a new pregnancy and not still positive from before.

Leonberger · 15/02/2021 20:09

I’m 5+5 today, was going to try and make it to 6 weeks before phoning the GP. Does it matter when we do it as long as it’s before 12 weeks?

I’m also still testing, using up the cheapies Blush

I had to tell work unfortunately due to the nature of the job. Wish I hadn’t had too though!

Sounds like everyone has had a positive day!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 15/02/2021 20:17

@Hoplop that’s brilliant news. I’m so happy for you.

@Leonberger not sure about other trusts but the one I’m under aim to do booking in appointments with the midwife at 8 weeks and at that appointment the midwife books the 12 week scan. I think I waited till around 6 weeks to make the appointment with my DD and I was going to do the same this time but I rang today as I had seen other people struggling to get an appointment in time.

Lisyloo725 · 15/02/2021 20:54

Oh amazing @Hoplop that sounds very reassuring!

Sorry I’ve not been on for a while girls! I turned off my notifications and errr didn’t see that there were so many new messages! I’ve enjoyed catching up on the news and developments tonight.

I read one post about pain/aching/odd feeling uterus after weeing - me too!!! Odd isn’t it! It’s not like I’ve held it all day or anything... 🤔

I haven’t done any more tests since the one I did on my AF due date. I have some cheapy boots ones in the cupboard but I don’t know what I’d do if it came back faint.
Just under a week til my early scan (though, as others have mentioned, I really hope there’s a heartbeat - if not I’ll be a mess - but hopeful if there is a baby in the right place that’s about the right size 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This will be our third - and I have a boy and a girl already - who were both surprises (in the sense we didn’t define our the gender). We plan to find this one out - and look forward to gleefully getting rid of a whole load of one gender of clothes that we’ve kept!!!
Stay calm everyone! X x x

Lisyloo725 · 15/02/2021 20:58

Hehehe sorry forgot to update of symptoms:
Feeling super tired. I sleep really deeply.
Boobs quite sensitive around nips. Have enlarged.
Every evening I feel almost shakey/ feverish - I’m thinking it’s dog-tiredness! Feeling slightly nauseous- in waves.
Hope you ladies are feeling ok!!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 16/02/2021 10:16

Morning lovelies, how are you all today?Glad you’re still here @Lisyloo725 😁.

OP posts:
jades132 · 16/02/2021 11:03

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I've got a constant ache/pressure/sensation that I have a UTI coming in the lower pelvic/vaginal area like @Lisyloo725 mentioned. It's very odd. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about.
Other than that I feel totally normal maybe ever so slightly more tired.
How are you? Xx

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 16/02/2021 11:21

@jades132 As long as it’s not really intense it is totally normal I’ve not had it as much this time but I had it constantly with my DD for a good few weeks. My midwife told me it was likely to be a combination of the uterus stretching and increased blood volume.

I just feel permanently nauseous and foggy headed like travel sickness plus completely knackered. I’ve also developed an addiction to Bovril on toast which is odd 😂.

I currently want to eat everything in sight Blush

daisyorange2 · 16/02/2021 11:25

Morning ladies!

Lovely to see everyone on here and things progressing well for us all.

I am feeling good, symptoms come and go but mostly now feeling it in my stomach - so much gurgling, gas and massive bloat that looks like a bump. I remember my friends saying they felt their bump was bigger at 6 weeks than it was at 12 because of the bloating and hormones! Anyone else feel like an inflated balloon?

whitershadeofpale · 16/02/2021 11:32

@jades132 I had that last week and even had some bicarb as I was convinced a uti was on the way. It’s died down a bit now but still feels a bit more sensitive than usual but it’s a hard sensation to describe.

@daisyorange2 I’m so bloated that I had to undo the top buttons on my jeans yesterday. I felt a bit crampy this morning which worried me but I think I’m just overly cautious because of a previous MC.

whitershadeofpale · 16/02/2021 11:33

Is anyone else experiencing really dry skin/lips despite drinking lots of water?

daisyorange2 · 16/02/2021 11:41

@whitershadeofpale yes me too on the dryness! Especially when I wake up. I also feel dehydrated even though I am on about 3-4L of water a day because I am weeing constantly.

I think the cramping is super normal. A lot of us on here have unfortunately had MC so I think we're all on super high alert. I hope we can all start to relax soon after scans and more time passes.

xx
