@Makingnumber2 oh my lovely I’m so sorry to read this. Sending a big squeeze and a handhold. It’s possible you could differ a few days on ovulation and conception and I’m really hoping that’s the case for you.
I would still keep the booking in appointment, it’ll be good to speak to the midwife the two days before your scan. You could book somewhere else but if it’s a little too early to tell you might get the same result and then have double stress? But then the flip side is if you get a private scan in a week it may see something and give you peace of mind. Why not take a day or two just to process and go from there though? Give yourself some time to work through your thoughts and really look after yourself. Take care 💚 xx

Makingnumber2 · 21/02/2021 16:36

Thank you @Bluey18 @Sydney1986x and @Oilyoilyoilgob for your kind words. I really appreciate them.
I'm not really sure how I'm going to get through the next 12 days sane- it's like the TWW but worse (who knew that could even be possible eh?).

I did look at another clinic @eloiseislost but then thought Oily might be right and that appointment would still not be able to definitively confirm anything either way.

I will keep my booking appointment as some of you have advised.

I think in my head I've decided it's a missed miscarriage. From what I read about sac measurements etc. before I stepped away from google I think the chances are looking around 1% of the pregnancy being viable. I just hope things don't drag out too long.

DH is very quiet- don't think he knows what to say really. I feel terrible that I made a big song and dance about BFP on Valentine's day and a week later he gets this news. He's gone down to MIL with my DD but I've excused myself because I didn't think I could sit and pretend everything's fine and talk about my sister's pregnancy and my sister in law's pregnancy (because MIL always asks and likes to update me etc). So I've just been sitting in bed and watching old seasons of Ru Paul's Drag Race which I'm finding oddly therapeutic.

Sydney1986x · 21/02/2021 16:42

@Makingnumber2 don’t feel terrible, why wouldn’t you have shared your wonderful news on valentines? If this is a MM this is not your fault so don’t beat yourself up like it is! It sounds like it was a wise option to stay at home and watch mama Ru!

I LOVE RPDR... off topic but who is your fave queen? Controversial but I loved Sharon needles back on her season (cant stand her now) & Adore Delano. Obvs Bianca Del Rio is a legend too 🙊.

I really hope the next couple of weeks fly for you! X

Oilyoilyoilgob · 21/02/2021 19:58

@Makingnumber2 oh please please don’t feel bad or guilty.
Easier said than done I know. I’d done a little baby pack for my husband and pretended all day I felt my period was coming, until he got home and gave home the pack. I then spent the next four days saying ‘I’ve got our baby in me’ so excited. I felt absolutely awful and guilty once I’d started miscarrying......but you know what, why wouldn’t we tell them and be so excited?
We should be absolutely joyous when telling them and please, please try not to carry the burden of guilt along with everything else. You did a beautiful thing telling him on valentines with the very best in hope, faith, happiness and love.

This isn’t your fault, not at all and if it is a missed miscarriage nothing you could’ve done would change this.

Right now enjoy watching Ru Paul, I LOVE drag race-get immersed in everything with Mama Ru! Are you watching the new ones on Netflix and I player?
I loved Violet Chachkis sense of absolute style, her music video 😱 I really liked Sasha velour. Love nina flowers, Raven, adore Delano and how gorgeous is Valentina 😍

I really do hope that you are ok over the next few days, really look after yourself 💚 xx

Makingnumber2 · 22/02/2021 06:23

Thanks @Sydney1986x and @Oilyoilyoilgob- you’re both right, it would have been weirder not to tell him- he would have had to know eventually! I’ve been awake since 4.30- honestly don’t know how I’m going to get through the next 11 days until this sodding scan.

Mama Ru was excellent medicine I must say! In terms of favourite Queen I absolutely loved Nina Flowers too and am also really liking Raven so far in series 2. I also thought Ongina was great from season 1 and Pandora’s Box from season 2 or was she 3? I really liked Jaida Essence Hall from last season and from this seasons picks I like Utica for general weirdness and Rosé.
I need to start the new UK season too at some point so that will keep me busy!

ComebackQueen · 22/02/2021 19:46

@Makingnumber2 sorry to hear you didn’t get much reassurance at the scan. I reiterate the earlier comments, maybe you ovulated later than originally thought.

I’d definitely echo @eloiseislost stay away from Dr Google and if possible, find a private clinic for a scan.
Did they ask you for any bloods? Isn’t there some test they do to check your hormones are doubling? That would give you a better indication within a few days.

I am positive that all will be well for your second scan. Sending you positive vibes and a big virtual HUG!

Oilyoilyoilgob · 22/02/2021 20:52

@Makingnumber2 yes he’d have definitely had to have known at some point! That’s a good way to look at it 😊

My husband goes on bloody period watch, that day I got a bfp he rang me twice to ask if I’d started so nearly ruined it, good job I can be secretive 👀

Ooh I loved ongina, she was like a little doll. I’m loving Utica too, I like the difference and quirks, and she seems kind 😍 I like Rosè now she’s relaxing a little-good sense of humour, I laugh at the cutting comments 🤭

Actually yes that’s a great point from @ComebackQueen about your blood and it’s hcg level. They did mine at hospital and I didn’t have to wait long for the results, an hour max. Might be worth a try to see if that could offer an answer?

I hope you’re feeling ok makingnumber2 xx

Oilyoilyoilgob · 22/02/2021 20:55

@MrsKin90 I hope you had some joy with getting booked for a blood test and your cycle is going nicely 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I had mine this morning and with the lovely health anxiety, it reminding me of my miscarriage (last bloods were x2 lots in a&e) and still upset over my gorgeous cat, I started crying in the room. I had a lovely nurse but I bet she thought ‘bloody hell its only 9.15’ 😏

She was very kind and the blood is done so let’s see. I’m a bit nervous about the results now husbands sperm came back ok. The pressure, gulp 😬

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 07:44

Morning all! Sorry I haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. I hope you're all OK!? Woke up really early this morning, and can't get back to sleep, so going to use the time wisely and have a read through all the messages on here to try and catch up with everything that's happened x

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 08:53

Ah @bigsweetpotato so sorry to hear of your news 😢

@AdriannaP and @eloiseislost congratulations on your scans! I've got my 12w scan on the 3rrd March, but dh can't come to it, pesky covid! We're therefore booked in for a private scan the day before, 2nd. Only aa week away, but feels like an age!

For those who say they've not really had any symptoms, don't worry, I've not either. Other than an aversion to eggs, and a need to eat crunchy foods every now and again, I've felt pretty normal. The thirst, and dry mouth though is really surprising! 1st thing in the morning, my mouth is like a desert! Like being hungover, but without the night before "fun"! X

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 09:06

@Makingnumber2 so sorry to hear you're having a horrid time. I'll keep everything crossed for you that it is just a case of dates being out by a couple of days. I know then next week and a bit will take an age to come, but hopefully it will give you the reassurance you need. I agree with what the others have said, a couple of days this early on really makes a massive difference in what they can see on the scan I believe. Will keep everything crossed for you x

Makingnumber2 · 23/02/2021 10:19

Thanks @ComebackQueen and @Birchybirch for your kind words.
The scan was at a private place so no option for bloods etc. My friend said I should phone EPU but I just think they'll say 'watch and wait for next private re-scan'. I emailed the perinatal midwife team I'm supposed to be booking in with next Tues to see if they had any advice and waiting to hear back. I might also call the Tommy's helpline as a friend said they have trained midwives working it and they might have advice. Just trying to get on with work today- but finding it hard to focus and still not sleeping well so just so tired.
Glad you are feeling generally well @Birchybirch aside from the hangover dry mouth! Lack of symptoms can feel so unnerving- but I do think it's more common than we think. How many weeks are you now?

@Oilyoilyoilgob you poor thing- it isn't surprising you felt so emotional going to get them done today. I am sure the nurse didn't judge you at all- they will appreciate that for many TTC is not an easy road. I hope you're feeling better now it's all over and done with and that your results will come back swiftly.
Yes @MrsKin90 hope you've managed to get booked in ok and the clinic were happy for you to book 2 provisional dates etc.

MrsKin90 · 23/02/2021 14:01

Thanks ladies! I've booked in for Tuesday next week now thankfully. I'll be 8dpo since I only ovulated yesterday (err hopefully anyway still awaiting BBT confirmation).

@Oilyoilyoilgob bless you having a cry. I don't blame you. Fingers crossed your results are helpful 🤞

@Makingnumber2 did the private scan people not recommend going to the NHS? Hopefully the midwives reply saying you should go in to check! I didn't realise it was a private one.

Makingnumber2 · 23/02/2021 14:38

@MrsKin90 oh that's fab news! Hope BBT gives you the confirmation you need and then it's all systems go!
No the sonographer didn't say they would refer to the NHS, she said they would do a free re-scan in 10 days (ended up being 12 due too availability). So not sure what to make of that all really- assume she couldn't be 100% sure of the situation so wanted to clarify before making NHS referral? Although you'd think they'd be keen to bump me over to NHS as it would save them money! Maybe she just took pity on me because I was on my own and sobbing- or wanted me out asap Wink

Oilyoilyoilgob · 23/02/2021 16:03

@MrsKin90 that fabulous news that you are booked in and that you’ve ovulated (Hopefully 🤞🏻) yay 🥳
Aw thank you, yes I’m hoping they’re ok results. I’m a bit nervous now.

@Makingnumber2 could it perhaps be worth a call to your epu? See if they can offer any advice? Xx

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 18:26

@Makingnumber2 ah I think phoning the Tommy's helpline is a really good idea. They will be able to offer advice and/or maybe direct you to someone else who can help you.

It depends how you count it. I'm 11w today according to the NHS (1st day of last period). Thanks to opks though I know I ovulated really late, and my cycle was 5 weeks instead of 4 for some reason, so I think I'm 10w tomorrow (wed) x

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 18:32

@oilyoilyoilgob just seen your post from yesterday. I'm certain the nurse won't have thought anything of you getting upset, other than sympathy of course.

I really wish we were able to meet up, so I could give you all the biggest hugs (sorry to any non-huggers).

To those SI-ing or in your tww, I really do wish you all the luck in the world! Those of you waiting on test results, I hope the wait is short, and the results are a huge help x

Oilyoilyoilgob · 23/02/2021 18:44

@Birchybirch that made me cry 💚 Again. I’m really, really emotional and teary right now, I’d love a big hug (I’m a hugger) my husband is good at them but I’d love a group hug, god knows this group deserves it! That’s kind, thank you. She was lovely, just really lovely.
My clients (when I can see them 😒) sometimes have a cry and I never judge them. She was a lovely lady and the blood test was fine-it’s the anxiety before it. Need to get help for it.

Anyways on a brighter note, congratulations on reaching the 10-11 week mark 🥰 I’m delighted for you! Not long for your twelve week scan, and it’s great you know your ovulation dates for when you go!
I really hope you’re feeling ok 😊

The same for @eloiseislost and @AdriannaP I hope you are both well xx

eloiseislost · 23/02/2021 22:31

@Oilyoilyoilgob I'm well, thank you! 🙂
Have another scan on Sunday, praying the blob is growing as it should. 🙏🏼💕
I'm glad your bloods are now done, I completely understand the anxiety and all the emotions that are brought on the surface! I hope you get good results, I have a feeling you'll be fine! ☺️

@Birchybirch I can't believe you're almost in the second trimester, time flies! 😃 Glad to hear you are doing well! 😘

Birchybirch · 23/02/2021 23:27

Aww @oilyoilyoilgob sorry, didn't want to make you cry! Hopefully though hugs aren't too far away, now that lockdown is (hopefully) coming to an end....

@eloiseislost ah thank you! Yeah my friend pointed out that at 10w, I'm already a quarter of the way through, crazy! Oooh will keep everything crossed that your little bean is growing well! X

Oilyoilyoilgob · 24/02/2021 07:04

@Birchybirch no no these were tears of ‘that is so lovely’ 😭😊😙
I’ve been hugely emotional the last few days, I honestly feel like it’s really bad pmt but I’m not due my period yet! Crying at adverts, old people walking their old dogs, if someone smiles when I’ve left them out at a junction in the car 😳 If we had a group hug I’d be a snivelling heap 😄

A quarter of the way through, isn’t that crazy? Aww it’s so lovely for you xx

@eloiseislost so glad you’re well! Great news 😊 thats fantastic you have another scan in for the weekend, I’m sending lots of positive thoughts and advanced hugs for it all being ok. How far along will you be by Sunday? It’s so exciting ☺️💚

Aw well hopefully you’re right re bloods. The opks show I have an ovulation peak and my periods are regular so here’s hoping. I’m worried about my age, 40 this year, and weight still needs to come down as if we need medical help these are the two things I know they’ll say will go against me. I can’t turn back the clock but I can keep trying to lose weight!

Xx

Makingnumber2 · 24/02/2021 08:45

@Birchybirch that's so exciting you're a quarter of the way through and nearly into second tri as well. Hope you're not feeling too grotty with pregnancy symptoms! And if you are, lots of women say theirs lifted with 2nd tri and felt like new women- so that is something to look forward to.
@eloiseislost pleased to hear you're feeling good and doing well also. Will be keeping everything crossed for your Sunday scan that little bean is growing nicely and doing all the things they should be doing!

@Oilyoilyoilgob you're absolutely right that our ages none of us control, so all we can do is focus on and work on what we can control. Losing weight in the year we've had with lockdowns etc. has been so tough- so if you've been losing anything in this time you've done brilliantly in my opinion!

ComebackQueen · 24/02/2021 15:08

@Makingnumber2 ah gotcha, didn’t realise it was a private scan, as great as they are when things are clear cut, nothing beats the thoroughness of the NHS when you’re in the system.

Try keep yourself busy in the meantime, easier said than done and in a less than two weeks fingers crossed everything is as it should be.

@Oilyoilyoilgob

Fingers crossed whilst you are awaiting their blood work results, hopefully it’ll give some answers and definitely focus on the things you can control.

@MrsKin90 Good luck for Tuesday. I’m hoping I’ll be reporting back with blood tests being ordered soon, chased up my referral and i have been triaged but I am looking at end of July for my first appointment.

@Birchybirch @eloiseislost and @AdriannaP - sending positive vibes and glad to hear your respective pregnancies are going well.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 24/02/2021 17:12

@ComebackQueen happy birthday for this month to you and your husband and I hope your SI results in a big fat positive pregnancy test!
That’s great news you’re triaged and (hoping you won’t need it due to a bfp 😃) that you’re booked in for July-it’ll fly by.

Good luck on your bloods too, the ball is rolling for us all. We can all compare results 😅 xx

ComebackQueen · 25/02/2021 11:51

@Oilyoilyoilgob thank you soooo much. Let’s hope in less than two weeks I’ll be POAS and celebrating along with all the rest of us ladies xx
