@Imtheodbasyoucansee I've been charting with bbt and doing opk this month, but it makes no sense to me at all! I've spoken to quite a few people and the Clearblue advanced digital ovulation tests seem to be easiest to get on with even though a bit pricier. I've found the normal ones on Amazon 20 tests for £27 or the connected version (just uploads the info to an app for you) on eBay for £25 for 25 tests

Imtheodbasyoucansee · 02/02/2021 21:47

Thank you @Marvellouslymadmum I will check all of those out. I am tempted to splurge on the boots ones this month.
I think after my miscarriage my charts we're all over the place too, really confusing time as you always read it's a great time to try again but I honestly had no clue what was going on or when to expect anything!
Count down to ttc again soon, another af done and out the way now. Smile

GuessHowMuch · 02/02/2021 22:41

@M4v3r1ck no TTC allowed at all until I’ve got the all clear. Annoying but hopefully won’t be too long (although with COVID who knows what’s going to happen!).

Sorry you’re having a rough time @DawnWW. How are the antibiotics doing? The last time I had antibiotics I felt awful 🤢

@Marvellouslymadmum I agree that the OPK from day 8 looks the strongest. That would fit with your temp drop after. You’ll need to wait for another two high temps after the rise to confirm ovulation? I’m so not an expert at this though 😅 I’ve been very surprised to see some patterns emerging on my chart; I wasn’t convinced temping would be useful but so far so good.

Marvellouslymadmum · 02/02/2021 23:24

@Imtheodbasyoucansee @GuessHowMuch it's really thrown me off that it was so soon! Oh wasn't feeling very well so we only dtd once 🤦🏼‍♀️ I was hoping to catch the extra fertile bit 🙄 but hey ho, I'll carry on checking just to see what happens I think as it could just be all over the place still

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 13:46

Ok I am definitely getting the cb ovulation advanced for next month! After it going back down to 0% yesterday it's back up to 33% today 🤦🏼‍♀️ I'm no wiser than I was without using the strips 😂

thislittlebird · 03/02/2021 13:56

OPKs confused the hell out of me @Marvellouslymadmum, glad I went the CB route and wish I’d done it months ago.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 14:35

@thislittlebird me too! I definitely wasted money on these 😕 I've just ordered some cb digi advance ones and got a good deal too so I'll have to put this month down as a learning experience and hope for a better go next month!

M4v3r1ck · 03/02/2021 18:53

@Marvellouslymadmum same here, lovely, and hopefully we'll have sticky healthy BFPs soon! 😍🤞🏻that all sounds promising re: your other half! When is your GP chat? My charts are still haywire btw, even though I'm on a super light AF! My BBT plummeted and then went shooting back up! 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm hoping my OPKs will be better this cycle now I've had my period! I've bought the CB ones to try too, as only ever used the cheapy ones and I don't think they like me! 🤣

@DawnWW how confusing, but glad they're looking into it! Hope the blood tests and GP chat gives you some answers! 🤞🏻 How's the pain and cramping? Still there?

@Happyhappy37 glad it's going good! Hoping we all get hols soon! 🤞🏻 It's nice googling and dreaming about them now at least! 🤪

@thislittlebird I've not heard of impryl, what's that for? There's so much stuff out there! 🤯 Neither of us have been tested for fertility, as I got pregnant after 5 months TTC. Even though it was an MMC I'm not sure they'll do investigations just yet... 🤔

@Imtheodbasyoucansee don't worry you're not alone with these bloody OPKs! Me and the cheap easy at home ones are not friends - even before my MMC and crazy readings! I've decided to try the CB one as lots of people have said positive things about them! 🤞🏻

@GuessHowMuch argh that's frustrating! Have you had any update your appointments?!

Happy hump day ladies! Especially anyone on their FW! 🤪😂😈

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 19:03

@M4v3r1ck I'm still testing everyday with the Femometer strips for ov but I'm not hopeful that they're any kind of helpful 😂 if I'm getting a high reading when the cb arrive I may try one and see if it's the same, if not I'll wait until next month for those. I'm guessing the go will probably call between Friday and Tuesday to give me the results of the other test she did (just to rule out any nasties re the low iron) when she does I'll talk to her then about ttc and if we can have any tests etc the bbt charts still baffle me a bit though I can sort of see patterns in them, I do think it helps doing both though as it's then easier to see the changes properly!

DawnWW · 03/02/2021 19:19

Hi everyone, pain and cramping has been getting a lot worse for me today. I've been feeling more nauseous, peeing all the time and my boobs are so sore today and nipples feel horrible. Sorry if TMI. This is new and I know can be a symptom of early preg. The pain is getting so bad and my left pelvic area is much worse and very bloated and swollen. How long do I leave it before calling doctors again? Literally in bed with heated blanket because I can't do much and I think I have quite a high pain threshold.

Did another test this afternoon and still BFN but starting to really worry this could be an eptopic, or even PID because I've had that before, something is definitely wrong. Test results should be back tomorrow I think, antibiotics nearly done, but call not booked until Monday. Am I meant to just wait and hope it doesn't get too bad before then or end up being an emergency?

Darkstar4855 · 03/02/2021 19:56

@DawnWW sorry you’re still in pain. If the pain is really bad I’d suggest phoning 111 rather than waiting until Monday for a call. Hope you get some answers asap.

To all who struggled with cheap OPKs, I was the same, could never get anything close to a positive and started to worry I wasn’t ovulating. I tried the CB smily face ones and they worked great. My partner works shifts plus we have a toddler at home so it really helps to know when we need to make a bit of extra effort and when we can chill a bit more!

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 19:57

@DawnWW I would definitely speak to the doctor again if I were you! That certainly doesn't sound right to me, and if the pain gets much worse maybe call 111? Hope you feel better soon 😊

thislittlebird · 03/02/2021 20:43

I also think calling 111 sounds like a good idea @DawnWW. I did it in December when I was getting weird pains and a late period, they’ll talk everything through with you and advise.

@Darkstar4855 the OPKs also made me worry I wasn’t ovulating and everything else suggests I am so far, I’m glad I finally have CB. I got the ones with the monitor and my husband calls it my game boy which makes me laugh.

You probably don’t have to worry for a while then @M4v3r1ck. We found out DH had mixed results in the sperm area (high count but also rather low vitality and motility) and the fertility doc suggested Impryl to improve the quality. Women and men can take it and it helps the body to produce GSH which is apparently the body’s natural antioxidant. We bought him 3 months supply and hoping to see an improvement by then.

The other thing the CB taught me @Marvellouslymadmum is that I ovulate (so far) two days after LH surge? Never would have realised otherwise.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 20:47

@thislittlebird that is interesting, I've seen some people say they have a really short peak time abs I would assume that means you have a long one! To be honest from everything so far I don't feel like my fertility can be that bad even though I'm almost 42 but who knows!

M4v3r1ck · 03/02/2021 21:43

@Marvellouslymadmum @Darkstar4855 it definitely sounds like the CB ones are the way forward for us all! 😃🤞🏻 The cheapies were actually making me stressed as I thought something was wrong with me! 🤦🏻‍♀️ RE: BBT, mine seemed to be pretty good especially for AF arriving, and properly remained high when I was pregnant! It's possible we've both got some crazy residual hormones kicking around! 🤔 Keep us updated on the GP call!

@DawnWW I agree with what the others are saying, please phone NHS24, even if it's just for some reassurance until Monday! Sending you much love! 😘

@thislittlebird how interesting, this whole field is mind boggling! So what are both you and your DH taking? Combined supplements or various individual supplements? 🤔

Btw talking of OHs, my DH has found a MN equivalent called DadAF - he's found it pretty good! There's a lot for us mums-to-be, but not much for them in this process (I know us women are more "sharey" and talkative about this stuff in general vs men), but in case anyone else's OH finds it helpful! 😃

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/02/2021 22:05

@M4v3r1ck I'm finding myself looking forward to the Cb opk actually arriving now 🤣 the others have stressed me out too! I think my bbt goes up and down a lot but looking at others it's not just me so hopefully that's ok, will let you know what the gp says when she calls

Imtheodbasyoucansee · 03/02/2021 23:32

@DawnWW hope you have an ok night and if it is getting worse you are able to find out what it is.

I said before about boots opk, I meant clear blue, getting all confused!!

thislittlebird · 04/02/2021 00:32

@Marvellouslymadmum yeah and I guess it makes me realise I could have been timing things a little off before when OPKs weren’t working for me and I was guessing a fair bit, because everyone says it’s 12-36 hours so I didn’t think it would be >48. The clear blue will help you I’m sure, they are much easier to work with.

@M4v3r1ck a mixture, I guess. I started on seven seas trying for a baby, açai capsules and Omega 369 early January, oh and EPO at the start of my cycle. I also have ubiquinol that arrived today that I’ve not started yet and I read a thread about it making you ovulate later???? Dunno how true that is but I’m now a tad worried about taking it because I already ovulate CD17/18. I’ll probably try for a month and see how I get on. DH can have mine if I don’t use it.

He’s now on impryl, ubiquinol, and ordered omega 3. Will probably check what’s in them and get him to top up vitamin d, and b12 if need be because he’s 95% vegetarian. Impryl say don’t take anything else with it so you don’t upset the ~balance~ but I’ve seen other people say they doubled up. It’s a minefield. Are you taking anything or just the DH?

Marvellouslymadmum · 04/02/2021 11:51

@thislittlebird I definitely feel like there's quite a bit of guess work involved most of the time!

I find all the supplements a bit if a minefield! There's so many different ones to take but then I'm taking the pregnacare conception which is supposed to have everything in it but I'm not sure and at the same time I don't want to overdose on anything either 🤪

thislittlebird · 04/02/2021 11:59

Yeah there’s a huge market of them. I would have taken pregnacare but wellwoman made me sick Confused when I took that before (I think the zinc has a funny effect on me) but the seven seas have been ok thus far. I know they mess with some people’s cycles so I took 7S from CD1 it’s been fine. Before that I only had vitamin d and folic acid. The omega and açai are supposed to be good for fertility so thought I’d give them a go too.

MgW1 · 04/02/2021 12:22

Anyone in 2ww? Xx

thislittlebird · 04/02/2021 12:35

Yeah I am, where are you in it? @MgW1

MgW1 · 04/02/2021 12:42

MgW1 · 04/02/2021 12:48

@TTCat39
Sorry made a mistake I am 4dpo 🙄 . How are you doing? I have had an odd month. Got my peak saturday but still got lots of ewcm. I did not think anything of it so didnt continue to test beyond peak and now wondering if we should have continued dtd for longer 🤷‍♀️ oh well not sure i could have managed because my hubby had a cold and sniffling man is not a turn on 🤣
Will you be testing the weekend or waiting ? Xx
