Early BFPs

Hi, does anyone want to come and keep me company? Currently ttc#3 and I don’t know how many dpo I am as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable for the last year but I’d say between 8 and 12 dpo at a guess. I had a chemical in September and a miscarriage at about 6 weeks in early November. This month has been the first month we started trying again and I wasn’t going to test early but after feeling knackered and iffy all weekend I did an impulsive test last night before bed and got the faintest squinter ever. This morning I tested again and got a faint but definitely there positive that my phone camera managed to pick up 😬.

I don’t even want to tell DP yet as the last 2 BFPs didn’t stick. I don’t know what do do with myself today in between homeschooling and the kids have picked today to be really motivated and not needing much help from me.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup the lady on the phone did sneakily tell me to ring my doctor and say I had bad cramps and they would see me but since I’ve got a private booked anyway I’ll just have that instead.
She did say it can be normal and that no 2 pregnancies are the same so it could just be that I’m not as ill as I was first time round. I’ve moved it to tomorrow afternoon so I should know by then!
I’m working until 9pm tonight so at least my mind will be taken off it.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup 2/5 were done with FMU and 3 were done in the evening/afternoon and all the same results. I HATE this limbo. I can see the damn line but it feels like its not a "proper" line. With my only other pregnancy, It was positive while I was still peeing on the stick, turns out was 11 weeks pregnant. I will retest. Have a digi just in case line gets noticably darker, can use that.

@TalulaBella the limbo truly is the worst isn’t it. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Just a thought though I had some other test strips that were rubbish and the line was still really faint on those when it was getting considerably darker on the better more sensitive ones I use. I definitely recommend the easy @ home strips that are £8.99 for a box of 20 from Amazon.

@Secretsquirrelisfedup Thanks for the recommendation. Everyone swears by FRER but I can't get them in a pharmacy here (Benidorm), and Amazon ones are expensive!

@TalulaBella I know it gets so expensive using FRERs when you’re testing often. I find these strips as sensitive and reliable as FRER and you get 10 times as many for the price 😁.

Of the two hospitals near me, one is like that but another is ‘walk in’.

I had a bit of old blood when I wiped this morning - am quite shocked and obvs thinking the worst - questioning reduction in my symptoms- it didn’t used to be this hard!!! Ugh.
I’ll watch carefully and see how I go. If more then I’ll call the EPU on Monday first thing 🙁

Scan went fine. Measuring 7 weeks with a strong heartbeat, I thought I was 7+3 so the dates match. All in the right place etc. Not sure what the lack of symptoms is about but the sonographer seemed to think all was as it should be!

So pleased for you @Leonberger!! I think fluctuation in symptoms is so normal! I’ve felt everything on and off. Today the sickness is very much on. X

How are you all doing? I’ve got my early scan tomorrow and I was trying to distract myself from thinking about until then which was going well till the midwife rang about my appointment next Monday to explain how they are doing the booking appointments. It seems a bit weird to me as apparently it’s half by phone then the second half at the surgery on the same day.

I’ve avoided sickness so far and just had some light nausea. The thing getting to me though is tiredness! I honestly can’t stay awake late enough to put DS to bed most nights and had to shower at lunch time today to try and wake me up a bit!

Boooing appointment timings for me is a bit odd - with my two losses they were at 6/7 weeks!!! This ones at over ten!! Not sure that can be right can it?!
Feel a bit adrift til then. Maybe it’s cos it’s my third I’m supposed to know what to do!!
My 12 week scan is at thirteen-and-a-half weeks which also concerns me!
What am I talking about - everything concerns me!

I rang the EPU today about the small bit of bleeding I had at the weekend and they are spotting me in tomorrow. The bleeding seems to have subsided but I can’t rest until I’ve seen all is ok.

Thanks ladies, I’m pathetic today. I need to give my head a wobble. I will be so happy if it all goes well though, it will be such a weight off.

@Leonberger you should probably take it easy but I know that’s easier said than done when you don’t know how long you are going to feel rough for and you have a physically tough job. It will all be worth it though and it’s definitely starting to feel more real.

@daisyorange2 it’s so confusing with different areas having completely different ways of dealing with appointments during covid and even then they change their minds. I’m baffled at conducting half of the appointment over the phone when they want to see me on the same day anyway for bloods and height/weight etc though.

@Hoplop I feel your pain on the exhaustion front, it’s relentless isn’t it...well apart from in the middle of the night when I actually want to be asleep.
