Glad to have found this post...I had a miscarriage on 5th December (10 weeks pregnant). I got a positive ovulation stick last weekend but the hospital told me to wait one cycle until we tried again (so annoying as evidence for this seems to be mixed and more to do with dating!). In hindsight I think probably a little break is a good idea for me.

I’m hoping this means I’ll ovulate around the 22/23rd jan. I was very regular before but I know the miscarriage might have upset my cycle.

I hope you’re all doing ok..so sorry about everyone’s losses and fingers crossed for lots of BFPs soon!

fingerscrossed1985 · 28/12/2020 19:08

@Hanbanxx currently 8dpo...obsessing a little more than usual, trying to be calm and aloof but it's totally not happening! How are you getting on?

fingerscrossed1985 · 28/12/2020 19:10

@Jr9901 sorry to hear about your loss x I found that after my first period following my missed miscarriage my cycles went back to normal for me (33-36 day cycle). I decided to try acupuncture and my cycles immediately shortened to 27 days which I found easier to cope with x

Jr9901 · 28/12/2020 19:17

@fingerscrossed1985 thank you and sorry to hear about yours..it’s a horrible thing to go through. I never knew acupuncture could impact your cycle! Hopefully it goes back to normal so at least have a good chance of getting the timing right. Really can’t wait to get started again!

Hanbanxx · 28/12/2020 19:52

@fingerscrossed1985 I'm totally the same! It's completely understandable given what we have gone through, we need to be a bit kinder to ourselves. It almost feels that we're in control if we're tracking, doesn't it? I'm 4dpo, I'm wishing the days away! Xx

HappyVibes · 28/12/2020 20:40

Aww @Hanbanxx I’m 2DPO so not far behind you lovely. Sending you lots of luck & hoping we start the new year with magical news 💫

fingerscrossed1985 · 28/12/2020 21:24

@Hanbanxx oh my goodness tracking provides me with hope that somehow I can control what's happening...even though I obviously can't!

@Jr9901 I only started the acupuncture as I'd read so many positive stories about it helping with conceiving - had no idea about the cycle shortening but was pretty pleased with it! It's quite expensive though so not sure how much longer I can do it.

RichmondLady1981 · 28/12/2020 21:46

Hi Happy Vibes! Lovely to hear from you :). Got my flashing smiley this morning so in the FW. How about you?

We had all the fertility checks done and all ok except my AMH was a little low. We have been to an IVF specialist in London and after a few more cycles, will consider a round of IVF in Feb/March to attempt to freeze some embryos. Had a good chat about it over Xmas and although we feel very lucky to have our 19 month old son, feel the need to crack on. Weird as I’m not scared by it, feeling quite excited. Hopefully I will respond well to medicine. It’s a fascinating process!

RichmondLady1981 · 28/12/2020 21:48

Oh and I start acupuncture tomorrow too - a place that is linked to the IVF clinic. Never had it before but keep reading it really makes a difference.

RichmondLady1981 · 28/12/2020 21:50

Just seen @HappyVibes you are 2DPO. How was the FW- lots of festive action? 😉. Still taking clinic and aspirin? The doctor advised me to take as per in daily. She said that it can lower risk of Mc and can be taken even before pregnant as it improves blood flow to the uterus.

RichmondLady1981 · 28/12/2020 21:51

Meant to say still taking CLOMID (sorry trying to do too many things at once).

HappyVibes · 28/12/2020 22:03

Ah that’s so good @RichmondLady1981 that sounds brilliant progress! Very reassuring re all results coming back good. Is there anything specific that is able to be recommend re the AMH at all?

I took clomid this cycle, but this is my last cycle as the consultant did say that I don’t need it given that I’m ovulating. So after this one, I’m not doing anymore clomid as feel assured I don’t need it.

My consultant said to take 150mg aspirin per day from when I get a positive...so I stopped taking it daily, just wait until the positive. I’ll see and perhaps research a lil more re taking it all cycle...I did think the same re flow to uterus etc, so will see this cycle I guess, then do research and perhaps look at doing the same and taking it all cycle.

Yeah we got lots of days ticked off over Christmas thankfully, so we shall see what the new year brings.

Aww a fun and active few days for you then now my lovely xxxx

RichmondLady1981 · 28/12/2020 22:24

@HappyVibesAMH is one of those things you can’t do much about. It goes down with age so happens to everyone. It’s an indicator for egg reserve and quality. There are always supplements to take to try and improve it such a cow- 10 etc but research is lacking. The reason unfortunately for miscarriage is usually an egg quality (or sperm) issue. The IVF process allows you to actually test each egg and embryo genetically and for quality. Which is why I think it’s a viable option for us at this point. Let’s see.

Haha yes- keeping busy during this window. Although if you remember I managed to pick up a UTI last FW as we went a bit crazy so will try and avoid that this time around. Both times we fell pregnant we dtd every other day so going to try that this time.

I’ve heard a few ladies who used Clomid and said it made them a bit moody and loopy although I’m sure it’s not the same for everyone. They said there was a similar product called Femera (which does the same but it easier on the body).

elsimo · 28/12/2020 22:46

@RichmondLady1981 do u mind me asking how old you are?
The only fertility test I haven't had done is AMH but our fertility specialist didn't think it would tell us much as my antra follicle count was 14 but I do worry about my egg quality xx

MgW1 · 28/12/2020 23:24

@MsK89
I have had another mc aswell since then, last month at 5 weeks , I hope I am not getting too old 😔. How long were you trying before your mc? Hopefully we will have some better luck in 2021 xx

RichmondLady1981 · 29/12/2020 07:37

Hi @elsimo. No I don’t mind at all. Just turned 39. Had my son first month of trying when almost 37. Had a high AMH then and low FHS which was good. It’s started to go down. Had it measured in summer in august and it will still fine but when I had it done recently it had gone down. They can fluctuate but you have to take the results as they come.

Thing is with AMH I have read some girls who are young have a low AMH and some ladies into their 40s have a high one. So it’s soooo individual! I really believe everyone should get it checked every year along with FSH- why wouldn’t we? Smart to know where we are at with our fertility.

RS2609 · 29/12/2020 08:17

@M4v3r1ck ah thanks for the tip, I’ll give that a go. Now had 4 days of flashing smileys but still don’t seem to be showing an LH surge. Although I didn’t really have an obvious one the month I got pregnant either! Who knows, we will just have to wait and see what happens.

elsimo · 29/12/2020 08:40

@RichmondLady1981 yes I agree! It's good to know where we are at. I might consider this test in the New Year.

My sister in law is due twins in a few weeks, a couple of days before she is 40!!

RichmondLady1981 · 29/12/2020 09:03

@elsimo oh wow! That’s such exciting news! Just goes to show, you just never know! My friend went through 2 years of IVF with no luck, then fell preggers naturally at 41. Madness!

elsimo · 29/12/2020 09:22

@RichmondLady1981 I know, I am trying to relax a lot more about ttc and just accept it will take time but it's not always that easy 🤣

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/12/2020 10:02

Welp, 4 weeks after surgery for MMC and I'm still (lightly) positive on a FRER. Fucks sakes, I just want these hormones to go away now.

bez91 · 29/12/2020 10:03

@elsimo this is me also 😆 trying to relax about it but I find myself thinking about it quite a lot! With my first we just decided we'd stop using contraception after we got married and see what happens and it was just nice that we weren't 'trying' 🙈 after 2 MCs I feel like I need to try harder 😂

How much chocolate has everyone consumed so far this Christmas? 🙈 I put on 6lbs over the last 6 months through being pregnant twice and wanted to start running again today but we have loads of snow and I'd likely dislocate my hip so a day of playing in the snow instead! Would love to loose a few pounds before conceiving again

bez91 · 29/12/2020 10:06

@TheDaydreamBelievers that's pants although this may be some conciliation... I mentioned just before Christmas (I was 3 weeks post procedure) that the hospital rang to check up on me and asked me to go in as still testing positive. I did a FRER that morning and a positive although pretty faint, they did a urine sample that day at the hospital and it was negative! So the home ones are a lot more sensitive than the hospital ones, she said because of this she wasn't concerned that there were any retained tissue and said it was likely I could have already ovulated 🤷‍♀️

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/12/2020 10:13

@bez91 this is a FRER. I wouldnt say its supremely faint but hopefully I'm the same as you. I just dont want to have to go through the rigamarole at the hospital again. I dont want to have to call, go, get a scan, get bloods. Definitely dont want to need surgery again. Just fuck off stupid hormones. This pregnancy didnt work out so stop torturing me with it and encroaching on my lovely relaxing 2 weeks off. I feel like its stopping me moving on Sad. Sorry, rant over.

I'm definitely up for a weight loss attempt in new year but for now I'm drowning my sorrows in chocolate

TheDaydreamBelievers · 29/12/2020 10:13

Sorry meant to attach a picture - faint but still annoyingly definitely there
