Annny27 · 12/01/2021 15:54

@notyetamumbuttrying yep pretty sure mine will be here in a few days too as getting the cramps and the signs - hate hate hate this part of my cycle. Husband is having his second sperm analysis tomorrow or the next day, not sure when. But will be good to see if things have improved or not! And hopefully then can get referred if needed for ivf

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/01/2021 15:59

@Annny27 ooh I hope it goes well! Mines not getting his until this feb appointment. A lot is riding on this damned appointment 😬 do you know where you'll get treatment if you do get referred then?

Hi all, just marking my place! Thanks for the new thread @notyetamumbuttrying
I'm in that great part of the cycle just after ov when you still have hope and everything feels great 😂
I emailed my clinic about the vaccine and they said the guidelines have changed so seems I can have it. Hoping to get it booked in next week 🎉

@SS123456 congratulations and glad baby is ok 😊

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/01/2021 22:08

@Theawkwardblonde ah boo! Mines on the way too. Scared to get up and check! 🙈
@Narwhal88 ah yes, know that feeling well! That's good news then. Are you going for the Oxford or Pfizer?

Rosie333 · 12/01/2021 22:17

@notyetamumbuttrying - yeah that's right. They were very good actually. I haven't had the follow up yet so waiting for some detail on the results. Fingers crossed for you getting the appointment. Lockdown is just so annoying on so many levels!

notyetamumbuttrying · 12/01/2021 22:33

@Rosie333 good to know they were good! I keep getting panicked that our appointment will be cancelled 😩 as I'm on a guys thread and 3 of there's has been... so what did they recommend for you two then and when will you start any treatment?

OP posts:
Rosie333 · 12/01/2021 22:50

@notyetamumbuttrying - waiting on husband's test results and will then have a follow up to discuss. Last thing he said pre Xmas was we can make a plan next year. He also said we should try for a bit longer so I'm guessing we will have a backstop date before trying other treatments. I know I am ovulating every month so I'm not sure if that means straight to IUI/IVF...

Narwhal88 · 13/01/2021 06:42

@notyetamumbuttrying it will be the Pfizer vaccine as that is what we are using at the hospital. Which I prefer as it is 90% effective after 1 dose and I'm hoping that I will be pregnant before I get the 2nd and won't be able to have it!

Hannah154 · 13/01/2021 08:52

@notyetamumbuttrying Thank you for creating the new thread!

Congratulations @SS123456 - it's so lovely to hear some good news on here Smile.

I'm after a bit of advice from those of you whose OHs have had a semen analysis recently. My husband had his first one the other week and our GP surgery rang him a couple of times yesterday, left him a VM to ring back and make an appointment with the GP (he's at work and doesn't have his phone on him so it's difficult for him to take calls at work). Anyway when he rang back they've booked him in on Friday morning but won't give him his results before then, just said he needs to speak to the GP on Friday. I feel like 2-3 days when we know the GP has his results but won't give them until he's spoken to him is a long time to wait - basically means I'm going to be catastrophising until then as when mine came back I just got a text to say all normal (although obviously wasn't a SA!!). I guess what I want to ask is - is that quite normal regardless of the result? I'm still hoping the result could be normal but it just makes me sceptical that they won't tell him.

Thank you in advance!

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/01/2021 09:00

@Rosie333 I guess it depends what your Dh's sperm is like. Our referral was straight to ivf as his sperm doesn't really swim and it's shape is all off, as well as a low count!
Did they say when you'd get his results bk?
@Narwhal88 here's hoping! 🤞🏾
@Hannah154 no probs hun!
So when my Dh got his bk he had to speak to a dr. I don't know if that's standard or not though, it must be. Does your gp not do same day appointments if you ring that morning? Just thinking you could make the appointment for him and he can take his phone into work with him. Can he keep it in his pocket and leg it out for 5 minutes?

Tofu35 · 13/01/2021 09:39

Hey @hannah154, yeah that's normal. My OH had to make an appointment to talk through his SA results, I guess in case they have any questions about what any of the numbers mean (or the terms!). When my OH heard his morphology was low, the doctor explained that and then suggested as the other levels were within normal range, everything should be ok. I think if he just got the numbers, he would have spent the next few days googling it and then worrying!

Annny27 · 13/01/2021 11:11

@Hannah154 my doctors surgery rang me to ask if I could book an appointment to discuss my blood tests and I thought oh my goodness somethings wrong. But he literally just said your blood levels for folic acid and b12 are really good and he wanted to know what supplements I was taking because my bloodworm had really improved from last time haha. So now I know not to jump to conclusions 🤣🤣

10dpo and feel my period is on the way as my boobs have shrunk a bit. Cant handle this everongoing disappointment. Its been 20 months - I legit could have had two babies by now

Annny27 · 13/01/2021 11:17

My bloodwork* not my bloodworm 🤣🤣🤣🤣

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/01/2021 11:38

@Annny27 horrible when you think about it in those terms isn't it! Cd 1 today for me boo 😒

OP posts:
Narwhal88 · 13/01/2021 12:20

@Hannah154 same here with the SA. My husband was called in by the doctor to discuss the results. He didn't seem to have a clue though and said they weren't too bad when in actual fact they were!
