Tania2 · 28/10/2004 12:17

We have found a very sick possum in our backyard tonight dh has to put it out of pain IYKWIM. we have a really bad possum problem in our area they get into your roof and walls and scratch the wood and plaster hate them when they are doing that but when you see a sick one you just feel so sorry for it they really are cute.

Sorry mate, at least now you know I guess...... I hate seeing hurt animals too, nothing worse.

Tania2 · 28/10/2004 12:21

Sorry MommyD i didnt answer you question about oving twice. on cd 9 i got ov pains and a positive on my ov test but it was taken in the afternoon and they say to do it in the morning. then on cd17 & 18 i got a positive on the test again. i asked my natrapath if this is posible she explained something about your menstral cycle is the first ov then your luna cycle is the 2nd ov something about when in the month you are born. sounds abit hippy to me but i do know that some people do ov twice a month???

Hi everyone, my best friend has just (an hour ago!) had a baby . this is after being written off as completely infertile so miracles do happen! Am off to see them this afternoon - Iman reckons holding a newborn baby, in line with Somalian tradition, helped her conceive at 44, so I'm hoping it will do the same for me! (She didn't say whether she was also having IVF, but I prefer to think not.)

Welcome Silverlining

Jeddah - how funny that you are a midwife; I have worked in maternity services for yonks (though am not a mw) and have just come down from labour ward. I know zillions of midwives... wouldn't it be weird if you were one of them?! (Ooh, creepy feeling about loss of confidentiality!!) I was about to ask whereabouts you lived, but better not! But it's an odd one, isn't it, ttc while surrounded by fecundity. Lovely to be in touch with it all, but sometimes very painful as well .

Could any lurking pregnant lady (nice to see you, WifeOf!) please send me extra babydust today, because I really, really, really want this to be my lucky month. Thanks!

Tania - I have no choice now seeing as Ihave bought the bikini on Ebay already! I have convinced a couple of my friends to wear revelaing getups and I guess it is a miaasive male fantasy so if I am not pg by then, I bloody better be afterwards!

runtus · 28/10/2004 13:53

Pamina NO!

SilverLining · 28/10/2004 13:55

Hello everyone! Work horrendously busy today unfortunately! Still managed a cheeky lunch with large glass of vino though!! Don't work on Friday's so its my end of the week! !

Think Runtus is vv brave with her fancy dress idea - good on you girl!

Great joke Minnie1 - not sure if its the wine or not but that really made me laugh!!!

Had long chat with DH this morning (DD up since 4.30am so lots of time to chat!!!!!) and he wants to take things a bit more natural this month and not be told when to perform etc!!! I kind of know where he is coming from but can't help but think when he HAS to come up with the goods! . Anyone else had similar problems with their menfolk?? He is not reluctant in the BD department if you know what I mean but just doesn't like being told what to do!!!

Hope everyone else is having a good day and enjoying the sunshine! (well its Sunny in my part of London anyway!!!) xxx

hester · 28/10/2004 13:57

Pamina! Stay with us girl!! {{clicks fingers in face, taps side of head (gently)}} Remember, there is NO symptom you can experience that can't be explained by something else! Try and stay sane at least till due date (when is that?).

Who am I to talk? Day 18 and I'm already thinking 'No period pains, maybe I'm pregnant!' Maybe I'm crazy, more like...

Geordie · 28/10/2004 13:59

hi sliverlining,

welcome!

I know when the right times are but i don't tell dh that......at least not until after ovulation....I just jump on him...helps that i do feel horny at that time of the month .

He finds it hard to perform when he knows...can only bd every other day and has low sex drive anyway......

what they don't know doesn't hurt!!

  • when we were ttc last time it took 23 months so in the end he had to know as we had to support each other rather than have me taking all the stress!!
wilbur · 28/10/2004 14:02

Blimey this thread moves fast! Welcome to more new folk too! I'm interested in the thing about B vitamins helping lengthen the LP, homemummy. I think that might be part pf my problem as that seems to be very short since my ectopic in March - hormones are raging and I need to get them under control! Do you just take a b complex vitamin, or are the individual ones that are good?

runtus · 28/10/2004 14:27

I have that problem Silverlining......can be a right nightmare!

SilverLining · 28/10/2004 14:37

Thanks Georgie - like your way of thinking! Perhaps I should just go down the goddess route and start making his tea in my best agent provocateur and make him totally unable to resist??? how about it Runtus?? You could give your gold bikini its first outing??

Second thoughts - I think he likes me best in my old tracksuit bottoms - slightly stained with fromage frais and an old rugby shirt of his with the mornings marmite smeared all over it!!! He knows what he likes my boy!!!

Better look busy! Have a good afternoon everyone! xxx

I had considered the whole brazilian waxing and sexy undies route myself but then I realised my do also 'loves' the hairy legs & mank t-shirt combo so much, I just couldn;t do it to him.....either that or I decided it was too much effort.

One of the two

jeddah · 28/10/2004 15:25

hester I live about 20 miles north of York

BeckiF · 28/10/2004 15:34

I'm still here, the usual things happening. Very sore boobs again (am day 30-something) and I fell asleep withing half hour of getting home last night. Will probably taunt myself with another pg test on Saturday morning "just in case".
