I have to say, I mainly do legs up as find it less, erm, messy? than just lying flat 🙈😂

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 20:06

@M4v3r1ck actually I still have lots on cheap opk left so I may do an evening one of those as the second test 🤷🏼‍♀️ I've been really hot at night but bbt low as well how very odd

selina37 · 21/02/2021 20:12

@sickofthisyear same reason I like a soft cup 😂 less mess!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 20:15

Just a thought it says on that website that co-q10 600mg is what should be taken, but we know ubiquinol is more easily absorbed and also a lot more expensive so I'm wondering if I'm better with 100-200mg of ubiquinol or 600mg of co-q10 🤔

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 20:22

Probably yeah @Marvellouslymadmum, I think @Kitekat81 said she started off lower and is building up to 400mg. Some people have mentioned insomnia on it too, so it might be worth starting lower in case you experience that?

I said to my husband tonight that we'll do his next SA and then increase the ubiquinol dosage if no change.

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 20:31

@M4v3r1ck yeah I seem to be within the "normal" time range but just this weird super low progesterone. Trying to tackle it myself while I wait for my bloody referral!

I'm sure I heard about that IVF study too. It just makes sense to me, less escapage!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 20:31

@thislittlebird yes actually I remember her saying! I think I'll wait until I've had my first lot of tests and go from there, hoping to get the oh booked in fur an as soon too!

Kitekat81 · 21/02/2021 20:49

@Misty84 what?! That is not what I had in mind at all! I'm not sure if I fancy acupuncture after all if they might do that. Not that I think I'll be getting it. @thislittlebird the acupuncturist took my booking on Thursday, sent me a new patient form on Friday, and then cancelled my appointment on Saturday. He said something about maybe being able to do it with a medical referral, so I'll look into that. He was the second acupuncturist I'd asked as the first said she wasn't allowed to take on new patients during the lockdown. So I'm really not sure what is allowed at the moment 🤷‍♀️

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 21:15

@Misty84 @Kitekat81 from this post it sounds like they can be quite variable depending on the practitioner and at least we didn’t come home with seeds in our ears, I guess? Confused
www.mumsnet.com/Talk/infertility/2241558-What-are-your-acupuncture-experiences

Mine was relaxing, I can’t really explain it though. It was breathing and needles and a bit of music, but somehow I did feel chilled after (and the next day I suppose) but it was vaguely weird at the same time.

The lady I went to is trained in massage too, might book her for that one day in the near future.

Misty84 · 21/02/2021 21:44

@thislittlebird That post about seeds in the ears was hilarious! And twice a week at £160...gosh😱

I did have reflexology before lockdown, only one session but it was relaxing at least. Just can’t afford these things on an indefinite basis though 😔

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 21:56

Honestly @Misty84 I was cracking up that they both left with seeds and needles for £160. Some practitioners must be a bit lesser than others, I guess. Confused

It is expensive which is why it’s important to find the right person for you. Maybe jack this one in because it didn’t sound great and do some more research, speak to them about treatment in advance etc and see what you think after that.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 22:04

I am a fully qualified massage therapist (as well as nails and beauty) had my own salon when we went into the first lockdown but decided to shut it down rather than pay rent for nothing which I'm glad now with how long it's gone on for! I've never had acupuncture or reflexology but when I was learning we all practiced on each other and the most relaxing thing hands down is a hot stone massage! Omg I'd never been so relaxed ever, it's really good for releasing toxins from your body too so could definitely be a good one for you ladies once we are allowed to return to such things. I would say probably a more reasonable one as well, depending on where you are and who you go to it can be anywhere from £35-£75 for a full body hour-1.5 hour treatment, you can even have them with essential oils too

climbershell · 21/02/2021 22:28

I actually have a pineapple , so just eaten 1/6 🤞😁

Geriatric1234 · 22/02/2021 06:09

@Misty84 @Kitekat81@thislittlebird This was my first time having acupuncture and AF just started overnight (all good, think we missed Ov anyway as I wasn’t tracking in first full post MC cycle AND DH had sciatica Grin) and this period is an absolute dream compared to before.

Normally I’m on max doses of codeine and ibuprofen from 2-3 days before and the first 49 hours. Not great for fertility. So midwife suggested I try it and truly I’m floored by the difference. I’ve had two, half doses of codeine so far. No ibuprofen and I was able to get back to sleep. This is the best AF I’ve had in 20 years.

I did wonder if I had the MC to thank but that’s was dismissed by fertility consultant. There’s so much evidence around acupuncture improving blood flow to that area that I think it’s possibly worth shopping around to find one you like, at least for one more session. In mine he placed around 10 - 12 needles on ankles/legs/wrists and abdomen and then in 2 of the 4 sessions I had he pointed a gentle heat lamp on the ab area. He left for the about 20 minutes in each session when I went on a lovely trippy daydream.

I’m sure it’s just a question of different approaches.

That said, I’m not being paid to promote acupuncture or anything! Grin So I’m sure a lovely hot stone massage as @Marvellouslymadmum suggested would be much nicer if it’s pure relaxation you’re after. Smile xxx

Pamparam · 22/02/2021 08:40

That sounds really great @Geriatric1234! I’d love a bit of trippy daydreaming. Not done anything that could be described as trippy in about 20 years 😂

I’ve officially lost the plot, despite only giving it one shot this month, on the day after I got my static smiley no less, and trying not to symptom spot… I have spotted all the symptoms! and decided to use a test I found in my cupboard that expired in mid 2019. Obviously it was negative. Obviously I’m now wondering whether it was faulty, even though the chances of a different result with even a brand-new test would be practically zero 🤦🏻‍♀️ AF due tomorrow so Will know soon enough!

climbershell · 22/02/2021 09:30

Just to say I read to get the benefits of pineapple, you need to eat on an empty stomach. So that was my breakfast today instead of my usual Berry & oat smoothie, I'll wait and hour or so to have that 🙂

Misty84 · 22/02/2021 09:32

@Pamparam It’s crazy what TTC does to us! Every month I tell myself I won’t be symptom spotting, but come the time it’s just so hard not to notice things and read into it! I never learn...

Loladoodle · 22/02/2021 09:53

@selina37 I take b complex as well as the 50mg b6 also. Af dragging in here, shortest cycle I’ve had in a while... meh!

thislittlebird · 22/02/2021 09:58

I could really do with a hot stone massage or any kind of massage, just waiting to be able to book one. Want to go for a spa day but not sure about all that heat on dh’s swimmers 😐

My breakfast was weetabix with supplements Confused. I had to grind the L-arginine down, I couldn’t swallow it well yesterday.

I hate hate hate the tww because it makes me lose the plot and my periods have been weird the last few months and unpredictable in terms of symptoms. I think (hope?) it’s stress messing with my hormones and causing trouble. Hoping @Geriatric1234’s experience is similar for me and I get a better time of it this month. I don’t normally get bad PMS (just a migraine) but the last few months it’s been so drawn out, cravings, extreme hunger, falling asleep in the evenings. Never used to be this bad.

My bloody ovulation stick failed this morning, probably because I flooded it or shook it around accidentally and I refused to use another one so stuck in yesterday’s instead lol. Too expensive for two per day. I’m pretty sure I’m not at peak yet anyway, I got EWCM for the first time this cycle which is usually a few days before I ovulate.

Pamparam · 22/02/2021 10:05

@thislittlebird I think it’s definitely a result of the times/ season and pervading Pandemic induced low (or higher!) level depression. I certainly feel more tired/drained than usual and PMS bad mood seems worse. Stuck at home with only ourselves for company so why not fixate on (imagined) symptoms 🙄

I hope there’s some glimmer of hope I. Today’s news that will help all our moods generally but since it’s already all been leaked, perhaps not.

thislittlebird · 22/02/2021 10:57

I hope it’s just that @Pamparam but my wonky progesterone and change in my migraines makes me worry. Hoping it’ll improve now I’ve started taking supplements and now acupuncture too. The weird periods just make me even more stressed.

I really want to go on our low key break we’ve got booked, already rescheduled it once but I need a change of scenery lol

selina37 · 22/02/2021 17:13

@Loladoodle yep my AF made an appearance here today. 😞 I had a shortish cycle last month too, so cycle twin, apologies for I may have set you up for yours!

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 17:28

So unfortunately I have been having cramping ans spotting. Dont another test and barely a line. Looks like another early loss 😔 anyone know where we go from here ? I have had 2 early mc's ans one end of 1st trimester miscarriage back in August. I had a mc 8 years ago , followed by 2 children so dont know if its bad luck or a problem 😔 feeling really down Xx

MgW1 · 22/02/2021 17:29

Sorry for the typos!

Kitekat81 · 22/02/2021 17:31

Who was it who was using a ferti-lily cup thing? I decided to bite the bullet and buy one as it's one of the few things I haven't tried yet. I don't know if I'm going to be brave enough to use it though! It just seems such a weird thing to do and not sure how I'm going to incorporate it into our dtd "routine" iykwim... Especially as I'm trying to hide the fact that I'm ovulating from my partner as he gets a bit of performance anxiety if he knows it's an important day. Due to ovulate tomorrow so need to decide fairly sharpish if I'm going to be using it this cycle! 🙈
