Hi and welcome @Gamechanger2019 so sorry to read of your loss. I never took any pregnancy tests after my mc, but my period showed up exactly a month after mc bleeding. Xx

Gamechanger2019 · 07/01/2021 21:02

Thanks ladies really appreciate it

CLSM · 07/01/2021 22:48

@Gamechanger2019 I tested two weeks after surgical removal and it was negative

susiebluebell · 08/01/2021 07:28

Good morning ladies! I am feeling much more positive than I have been recently. I have done a couple of pg tests which were negative, and surprisingly I am OK with it. AF is due today so hey ho.

How is everybody else faring? Xx

bez91 · 08/01/2021 07:53

Hey @susiebluebell good to hear you're feeling more positive. It is such a rollercoaster of emotions isn't it 😔

I'm CD7 so just on the OPKs waiting for FW which I think will start mid week next week just as DH starts his week on call. It literally always seems to coincide with that and can be a bit of a pain with him being out all day and night 🤦🏼‍♀️

Firevie · 08/01/2021 08:16

Morning @susiebluebell glad to read you are feeling better. My AF will start today I think as I already had some pink when wiping yesterday. I am okay I think. I am grateful that my periods are on time. But o think I will also call the nhs and book an appointment for tests which will probably be in a few months but just to have them booked in. I reflected last night and think I couldn’t have counted November and December really because I was so stressed with work not taking care of myself no eating properly no exercise lots of crying over work etc and we didn’t dtd much - often only on my peak day and ovulation day but not much more really. So I will use this new cycle to get back on track and as you said get back into my yoga etc. Xxx

Gamechanger2019 · 08/01/2021 08:44

@Firevie i know random but I swear pre-seed was a big factor in my last positive, do you use? Lovely to hear you’ve got your positivity back - you’ve got this 🙌🏼

Firevie · 08/01/2021 08:47

@Gamechanger2019 aw thanks hun! No I don’t but was thinking of getting it ...I’m going to boots tmr and will get pre seed and coq10 xx

Firevie · 08/01/2021 08:48

@CLSM how are you feeling? Xx

Gamechanger2019 · 08/01/2021 08:50

@Firevie I mean clearly it’s not the most romantic thing but let’s be honest none of this is. I did it like 20-30 minutes before and was all fine - actually made it a lot more comfortable and dare I say enjoyable for me. So fingers crossed xxx

KM89 · 08/01/2021 09:05

Hi everyone.

How do people feel on the reliability of one step pregnancy tests? Any recommendations for the best test to buy for confirmation?

I took one this morning fully expecting no 2nd line ... I honestly feel like I could come on any day ,I would be due on between tomorrow-monday going off average cycles.
I only took one to rule it out and get my mind ready for AF...

Any advice appreciated, feeling skeptical, excited and scared all at the same time!

Firevie · 08/01/2021 09:09

@Gamechanger2019 haha totally agree - none of this is romantic. And let’s face it we do it with one goal in mind :) cool I’ll get it on the weekend and once AF is out of the way start using it.
@KM89 I use clear blue ones - find those quite reliable. Good luck xx

jesp · 08/01/2021 09:44

hi all. Wondering if anyone has experienced late miscarriage and how long it took to get your cycle back/ovulating. My sons heart started slowing at 20w as the clock struck 12 for the new year, and now feel like conceiving before his birthday may 22nd will help make sense of it all. Does anyone have any experience with when they started ovulating as normal post such a late miscarriage? Thank you

CLSM · 08/01/2021 10:35

@Firevie thank you so much for asking I was very down yesterday but I am a lot better today. Next ovulation is week after next so not long to wait so praying for next time 😊

Firevie · 08/01/2021 11:35

@CLSM yay glad you’re feeling a little better and that’s the right attitude! And as you say not too long to wait. My ovulation will be at the end of the month so I have about two weeks to get my body balance and mental balance back again before we start the TTC journey again and this time for real :) xxx

PumpkinEverything · 08/01/2021 12:59

Morning/afternoon everyone! Latest on me is still got this weird off/on light bleeding. Felt horrible last night as my back was a bit sore and I was exhausted. We’d just spent 3 hours taking all the Christmas stuff down and I just wanted to go to bed. Had a bit of blood going to the toilet before bed but not too much and then none again today. Have no idea what it is and don’t know whether to mark it as spotting or AF on my apps 😩 just doesn’t seem to have been heavy enough for AF, but it’s been happening for 5 days ish now. My skin has broken out a bit, I’m tired and not sleeping properly at night, and my moods are a bit over the place, so I feel like I have some AF symptoms?! Not going to test again until Tuesday after my still faint positive this week as I think I’m just annoying myself doing them too often. OPK was 0.25 last night when I checked so I know I’m not ovulating right now either 😒

So sorry to find you here @jesp it all sounds horrible for you 😔 unfortunately I can’t really offer advice as mine was at 8 weeks. Think it seems to be you can ovulate 2-4 weeks after, but can take longer the further along you are so I’m not sure if you’d be waiting a while or not! Have you had a negative test yet, or not checked?

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/01/2021 13:28

@jesp I'm afraid I cant personally help but just wanted to say I'm so so sorry. 12 weeks was bad enough, 20w must be absolutely awful. Sending love to you and your family.

Update from me is that the EPU want to see me to do bloods and a scan as my pregnancy tests are still positives 5 weeks after surgery. However because of their business and my clinics schedules the soonest we could put in an appt is next Thursday! So might well be negative by then 🤣

PumpkinEverything · 08/01/2021 14:12

I’ve been wondering what’s going on with you @TheDaydreamBelievers 😊 was Monday the last time you tested and got that really faint one? Fingers crossed by the next time Thursday comes around it’s gone, it seems far enough away 😬

TheDaydreamBelievers · 08/01/2021 14:20

Yeah @PumpkinEverything. I now have some more FRERs (thanks amazon!) So might try again tomorrow first thing.

I'm now just worried that my cycles will be as awfully long as pre- pregnancy and MMC. We never worked out why that was before I got pregnant. My first cycle off pill was 141 days and I just dont want to have to wait that long for a chance every time 😭

PumpkinEverything · 08/01/2021 14:31

I’m sharing the same concerns @TheDaydreamBelievers although mine aren’t as long as yours was (mine ranged from 34-45) it’s still super annoying that you get one chance to try and then have to wait so long again 😔 did you ever get any tests or anything to check yours?

CLSM · 08/01/2021 14:41

@TheDaydreamBelievers @PumpkinEverything I’ve found that the digital ovulation tests are very helpful as found it hard to read with strips whether ovulation is on the way as it wouldn’t get dark until the peak where it was darker than control line. With the digital ones it’s very clear when good ways to dtd and peak day is. I found before I was trying to early encase as didn’t want to miss the peak and stopping to early

PumpkinEverything · 08/01/2021 15:04

Oh that’s really handy @CLSM do you know how it knows when you should start? Just kind of wondering how it would be able to tell with an irregular cycle

bez91 · 08/01/2021 15:31

I use the digital ones @PumpkinEverything and like @CLSM says i just find them a lot simpler. I've never used the others tbf but there is a guide on them of when to start testing, mine varies so I just opt for CD7

PumpkinEverything · 08/01/2021 15:39

Thanks @bez91 😊 think I’d do the same. Can I ask how it works in terms of telling you which days you should DTD? Does it just guess based on how long you’re expecting your cycle to be?

bez91 · 08/01/2021 17:11

@PumpkinEverything if you go on the Clearblue website and look for the "Advanced Digital ovulation test" there is instructions attached how they work.
Basically you get a blank smiley when hormones are static, a flashing smiley when a rise is detected and a static smiley when you get your peak. Your first test is always a blank smiley to obtain a "baseline" level hence why I think it suggests you start testing on a certain date. Sorry if that's a load of waffle! I've only used them 2 cycles and fell pregnant both times. Hopefully this time it's a viable pregnancy 🤞🏼
