Hi Silverlining, so sorry you're about all the pregnancies around you. It's HARD having to keep a smile stretched on your face when you want to scream 'What about me?'. I normally manage it, but did burst into tears when one friend told me she was pg at what was a particularly low moment for me. She felt awful, I felt awful...
Welcome pooka! This thread is very lucky, we'll have populated a small town by Christmas
ebbie - sorry to hear about your BFN. How long ar e you going to wait before testing again?
Tania - sounds to me like you may have reduced your chances of conceiving this month but you still BDed when you had eggwhite so you're still in with a good chance. Try not to worry - I've had friends swear that it was the least likely month (i.e. the month they scraped in just one BD at a less than perfect time) that worked for them
Btw Tania, I got chatting yesterday to this young guy who works in a newsagent near me, who told me he's off to live in Melbourne because he met this girl from there on holiday and now she's pregnant. Ah, the young! I was open-mouthed (and not a little jealous) at how easily he's turning his life around and rushing off to fatherhood.
Pamina, I'll email you.
Jeddah, your party sounds great and my tummy is rumbling at the thought of chilli, brownies and parkin (haven't eaten parkin in YEARS - my mum used to make it!). Can we all come? (Visions of hordes of broody mumsnetters descending on Yorkshire farmhouse, storming up the drive demanding chocolate, wine and fertile CM, Jeddah and guests barricaded in kitchen with only slabs of parkin to defend themselves...)
I've been ttc for 10 months now. But a couple of years ago we tried for about 10 months again. So even though my test results are all fine, it doesn't look like I'm burstingly fertile . Trouble is, at our age it's hard to know whether we've just been unlucky (at 40, it often takes a couple of years to conceive even if you are fertile) or whether there is a real problem (other than age, I mean; which obviously is a problem in itself).
I've been pg before - 24 years ago (now, THAT makes me feel old!) - and it is staggering how when you're young you can practically get pg through a horsehair blanket, while at our age you plan and obsess and do everything you can to help you along, and still the damn thing doesn't happen...
But I'm not going to finish on a down note. Have a lovely Sunday, all. Am I right in thinking we've had three BFPs so far this thread? (head like a sieve). We need to get a move on if we're to hit our target eight, don't we? Come on, who's testing next?
