Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

@Hoplop I’m so pleased for you Grin I’ll keep everything crossed that you have a relaxing time from now on!

I’ve eaten my body weight in rubbish today. No sickness at all. It’s so strange, how can I go from constant sickness to feeling totally normal. It makes no sense as surely things should be getting stronger not weaker Confused

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 24/02/2021 13:24

@Hoplop Yaaaaaaaaaay. That is the most amazing news. I am beyond happy for you 😁.

@Leonberger pregnancy is horribly unpredictable, it’s infuriating but very normal for symptoms to fluctuate for no apparent reason and for one pregnancy to be completely different than the next for the same person. I reckon you enjoy the good stuff while you can keep it down and I’ll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you.

@Leonberger I hope you’re feeling a bit better already with the advice above.
If you aren’t bleeding, then I would try not to worry. The advice is all good advice and your scan on Sunday will be here before you know it!
Sending blessings ✨

Lisyloo725 · 24/02/2021 13:30

Oh @Hoplop this is EXCELLENT news!!!!!!!!!!! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Leonberger · 24/02/2021 16:20

Thanks all of you. I’ve made up for the lack of being able to eat much all week today at least!

I wonder if I should contact the EPU and explain Ive had a sudden loss of symptoms...But realistically what can they do?

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 24/02/2021 16:56

@Leonberger you could just ring and see what they say, I’m sure they won’t mind and they might offer to check you over. Worst case they will tell you what you’ve already heard and you’ll have to wait till your scan unless you have other signs of a problem.

OP posts:
Lisyloo725 · 24/02/2021 19:45

@Leonberger All they can do is scan you/take bloods. This could be reassuring. Sometimes my symptoms have dropped (on working days when I’ve been almost too busy to notice them)...then they return when I stop. Perhaps this is you?
Pls don’t worry about asking the EPU to do something which they’re there to do. They can pop you at the end of the queue for the day if they wish- but will certainly help you. X x

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 25/02/2021 08:14

Morning everyone. How are you feeling today @Leonberger?

OP posts:
Leonberger · 25/02/2021 08:32

Morning everyone.
Still very much the same @Secretsquirrelisfedup, just like a bad feeling and my usual symptoms are gone or much less? I know it sounds a bit crazy.
I’m trying to just push it to the back of my mind until Sunday. I do want to contact the EPU but it won’t change anything if I do I suppose!

How are you all?

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 25/02/2021 09:23

@Leonberger I definitely think you should ring EPU. I look at it this way, if you don’t ring it’s 100% certain that they can’t help you but if you do ring there is a chance they might be able to do something like check you over and set your mind at rest sooner. There is a chance they won’t be able to do much but you still won’t have lost anything from ringing and you wouldn’t be wasting their time because that is what they are for.

I’ve booked an early scan for Tuesday and I’m more nervous and anxious now than I was before I booked it. 😩😩😩

OP posts:
Lisyloo725 · 25/02/2021 17:47

I salute you waiting til Sunday @Leonberger - but equally, one of the boxes on the EPU form that you tick/fill in says
Do you have:
Bleeding
Anxious
Loss of symptoms

So they except ladies in your position x x

Lisyloo725 · 25/02/2021 17:49

I booked by NIPT (paid for blood test for me to check for downs, turners and another genetic syndrome). One is called Harmony test, we are having the Panorama. I’m now stressing that the results will only worry me! I’m 40 and read the chance of downs, for example, is 1 in 106!!
I’m excited to find out the gender tho as that comes rolled in.
I haven’t done this before (found out the gender before birth or had this kind of testing)...just doing it now because of my history this last year and age.

daisyorange2 · 25/02/2021 18:26

@Leonberger I think you will definitely feel at ease by going to the EPU - it’s their job after all!

@Lisyloo725 my friend had harmony + gender done at 10 weeks and they loved the experience. Put their minds totally at rest and they felt it was nice to start the bonding experience (especially for her partner) by knowing the gender.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup I feel the same as you. My scan is next Saturday when I should be 8 weeks, I’ve been desperate for it counting the days down and I’m now nearly there I’m terrified!

My booking appointment is next Thursday and I’m going to tell the midwife everything then hopefully she will put me at ease, but it seems whether it’s your first baby or 100th, the worries are the same!

@Hoplop your good news just made me so happy this week - even told my DH about you and he said ah how lovely.

We’re all in this together ladies!
Xxxx

Lisyloo725 · 25/02/2021 19:29

Such a lovely post @daisyorange2 thank you 💕
You’re right 1st or 100th!! Same worries, different day!
X x

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 25/02/2021 20:30

@daisyorange2 the worries are definitely the same whether it’s your first or your 100th. I wish I could be a person that doesn’t worry but when it comes to my babies in the womb or out, I’ve got no chance.

I did find in my first two pregnancies that once the regular midwives appointments started they helped me a lot and gave me something to focus on and the midwives I saw were amazing, so understanding and so patient.

It is lovely to know that we are all in this together, it helps massively.

How are you all doing this morning? The sun is shining here and I had the best nights sleep I’ve had in aaaaages last night, I feel like a new woman 😁.

englishgirlinscotland · 26/02/2021 08:42

Oh @Secretsquirrelisfedup I am so jealous, I woke up to pee at half six and then was too hungry to go back to sleep, and now the sickness and metallic taste has hit with a vengeance 🙈

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 26/02/2021 08:49

@englishgirlinscotland Sorry you’re struggling with it. If it’s any consolation I’ve had exactly the same problem for weeks. I wake up sometime between 2am and 5.30am usually and really struggle to get back to sleep till about an hour before I have to get up. The sickness doesn’t go away when I get decent sleep but it’s definitely worse when I have a rubbish nights sleep.

OP posts:
daisyorange2 · 26/02/2021 09:15

Morning ladies! I am feeling good after a proper nights sleep also! I was kept up the night before with awful heartburn after eating an entire pizza which at the time tasted like a Michelin star meal. Wasn’t so happy about it later when it kept me awake and sick all night.

I wake up most nights too to pee and then usually nod back off just before my alarm goes and I am STARVING. I’m not a snacker so after I eat dinner at 6.30ish I don’t eat again til morning and I think it’s too long to go between meals, my body is screaming FEED ME!

Happy weekend everyone hope you all have some sunshine. I’m off for a walk and podcast now!
X

TravellingJack · 26/02/2021 09:16

Today was quite special - I vomited into my hand on the way back from the school run. Luckily I had a lot of tissues and it wasn't too bad as I hadn't eaten (don't normally have breakfast til later) but it was a bit of a shock! I've had nausea on and off for the last week or so, but was vaguely hoping it wouldn't escalate as much as it has in the past... looks like in vain!

I also can't face my usual cuppa this morning which was another classic symptom for me, although I suppose at least that'll cut down my caffeine intake.

LAgeDeRaisin · 26/02/2021 09:51

@TravellingJack urgh I can completely empathise. 6 weeks pregnant. I feel so so sick and have to go do back to back 12.5 hour shifts on the ward starting tomorrow. Really hoping not too many patients need a rectal exam Envy

TalulaBella · 26/02/2021 09:52

Ladies, this thread has given me a tiny bit of hope that my lines arent just Evaps, and maybe a squinter can turn into a fully fledged positive! Although had vvvvf lines for 3 days now.. just want to know either way! Congrats to everyone on their BFP! :)

Leonberger · 26/02/2021 10:21

Morning everyone.

I rang the EPU but they wouldn’t see me without a referral from my doctor for either bleeding or severe cramps so looks like I’m waiting it out.

Still feel really good, but bad about feeling good if that makes sense to anyone Confused

Secretsquirrelisfedup · 26/02/2021 10:57

@TravellingJack bad times 😱. Do you not feel worse if you don’t eat though? Maybe try a bit of toast or something before the school run.

@LAgeDeRaisin you and Leonberger are absolute heroes for the job you do, let alone doing those shifts whilst dealing with morning sickness and the exhaustion that goes with it. I hope your shifts at least go as smoothly as possible.

@TalulaBella have you done all the tests with FMU? Also how many DPO are you? Maybe try and wait a few days then test again.

@Leonberger it makes total sense. Sorry that EPU was no help. The policies and support vary so much from area to area. Not long to go till your scan though and we are all here for you too.
