Mine’s the machine one (second hand from eBay) that does the two hormones @sickofthisyear. Started on cd8. I’m convinced my hormones are all wonky anyway, so it’s probably my body being difficult.

sickofthisyear · 21/02/2021 14:11

@Marvellouslymadmum sounds like a plan 👍. I wish we had an active enough sex life that I didn't need to worry about it! Last night was very much an exception! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 14:16

@sickofthisyear ours is all over the place normally! One month we will dtd a lot and another it'll be 4 times! It really all depends on the oh he suffers with anxiety and depression so that can be a big factor, he also has issues with his epididymal tube getting infections often so I'm currently trying go to convince him to ask the doc to refer him about it and get it sorted as that can be an issue for his little guys not getting released like they should!

sickofthisyear · 21/02/2021 15:32

Followed pineapple theory last time also 😁 so hoping it keeps until FW 😂

@sickofthisyear erm do I want to know what the pineapple theory is?

Misty84 · 21/02/2021 15:59

Well I wasn’t a fan of the acupuncture AT ALL. Did not expect them to hook the needles up to electricity so my whole stomach was spasming for 30 mins! The least relaxing thing I’ve ever done. Had to buy some cheese and crackers on the way home to get over the ordeal! Xx

WrongendoftheSTIX · 21/02/2021 16:06

@Misty84 the buying cheese and crackers made me lol but it sounds very unusual! I would never have known that happened either.

Sleeeeeepy · 21/02/2021 16:23

@Misty84 whaaat?! Is that normal for acupuncture?

Misty84 · 21/02/2021 16:30

@Sleeeeeepy @WrongendoftheSTIX I didn’t know it was normal either, maybe it’s not?!😭😭 There was certainly no indication that was going to be part of it! Had a hot lamp over my stomach as well. I ovulated a few days ago and if there was any success I feel it’s been killed off now!!🙈😬

Loladoodle · 21/02/2021 16:32

@Misty84 😱 I was keen to try acupuncture but that sounds very strange 😱

Loladoodle · 21/02/2021 16:33

Cheese and crackers on the other hand... 😋

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 16:33

Jesus that did not happen to me @Misty84

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 16:41

@Misty84 I don't think that's a normal acupuncture session! Maybe some strange thing that some think is good for fertility - the heat lamp makes sense to warm you uterus and even the electricity as it sounds like one of those things you put in to tone your muscles which puts them into spasm and they do say your uterus contracting like an orgasm is good for helping the little guys find their target 🤷🏼‍♀️ you never know it may be a good thing! And cheese and crackers are a great idea, but if comfort food lol

Misty84 · 21/02/2021 16:57

@Marvellouslymadmum oh thanks, that does reassure me a bit (surely their job to do that though?!) and yes I always turn to cheese and crackers in times of crisis!
Not sure I can continue doing it, it’s not exactly cheap for something that I don’t enjoy😕 and they were trying to do the big up-sell of buying 6 sessions at once🙄 and said I must have it weekly. No chance!!

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 17:12

Hmmm yeah doesn’t sound like a great place @Misty84. Mine didn’t so try to upsell, she said she’d book me in when she was back from leave and see how I got on from there, but she suggested every other week might be good initially and then less going forward, from what I recall.

Imo if you’re about to connect someone to electric you might want to clarify what’s about to happen/check they’re ok with it/maybe don’t do that on the first session Hmm

Apparently it’s a legit thing, just had a google, but I really doubt it’s a beginners thing.

This is the theory @Marvellouslymadmum. Did it on last BFP anyway! I can't eat too much of it though- pretty tough!
I also subscribe to the 'legs up' for 15 mins theory 😁 just turn around and lie the wrong way in bed with legs up on wall/headboard. Is suprisingly comfy... 😂 DH thinks it's hilarious.

selina37 · 21/02/2021 17:29

@Loladoodle and @thislittlebird ah thank you re the b6! I'll stick to 50mg, so will cut them in half!

I've also got B complex to take, so there's a little B6 in that too, together with the other B vitamins, which I heard should be taken all together for them to work properly.

IF a BFP came along, do you keep taking that much B6, to keep the progesterone up? I heard the word progesterone stems from 'pro-gestation' and I like that!! 🙂

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 18:03

@Misty84 I guess it's like most things, different people have different approaches! I would've thought they'd tell you first though so you knew what to expect I mean it's hardly the relaxing experience you were expecting!

@sickofthisyear well I never knew that! Might buy a pineapple 🤔 funnily enough I did do the legs up thing when ttc my now teenage children however I've since read it's a myth and you just need to stay laying down for 10 mins after so I've just been doing that, may revert to the legs up instead haha

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 19:28

Yeah I heard that too @selina37 but I didn’t get the b complex because I’ve got so many as is lmao. I’m going to have to think about how I take them/in what pattern and dosage etc. Don’t want to overwhelm the body Confused

It’s a good question about continuing, one to look into (not that I expect a bfp which is probably why I haven’t investigated it)

@Marvellouslymadmum I try to lay down with or without legs in the air briefly, depending on my mood. I just think staying still for a bit must help, you know? Because gravity and all that.

climbershell · 21/02/2021 19:36

I stay laying in bed 20 mins, sometime legs up sometimes not. I think the legs up thing is an old wives tale but makes sense to stay laying and not stand up right away

I do a 10 min core workout 3 times a week. I hadn't done one for a couple days so certain last night was right ovary pain not my core but now (15 min after workout) I feel twinge left ovary position... Now I doubt myself of last night lol

Geriatric1234 · 21/02/2021 19:42

@M4v3r1ck YES!! I don’t track temperatures but I must say I’ve been seriously overheating this month so pretty sure that’s why.

@sickofthisyear Thank you for explaining the OpK logic. I never managed a dark line with my cheapo tests last month, just picked up the Cb ones (still not sure they’re the right type) so your info is way more than helpful than the instructions! Grin

@Misty84 Blimey!! My acupuncturist didn’t use a current, but my DH recently had treatment for sciatica and his did. He also said it felt reallllly weird and not relaxing like mine was, but the next day he was off pain meds so it seems to have done something!

AF due tomorrow, 2nd cycle post MC, so am planning a first “proper” attempt this month. Brace! Xx

Pamparam · 21/02/2021 19:44

The two times I’ve been pregnant before I did legs in the air so if it ain’t broke... although after my mmc I did wonder if that might have helped a dodgy sperm reach the egg first... 😂 could just have easily have been a dodgy egg of course!

Pamparam · 21/02/2021 19:45

The electrified needles doesn’t sound like a form of acupuncture I’d enjoy either... but I like your solution @Misty84

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 19:55

@thislittlebird yes I think that's the general consensus, just to stop gravity for a bit lol

M4v3r1ck · 21/02/2021 20:02

You ladies are making me hungry for cheese, crackers, and pineapple! 🤣🤣🤣 hope you're ok after that experience @Misty84 🙉

I've also been laying low as much as possible after DTD - sometimes even just falling asleep if it's just before bed! I'm sure it was an IVF study that reported that women lying down (no legs up or anything) had higher success rates vs those who walked around! 🤔

@thislittlebird thanks for the supplement link! 😃 I read earlier this week that CD 10-17 Is the usual range for ovulation, so sounds like you're within that! However, it did say that lots of women fall just outside this range! I think our bodies just like to torment us! 🤷🏻‍♀️

@Marvellouslymadmum @sickofthisyear funny i wondered about the whole test twice a day thing, and maybe that's why I missed my peak! I just didn't want to be pissing hunners of sticks up the wall! 🤪🤦🏻‍♀️ When do you all test on the cheap OPKs btw? I was certain you were to do it at lunchtime, but CB makes you do first pee and I much prefer that as urine less dilute!

@Geriatric1234 omg I've been so hot too, yet my BBT has largely been low?! Wtaf is going on! 🤪🙈
