@MgW1 I'm so sorry I didn't read your post before I posted mine. So sorry to hear this. Have you spoken to your GP, they might be able to advise on next steps? Sending lots of love x

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 17:45

@Kitekat81
My G.p will refer me to see a gynaecologist but I will prob go privately due to wait times. He said he would ring me back when made enquiries , juat waiting, might be tomorrow now. Might give vit b6 a bash ? Anyone on it ? What dose ? I have read early recurrent mc's can indicate low progesterone levels x

WrongendoftheSTIX · 22/02/2021 18:16

@MgW1 I'm can't help with the B6 but I'm sorry to see your news I am glad that your GP refering you. I hope you don't have to wait too long before they get back to you.

thislittlebird · 22/02/2021 18:17

Sorry to hear that @MgW1. I stumbled across this researching my low progesterone the other day, might be worth a read? Also have a read of the problems with large b6 doses too while you’re looking into it. I have some here to take but might start after I ovulate.

thislittlebird · 22/02/2021 18:18

@Kitekat81 I’m no good at all this cup stuff, so sadly I am no help

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 18:24

@thislittlebird
Thank you for the info i will check it out. I dont know if these 2 early mc's are stress related, been under a lot of work stress due to shite year. Xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 19:25

@MgW1 so sorry, I know how you feel as I've had 2 mc and two cp as well but the doc doesn't seem to be overly concerned and hasn't revered me anywhere as yet! 🤞🏻 for you.

@Kitekat81 it's me! I have one feel free to send me a pm if you prefer or talk about it here, it's actually very soft and straight forward and I do the same, my partner has no idea when I ovulate as I don't want him having the same issues. I usually keep it in the bathroom then after we dtd I lay still for at least 10 mins then 'pop to the toilet' and bobs your uncle 😂

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 19:32

@Marvellouslymadmum
Well she is ringing me tomorrow , I dont know what will say. Its £240 for consulation with consultant Gynaecologist at nuffield , iv had some tests already but not overly keen on idea of taking medication e.g progesterone at this stage i dont think due to family history of breast cancer , hubby wants to crack on and keep trying until the summer and see where we are at xx

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 19:37

@MgW1 maybe that's the way forward for now if you'd rather not take medication, you could wait a while all the time knowing your referral On the nhs is on its way and there are some other more natural things you can do like vit b6 etc too

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 20:06

@Marvellouslymadmum
Scared of any hormone medication because my mum had breast cancer in her 40's , iv never taken the contraceptive pill!!!
Stopped taking the pregnacare last month , just on folic and vit b12 but take them with 1000mg dissolvable vit c and research suggests a good progesterone increase after 3 months with vit c. Just need to add b6 perhaps .... il have a read tonight. Sorry you have been through similar , its hard because stress effects progesterone levels too and other than walking its hard to de - stress. In need of 2 weeks in maldives i reckon 🤣xx

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 20:25

@thislittlebird
I think you would be ok with 50mg vit b6? H&b do it., im going to order some x

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 21:36

@MgW1 2 weeks in the Maldives would definitely help! It could be called a fertility holiday I bet they'd get loads of people going 😂 I totally understand about the hormone meds though

selina37 · 23/02/2021 08:02

Back to the question of B6...

What are the side effects of taking more than 50mg a day?

And, do you take 50mg a day everyday? Or just after ovulation?

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 08:09

Stress from work and ttc is a lot, so it’s possible @MgW1. It’s so hard to de-stress, especially right now. Stress definitely can disrupt progesterone levels, I’m think that’s what is happening with me.

I have my b6 here! And I’m tempted to start it soon because I got a surprise peak Confused

I usually ovulate a few days later than this, and so far I’ve not had any ovulation pains like the last few months (which were extensive), except I may have felt something when I woke up in the night. Last week I got my peak on day 15, this is either my first (day 13) or second day (12) of peak (because I failed to POAS successfully yesterday) and it’s pretty early for me hmmmm. I thought I was safe to bodge it yesterday because it’s usually later lol

I do wonder if the acupuncture brought this forward 🤔 or the vitamins, but I’ve only cranked those up the last couple of days?

I could really, really do with a holiday but for now I have a few days booked at Center Parcs that I can finally reschedule (hopefully for April). It’s not the Maldives, but it’s also not my house/nearest park, which is fine.

@selina37 there’s a bit about it here

www.nhs.uk/conditions/vitamins-and-minerals/vitamin-b/

parenting.firstcry.com/articles/vitamin-b6-and-fertility/

I was even considering one every other day, still not decided and need to decide soon lol

MgW1 · 23/02/2021 08:27

@thislittlebird
Where is the info regarding taking b6 after ovulation? Xx

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 08:37

Oh I made that up for myself lol @MgW1. Have a read of old threads from women taking it, I found those helpful. I messaged a lady who took 100mg and she took it all month, I’m just being cautious and I didn’t want to delay my cycle (people use it for short luteal phase) because my LP is fine normally, in terms of length, or take too much.

Purely didn’t want to overdo it/other supplements so I don’t think there’s any real reason not to take it throughout your cycle.

MgW1 · 23/02/2021 08:41

@thislittlebird
Ahhh!! How much were you going to take? I moght start on 10mg then or is that too low ? I usually have 31 day cycle.

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 08:42

I would add that my understanding from what I read is that it encourages oestrogen and progesterone (maybe it gets them working properly) but my body seems to have plenty of oestrogen based on my HIGH reading on clear blue all month so hopefully that explains my thought process somewhat @MgW1.

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 08:45

I have 50mg tablets @MgW1 here so I guess I’ll take those. I am tempted to just say sod it, let’s go full 100mg. It worked for some other people, but maybe caution and 50mg is the way forward so I don’t end up with a long LP.

I’ll probably stop the l-arginine after today/tomorrow because that can awaken my cold sore virus, apparently, and no one needs that. It’s for getting the blood circulating, including in the corpus luteum 🤷‍♀️

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 08:48

10mg would still boost you right up, I don’t see the harm in that at all since it’s a low dosage @MgW1

MgW1 · 23/02/2021 09:04

@thislittlebird
Are you taking 1000mg vit c? I am , il try vit b6 at 50mg and see how i get on and take 1/2 tablet if it upsets my cycle. Had completely negative test now this a.m so waiting for AF after this chemical xx

thislittlebird · 23/02/2021 09:08

I have ordered 550mg @MgW1, can take more than one if I get on with it. It supposed to be really good for ovulation and progesterone levels.

I’m sorry about your test, fingers crossed AF comes soon if it’s coming x

selina37 · 23/02/2021 09:09

@thislittlebird and @MgW1 Thank you for all that info!

I'm going to stick to 50mg, @Loladoodle also suggested this to me originally. 🙂

My LP seems a good length of 14 days but it's the spotting that gets me down! Hoping B6 will assist with that.

Hoping it will help my mood too. I seem to get to 7dpo and my mood drops and that's when spotting can start. It's almost like my progesterone peaks then dips at that point.

(Again, why didn't the fertility doctors suggest this vitamin? But that's an argument we've already had!!)

climbershell · 23/02/2021 09:09

Just rang to chase my blood test, no issues there, though doc can't actually ring me to chat about it til 4th March PM 🤦‍♀️ I'll be out working in someone's garden then potentially with no privacy doh

Partner had his analysis last Wed. Guess await his results and if all ok, try get a scan?
