I feel I might jump on the COQ10 bandwagon! 😄

To be honest @RichmondLady1981 I'm only 2 days overdue (did pg test several days ago) so it could be a perfectly usual variation of 2-3 days I've been having since mc. But as we know, it's hard to be innocent and naive after a while.

The cooking spree was mainly to deal with some substitutions on the shopping order - e.g. ended up with 5kg of apples, so I chopped them up and baked them in the oven! Much easier to get through when they taste like sweets! 😉

Hope everyone has a lovely relaxed Sunday xx

bxiiboo · 10/01/2021 19:13

Hi guys,

We have been TTC for a year now- we caught in feb last year but MC end of April- when do you think the best time to go to the doctors is? Do they use a year since you conceived or a year from MC?

And is it worth me getting any online fertility tests done before I go? Has anyone else used those? They are only around £70 just wondered if it was worth it.

Congrats to everyone with a BFP and baby dust to everyone else.

This is such a harder journey than I thought it would be! X

susiebluebell · 10/01/2021 19:27

Hi @bxiiboo I believe it's a year from when you've been actively trying to conceive. I just found this out recently and was quite pleased as we started 'not trying, not preventing' Nov '19 but only actively TTC since August '20 when we had the mc. So we've only been properly trying 4 months! Makes me feel better anyway. Hope that helps xx

RichmondLady1981 · 10/01/2021 19:45

@Mustkeepgoing2 hi 🙋🏼‍♀️. How are you? Lovely to hear from you. That’s an interesting question. I would speak to your gynaecologist or specialist about that. I would hate to post a number here on Mumsnet and then panic everyone and them say RIchmond Lady has told me I have a low AMH! Ha! AMH is a way of determining egg reserve, and can panic some people. It only takes one egg remember!! 😁. It Is a weird one as some people in their 20s can have really low AMH which is scary but then some ladies in the 40s can have a high healthy AMH. It’s bonkers. But I think its worth everyone getting theirs checked.

@Firevie tell me about it- some people have been waiting ages with NHS for fertility tests and bloods. Although it can be pricey I think sometimes it’s best to go private if possible.

RichmondLady1981 · 10/01/2021 19:50

@susiebluebell I was just one day late for my period last cycle and I was CONVINCED that I was pregnant! It’s crazy how your mind plays tricks on you. Well they say an apple a day keeps the doctor away! 😂

TheDaydreamBelievers · 10/01/2021 21:32

@Mammaofgirls just make sure you tell your health professionals all this info. It's likely they couldn't see a new pregnancy yet, but will monitor your hcg in coming weeks

Firevie · 10/01/2021 21:50

@RichmondLady1981 so I have taken my first coq10 this evening and I take my folic acid every eve anyway. My hubby is also taking coq10 lol. I had a cal from my NHS GP and said I should make an appointment for my bloods 7days before my next AF. So will call tmr and should hopefully get an appointment. But hopefully next time there won’t be AF but pregnancy anyway lol and my husband will call GP tmr to get sperm mobility test done though I think those appointments may take longer cos hosopitals are overflowing at the moment. So I think for now we will get his sperm test and my bloods booked in. I will cal you consultant tmr as well and enquire re timings and prices for full fertility tests. Xxx

Mustkeepgoing2 · 10/01/2021 21:51

@RichmondLady1981 that is so true. I completely see your point and appreciate your advice about not throwing numbers around. Very sensible and anything to keep the internal panic down is very much appreciated these days.

I am okay thank you. EDD is Tuesday. I am grateful it falls around my FW rather then AF as my mood is always so much brighter around my FW then AF when I can be a Sally Sad Sack 🙈. In a way it’s been a long 9 months but also it’s gone so quickly too. I am trying not to think about it all too deeply as it’s not helpful for me. It won’t change things.

My LO is my absolute joy so I take stock at how lucky I am to have him and try not to let the TTC journey shadow what is a wonderful age.

I had a Hysterosalpingogram last week and my tubes are clear! Yay! It hurt a bit more than the HyCoSy but hopefully worth it, one for peace of mind and two because apparently they were given a good flush so hopefully that might help me a little bit.
It just all feels like such an education really TTC I just honestly never knew half of these things existed this time last year.

How are you lovely xxx

SophW194 · 11/01/2021 11:22

Hi all, I hope you’re all doing as well as can be ! 💜 sorry I’ve not been on in a while, kids are back at (online) school last week and it was my first week back after mc too so pretty busy ! I had my return to work interview on Friday and felt a bit low because of the way the lady worded my absence, something like ‘no heartbeat at scan so had the pregnancy terminated’. I found that last word really difficult to swallow like it was a choice ? Probably being too sensitive as I’m sure she meant it nicely as she told me in the meeting she’d been through the same thing a few years ago.

I’ve also been worrying because when I had my procedure they said they had some difficulty because there was scarring from a previous procedure to have abnormal cells removed. They said when you have this scarring you either have problems dilating in labour and need a section, or you have problems with the cervix not closing and needing a stitch during pregnancy. I think I’m about 4weeks 4 days now (not had a period since mc), but I’m really worrying about this now..does anyone have any experience of this by any chance ?

Thanks and good luck to everyone testing this week ! 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Xxx

Hopefulmummie · 11/01/2021 12:56

Hi everyone. I'm looking some assurance... It's been 6 weeks since my miscarriage and still no period. It's been 2 weeks since I ovulated as I was tracking so decided to take a pregnancy test just to see... And I'm getting lines 🙈 quite a faint line on the clear blue but darker on the strip..... I dunno if I want to believe I'm pregnant again?? eeeek. Attached pic

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/01/2021 12:57

@SophW194 some of the language definitely stings. I dont like that the medics refer to it as "products of conception" (you mean our hoped for baby), though must say all the clinicians I had expressed their own negative feelings about that language. I dont like "lost" the pregnancy either - the issue for me is that my body kept holding on even after things had gone wrong!

NatJ24 · 11/01/2021 13:19

@TheDaydreamBelievers where are you up to with getting a negative test? Do you still need to go in for tests?
I was 3 weeks after MC on Sat and I'm still getting a faint positive test.
Think I will give it another week and see if its faded anymore.

Garman · 11/01/2021 13:25

@hopefulmummie that looks like very definite positives!

NatJ24 · 11/01/2021 13:35

@Hopefulmummie yep they look like definite positives to me!!!! 😄

Mammaofgirls · 11/01/2021 13:37

Fingers crossed you are !!!
Just tested again in a few days and see if the lube is getting darker? I am I unable to give you any proper advice as I’m experiencing a similar thing , I’m almost 4 weeks post miscarriage and having positive tests , but never saw a negative in between !!!! I did a digital this morning and it said 1-2 weeks pregnant , I have my scan this Wednesday to check my miscarriage is complete as my first one got cancelled. Hopefully I will know more after my scan! X

RS2609 · 11/01/2021 13:39

@Hopefulmummie definitely looks positive, congratulations!

TheDaydreamBelievers · 11/01/2021 13:41

@Hopefulmummie that looks v positive. Did you get a negative in between?

@NatJ24 so this is 6 weeks since surgery and this morning is v v faint positive still. On Thursday they'll do a scan and bloods - I hope they show v low or nadda!!!

Hopefulmummie · 11/01/2021 14:00

@garman @NatJ24 @rs2609 @TheDaydreamBelievers thank you all. I'm just paranoid now incase it's still from the last pregnancy. I got a negative 2 weeks later although there was still sight of a very very faint line but I can't see how the lines would get darker after 4 weeks?

@Mammaofgirls thank you. I'm hoping it's not from previous pregnancy. It's annoying isn't it wanting to get a negative. Fingers crossed for your scan x

NatJ24 · 11/01/2021 14:06

@TheDaydreamBelievers oh fingers crossed for you!! I really hope that they say low or all gone. It is actually stressful all of this bit when waiting for it to be negative isnt it!
The hospital told me to do a test after 3 weeks and if it is postive to phone them about going in for a scan, but I think I will give it another week. If I am still getting a postive next Monday I will ring them as it seems to be common for people to still have the positive result for a few weeks after. I've done a few since Thursday and keep staring at the lines but they all look the same and I just keep going back as if one might have gone lighter in the mean time haha!

daisyorange2 · 11/01/2021 14:11

Hello ladies,

I don’t know if anyone remembers me from previous threads but I came away after struggling with this journey. Well I am back again after 4 BFP Saturday and 1 on a digital, only to have a chemical and a negative test again today. Life feels so cruel. This is my second loss in 6 months, has anyone visited their GP about recurrent losses and got some answers? I would love to know which tests to ask for. I have a short luteal phase so I know progesterone would be a good place to start. I’m 28 years old, normal BMI, no health issues... it just doesn’t make sense to me.

Sorry to everyone who has found themselves on this thread. I hope we all get our answers soon ♥️

bez91 · 11/01/2021 14:12

@Hopefulmummie if they've got darker since you testing for your negative I think you're probably onto a winner - congratulations!

Hopefulmummie · 11/01/2021 14:24

@bez91 I'm hoping so. Can't believe I've fell pregnant straight away as we weren't overly trying. DTD a couple of times before ovulation
I also had an ectopic pregnancy in June so know I'll be worried the next few weeks

M4v3r1ck · 11/01/2021 18:23

Evening ladies, hope you're all good!

I did my test provided by the hospital today and it was BFN! I passed tissue yesterday (they said I had some residual so hopefully that's it) and bleeding has been non-existent today, so I'm hoping that's me reset! 🤞🏻 I know a few others are in a similar situation, so hopefully you'll reset soon too! 😘

@Hopefulmummie that looks positive!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍 I can't think how/why they would get darker?!

@bxiiboo my understanding was 1 year of actively TTC for under 35s, and 6 months for 35 years and over!

@Mustkeepgoing2 I'm the same! I had no clue about all this TTC stuff until joining MN! Damn school for making you think you get pregnant first time! 🤪😂🤦🏻‍♀️

@SophW194 I'm sorry re: work! 😳 She obviously didn't realise what she was saying! I'm afraid I can't advise re: scarring, but hopefully you get some answers! 😘

@daisyorange2 I'm so sorry to hear this! Sending you much love! 😘

Garman · 11/01/2021 18:37

For anyone that might be a few weeks behind me this might be of help later on! I had mc at 10 weeks in the first week of Dec, af arrived December 24th. Before the mc I always ovulate around day 14, I've a 26-28 day cycle. Got a few very faint ov tests, but today at day 19 I got a clear positive for ovulation. So the mc has obviously delayed it a bit. Fingers crossed now for 10-14 days time when af is due (depending on which app I ask! 😂)

susiebluebell · 11/01/2021 18:54

Hi folks, just a note to say that I'm going to be backing off from posting for a while. Everything is OK! But my OH is with his mum for the foreseeable, which will put the brakes on ttc. It will also do me good to see less ttc stuff online for a bit, to stop me obsessing when I can't change anything.

I will still be thinking of you ladies all the time, I'm very fond of you despite this being an anonymous forum! See you soon x
