@notyetamumbuttrying oh wow! That's gorgeous! Loved you pics of your walk today too! That'll be great if you get the results tomorrow. My OH's ones were done through the NHS but at the clinic we're using for ivf so they have all his results already which is handy

MIW01 · 21/02/2021 22:22

@Marvellouslymadmum & @Crazydoglady123 I'm on CD7 and just starting to piss on sticks again this cycle! Second round of CB advanced digital and one step OPKs - hopefully they'll show something this month!
.
@crazycatlady1981 it is ludicrous! That's very interesting you learnt that and still as you say, it's encouraged! Madness!

Marvellouslymadmum · 21/02/2021 22:29

@MIW01 🤞🏻 for a static smiley this cycle for us all!

notyetamumbuttrying · 21/02/2021 22:54

@crazycatlady1981 hmm sounds it! October is still a way off though so you don't have to make decisions just yet.
@Crazydoglady123 aw thank you 😊 yeah that is handy!
@MIW01 good luck for fertile week! And to you too @Marvellouslymadmum.
I'm way past that now and 3dpo. Hoping it'll just be one more period and we can start ivf privately. Just getting what we can out of the nhs tomorrow and keep them as back up if private doesn't work. We can have two rounds before forfeiting our nhs round. Night all 😴

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 00:08

Thank you @notyetamumbuttrying good luck tomorrow, let's hope you don't even need those two rounds!

PeanutButterBrownies · 22/02/2021 08:51

@notyetamumbuttrying good luck with your test results today and going forward with the IVF :)

@MIW01 - I'm a bit behind on the thread but wanted to add to the rant Grin I am so conflicted about the pill - it's terrible isn't it! Obviously it was a milestone in many ways and hugely progressive for women, but women are just NOT informed about any of the potential effects of these powerful hormones wreaking havoc on their bodies - potentially for years after they come off too! My friend had depression for a number of years and it was hugely exacerbated by the pill, but none of her doctors ever suggested it, she researched that herself, and her condition improved a lot when she came off it. It's especially infuriating when it's used to mask symptoms like period cramps rather than treat what could be a real problem as well.

Hope everyone's doing well. I'm just plodding through the TWW and waiting to hear from the fertility clinic so not much going on here.

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 11:10

Well I did a silly thing last night! I had only watched two episodes of brigerton so far, went to bed and put it on thinking of watch part of episode three and drift off - and watched the lot 🤦🏼‍♀️ yep haven't been to sleep because by the time I realised the time it was 6am and I had to be up at 8 😂 Whoopsie need to find another series to watch now and I'm not sure it's good not getting any sleep at all on the ttc front

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 12:21

Hi everyone, just had my scan which unfortunately did not go well. Only 4 follicles of which 1 they say they don't expect to develop any further. That leaves me with 3 at 8,10 and 11 mm, they need to be 18 to be viable for collection. I'm devastated because realistically it looks like I might only end up with 1 or 2 eggs if I'm lucky and seems pretty unlikely we will get an embryo from so few.

Annny27 · 22/02/2021 12:27

@motherofkittens28 so sorry lovely!

I have said before that my friend from another chat said:

"On my left I've got 2 that responded well and are 14&15 mm. the other 2 follies on the right are 3mm and she said it's unlikely they will grow much"

She ended up having 2 eggs collected and 1 fertilised and she is now almost 7 weeks pregnant!

I know its awful news today but there is still so much hope 💗💗

Annny27 · 22/02/2021 12:29

Actually I just re read her message and only 1 egg was collected and that 1 egg fertilised!!! @motherofkittens28

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 12:32

Thanks @Annny27, I know I should be more positive but its such hard news to hear. I'm to go back for another scan Wednesday and then they will decide if I need more time or if egg collar happen as planned on Friday. In the meantime they said I need to eat as much protein as I can from lots of different sources, not so easy as I'm a vegetarian but we are off to the shop to buy lots of beans!

Annny27 · 22/02/2021 13:10

@Motherofkittens28 you are totally allowed to be upset and devastated, its gutting news :(

Will be thinking of you and praying that those follicles continue to grow strong!

And yes deffo beans, eggs, dairy, nuts 🙌 what about a protein powder?

Crazydoglady123 · 22/02/2021 13:22

@Motherofkittens28 oh I totally feel for you! But like @Annny27 said, there's still hope so don't loose faith yet. A lot can change in a few days. Protein wise, I know Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt is high in protein (I live off the stuff)!

Crazydoglady123 · 22/02/2021 13:23

@Marvellouslymadmum I thought I was bad at binge watching! I think you deserve a medal for a series in one night 🙌

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 13:25

@Annny27 I've been taking protein powder but she said its not food for you and the key is to get lots of different types of protein. We just spent £50 in waitrose on every type of protein known to man. I have spurelina, spelt bread, quinoa, wild rice, nuts, beans. We are going to make a big bean chili tonight for me to keep eating over the next few days

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 13:26

@Crazydoglady123 thank you! I mix my protein powder into greek yogurt so I thought I was being really good, apparently yogurt and whey protein are both the same type of protein though.

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/02/2021 13:46

@Marvellouslymadmum thanks for the luck lovely ☺️ can't believe you binged Bridgerton over night 😂 things to watch next:
Behind her eyes
Lupin
Night stalker
Cecil hotel
@PeanutButterBrownies thank you 😊 when are you due to hear from the clinic? How many dpo are you?
@Motherofkittens28 so sorry to hear! There's still a chance though isn't there so please hold onto that until you know for sure. Weds isn't too long to wait either. Can understand your disappointment but it's defo not over yet! Good going on all the protein!

PeanutButterBrownies · 22/02/2021 14:16

@Motherofkittens28 sorry to hear that your results weren't what you were hoping for, sending hugs. It's great that you can channel your worries into optimising your diet so you feel more in control and give yourself the very best shot. Bean chilli sounds yummy :) Dark leafy greens and things like peas and broccoli are veg with higher protein ratios and loads of awesome micronutrients too.

@Marvellouslymadmum I am so impressed you managed to stay awake! Bridgerton is really good though isn't it

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm 24DPO now, due on Thurs or Fri but starting to get my usual symptoms - does anyone else get little itches inside? Grin They're so odd! The GP said I should hear from the clinic in 2-4 weeks which doesn't sound too bad.

Thanks for the TV recommendations. I'm just on the last couple of episodes of Firefly Lane which I have loved but has made me get all mushy about my bestie who lives on the other side of the country who I haven't seen in person since October!

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/02/2021 14:40

@PeanutButterBrownies 24dpo...that's a lot of days! I don't get itches but I do get lots of aches and pains all over. My joints hurt, often my wrist.
Firefly lane is next for us, just need to finish behind her eyes first.
Aww I hope you get to see your bestie soon! Looking like meet ups outside will happen from April 🙏🏾

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 15:13

@Motherofkittens28 I'm so
Sorry your results aren't what you had hoped for but hopefully you can get as much protein in you as possible and still have a good chance, I'm a veggie too and protein is not easy to get inside you!
@Crazydoglady123 @notyetamumbuttrying @PeanutButterBrownies I am quite impressed with myself honestly, I don't know how I managed to stay awake I'll certainly sleep well tonight, I'm a bit sad I've got no more brigerton to watch now!

Motherofkittens28 · 22/02/2021 16:43

Thanks all, the dr started talking about using doner eggs which really set me off but let's see how this week goes.

notyetamumbuttrying · 22/02/2021 18:11

@Motherofkittens28 that's tough to hear! 🤞🏾 for this week!

@Marvellouslymadmum Apparently Reign is really good and should plug the Bridgerton hole in your life 😉

So in typical nhs fashion the appointment time was booked too late for a SA 🤦🏾‍♀️ so he’s booked in for that on Thursday morning now. We both got bloods done tho. Amh and rubella for me, genetic testing for him. Asked about endo, she said the waiting list for a lap was 1 year 😱 so she’ll put me on that and hope ivf works in the meantime. She also talked about stronger painkillers so hopefully that’ll come out in her notes. Also asked about the private rounds and she said 2 meant one fresh, one frozen. Oh and it won’t be instant SA result. Prob get a letter within two weeks or chase if we need it any earlier. We need the AMH to go private so I’ll be chasing that up next week! So all in all semi successful. We really needed that SA result to determine when we’d go private as we’d keep going naturally and just wait on nhs if it’s improved to the averages. Oh and she said wait times were 3 months for funding rather than the 6 the lady on the phone said the other day. She said July would be realistic to start...

laura2093 · 22/02/2021 18:58

Hello. Sorry have been super quiet this cycle... taking it all in! I think I ovulated over the weekend but with OH's SA today we couldn't do anything about it. Last we DTD was Thursday so.. month off for us. But what it has taught me is that next month I'm bbt-ing and that's it.
Hopefully will get his SA results this week. Anyone know how the doctors inform us?

Hope all is well? Xxx

Marvellouslymadmum · 22/02/2021 19:29

@notyetamumbuttrying ooh I did see an ad for that I'll have to take a look! Maybe not tonight though, I feel I'll be asleep fairly early haha

Not entirely good or bad news but all heading on the right direction! I'm going bring up the tentative subject of an sa with my partner either later today or tomorrow - that'll be fun!

Narwhal88 · 22/02/2021 19:37

@Motherofkittens28 oh I'm so sorry. Can they not increase your stim dose or just stim longer? Hopefully you will get one perfect egg that will turn into the perfect embryo and the perfect baby. If not then maybe they can try something different next time. I'm sure there are other things to try, seems a bit early to be talking about donor eggs.

@notyetamumbuttrying good that the wait time is less, though I know July must seem like ages away. Fingers crossed the results improve.
