Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

Ahh nice to look on here tonight and hear the updates!!
@Secretsquirrelisfedup interesting to read you think the pregnaxare max adding to dodgy feeling. I get that too. They kinda repeat on me! Sorry tmi

I am 11 weeks today and have another two weeks to wait til my scan (I have had three tho so can’t complain!!) but I have my booking appt tomorrow!
My hospital told me pregnancies are up 10%!! Quite the boom in my area!!!
My sickness has all but gone and I’ve been feeling a bit less tired. Also bloating seems to be subsiding and I don’t feel quite so porky as I did. I do have a fair bump tho!!
We got our panorama test results back yesterday and all is well genetically so very pleased. We got the gender too.... I’ve never known the gender before birth before (I have one of each).....what do you recommend- tell people when we share the pregnancy or not? 🤔

Lisyloo725 · 25/03/2021 19:57

Really good to hear everyone is ok!!!!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 26/03/2021 09:55

@Lisyloo725 I think I can confirm the pregnacare max are not for me. I stopped taking them again and I feel quite a bit less rubbish every day. I’m taking feroglobin liquid instead as it has folic acid in and gentle iron vitamin c complex which I seem to absorb better.

I’m so pleased for you that the tests went well. I don’t think anyone can really advise you whether or not to let other people in on the gender or not. Both ways have pros and cons but it’s totally down to how you feel about it really. I found out with both of mine at the 20 week scans and told everyone with my first because it was 100% that he was a boy as he flashed us during the scan. With my daughter it wasn’t as certain as they couldn’t get a good view but told us they were 80% certain she was a girl and we decided to keep it between us and not take it for granted that she was a girl until she was born. I think I preferred keeping it between us and surprising everyone. I’m not totally sure though, as I said both ways have pros and cons.

Good morning everyone. I finally feel human again and it’s glorious. I’ve got quite a bump developing already too which is getting harder and harder to hide.

How are you all doing? X

OP posts:
Hoplop · 28/03/2021 15:56

@Secretsquirrelisfedup glad to hear you feel a bit more human! I’m with you on the expanding bump being hard to hide...

Currently struggling to stay awake past dinner time which isn’t ideal in the middle of a house move with full time work. I was looking forward to annual leave next week but it looks like it will be a mixture of napping and unpacking!

Lisyloo725 · 28/03/2021 17:47

Oh how exciting @Hoplop !! Moving is fun but SUCH hard work!!!!
I’m floored again by the tiredness!! I slept 13h last night and have been sleepy all day!!! Ready for sleep again now!! I was hoping this would get a bit better!
I inadvertently told a friend the gender today as I made comment on using my PINK buggy - it’s a bugaboo bee and it’s broken - and to buy the bits it’ll be £250 so maybe I’m best with a new one...

Leonberger · 28/03/2021 21:20

Good luck with the move @Hoplop! We moved last year it was traumatic but worth it Grin

My sickness is improving and I’m not so tired but it’s been replaced with aching/cramping and mild backache. Not sure what that’s all about! Only 2 days until my scan though so counting down to that is keeping me sane.
I’ve also got quite a bloated stomach going on! Good job my uniform is baggy!

Srh87 · 28/03/2021 21:26

Any advice will be appreciated, first time I’ve seen a line since suffering a miscarriage, however I’ve now light spotting and it’s worrying me I really want this to stick is it a positive?? I’m around 14dpo

Hi @Srh87, I can definitely see a line there. Spotting at the time your period is due can be completely normal in early pregnancy. Are you feeling much cramping? In your position I would be taking folic acid but testing again in a minimum of 2 days if you’re going to stick to the same tests. Your tests don’t look like mega sensitive ones though so you could get either FRERs or more sensitive strips (I find easy@home strips as sensitive as FRERs and they are £8 for 20 on Amazon) which should give you a clearer line.

I’m crossing my fingers for you that this sticks. Good luck. 🤞

Srh87 · 29/03/2021 09:57

Hi @Secretsquirrelisfedup I’m glad someone else could see the line, I’ve ordered some of those tests as well as the frers they should be here today so I’ll see what they come up as. I don’t have a lot of cramping I suffer from endometriosis so I’m used to a lot of pain but this isn’t much just the spotting which is of slight worry to me, I’m taking the folic acid have been since trying to conceive. Thank you hoping this sticks too!

Jelly2017 · 29/03/2021 10:54

Morning everyone,

1st time commenting here - I hope you're all well!

😊 just a little bit of background I've had 2 previous miscarriages between 5-6 weeks. My last was in September 20 and we have been trying to conceive since.

Last night I got an urge to test as I'm due on in 3 days (although we had took a break from trying last month so we could enjoy summer/post lockdown without any worry) low and behold there was a line - praying praying praying this is our time! Should it be stronger and more bold at this point?! Sorry I'm so nervy! It's also such a shock because I really didnt think it would be happening especially with us taking a break until the end of summer x

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 29/03/2021 12:40

Hi @Jelly2017, congratulations. In the early days I don’t think anyone can really say how dark the line should be at a certain point. The range of normal hcg levels for each week is quite varied and the darkness of the line can depend on so many things like how diluted your wee is, sometimes you might have ovulated a bit later or it could be that the fertilised egg takes a bit longer to implant etc. Your hcg isn’t usually at guaranteed blazing line levels till you’re a couple of weeks late for your period. It can be reassuring to retest after a few days though to see if the line gets darker but you need to make sure you test at the same time of day preferably with first wee of the day before you have anything to drink to cut down the variables. I wouldn’t test every day because the hcg levels don’t rise that fast and it can have the opposite effect to reassuring you. Wishing you luck for it to stick x

OP posts:
Leonberger · 29/03/2021 12:55

I remember my line was very faint at first @Jelly2017. DH didn’t even believe it was there!
It gradually got darker over a week but I used another test from the same pack to judge it.
Once I hit 8 weeks it started to get lighter again though so I’m not sure it’s that reliable.

I’ve got my scan tomorrow. Stressed!!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 29/03/2021 13:05

It’s crazy how fast your 12 week scan has come around @Leonberger. Exciting times. I hope it all goes well for you. I’ve got another week and a bit to wait yet. X

OP posts:
Hoplop · 29/03/2021 20:01

Will be thinking of you tomorrow @Leonberger!

General question - how completely exhausted do you have to be to phone in sick? I haven’t suffered hugely with sickness at all and haven’t had to miss work yet, but I’m so completely exhausted I could barely function today Confused

I probably won’t because the guilt won’t be worth it and I have annual leave next week.... but at the same time, I’ve spent everything I’ve got (energy wise)!

Leonberger · 29/03/2021 20:49

Thanks both of you! I’m so nervous and have been sore/crampy all day which isn’t helping but trying to be positive!

@Hoplop I’ve been off work sick for 3 weeks now Blush

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 30/03/2021 03:29

@Leonberger I just read that 12 weeks is when your uterus moves up out of your pelvis which can cause cramping as everything shifts.

Soph011 · 30/03/2021 16:35

Hi, so just after a bit of advice. I’m currently 12 days late on period . I am also never ever late or miss a period, 31 days between cycles . Last period was 18/2/21. I’ve done some tests , FREP CB , strip tests etc . And the last day or so I swear I can see the faintest of lines . Is there a chance of pregnancy? Did anybody else’s test not test positive until way over ? I’ve been having symptoms ; aching & sleepy etc . Just after a bit of hope 😩 AnY sort of advice pls xx

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 30/03/2021 19:49

Hi @Soph011 I haven’t personally experienced that and gone on to be pregnant and I don’t personally know of anyone who has so I can’t personally vouch for it but I have heard of it happening. Maybe you just ovulated late this month but I think in your shoes I would speak to my GP to see if they can look into what’s going on. Good luck x

OP posts:
Soph011 · 30/03/2021 19:52

@Secretsquirrelisfedup . Thank you for your reply ! Yes I think maybe ovulated late I've read on line but it's hard to tell as I've never really track when I ovulated .. is it common for people to test positive at the 2 week mark of missed period or is it usually before hand? I'm 21 so don't have a clue about this , first experience of it . Sorry for all the questions 😂xx

Leonberger · 30/03/2021 19:56

Well the scan went well. One healthy looking baby measuring 11+5. Also had bloods etc but all tests looked normal so far. So relieved and hoping for an easy time from now!!

Could you maybe go for bloods @Soph011 that might make things clearer for you!

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 30/03/2021 20:13

Lovely news @Leonberger 😊.

@Soph011 it’s honestly not an exact science. Depending on what tests you use most people get a positive test by the day their period is due. A lot of people get a positive a few days before their period is due with the more sensitive tests but there are also people who don’t see a positive test till after their period is due which could be due to a few things like late ovulation or low hcg levels. Tests are usually more accurate taken first thing in the morning before you have anything to drink because the hormones have had time to build up in your wee and they aren’t overly diluted. If you can’t get a definitive answer from a home test the GP can do blood tests and send you for scans etc if necessary to find out what’s going on. X

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 31/03/2021 09:51

Good morning everyone. How are you all doing? I’m 12 weeks today if my early scan was accurate and it feels like a massive milestone. Still a week to wait for my scan but I feel so much more relaxed today. The beautiful weather helps too.

daisyorange2 · 31/03/2021 16:38

Hi ladies! Wow I have missed so much - I wasn’t getting email notifications anymore, not sure why. So happy your scan went well @Leonberger and happy 12 weeks @Secretsquirrelisfedup! My scan is 6 days away and I am 12 weeks on Saturday, but I am panicking now!! Our 8 week scan was great and she did so many thorough checks and actually said ‘I think you have nothing at all to worry about’ and it made me feel loads better but now we’re approaching another scan I’m so nervous. I know it’s silly as the chances of something going wrong are very slim, and I very much still feel pregnant! Just want these nerves to ease.

Not long now xx

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 31/03/2021 17:39

Hiya @daisyorange2, it’s not silly it’s completely normal to be a paranoid mess at regular intervals in the early stages 😖. Everything is most likely fine but it’s all a bit Schrodinger’s baby before you can feel movement and really see your bump growing. Next week will be here sooner than you think though and the scans will help to tide us over till the real fun of kicks start. From experience once you’ve had your 12 week scan and tell people it gets real and time seems to speed up again for a while. X
