@Narwhal88 same with my husbands GP......he said everything was fine and then we got the actual results back and he has low count per mil and low morphology!

Annny27 · 13/01/2021 12:23

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry AF arrived lovely :( sucks!!!! Only one mor cycle till your appointment now!!

And I think I am not actually sure we have been referred to the fertility clinic yet. We are having tests done st the hospital but don't know if that means we have been "referred"

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/01/2021 13:52

@Annny27 thank you 🙏🏾 I'll have one more cycle before the appointment as my cycles are only 25 days long, sometimes 24!
Can't believe they said your Dh's sperm was fine when he had two things low! That's pretty outrageous I think! Is the hospital the assisted conception unit?

OP posts:
RobinRose · 13/01/2021 14:21

@notyetamumbuttrying possibly! They said they are 2 months behind with appointments.
Hope your appointment doesn't get cancelled !🤞

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/01/2021 14:36

@RobinRose it's so rubbish! Thank you 🙏🏾 I do just think it's a matter of time now...😒

Thank you all for your responses you've definitely helped put my mind at ease. In the grand scheme of this journey 2 days isn't long at all!!

@notyetamumbuttrying Yeah he rang at 8am to see if he'd be able to get one today but no availability! I guess with Covid and everything they've probably got bigger things to be sorting out so at least we're getting seen. Sorry to hear AF arrived today Sad. I also have quite short cycles now (usually 25 days but have been between 23 - 26 lately. They were always 27 before I started TTC). Crossing my fingers that your appointment next month doesn't get cancelled.

@Tofu35 That's true - he's not much of a googler but I'd probably be doing it for him haha!

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker That's good to hear. He's already on some supplements and made some changes (he quit smoking in August so I dread to think of his reaction if he gets told to give up alcohol or something like that haha)! That's actually prompted me to arm him with information on when he started his supplements etc for when he speaks to the Dr as he probably has no idea!

@Annny27 and @Narwhal88 I can't believe the Dr told your husband the results were fine when they weren't! Especially when they could be giving you helpful advice on ways to improve it. I'll definitely be doing some googling when my husband gets his. I generally feel like GPs know a bit about everything but not enough about anything although I thought they'd have some easy guidance available for them on SA results!

@Hannah154 shame he couldn't get an appointment, not too long to wait until Friday tho! Mine have always been short 24-26 so I at least know it's normal for me. Thank you, I'll be pretty gutted to have it pushed bk. 😒 but what can we do! 🤷🏾‍♀️
Oh and my Dh was told to give up alcohol so prepare for that if his SA isn't up to par. He did until Xmas and nye! Bk off it again now though.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker mine saw a urologist through a gp referral due to his terrible SA. Could you push for that if 2 out of 3 were below the normal range?

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker sounds like a plan! And the only thing the urologist did before the fertility referral was scan his testes and do a blood test. Everything came bk normal so still no real clue as to why his was so bad. Must have been the booze and fags! As he's not overweight, under if anything! I think if our appointment gets cancelled then I'll defo get him to do a private SA and I'll beg my gp to test my amh or go private for that too. I'm not too concerned about egg reserves as my progesterone was so high (over 60) from the bloods so I'll take that as a sign that I produce plenty 😬 I always feel ovulation too.

@notyetamumbuttrying you can get private fertility tests including AMH from here medichecks.com/collections/female-fertility I did the AMH one in the first lockdown when my appointments got cancelled as I had it in my head that I must be menopausal. I have since had an NHS one. The private one said AMH of 37.8 and NHS said 44. It can fluctuate a little so it was accurate.

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/01/2021 20:26

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker thank you, same here lol! God May is far isn't it. You're doing well holding on! Surrendering to the universe is defo what I need to do too!
My Dh is 38 next month so I guess age isn't on his side either. It defo was the smoking n weekend drinking for him I think. I'm 35 in March so I really wanted to be pregnant by then and with the appointment I was hoping we'd be further along and heading to egg collection etc so it's just so gutting but I know it's not actually been cancelled yet, will keep the hope for now! X
@Narwhal88 thank you for that link, will check it out if my apt gets cancelled. Hope you're doing ok x

@notyetamumbuttrying I'm ok thanks. I've been working every weekend and in the week which is making time go quicker but exhausting. Emailed the clinic yesterday and they won't book the nurse consultation until my blood results come back to say my thyroid is under 2.5 😞 I can't test it again until 1st Feb. So I think it will end up being April by the time I start now. Everything just takes so long!! Infertility is basically endless waiting....

I really feel for anyone having appointments cancelled, I was in the same position during the first lockdown and it's horrible waiting in limbo.

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/01/2021 08:41

@Narwhal88 glad you're ok! Why can't you test again until feb? Yep just endless waiting...when did they get bk in touch to rebook for you in the first lockdown? Just trying to gage possible wait times, although mines not been cancelled yet.

Hi girls :) put this in another chat but will just copy : About 11dpo atm. Husband had his second SA today and I was paranoid that we would be stopped on the way to check if the journey was essential and then I would have to explain to the police that we have a pot of dying sperm that need to be delivered within half hour 🤣🤣 luckily that didn't happen :p

@notyetamumbuttrying short cycles must be a blessing and a curse! More chances in a year but also more chances of disappointment too!!

@Narwhal88 thats exciting you get to have the jab now. Less stress that you will get covid complications in pregnancy

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/01/2021 15:58

@Annny27 ha! Imagine if you had been stopped 😂 I'm glad all went well, now for the wait. Has he been implementing changes to improve the sperm?
Exactly that about short cycles! And I get painful periods so currently sat hugging a hot water bottle and feeling nauseous 🥴

OP posts:
Theawkwardblonde · 14/01/2021 16:41

@Annny27 can you imagine the faces of the officers if you did get pulled 😂😂

I'm still awaiting DH to get a date for his SA following his private consultation. It's been about 8 weeks now which isn't ideal.

Hope you ladies are all okay. Having a weird AF this month after it being a tad late. Only lasted half a day! I feel like crap too but it may be a result of coming off a set of nights.,

Annny27 · 14/01/2021 16:45

@Theawkwardblonde take a test.......?? Could be implantation if it was only half a day!!

@notyetamumbuttrying hahah thankfully not 🤣 my husband was already embarrassed to hand it over. And yep he has been eating better, wesring loose boxers and taking his vitamins. He doesn't smoke or drink anyway. What about yours?

Theawkwardblonde · 14/01/2021 16:50

@Annny27 I don't think it'll be implantation as it would be 15dpo which seems very late for that. Plus I tested on day period was due with a frer and nothing which is a shame.

notyetamumbuttrying · 14/01/2021 17:28

@Annny27 bless him! Yeah sounds similar to mine. Although mine did smoke and drink and has stopped both. He'll get his repeat one in feb as long as the appointment doesn't get cancelled 😬
@Theawkwardblonde I'm having a shit period too, so bloody painful! Have been sat with a hot water bottle on me all day. The pain literally won't go even tho I'm taking paracetamol 😪 feeling pretty sorry for myself right now 👎🏾

Motherofkittens28 · 14/01/2021 21:21

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry to hear AF arrived, it never gets easier. Mine arrived on Sunday so we are now officially in our ivf cycle and I've got to go to the clinic tomorrow for my blood work and a trial with the catheter to ensure it will be fine for transfer. Annoyingly the satellite clinic we were going to use for all our scans and bloods etc has been co-opted by the NHS for covid so it's now a 50min drive to their main clinic for all appointments. My meds are being delivered next week and I think I'll start the down regulation drugs on the 30th. Its a long haul and egg collection will be sometime first week in March.

crazycatlady1981 · 15/01/2021 08:15

@Motherofkittens28 that’s so exciting to be finally starting your ivf cycle!

We’ve got hubby’s nhs SA next week and are in a similar situation to @Annny27 as the hospital is 35 mins drive from our house so I’m worried about being stopped by police in case they delay us and we miss the 60 minute window of getting the sample deposited! 😣 It’s going to be cutting it fine anyway!!

@Theawkwardblonde any sign of af yet?

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry to hear af has arrived and it’s a rough one! ☹️ I hate those painful days, they really suck!

@Narwhal88 thanks for the link about fertility tests! I might get my Day 3 one done as that’s the only thing I haven’t had tested yet and it’s much easier to do at home and post off! I did my AMH test from private clinic by post and it was so easy! 😊

Theawkwardblonde · 15/01/2021 08:22

@crazycatlady1981 still just very light spotting which is frustrating. Just want this damn cycle done with!
