Hi and welcome @SugarPlumRoar! Sorry to read about your MC but you are in good company here. From my own experience and that of others here, your cycle might well be a bit different post-MC but unlikely it will be 'too' short. It's really just a case of wait and see xx

susiebluebell · 26/12/2020 16:14

Well I am right in my FW and we dtd on Christmas Eve and today, Boxing Day. It would be brilliant if we conceived now, just for the romance of it 😇 I've been really good and focused on others, especially my sis-in-law who is ready to pop any day, and that's done me a world of good in not dwelling on the past pregnancy and what could have been.

Glad to read others have had a good time too but fully understand feeling down at this time of year xx

SugarPlumRoar · 26/12/2020 16:35

Thanks @bez91 and @susiebluebell, you're more than likely right about my cycles.

I've never been particularly good at wait and see 🙈 I'm the type that needs to plan and control everything, I obviously can't with ttc so OPKs have been my little bit of control/planning.

It's not so much the TTC that worries me, that bit I enjoy but as you said Bez its the positive test onwards.

Until recently I thought I wanted to wait a few more months to try, however we had friends who did that awful post on social media of looking like a pregnancy announcement when it's actually a scan of a liver. I was incredibly upset by it before we even realised it was a prank, not because I was upset they were pregnant but because I wasn't and I realised then that I actually didn't want to wait any more to try again and here we are

TheDaydreamBelievers · 26/12/2020 20:41

I seem to have a bit of brown spotting today Hmm- not sure if this is AF or just post MMC nonsense. If its AF this cycle was definitely annovulatory!

PumpkinEverything · 26/12/2020 22:53

My DH has no idea how often I use my OPKs @bez91 😂 we’re lucky enough to have an en-suite so I use that as ‘my bathroom’ and have them all in the drawer so he wouldn’t even notice them. I haven’t mentioned using them yet either, and tbh I really don’t think they’re going to be accurate as all the ones I’ve taken have been high since the 20th, including a peak on the 22nd. Seemed to have no spotting or bleeding all day so had to celebrate 😂😉 finally! It’s been a long 3 months 😄

@TheDaydreamBelievers did you ever have spotting around ovulation? I’m wondering if it could be that potentially.

lillg · 26/12/2020 23:10

Hi All. Do you mind if I join? I tried asking a question on my own thread but didn't get any responses.
I miscarried at 20 weeks on Christmas eve.
I agreed with my DH then that maybe we should wait a while before TTC again to give us both some time, but I can't stop thinking about if that's the right thing to do or if I should make the most of being more fertile now.
We've been trying for 4 years and this is my 3rd miscarriage, but the other 2 were much earlier (about 6 and 8 weeks).

elsimo · 26/12/2020 23:21

@lillg I am so sorry to hear that, must be devastating so far on.

I had mc twins at 10 weeks in November, they took 18months to conceive. I am pretty sure I ovulated and we dtd but I am still waiting for period to arrive (not pregnant). I really want to try when I'm hopefully still more fertile.

I don't think theres a right or wrong in this, just have to do what feels right.

Xxx

susiebluebell · 26/12/2020 23:44

Hi @lillg I'm so sorry for your loss, it's always difficult but especially on Christmas Eve. I sometimes wonder whether there's any justice in the world.

It's still early days for you so you'd have to wait at least till you stopped bleeding before trying again. After that it's just whether you and your other half are ready physically and emotionally. I'm so sorry again xx

Hanbanxx · 27/12/2020 09:55

Hi everyone, if I had my peak ovulation test on 23rd December, when does my two week wait start? Xx

bez91 · 27/12/2020 09:56

@PumpkinEverything ahhh 😂 I have some left over the clearblue ones and I've used the reader but still have loads of sticks left so I don't know if it'll even work as not used the reader since end of September 🙈. Saying that though if AF doesn't show by second week in January I don't even know when to know to test as no idea when AF should be coming 🤷‍♀️

@lillg so sorry to hear that. As someone has already said there is no right time just whenever feels right for the both of you. Sending you love and support

susiebluebell · 27/12/2020 10:09

@Hanbanxx If you got peak LH on 23rd then you would have ovulated 24th most likely. So the 24th is when your two week wait started! 🤞🏻

@bez91 I think when we have no idea where we are in the cycle we just have to test etc based on timing of previous cycles 🤷🏻‍♀️ Hope you figure it out! Xx

lillg · 27/12/2020 10:14

Thanks all. My head is such a mess right now. I hope once we get back to a bit of normality I can at least distract myself with work.

I don't know how you all do ovulation tests. I tried for a bit but drove myself mad with the constant worry about it.

susiebluebell · 27/12/2020 10:56

I'm quite lazy with it @lillg! I only start doing them a few days before predicted ovulation, and sometimes when I see them getting stronger I don't bother tracking for the peak if I know me and OH are going to be together for a few days 😊

lillg · 27/12/2020 11:13

Lol exactly, don't want to take the fun out of it. I generally know roughly when I'm most fertile so just try as much as possible.
I've been feeling really unwell for most of my pregnancy so it'll make a change to try again.

PumpkinEverything · 27/12/2020 11:44

I’m going to go by the range of my previous
cycles I think @bez91 they were between 34-45 days, and my last one would have arrived on CD45 judging by when I ovulated and my TWW ended. It’s just a long window of wondering 😂 where your cycles regular before?

@lillg I sort of need to do them due to irregular cycles or we’d be trying for a long time and probably always missing it. I have a few apps and not one of them has predicted ovulation right previously! I’m trying to use signs from my body as a way of figuring it out, but I haven’t been doing it long enough to completely rely on that 😊

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/12/2020 12:37

@lillg I am so fucking sorry, that sounds so so hard.

In terms of OPKs I am also pretty casual about them. Some ladies use them 3 times a day and I just cannot be arsed Grin

bez91 · 27/12/2020 12:46

@PumpkinEverything yes a very long window of wondering 😂 I never had a period whilst on the pill just sporadic spotting so wouldn't have known, since coming off in May my cycles have ranged from 21-43 days 🤷‍♀️ the OPKs were a godsend and fell pregnant both times with these this year

Bellabubble · 27/12/2020 12:55

@PumpkinEverything do you track your bbt to confirm ovulation?

OP posts:
PumpkinEverything · 27/12/2020 13:02

@bez91 sort of similar to me, only even crazier 😂 id probably say to go somewhere roughly 43 days after your surgery date and then either add a week on, or test then. I’m honestly hoping all of this has maybe sorted my cycle out, it would be great to have a positive to come from this, but I’m not holding my breath 🙈

@Bellabubble no I don’t. I had said I would had we not got pregnant when we did, but honestly it seems like too much effort to me to get up at the same time everyday 🙈 I’m WFH so at least the OPKs aren’t a big deal for me at all as I’m always there and can do them at the same time without too many issues

bez91 · 27/12/2020 14:06

@PumpkinEverything good idea tbf, should take me about to my 30th birthday 🙈 hopefully you never know it may have sorted it 🤞🏼
I am the same with BBTs. If I'm honest I had no idea what it meant until recently from learning all this terminology on MN and I legit thought it was a temperature reading from a thermometer that went up your vagina 🤣

PumpkinEverything · 27/12/2020 14:10

@bez91 fingers crossed you get the best birthday present 😁 haha, I thought the same thing! Also thought seed cycling (if you’ve heard about it on here) was when you put different seeds up there and then had to swap them about 😂😂😂

Bellabubble · 27/12/2020 15:09

@bez91 @PumpkinEverything some people take it that way lol! I don’t!! I actually started it for birth control and it worked really well - and it definitely has helped in out ttc (being a bit older I need ALL the help I can get!) I don’t temp at the same time each morning though - you can have a 2 hour window either way thankfully! I found it really useful for me as I did it alongside opks and found out I ovulate closer to 36hrs after my lh surge, so definitely helps with the timing of things! I don’t think my environment encourages oh swimmers to survive very long - no real reason to think that - just a hunch!!

M4v3r1ck · 27/12/2020 17:17

@SugarPlumRoar @lillg I'm so sorry for your losses and what you've been going through, but welcome to the group - it's helped me so much! 😘

Can totally relate to the feelings everyone has had with all the Christmas family pictures! 😳 I had a rather shite Christmas unfortunately! I ended up in A&E at midnight on Christmas Day with excessive pain and bleeding! Got home around noon yesterday after a stint in Gynae - I basically had a natural miscarriage with a vengeance, and it needed a brief intervention (like a coil removal) to complete! Even though I knew it was imminent, it was a shock. However, it's hopefully the best outcome for me. Going for a scan in a few days to confirm everything is gone! Then 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 my cycle can get back to normal soon and I'll be TTC again!

Re: OPKs, I only use them once a day after my period completes. Luckily I WFH too, so it's not an issue. However, I find I need to be mildly dehydrated (I drink a lot of water) to find my peak, so I tend to do them after my lunchtime walk. I also track BBT (first thing when I wake up) and I've noticed a dip just before I apparently ovulate! Omfg @PumpkinEverything @bez91 I thought the same about taking BBT until I finally bought one and it said you can just stick it in your mouth! 🤣🤣🤣

lillg · 27/12/2020 17:32

Thank you. I'm going to have to get used to all of the acronyms and fertility aids. I had no idea it was so complicated!
I was having accupuncture before the miscarriage and it worked within 6 weeks so I think I will do that again when I'm ready.

elsimo · 27/12/2020 18:59

Wtf is seed cycling??
