Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

Hi @Lilbambinoplz glad you’re still here. How far along are you now?

@Hoplop what time is yours? Mine is at 11.15am, I can’t believe it’s finally nearly here 😬.

@Lisyloo725 my mum already knows because she’s my best friend and I tell her most stuff. She’s really happy and excited. My Dad on the other hand as much as I love him is a grumpy judge git who has a completely different outlook on life to me and I already know he won’t approve at first because it isn’t optimum financially. I’d much prefer to be happy than rich. I might let my mum tell him actually 🤣

@Secretsquirrelisfedup it’s at 9:30. Managed to get DC into nursery for the morning so DH can come which will be nice. He wasn’t able to attend for any of the appointments or scans when we had our loss in December so I’m grateful he can come today!

@Lilbambinoplz exactly 13 weeks today if the early scan was accurate. I won’t be surprised to be put back a little bit though.

All good! Put slightly ahead at 13 + 2 so EDD is 11th Oct.

Scan went really well. Apparently baby is measuring at 13+3 but I’m pretty sure that’s not actually possible from the dates of things. I do have big babies though. I can just see it’s little face profile in the picture. I’m so happy and so relieved. 😁

Wow we are all ahead!! So happy for you ladies @Secretsquirrelisfedup @Hoplop - I feel like we have been such a lucky bunch. So grateful!

I can’t wait to see baby again in a few weeks and the gender scan and hopefully get a better (and longer) look! Did anyone else feel it was so rushed? Our little one was doing flips so couldn’t see much detail but so pleased it’s happy in there!!!

@daisyorange2 it did feel rushed compared to my 12 week scans previously although I did have to go for a walk and a jig about mid way through as baby would not cooperate to get measurements and was asleep. The midwife afterwards was lovely though and quite happy got me to ramble.

Happy for me to ramble. I hate my phone keyboard.

Good morning lovely people. I’m in such a fantastic mood today. The relief after the scan is amazing and It’s actually been really nice telling people this time. I was dreading it because I feel really awkward having attention on me. My extended family are dotted around all over the country so it’s been absolutely lovely catching up with them and having good news to talk about rather than just lockdown and COVID life.

The sun is out, and it’s not feeling like Iceland here today - all is well with the world!!!
The cold these last two days has been unbearable 🧊

@Lisyloo725 it’s lovely weather here too today. The last few days the weather has been bizarre. The front of my house faces directly south and is in full sun all day and my back garden directly north and in full shade. The kids were playing in the back garden wrapped up like it’s winter because it was icy out there and at the front it was T-shirt weather and I was really warm when I was tidying the front garden. It has also been alternating between warm sun and actual snow.

I know what you mean @Secretsquirrelisfedup about having something different to talk to family about. We’ve all done nothing but work and walk so conversation has been v. repetitive with DH’s parents until we told them yesterday!

We had quite a negative reaction from family the last time around about having a baby in ‘instability’ (living and renting abroad on temporary secondments, moved back when DC was 8 months). It was nice to experience some joy with sharing news this time!

So glad everyone is feeling the happy vibes after our scans 😊 I feel soooo much more relaxed now!! Am I right in thinking if I don’t get a call by tomorrow then I can assume my results were low risk? (Lol will the worrying ever end!) my NT measurement was very low and I’m only 28 so I’m acrually not worrying but just curious and wondered from experience if you ladies knew what I should expect. The hosp said a high result would have a call ‘in a couple of days’ and my scan was 9am Tues.

@daisyorange2 yeah I’d say if you haven’t heard anything by tomorrow then your results are highly likely to be low risk. I don’t think we can base anything off previous experiences at the moment though tbh because COVID has sent everything a bit out of whack. They do still seem to stick to the timescales they set though and they would say if it was taking longer to get results.

@Hoplop I was expecting some negative reactions this time with it being my third and in the middle of a pandemic but everyone we’ve told has been so happy. Even my dad wasn’t negative, he’s happy I’m happy which is nice. It’s such a huge relief and it’s an amazing feeling to hear so many happy reactions. I’ve got a serious case of the warm and fuzzies 😁

Thank you @Secretsquirrelisfedup so lovely you are feeling the love! I keep staring at the scan picture, can’t quite believe that is inside me moving around and I can’t feel it! So surreal in the best possible way 🥰

@daisyorange2 me too. You’d think I’d be used to it on the third go but it’s just as surreal and amazing this time as it was the first time.

I’m really glad we are all getting towards or past scan time now and that we are all feeling happy and more relaxed. It’s lovely sharing the good bits together as well as the nerves, worry and sickness etc.

Is anyone up for sharing scan pictures?
