Hi ladies, wow I’ve missed a lot on here! 2.5 weeks and almost 15 pages of messages 🤯

@bigsweetpotato so sorry to hear about your news, it’s terrible and unfair - hope you’re healing both mentally and physically.

Congrats on all the BFPs (I think there’s been two?) and good luck to everyone in their TWW.

I’m CD25 today and can feel AF is coming - temp dropped and cramps are here. We have a fertility clinic appointment on Monday. We tried IUI in Dec and it didn’t work so we’ll talk about our options - whether we try IUI a couple more times or just move to IVF. I have also been making good progress with my vaginismus and decided to make it my priority again: during TTC it feels like you can’t control your body at all but this is the one thing I CAN control and even if it doesn’t get me closer to pregnancy, it would be great to have painless sex one say.

TTC is tough. Feeling mentally drain but trying to build resilience. Work is a good distraction atm until end of the cycle comes and then it’s difficult to stay focused on anything else. Big hugs to you all ladies!!

Oilyoilyoilgob · 17/02/2021 09:21

@MrsKin90 now that is rubbish re blood tests. I’d definitely speak to your GP and be really direct-you need these tests for referral either by nhs or privately for ivf so really impress on your gp that this needs to be done. Are they able to refer you somewhere to have them, another practice for example?

@bitheby I hope you’re feeling ok, it must be awful as well as the stress this causes the added stress of having the sperm donor at the right place and the right time due to lockdown. Hopefully as things ease up re Covid it will start to get easier. We are all with you in solidarity on how stressful this is, come here for a chat whenever you need to.

@eloiseislost your diet actually sounds really nice, I’m drooling thinking if melted cheese on pasta! Hope you are feeling ok xx

@Bizawit that’s great you are in the PMA mindset! Good luck with starting to track your heart rate. I’ve not had my Fitbit on for a week, I need to get mine back on.

@primrosechill it’s great to hear from you ☺️ You sound in a great mindset and it’s fantastic news that you’re giving yourself time to focus on your vaginismus. Wishing you the very best for your appointment on Monday and it’s so good to read you have the ball rolling on different options ☺️ Xx

Sydney1986x · 17/02/2021 12:36

AF arrived early 🥺. Back to bed I go 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Makingnumber2 · 17/02/2021 17:28

@Sydney1986x I'm so sorry- that is so crap. I hope you can spend the day hibernating in bed, watching Netflix and eating whatever you want. Have a vino tonight too. Sending a hug.

@primrosechill I'm sorry your December IUI didn't work out, but it's good you have options of continuing or doing the IVF and I hope the Monday appointment will bring you some reassurances of what next steps might look like etc. Also, it's amazing to hear you've been making progress with your vaginismus and that you're going to be prioritising it moving forward. It can't be easy but what a wonderful outcome for you to have in the future to have a pain free sex life Star

primrosechill · 17/02/2021 21:01

@Sydney1986x sorry to hear about AF coming early - mine will be here any minute so we can be cycle buddies. CD1 is the worst - hope you got to relax today!!

@Oilyoilyoilgob @Makingnumber2 thank you for the kind words of encouragement!

Hope everyone else is doing okay ❤️ So done with lockdown now - burnout and boredom are too real!!

Bluey18 · 18/02/2021 08:31

Sorry to hear AF has arrived/is probably on the way @primrosechill and @Sydney1986x. It's hard not to feel like you're in a slump for a day or two until the initial disappointment passes, I hope you are both looking after yourselves xx.

CD16 over here, which means I'll probably ovulate in the next 3 - 7 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 3 but I know it's unlikely!! DP was a bit burnt out last month, I think we might have overdone it Blush.

Bizawit · 18/02/2021 10:23

@Sydney1986x so sorry to hear your AF arrived 😢. Do your grieving and then try to remember that in just a couple of weeks you can try again 😊🤞🏻. (Easier said than done i know). I’m sure I’ll be joining you soon. 13dpo here, “officially” due tomorrow.

Ladies, I’m having some pretty intense bloating today 😩. Anyone want to speculate with me on whether this is a good/ bad sign? 🤣

Also @eloiseislost and @Makingnumber2 my RHR went up by 3 beats last night 😉. (I know I don’t have enough data to reallt tell but better than going down right?!)

MrsKin90 · 18/02/2021 10:30

@Sydney1986x so sorry to hear about AF ❤️*@Bizawit* how sure are you about your dpo? If your AF is definitely due going up by three on your RHR could be a really good sign!! I will say my rhr has done this to me TWICE and then AF came two days late, so just take it with a tiny pinch of salt. Crossing my fingers for you.

@primrosechill it sounds like you're in quite a good headspace overall. I'll be interested to hear if you decide on iui or IVF 😊

@Bluey18 I'm so glad you're here with me in the "when will I ovulate - who fucking knows" group! I hope you ovulate soon 🤞 I've decided I'm going to ovulate CD18. Just because I want to 😂 is that how it works??

MrsKin90 · 18/02/2021 10:38

@Oilyoilyoilgob I didn't think about asking if I could be referred somewhere else for them, although did ask if I could go to the hospital for them. I'll speak to my doctor Monday and let you know what she says! 😊

@primrosechill just realised your AF hasn't actually started yet sorry! Hopefully she doesn't show ❤️

eloiseislost · 18/02/2021 10:42

@Bizawit Both the bloating and the RHR rise are good signs imho! I'm surprised you haven't tested yet, my luteal phase is 11 days and I couldn't wait, how do people make it to 13DPO without testing? 😆

OP posts:
Bluey18 · 18/02/2021 11:11

@MrsKin90 Your posts always make me laugh, "When will I ovulate - who the fuck knows" will be my new catchphrase! I am willing the universe to let you ovulate CD18 haha. I think that's unrealistic for me so I will say I am going to ovulate CD19. Positive thoughts Grin

ComebackQueen · 18/02/2021 11:11

Hey everyone.

It’s time, my OPK is soooooo dark so I’m going to be doing SI.

This month has gone so slow for me, I hate having long cycles.

I’m cramping a lot so I think it’s my fertile day today and because of work pressures I haven’t used OPKs probably this month.

I think it’ll only be one SI for me this month as I’ve got deadlines coming out of my ears.

Sorry to all that think AF is arriving or has arrived.

How are the ladies doing that got their BFP’s?

Any useful tips lol

Bizawit · 18/02/2021 11:55

@MrsKin90 I'm fairly confident of my dpo - it could either by 13 or 12dpo I think.

@eloiseislost I think my luteal phase is a bit longer than most. I was so convinced I was preg at christmas, and then it turned out just to be a 16 day luteal phase :((. So I'm trying to hold off testing and just wait and see. I may crack soon though if AF doesn't come.

I'm literally sitting on my sofa working from home and my heart rate is 140!!!! This is either a very good sign, or a sign I badly need to go to the gym. (I did just drink a large coffee - possible not advisable when I'm trying to conceive..)

@ComebackQueen best of luck for the SI!! Got my fx for you.

Bluey18 · 18/02/2021 12:53

@ComebackQueen Good luck with your SI! You only need one sperm to make it! I remember the cycle I conceived my DD, with DP's issues we only managed to DTD once and it wasn't even the optimal time, it was 3/4 days before ovulation (seems ironic now that I'm having so much trouble TTC no 2!!)

I have everything crossed for you! x

MrsKin90 · 18/02/2021 17:45

@eloiseislost some people just have self control 😂❤️

@ComebackQueen one time is all it takes 🤞 have you heard any more about your referral??

@Bizawit I really hope it's a good sign for you!!

Oilyoilyoilgob · 18/02/2021 20:04

@Sydney1986x aw sorry that your period came. Look after yourself and eat and drink nice stuff xx

@Bizawit ooh hopefully a good sign for you. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻 😃

@eloiseislost I’m gonna wait ages if I think I’m pregnant 😂

@Bluey18 good luck for your upcoming ovulation and SI 😃🤞🏻

@MrsKin90 I thought if you last night while looking on my premom app. It said on 18/2 for me to rest pdg, I’d never noticed this before and thought it was some funky initials for pregnancy testing 😅 it’s actually strips you can get to test progesterone, which normally peaks at around 5 days after ovulation.
It said it’s a good tool for people who aren’t sure entirely if ovulation has happened. Just thought I’d mention it as I know you have a good range of ovulation dates!

Well my peak opks was Sat 13/2 so ovulation by Monday night. I’m doing SI again in a bit so we’d have done 7 days out of 8. My husband and his testicles are tired 😂😂😂

Bizawit · 18/02/2021 20:37

HR right down again now. Think it must have been the coffee 🙄.

Woww @Oilyoilyoilgob that’s impressive going 🤣. I normally stop by 3 days after peak. Maybe I am giving up to early? 🤔

ComebackQueen · 19/02/2021 09:20

Thanks ladies, we SI last night and I’m hoping it’s going to work as it’s both my husband and I birthday month so I’m convinced it’s going to be positive Grin

@MrsKin90 nothing yet but that reminds me I should call them on Monday, it will have been two months since the referral originally should have been sent.

I just need to make sure I have been triaged whilst on the waiting list so that when my name comes up, it goes straight to the correct fertility department.

SlowlyBecomingACatCollector · 19/02/2021 09:27

Hi everyone! I'm new here to MN, and just need some advice and positive encouragement. My period calculator shows my peak days start this Monday. I've been taking some preconception vitamins for the past moth or so, and ordered some 1mm syringes

SlowlyBecomingACatCollector · 19/02/2021 09:32

Oops! I accidentally posted this before I finished writing. Let me start again. I've been taking some preconception vitamins for the past moth or so, and ordered some 1mm syringes from Amazon. I also bought a cup, but was just wondering if a unused period Mooncup would do just as well. Do you think this will be enough for my first attempt? Any tips are helpful.
Thanks

SlowlyBecomingACatCollector · 19/02/2021 09:36

Also, I forgot to say that I bought some Conceive plus+ , as it supposedly helps the little swimmers along...? I was wondering if it is any good and if or how much I should mix with the sperm.

Oilyoilyoilgob · 19/02/2021 10:12

@Bizawit maybe it was the coffee ☹️ I’ve been two years off it now as it gave me a huge jump in heart rate and palpitations! I’ve been trying as much as possible to have decaf tea ready for if/when I become pregnant and the pg tips decaf tea is actually not bad. As soon as I have two cups of normal tea my palpitations come back 😰

Hehe well it’s good going, out best attempt was 13 days! We generally try to do it leading up to and after ovulation. As last night was 3 days after my latest projected ovulation we gave it one last shot 💦😂 I’ve quite enjoyed using the softdiscs, after the first morning panic I’ve got used to taking them out so I’d recommend them to anyone here who hasn’t tried them yet.

@SlowlyBecomingACatCollector welcome! There are many different variations on self inseminating (SI) here so you’ll get lots of info.
Generally most start on syringing the sperm out of a cup, the cups are good as the have a screw top lid. My husband gets these off amazon. Some of us leave the sperm in the cup 10-20 mins (warm by your tummy for example) to liquify more before SI. Then syringe up and inseminate. Most of us try to orgasm and lay back/pelvis tilted. I try do this for as long as possible. Some of us also try softdiscs overnight to keep the sperm near the cervix.
I have bought pre seed but haven’t used it yet. Good luck!

MrsKin90 · 19/02/2021 10:12

Hi @SlowlyBecomingACatCollector welcome 😊 I'm sorry your other thread attracted lots of assholes!! But glad you've come to join us.
A period cup is fine to use. You need to try to keep the sperm warm in between deposit and inserting just body temperature warmth.
I would say put the conceive plus inside you five minutes before you use the swimmers rather than mixing but only because I find it makes too much in the syringe or comes out of the wrong end (maybe I have dodgy syringes).

MrsKin90 · 19/02/2021 10:16

@Oilyoilyoilgob thanks for thinking of me!! Did you know the progesterone strips are super expensive?! I've looked at them before but I'm such a cheapskate 😂 gosh bet your partner is exhausted!!

@ComebackQueen it's my birthday month too! 🤞🤞🤞 Definitely chase your referral - Trust no one 😁
