Yeah what @MgW1 said. I only take the evening primrose oil before likely ovulation and then stop until cd1 again. We bought pre-seed but I hate the environmental waste of all those applicators so I try to save it for the peak days and use conceive plus other days.

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/02/2021 20:27

@thislittlebird that is interesting! We like rhod Gilbert so will watch it at some point, but I don't think the oh is quite ready for it yet 😂 he will be 40 on Wednesday but had problems when ttc with his ex partner years ago which is why we suspect though they managed it in the end. He's been taking pregnacare conception for a month now though and eating more healthily so we will see what happens when he has an sa

MgW1 · 20/02/2021 20:29

@thislittlebird
I stopped epo because it delayed ovulation , has it effected yours at all?? Alnd yes all the applicators seem excessive , im sure you could wash one ?!! 🤣x

climbershell · 20/02/2021 20:31

Ok thank you, I'll look into it

We have preseed and used the last couple times. I all of a sudden have right pelvic pain, along with ewcm I believe we've actually timed dtd perfectly this cycle. Will dtd tomorrow too for good measure

climbershell · 20/02/2021 20:31

Sorry we have conceive plus

thislittlebird · 20/02/2021 20:41

Let ha know how his SA goes @Marvellouslymadmum but yeah, I think most men might need to work up to watching the show. My other half suggested it after I’d watched it once and told him it was funny and addressed the topic well.

I tried washing boil them @MgW1 and the water won’t come out lmao. Got bored of trying to dry them and thought maybe they tell you not to reuse for this reason Confused

I’m really not sure if it’s delayed my ovulation because I only tracked my bbt last month and took it last month. My cycle was exactly the right length for me last month so I assume not? I wasn’t taking it in December and my ovulation delayed itself but that was probably stress. I’ll see how long it takes me to get Lh peak on CB this month. I know supplements can do this and it’s hard to know which one when you’re on a few. But I had no trouble with Seven Seas delaying ovulation which I know some people have trouble with when on the multis.

MgW1 · 20/02/2021 20:58

@thislittlebird
Iv sacked of the vits other than b12 and folic as its not helped me so far. I dont think it delays it for everyone , epo and pre seed helped me get preg last time but ended up CP but i may try it again. With last time i had a strong line at 10 dpo... this time is a slow burner, don't know how it will pan out. Been feeling so anxious today xx

Geriatric1234 · 20/02/2021 21:37

Ahhh wb @M4v3r1ck! Thank you! Yes, all a bit of a relief!! I’m in tww kiiiindaa as we had a half-hearted go as the DH had sciatica so I didn’t force the issue. Was also my first post MC cycle so figured I wouldn’t take it too seriously. AF due Monday and I’ve been virtually unconscious with fatigue the last week, so I’d be floored if it’s a BFP, but you never know. Not sure the DH’s swimmers were up to much this month given all the pain meds, so if they made it to my cervix I’d be amazed Grin xx

@thislittlebird “ngl still a lot of pressure” made me LOL!

Acupuncture ladies: let me know how you get on as I’m wondering if my being mega-zonked is related to this being my first full cycle post treatment.

And acupuncturists are allowed to work in Tier 4, the British Acupuncture Home page says their members are allowed to decide who/when they treat, so i think you just got a nervous on @Kitekat81. If anyone is in Berkshire I can recommend mine. Xx

Geriatric1234 · 20/02/2021 21:40

Oh, and I saw a lovely, positive post on another thread about ttc #1 over 40. A lady had her first at 36, second at 39/40 and a “surprise” at 48!

Fertility is totally elastic and random and extraordinary, so (though we all do) there’s always hope! Xxx

Geriatric1234 · 20/02/2021 21:47

Quick Q: the extreme tiredness of the week meant I used an errant, cheapo dipstick pg test I had left over from the MC )to confirm hcg levels had dropped) today. Not even a faint line. AF due Monday...do we think I am safe to assume that -ve is real and start hitting the painkillers for my cramps, or should I be a proper grown-up and wait until AF..err...flows? I’m just thinking I’d have at least a faint line by 13dpo even on a cheap test? Or is that naive?

Marvellouslymadmum · 20/02/2021 22:10

@thislittlebird I'm really nit sure if I should start adding more things to the pregnacare conception and extra iron I already take or stick with it until after my day 21 test and see what they say 🤔 so far in the list if things to add for me is epo b6 ubiquinol pomegranate juice grapefruit juice nuts full fat milk and I'm already keepin my feet warm and have cut out my ice crunching (been a habit since I was pregnant with my now 16 yo son eating ice and a lot if it) as that keeps me quite cold! Oh and is magnesium another one?

The other half is in pregnacare conception, b complex, c, d, e, magnesium, iron, and zinc 😂 plus a couple of other concoctions that he takes for the ibs!

@Geriatric1234 loving that positive note! My mum had my sister very easily at 38 and my gran had my mum at 38 too so hopefully it's nit too late for me! On the hcg front I've read forums previously (when I was a month late and still getting bfn) that there are a lot of people that doesn't even get a bfp until weeks after their missed af some people up to 20w pregnant etc but I'm sure some normal paracetamol would be ok

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 00:07

I’m absolutely crying at your to do list @Marvellouslymadmum lmao. I say get your tests and see where you’re at and then target what supplements you might want to add then. I would never have even known about b6 if I didn’t know I had low progesterone for example. My understanding is the only basic ones you need is vitamin d and folic acid and I did start with those and lately I keep adding 🥴

Well @Geriatric1234...I cannot lie lol. It’s honestly too much for me but here we are and less frequent certainly didn’t get us anywhere Hmm

Do you think you’re zonked because of the acupuncture, geriatric? I think it might have induced a migraine in me but I don’t know for sure.

Fingers crossed this time is a better outcome @MgW1. I’ve honestly only added supplements after reading stuff and just hoping they’ll help. The one I’m really hoping will help is the b6 for the low progesterone.

My mum had me at 36, but I’m past that already so that’s annoying.

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 00:26

@thislittlebird 😂 it feels like I have a whole shopping list of things just for ttc! I think like you say I'll wait to see what the tests come back like, it's only2.5 weeks away though feels like forever 🤦🏼‍♀️

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 00:39

@Marvellouslymadmum Honestly it feels so crazy when you say what you’re taking out loud but I’ll give it a go since we tried and nothing happened pre-extra supplements. 2.5 weeks feels like ages but it’s nothing, it’ll be here soon enough!

What does the magnesium do for men? My husband is on impryl and apparently you’re supposed to take it on its own but I’ve got him on ubiquinol, omega 3, and he already took b12 and vit c. I saw another man taking it with ubiquinol etc and it worked well for him so 🤷‍♀️

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 00:45

@thislittlebird apparently it can increase motility and production but he was actually already taking it for restful sleep anyway 🤷🏼‍♀️

Misty84 · 21/02/2021 06:41

@Geriatric1234 Ahh that’s good about the woman on your other forum, it’s reassuring to hear things like that!
My aunt had 4 children when she was between the ages 37-48! The last one was a surprise!

Pamparam · 21/02/2021 07:48

@Geriatric1234 did you read the lady who had the surprise at 48, her husband was taking this stuff every time she got pregnant?

www.menshealth.com/fitness/a26766609/shilajit/

Might have to get the OH to get some, he loves weird supplements that may or may not improve workouts 😂

Geriatric1234 · 21/02/2021 07:58

@Pamparam I did!! I looked it up and it looks horrifying 🤣 I immediately realised there was zero chance of me convincing my DH to take it 🤣**

Every day there’s a new supplement, but I did like how random this one was!!

**obvs still gonna try because WHY NOT?! 🤣

climbershell · 21/02/2021 08:17

Haha, other than the nuts and seeds which I'll keep a lifestyle change anyway, I'm just on the standard preconception tablets - multivitamin with folic acid, iron etc (was on
pregnacare vitabiotics before conception but switched to tescos own because they have exactly the same stuff in them, qty changes a tiny bit on some stuff but 400g folic acid and they're a lot cheaper), plus omega 3 and upped my water/squash intake and limited my caffeine to basically nothing

My other half takes standard multivitamins but he's been taking them for years

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 08:19

This reminds me of the acupuncturist recommending Chinese herbs when I was there the other day. Not sure he will be up for some “men’s treasure” or whatever she called it.

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 08:20

Internet @Marvellouslymadmum, I’ll have to google it

thislittlebird · 21/02/2021 08:20

*interesting

MgW1 · 21/02/2021 08:24

Line is a bit darker today which is reassuring. 1 week late but due to ovulating late think im approx 15 / 16 dpo. Last time when i had a chemical i got a negative at 18dpo and AF 2 days later. So anxious!! I shall try and distract myself today with yet another walk xx

Fredsmama · 21/02/2021 08:40

@MgW1 I can see it getting darker 🤞🏻!!

climbershell · 21/02/2021 09:15

@MgW1 definitely getting darker. When was the first one taken?
