Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

I hope everyone else is feeling well. I’ve had another sickness free few days so have spent it stuffing my face

@Leonberger I feel like I’ve been on a week long bender but without the fun part. It is still reassuring but I’ve got to say I’m looking forward to there being less unpleasant signs to reassure me.

Fresh air is so good isn’t it @Hoplop - but it’s just so damn cold!!!! I’m still struggling with being really shivvery and feeling so cold all the time! When I mentioned it to the EPU lady they didn’t seem bothered so long as I didn’t have a temp or any infection. Maybe it’s just a symptom for the over 40s!! Hahaha!

Does anyone have a lot of aching in the pelvic area? I’m weeing constantly but I feel so sore and a crampy today

@Leonberger I’ve been quite crampy the last few days but it’s duller than period pain type cramps, it feels more like I’ve overdone sit ups but lower down (I have definitely not overdone any sort of exercise).

Hi Ladies, hope you’re all ok today. I had my booking appointment just after dinner and now booked in for my 12 week scan and my next midwife appointment at 16 weeks 😬.

Apparently I have to be consultant led this time because I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis a couple of years ago and I don’t know what that entails. Do any of you know how consultant led is different from midwife led?

@Secretsquirrelisfedup was it over the phone? I had mine on Friday and then I have the second part this Friday bloods and urine - 12 week scan also booked in eek! When is yours? I'll get my letter this Friday.

From what I can see the differences vary based on the condition you have. I'm not sure what consultant led means during the pregnancy but think for birth you wouldn't be able to be in midwife unit/birthing centre. I think it can change as they assess you throughout though!

@daisyorange2 it was half and half, she rang at 1pm and did all the questions then asked me to come in for bloods etc which I did straight away as it’s a 2 minute walk away. My 12 week scan is on 7th April and she’s booked my 16 week midwife appointment in for the beginning of May too 😁

I’ve had my booking in appointment and date for 12 week scan too. Bloods tomorrow. Feels like something is happening now!

I still feel really strange but trying to just push it to the back of my mind

@Leonberger it’s surreal isn’t it. With my first two pregnancies I found that time seemed to speed up after the first midwife appointment. It’s also when it starts feeling real.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup @Leonberger I think having that early scan too gave so much reassurance and the time seems to not be crawling as much now we’ve overcome that first hurdle!

@daisyorange2 I agree. It’s definitely felt less like swimming through glue since the early scan. I’m so happy today. Virtual hugs to all of you because it’s currently illegal to go round hugging people in real life 😂

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I had my booking app this morn too! Scan date to be sent through (Electronically) in the next few days.

I was consultant-led last time due to the awkward shape if my uterus so I’ve no idea how it differs 😂 but it was reassuring to speak to consultants a few times throughout.

Afternoon everyone. Hope you’re all ok today. I was just wondering now most of us have early scans where are we all up to with dates? I’m 8+6 today and my EDD is 13th October.

I had bloods etc today. Another thing ticked off the list. Just counting down until the 12 week scan. I’m really tempted to get another early scan but I think maybe that’s being slightly too crazy

At my early scan I think I measured 3 days behind but I don’t normally ovulate until CD17 so it seemed about right. I’m 8+6 today according to LMP but I think I’m probably more like 8+3 or so!

I’m 8+5 with EDD of 14th Oct. 12 week scan on the 7th April!

@Leonberger I don’t normally ovulate till later either and I haven’t had a 28 day cycle in years so I was expecting to be put back a bit but weirdly I measured bang on in line with my LMP date. It’s uncanny how close we all are. That’s the same day as my 12 week scan @Hoplop 😁.

I'm 8+3 so EDD 16 Oct. Will find out 12 week scan date on Fri!

I would love if we were all on the same day!!!

There are so few of us on here I was thinking maybe after our scans we could start a Whatsapp group if anyone was up for it! We're all due the same week it would be nice to have people to stay in touch with along the way. x

I’ve just realised my scan is actually this month! For some reason it felt so long away. Not as long to countdown

That's good @Leonberger! Don't you think this year has just flown by? We're 10 days into March and almost done with the first trimester! I can't believe it really. It was like I blinked in December and now we're here.

Sorry I’ve been a bit off radar this last few days - back to work and school (and the accompanying ironing etc!) all took over a bit - that and tiredness!!

I’m 9 weeks on Thursday so very similar too! It would be lovely to stay in touch!! Keen!!

My booking appointment is so very late - at 11 weeks now that my dates changed a bit - (they said they couldn’t move it) but I had one early scan and have another this Tuesday coming to check on the haemotoma etc. I’ve never seen baby at 9.5/10 weeks before - only 6/8 ish - and s/he looked like like a wheato!!
I also am having that NIPT testing done this Friday - my blood taken to check for abnormalities- so we will find out the gender as part of that. Have never found out gender before with DC1or2 so quite excited- and excited to clear out half the crap in the loft!!!(this will be our last). Just not sure whether we keep the gender a surprise from everyone- or whether that’s too much hard work! 😂

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I am consultant led too. I think it just means a few extra appointments- historically they’ve been booked eg half an hour after a few of my midwife appts. No biggie. But yes, when labour arrives/due date nears - it’s them you see. I turn left at my hospital rather than turning right to the lovely midwife led unit which I’ve sadly never made it to! Hey ho.
