@Narwhal88, unfortunately I'm already on the highest dose on the most aggressive protocol. Having said that I agree that it seems a bit premature and doesn't give me great faith in my clinic. They did say that some follicles just font have enough receptors to respond to the drugs almost no matter how high the dose. She said that I was either born with a low number of eggs or have just lost more than normal throughout my life, which leaves me with an unusually low egg reserve for my age. I think I now also fit the category of a "poor responder" they don't have many options if you are in that category. Its just really really bad luck, but that doesn't make it hurt less 😔

Crazydoglady123 · 22/02/2021 20:10

@PeanutButterBrownies that is one looooong cycle girl 😅
@notyetamumbuttrying

Crazydoglady123 · 22/02/2021 20:14

@PeanutButterBrownies that is one looooong cycle girl 😅 well done holding up!

@notyetamumbuttrying awww that's rubbish you didn't get the SA done today but at least it's still getting done and you got some information and answers on the other bits.

@Marvellouslymadmum Reign is one of my favourites on Netflix. Two points in all the series had me proper crying.

@Motherofkittens28 have you paid for a package or just one cycle (or is it Nhs)? Could it be worth getting another opinion if this cycle is unsuccessful? I'm the other way and worried I'm going to over respond after how my body reacted to Clomid and end up with OHSS 😐

crazycatlady1981 · 22/02/2021 21:56

@Motherofkittens28 I’m so sorry to hear about your scan today! There’s definitely still hope though with those 3 eggs!
So insensitive of the doctor to talk about donor eggs at this moment though. Not what you want to hear! Try and stay positive if you can.
Strangely my DH and I were talking about protein today as we’re both veggie and I realised that we might be lacking a bit in our diet and wondered if that’s what’s causing our unexplained infertility. I read you’re supposed to have 50g or more when ttc and doing Ivf and we probably only have around 20-25g a day at the moment. Planning to incorporate a whole load of different proteins into our diets!

@notyetamumbuttrying
Glad your appt went ok today! Shame about the SA, but hope it goes ok on Thursday!

Af is due tomorrow so planning on putting my feet up and binge watching the rest of bridgerton! 😬

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 22:08

@Crazydoglady123 I have paid for a package, its two fresh and unlimited frozen cycles, no idea what happens if you want to move clinics for thd second fresh cycle. Im already looking into other clinics as I think we will need to go straight to my frozen eggs from 4 years ago and I dont trust this clinic with them as they are so very precious and probably now my only chance at having my own genetic baby.

@crazycatlady1981 I've just had a crash course in protein for veggies, today I have eaten Greek yogurt mixed with protein powder, beans on spelt toast topped with chia seeds, spirulina mixed with pomegranate juice (disgusting but loads of protein), some cashews, mixed bean and kidney bean chili with wild rice, quinoa and spelt topped with chia seeds. I feel a bit sick but I'm over 60g protein today!

crazycatlady1981 · 22/02/2021 22:20

@Motherofkittens28 wow that’s impressive! Nice work! I need to do a protein supermarket shop too! I did discover a packet of nutritional yeast in the cupboard which is 50% protein so I’ll be adding that to everything! I also thought I’d have a go at making some halloumi from our local farm vending machine organic milk as I love halloumi and the left over whey is supposed to be really high in protein so I can add it to everything!

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/02/2021 22:59

@laura2093 hi, glad you got the SA done. We got results bk in two weeks but you can get them earlier than that. Dh rang up to get them and then picked up the results from the drs.
@Marvellouslymadmum you will defo be asleep by now lol! Good luck with the SA chat! You can't get referred without it.
@Narwhal88 thank you 😊 how are you?
@Crazydoglady123 yeah defo, all moving in the right direction.
@crazycatlady1981 thank you ☺️ good plan for tomorrow! Enjoy x

Just finished behind her eyes, amazing!!

@notyetamumbuttrying I am
Actually awake somehow though I did have a bit of a doze earlier 🙊 I'm going to start reign next I think thanks to the recommendations on here.

Theawkwardblonde · 23/02/2021 04:38

Hello, hope everyone is okay. Been quiet following miscarriage last week but physically feeling loads better now.
Just playing catch up with all the comments.

Haven't started tracking this cycle yet as feeling a bit down with it all. I've had chemicals in the past but last week was a whole new horrible experience. It's really knocked both of us and I'm finding it a bit hard to get back on the TTC bus if that makes sense. I'm in now way a wimp when it comes to pain but last week was just horrendous, and had me rather poorly for days.

Here's hoping we will find ourselves in a more optimistic place soon. Still have our nhs consultation in March so hopefully they can provide answers as to why we keep losing everything early.
Sorry for sounding so down and dreary. Just having a hard time picking myself up after last week 😞

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/02/2021 08:13

@Marvellouslymadmum wow hardcore 😝 didn't expect a response last night. I might start reign next too although I do want to watch firefly. Finished behind her eyes last night, so insane!! Messed with my dreams last night 😂

@Theawkwardblonde glad you're feeling better 💕
Understandable to still be down a bit. It's physical and mental pain you're going through so it's bound to take time to recover from. I'm very pleased your appointment isn't too far away now. I hope they provide some decent answers. Also don't rush to get bk to ttc, you can take your time and self care xx

PeanutButterBrownies · 23/02/2021 08:19

@Theawkwardblonde good to hear from you and I'm glad to hear you've feeling physically a little better. You have every right to sound down and dreary and to take as long as you need. But it's good that you have your NHS consultation coming up - it would be great to get some answers. Hope you have a better week this week.

@notyetamumbuttrying @Crazydoglady123 omg I meant day 24 of my cycle! Blush that would be an extremely long cycle haha, I'm only 8DPO and that feels quite long enough to be honest!

@notyetamumbuttrying Painful joints sound rubbish - I didn't even realise that could be a thing until recently! Our bodies are such strange things. Sounds like your appointment was really helpful, it's great that you have a sense of your timeline going forward and 3 months for funding is a pleasant surprise! Especially as we've all heard about Covid making wait times longer.

Trying to not get my hopes up for April but also SO EXCITED to get some normality back Grin

@Marvellouslymadmum oh gosh it's so sad when a good TV series ends isn't it! You feel kind of empty! It's always good to have another lined up and there are some great suggestions on this thread. My friends keep telling me to watch Married at First Sight Australia and I know people on here have loved it too, so that's going to have to be my next binge.

@crazycatlady1981 ooh I make halloumi sometimes, it's soooo good! And freezes really well so you can make a big batch :) I use the whey in everything, soups, sauces, quiches. I've made mozarella and cream cheese too (and have had a freezer completely stuffed with whey but a great excuse to make pizza and lasagne)

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/02/2021 10:50

@PeanutButterBrownies haha thanks for clarifying! I thought that was extremely long and you should know by now 😆 I wouldn't test again until the weekend now.
Yeah 3 months isn't as bad as 6 months, but who do I believe?! The phone call was on Thursday and she said 6 months, then the lady yesterday said 3 months 😖 but both said it's another 1-2 months to start once funding is approved so I'm looking at July earliest I reckon. We might still go private tbh and have the nhs round as back up. We could get started end of March then!
Absolutely buzzing for normality! Means we should get to go away for our second wedding anniversary in august now 🥳

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 23/02/2021 12:02

@Theawkwardblonde it's totally understandable to feel like that, I felt similar after my last but then something just clicked and I turned into a ttc monster, hope you're feeling better soon.

@notyetamumbuttrying those are both on my list too but I think I'm going with reign for now as I'm in that frame of mind after brigerton.

@PeanutButterBrownies it is sad, you kind of miss the characters lol hopefully I'll get into reign and it'll be fine haha

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/02/2021 12:57

Yeah makes sense to me @Marvellouslymadmum!

Need a new bus soon ladies! Rather than test dates shall we do stats? So age, time spent ttc and whether it's for #1 or 2?

OP posts:
Crazydoglady123 · 23/02/2021 13:03

@crazycatlady1981 boo to AF! But yay to feet up and Netflix!

@Motherofkittens28 oh I didn't realise you had some frozen. That's really good though, isn't it?

@notyetamumbuttrying is Behind Her Eyes the film/series that starts with the home birth and the baby dies shortly after birth?

@Theawkwardblonde you have every right to feel fed up. One thing this last month has taught me is every day is different. I felt so down at the start of my cycle but I'm more positive now. Hormones are a massive play on our emotions so just take each day as it comes lovely and just do you

@PeanutButterBrownies thank god! Have you got any positive signs this month?

Marvellouslymadmum · 23/02/2021 13:03

@notyetamumbuttrying sounds like a good plan to me!

Crazydoglady123 · 23/02/2021 13:04

@notyetamumbuttrying sounds like a plan ☺️

Annny27 · 23/02/2021 13:41

Agreed @notyetamumbuttrying :)

My stats for the next bus:

Age: 29, ttc #1 since June 2019, 1 miscarriage nov19 👼

notyetamumbuttrying · 23/02/2021 14:21

@Crazydoglady123 no, that sounds horrible tho 😖 not sure I wanna watch that 😆 behind her eyes is a 6 part series and starts quite slow but the ending is nuts! Highly recommend if just for the ending alone lol!
Glad you like the plan 👍🏾
@Annny27 thank you 😊
@Marvellouslymadmum cool 😎 it's settled then! I'll wait for a few more posts before setting up the new one x

This bua is moving rather fast! I can't keep up 😳🤣

@Marvellouslymadmum that stitching is awesome! Wish I was that talented.

@Theawkwardblonde hope you are okay! Would having a month away from ttc help perhaps? Just have some time to focus on yourself?

@notyetamumbuttrying here are my stats for the next bus ride 🚌
27, ttc #1 since October 2019

kerrym87 · 23/02/2021 15:12

34 ttc #1 since Sept 2019

Motherofkittens28 · 23/02/2021 15:15

@notyetamumbuttrying my stats for next bus
Age 39, ttc #1 since August 2019

@crazydoglady123 yes, I have 6 eggs from when I had just turned 35, which is definitely good, im just worried they won't survive the thaw, or won't fertilise, you know how you catastophise these things (or i do anyway)

kerrym87 · 23/02/2021 15:15

Have any of you girls had any experience with norethisterone before hyscosy and lap? I wasnt sure when period was due as hadn't ovulated so was due between 6th and 16th with lap on 12th so clinic gave me the meds. However they want me to start them when I start isolation which is Friday at 7dpo now so a pregnancy test wouldn't show if there was any chance I was. We didn't avoid dtd as it was a shitt notice cancellation so had already done it in the time frame. Some stuff says it can harm a foetus other people say they had no problems. I know chances are I wont be that's why I'm getting tests but I'd be devastated if I actually was and caused harm. Going to ring nurses again before I start it but a bit nervous. X

Yutes · 23/02/2021 15:20

Thanks for running the bus @notyetamumbuttrying

My stats
34 ttc#1 since Aug 2019

Crazydoglady123 · 23/02/2021 15:33

@notyetamumbuttrying I know it was horrible, I was in tears and had to turn it off 😬 Thought you meant that one and was going to say stick with it it's really good 🤣 Just checked, it's Pieces Of A Woman I was referring to!

@kerrym87 that doesn't sound right at all to me. I'd deffo call back and check.
