Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

@Leonberger that's a super dark line! Congrats! Also nothing wrong with being the crazy Tesco test lady- by the looks of this thread there will be lots of them, myself included!

LAgeDeRaisin · 06/02/2021 08:21

@daisyorange2 no wonder you are stressed and worried about it with your previous losses, but there's no reason this one won't be a happy, healthy pregnancy. Symptoms in early pregnancy often fluctuate a lot and aren't a reliable measure of how your pregnancy is going- you have a great positive result, and I'm sure your wee bundle is happily growing a tiny placenta as we speak. X

LAgeDeRaisin · 06/02/2021 08:25

I'm now 9dpo (7 days before missed period)
Tested again with FMU and think it looks a bit darker than yesterday (bottom one is from today)

Thank you @LAgeDeRaisin 🙏🏼 I wish I could just click my fingers and be 6 weeks - just getting to that mark would reassure me so much. Xxx

daisyorange2 · 06/02/2021 08:41

Definitely darker @LAgeDeRaisin! 🤩 I do think 2 day wait makes the biggest difference. Posting my 8, 10, 12 DPO attached for your opinions. 12 is SMU, 10 is FMU. What do we think?

Really dark lines there on your last 2! I couldn't have waited 2 days because I was desperate to check, but I'm just pleased it has got a little darker (I think the difference is bigger in real life too)

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 06/02/2021 09:02

Morning you lovely lot. @daisyorange2 yes I would say that stopping testing once you’ve got a dark line is wise, especially if testing is stressing you out.

In general I think testing every day isn’t a good idea. Testing every few days till you get a strong positive can give you reassurance that things are going well but testing too close together can see levels go down as well as up as the hormone levels don’t always rise fast enough to offset things like different levels of hydration, differing length of time that urine has been in the bladder etc so can have the opposite effect and cause unnecessary stress.

Symptoms can definitely fluctuate too, if all your symptoms disappear all at once it can be a sign that things aren’t as they should be but it can also be absolutely fine. The hardest part is the early days before you’ve had a scan and before you see the first signs of a bump or feel movement. It does get easier.

With my daughter (now 5, adorable and thinks she’s my boss), the only test I took was barely there. I had two weeks of intense nausea, exhaustion and killer boobs (whilst on our first holiday with our toddler so that was fun), then my symptoms completely disappeared for a week and everything was absolutely fine. I was a bag of nerves till I started to feel her kick though and I wish I could go back and enjoy that time in my pregnancy.

Sorry for rambling.

@LAgeDeRaisin I know I am the worst for waiting - I take them multiple times a day even! I know that I won’t see a big difference and I do it anyway 🤣!

Thank you for the reassurance x

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 06/02/2021 09:08

Just to ramble even more, I was planning on testing again in a few days with DD but by the time I had planned on testing my symptoms were in full force so I didn’t feel like I needed to anymore.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup thank you so so so so much for your long message. That’s exactly what I need to hear.

I think once I go past this mini milestones of where I lost it before my anxieties will lessen. It’s so tough though.

Love that you have a little girl boss! X

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 06/02/2021 09:18

Glad that helped you @daisyorange2. I know exactly what you mean about getting past the milestone. I feel exactly the same but I am really trying to reign myself in and not get too stressed or obsess too much because I know how bad that can make you feel on it’s own without things actually going wrong. I’d say the stress from obsessing is almost as painful as the worst actually happening.

Is anyone doing anything nice this weekend?

OP posts:
Lisyloo725 · 06/02/2021 21:58

@Secretsquirrelisfedup we ordered sushi this evening (last hurrah - as we thought lots of people don’t even know they’re pregnant yet!!) it was yummy but feeling like I have a baby bulge already hahaha! That’s the highlight. More walking in the wilds tomorrow, getting muddy. Bathing kids mid-afternoon and washing their coats...again..!

Is this baby anyone’s third? X

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 07/02/2021 08:13

Morning everyone.

@Lisyloo725 that sounds lovely, we are going for a welly walk today I think and it’s number 3 for me too 😁.

I feel bloated too.

Still no other symptoms. I’ve never wished to vomit so much in my life GrinGrin

Nothing exciting for us this weekend, self isolating once again!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 07/02/2021 10:19

@Leonberger it’s ridiculous isn’t it. If/when morning sickness does kick you spend half the time wishing for a bit of relief from it then if it does ease off you wish for it to come back.

OP posts:
daisyorange2 · 07/02/2021 13:27

I haven’t got many symptoms either! Veiny boobs, sore nipples and not sure if this is one by my body, mouth, everywhere (yes everywhere) is sooooo dry. Like the Sahara dry. 😂😂😂. I don’t have nausea as such but I just don’t feel like eating anything - and I love my food!

How’s everyone else feeling?

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 07/02/2021 15:01

Well I’m sat here sobbing at a programme on channel 5 about a couple who quit their jobs and started a goat farm. I can blame that on symptoms can’t I? 😭

LAgeDeRaisin · 07/02/2021 15:50

Peeing 5000 times per day and expressing a lot less breastmilk :(

Lisyloo725 · 07/02/2021 19:17

Goodness - good going @LAgeDeRaisin !
@Secretsquirrelisfedup - definitely... a goat fam sounds like a great idea actually - I hate my job!
@daisyorange2 - I’m the same as you - no nausea but feel off things. I went off meat in my two pregnancies last year (MC and ectopic) - which I seem ok with this time - just don’t want much!!
Really missing the wine/disaronno tho 😳🤪
In terms of symptoms - I just feel tired beyond belief. I slept 11pm-10:20am last night. And still feel pooped. Right boob a bit sore - feels like it’s got a small milk feed in there if I investigate and press it a bit 🤔

Lisyloo725 · 07/02/2021 19:19

Just thinking @LAgeDeRaisin do you need to take on more fluids? Might be something to try? I’ve never fed and been preg at the same time, so ignore me. Just thought if you’re peeing loads cos of new preg you’re poss short of fluid for milk 🤔

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 07/02/2021 20:50

I was wrong about my boobs. They are not worn in they were just a bit behind and now they are extremely hurty. On the plus side it does set my mind at ease I definitely can’t persuade myself I’m imagining that.

OP posts:
LAgeDeRaisin · 07/02/2021 21:57

Drinking lots of fluids- hoping it's a temporary blip as DD is just under 11 months and for the first time the last couple days I've had to introduce some formula. Was hoping to manage with breastmilk but I suppose I should be proud of getting this far. She does eat well but gets through a lot of milk.
Can't face going back to 8 expresses a day - and it'd be impossible now I'm back on the ward anyway

Anyone else feeling totally knackered?

LAgeDeRaisin · 07/02/2021 21:58

@Lisyloo725 solidarity

Hoplop · 07/02/2021 22:42

Anyone else getting bedtime nausea? Fine all day and then 8-9pm it hits!
