Yeah I switched to clear blue purely because I couldn’t get lines on the cheap ones either. I keep reassuring myself we were likely missing the fertile window 😐

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/02/2021 22:17

@KG1145 yes that would be great! I'm suspicious I'm not ovulating properly either that's why I've switched to the clearblue I get higher readings but never a peak!

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 22:18

@KG1145 you need to use Preseed or Conceive Plus lubricant, other lubes slow down sperm

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:21

Magnesium is supposed to help balance the old hormones too apparently @Marvellouslymadmum, I read someone say it helps when taking b6 so I thought why not since apparently we’re all magnesium deficient lol. Again, I’m not taking super high doses, just the standard one but I thought let’s give it a go.

The açai is interesting, I guess it does what the pomegranate juice does (good antioxidant) and I read about it in a ttc book I read over Christmas and new year so got some. Haven’t taken it this week because I started the vitamin c so wasn’t sure whether to take both antioxidants or just one.

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/02/2021 22:25

@thislittlebird ahh ok I'll add that then, my oh takes magnesium anyway so I can start that straight away. Hmm I'm taking the vit c so maybe I'll hold off on the other for now, I've no idea if they'll do much but hey ho

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 22:31

Has anyone tried castor oil packs? I've just been reading about them. No idea how it works, but looks like a low cost, low risk thing to try.

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:32

Yeah that way thinking, you probably don’t need multiple antioxidants but i’ll give any of it a go. Oh and I’m seed cycling 😂

It’s all go here lol

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:34

No, but I’ve heard of it, what’s it meant to do? @Kitekat81

Also @Noodella18, what’s the maca root do? I’ve not come across that before

climbershell · 27/02/2021 22:36

I've purchased 2 x frer and a clear blue digital, but can anyone recommend a batch of 10-20 paper strip cheapies? Keep seeing different opinions

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 22:40

@thislittlebird you put it on your lower abdomen from after your period until ovulation to improve circulation around your reproductive organs, and over your liver in your luteal phase to help with detoxification.

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 22:42

@thislittlebird

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:44

Oh thats really interesting @Kitekat81. Becausethe acupuncture is supposed to help with some of that too so I might look into it.

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 22:45

@thislittlebird yeh exactly. I can't do acupuncture at the moment so this looks like something to try in the meantime!

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:51

I started taking the l-arginine for similar reasons @Kitekat81. It’s supposed to increase blood flow but it’s a high dose so I just took it a few days ahead of and around ovulation. Really want my period to be more normal this month, I’m hoping the supplements will help.

KG1145 · 27/02/2021 22:54

@thislittlebird, I just took them off like a plaster, did it in in the bath this morning. They are so tiny though, didn't feel anything.

Ah, learn something new everyday. I am quite annoyed at myself for not thinking about it but deep down I think it probably made no difference given we used the same brands when we concieved before (for my son and 2 MC)

KG1145 · 27/02/2021 22:56

@Kitekat81 - thank, I'll look into them. Do they help or are they neutral do you know

thislittlebird · 27/02/2021 22:58

Yeah I don’t think it’s a deal breaker @KG1145 but I thought we would try to give the swimmers a good shot at it when the odds are stacked against them Confused

Kitekat81 · 27/02/2021 23:00

@KG1145 they are supposed to have the same consistency as your natural cervical mucus so they are easy for sperm to swim through. Also good if you are a bit lacking in cervical mucus. Other lubes won't prevent pregnancy (otherwise they would be sold as contraceptives!) but they do make it a bit more difficult for the sperm to get through.

KG1145 · 27/02/2021 23:06

@Kitekat81 @thislittlebird thanks guys I'll take a look

I've been seeing all the vitamins you guys have been taking and keep meaning to make a note of them all. It's just a bit overwhelming though, I think I'll dedicate an evening to it one evening. I'm just taking the naturelo prenatal and ubiquinal at the moment (recommended from it starts with an egg)

I've also been eating pineapple today, I'm not really sure why but I saw someone mentioned it before. I am also trying to add extra veggies into every meal I cook. I think I need to loose a bit of weight but not sure on dieting while ttc, I assum some is fine as long as it's not extreme... my 'to google' list is so long! I really need an idiots guide lol, just so mentally exhausted with it all

Marvellouslymadmum · 27/02/2021 23:23

@thislittlebird what's seed cycling? Am I missing out? 😂 no haven't heard if those @Kitekat81 I'll have to look into it!

@KG1145 yes pineapple has bromelain in it which helps for implantation, you're supposed to have it including the stork each morning on an empty stomach but I've read one thing that says on the four days leading to ovulation and on the day of ovulation and one that says after ovulation so I'm a bit confused now haha

I've just literally made a list of different things people have told me on here the googled them to find what they do and the dosages, I'm like a walking suppliment shop now 😂

climbershell · 28/02/2021 07:43

@KG1145 I've been on a slice of pineapples every morning, you need to eat it on snap empty stomach for the bromelain to be effective, it acts as an anti inflammatory so helps with implantation

Also stopped having my berries in smoothie as they're frozen (tried warming in microwave but was disgusted), so I switched to blueberry juice instead, which I heat for 20 sec to get room temperature. I think the cold food/drink is very likely total crap but still doing it... Desperate 😅Plus been sleeping in socks lol

I'm 8dpo and think I potentially implanted day 6, but not sure, so I'll keep up this charade for another couple days 😁

climbershell · 28/02/2021 08:43

Last night for the first time ever i dreamt i took a bunch of pregnancy tests that were positive 🤦‍♀️

Misty84 · 28/02/2021 09:22

I’m on 9dpo, this month I used pre seed for the first time, having a small glass of pomegranate juice every day, handful of nuts, various vitamins, also sleeping in socks @climbershell 😂 Damn I have frozen blueberries in my morning smoothie but ugh I’m fed up of changing everything when some people do absolutely zilch and get pregnant with ease! It’s infuriating!

If unsuccessful will also add pineapple next month to this charade! (perfect way to describe it!)

Kitekat81 · 28/02/2021 10:55

Amen to that @Misty84! If all my friends who got pregnant in only a few months knew about all the supplements / foods / drinks / fertility aids / crazy routines I go through on a daily basis they would think I'm completely mad!

climbershell · 28/02/2021 11:08

Maybe we are completely nuts lol.

I agree so many people I know are unhealthy and give no second thought to their diet or lifestyle while TTC accept folic acid and conceive within a couple of cycles
