Ovulation due 27th January / Period due 10th February

So it's our first month ttc, however it's been in the pipeline for a year or so with me coming off the pill etc.

I generally have 30 day cycles and have been using my tracker app to track this which has been really reliable although I know it's not guaranteed. I am due to ovulate on the 27th January and due on my period on the 10th February.

I know the fertile window is 5 days before. Would you do it every day? Twice a day? Every other day?

SO excited to start testing in the next few weeks

Hi, this is my first cycle TTC too and have similar dates to you! I'm using an app to track which i know might not be that reliable but will and have been DTD every day since yesterday. Don't think I'd have the energy for more than once a day Grin

cooper96 · 25/01/2021 08:50

Hey! How exciting! We've been the same every day but it's getting quite repetitive now so in the likely event that we don't get a positive this month I think it may be every other day next month! X

I've been reading so much info on conception and learnt I clearly never paid enough attention in biology at school! Grinit's actually quite overwhelming so I hope I've understood everything and worked it out right! I had my coil removed in October so have only really been able to track my periods since then and they vary each month in terms of cycle days. If it doesn't happen this cycle I'll try ovulation sticks to see if that helps x

cooper96 · 25/01/2021 10:39

I know we avoid TTC so much when we are younger to only realise how difficulty and scientific it actually is to work! I come off Cerelle pill about a year or so ago and have been using the tracking app to avoid TTC! I have been using pre pregnancy vitamins. I don't want to get too fixated on it but we're not even a week in and here I am on mum's net looking at people's lines 🤣

roxybear · 25/01/2021 11:54

OMG! I'm exactly the same! I can see myself getting fixated on this which I know is totally not going to help! The more I read the more I panic but I just can't help myself! Grin every tracker I use tells me different dates so I'm just going to DTD until 2 days past the fertility window this month and hope for the best. Period should arrive on feb 10/11 which now feels like years away. I'm 34 now and my husband is 40 and I'm terrified it will take us a long time to conceiveConfused

cooper96 · 25/01/2021 14:00

Mine is due on the 10th February and my app is saying I am due to ovulate on the 27th January so it's " high now". Time will only tell I guess!

Is this your first time trying? Hopefully you will be fine and won't be waiting for too long!

Were 24 and decided last year we were ready but wanted to wait a year to make sure it wasn't a phase / were sure but a year on we are so decided to go for it!

Tbh I'm not 100% sure of my cycle length sometimes 26 then 27 and then 28 so just doing it as much as we can and hoping for the best! Yeah it's our first month trying but I'm clearly taking it very seriously!Grin I've wanted a baby pretty much since I met my partner 3 years ago Blushbut we got married, then covid, then bought a house so I kept putting it off for the "right" time! I will keep thinking positive thoughts for you!! I will defo be over analysing any thoughts/symptoms until the 11th feb lol xx

cooper96 · 25/01/2021 18:00

Aw that's lovely! There will never be a "right time" something always crops up doesn't it.

My cycles have averaged at 30 days so hopefully the app is accurate!

Keep us up to date over the next few weeks with symptoms / test!!! Xx

Defo agree with never the right time! When I think about actually having a baby I get anxious but in a good way! I caved today and bought ovulation tests 🤦‍♀️ it was positive this afternoon and checked again this eve and now it's negative! Apparently the later tests can sometimes not be as accurate 🤔 do let me know how you get on too! Nice to have someone to talk stats about with! Xx

cooper96 · 25/01/2021 20:09

Honestly I'm the same! I feel like I've already chosen a pram / nursery / clothes and we're not even pay the first hurdle. Definetly get carried away in my mind which is why I have come on here as I think would drive the other half crazy! What ovulation test did you get? I've seen a few posts where people track them over the fertile window where they get darker and darker until ovulation. I think your first wee off the day is supposed to be best for strength etc xx

roxybear · 25/01/2021 21:12

Haha me too! My closest friends don't have babies so I have no one else to talk to about all this stuff! I just got these cheap ones from boots. They were £5 for 10 but quite hard to read as I've now found out! Will upgrade to the clear blue ones next time to be sure as they seem easier to read! God the wait in feb to do a test is literally gonna do my head in🤣🤣🤣 x

Kona84 · 25/01/2021 21:28

Hi you don’t need clear blue. The fermometer or easy@home OPK’s work well.
Download the Premom app to scan your strips.
Do not use first urine. Test around 10am starting from around cd8.
When you see it getting darker increase to twice per day - you are trying to see the test line darker than the control line. Once you get what you think might be the darkest keep testing - once it starts getting lighter you would have detected your peak.
For example i have attached this month chart- I was convinced I had my peak this morning - tested this evening around 5pm and it was even darker then tested at 8pm and it is lighter so my peak was the 5pm test

Ovulation due 27th January / Period due 10th February
Kona84 · 25/01/2021 21:30

Mine start at cd11 because I know I never ovulate before then.
I know from my results I will ovulate within next 16-48 hours
But I dtd yesterday so hoping that there’s sperm waiting for the egg

roxybear · 25/01/2021 21:49

@Kona84 thanks for the tips! I literally know nothing! 🤣 I'll defo look up those tests for next time. I had what I think was positive around 2pm ish today but tested again at 6.20pm and line was a lot fainter - does that mean I've lost the ovulation window? Does the positive mean ovulation has happened or about to happen?! X

roxybear · 25/01/2021 21:53

Tested at 2pm

Ovulation due 27th January / Period due 10th February
cooper96 · 25/01/2021 22:13

I think I may order some ovulation strips online too! Let's see if I can resist the temptation to go to the shop tomorrow! Xx

OP posts:
roxybear · 25/01/2021 22:54

@cooper96

Let me know how you get on! I couldn't resist buying them despite promising myself I wouldn't 🤣🤣I'm gonna test again tomo morning around 10am to see what it says. I have been feeling overly happy today which is apparently another sign of ovulation! Xx

roxybear · 26/01/2021 10:12

@cooper96 well I tested this morning and was negative again so now I'm terrified I've missed my chance this month! Although we did DTD for the last 3 nights in a row. All my apps that I'm using predict I won't ovulate until today or as late as Friday! 🤔🤔

cooper96 · 26/01/2021 15:01

Sperm can last for 5 days so if you have done it for the past few days I imagine that you've not missed the window. I guess that's the good thing about using the ovulation strips it's more accurate than the app as it seems to be quite a few days out!! I am off work today and woke up with the intention of nipping to the shop for ovulation sticks and my car wouldn't start as I've not used it for a while 🤣 so currently awaiting a jump start but I think that's a way of telling me not to get the ovulation strips this month!!! Xx

Hi I have similar dates! My peak is today, confirmed by natural cycles app, OPKS and CM changes. Had sex Friday, Saturday and last night. Will try again tonight for good luck Grin

We can do the TWW together atleast haha!

roxybear · 26/01/2021 15:51

@EllisRoses hey! Welcome to the cycle club 🤣 so much better when people are around the same time as you so you can compare notes and have someone to talk it through with! We will also be doing it again tonight and tbh prob every night until Friday just to be sure 🤣 I'm not quite sure when I should stop lol! Is this you first cycle TTC? Xx

roxybear · 26/01/2021 15:52

@cooper96 oh no that's so annoying! Haha maybe it is a sign you don't need them! I've now used the whole box I bought yesterday 🤦‍♀️🤣 all negative apart from that one positive yesterday afternoon xx

EllisRoses · 26/01/2021 16:03

I know it is nice, I tried to join one of the other TTC threads but it was very busy and I felt like they all already knew each other Grin

Good thinking! Might as well haha! It is my first cycle this time around, I already have a toddler though! How about you? Xx

cooper96 · 26/01/2021 16:08

@roxybear - How many were in the back? 🤣 I had a look online earlier and you can buy packs of 50 on ebay for under £10.00. I don't want to order them in the hope that I am successful in TTC this month ( v wishful!!!). On my app it says ovulation predicted 27th but still Medium / High between 22nd - 31st so quite a big window! Xx

@EllisRoses Hey! I was the same, checked other threads but seen there were hundreds of messages! Hopefully as the third member you are the luck we need 🤣 🤞it's definetly much better having people to speak to on here as there's only so much company Google can give you on this! Xx

OP posts:
roxybear · 26/01/2021 16:10

@EllisRoses me too, but they were pretty well established chats by the time I joined! Yeah first cycle TTC number 1 so a complete novice to this! How quickly did it happen for you with your first? I terrify myself that it won't happen for me xx
