@PumpkinEverything @TheDaydreamBelievers not what you wanted but they're going in the right direction! I think I mentioned previously I got a light positive the same day that hospital took a urine sample and told me my sample was negative (23rd December) I haven't tested since but I bet mine would have still been faint positives. The home pregnancy tests are too good!

NatJ24 · 04/01/2021 11:29

@PumpkinEverything definitely a good idea. If you can see it getting lighter at least then you know everything is settling don't you. Are you then going to start TTC again following your first cycle?

RichmondLady1981 · 04/01/2021 11:30

@HappyVibes I totally see a line! Start taking the meds!! Everything crossed for you my dear!! SOOO EXCITING!!! Perhaps get in touch with the medical professionals who you’ve been dealing with? Ask them if there’s anything else you can possibly do!!

💕

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 11:36

I’ve been trying to keep your experience in mind @bez91 when I’m testing! Can I ask was your light positive similar or even fainter to mine? And also, what all did they do when you went to the hospital? I’ve been thinking that these cheapie tests are too good sometimes 🤦‍♀️ Also wondering if this spotting I’ve experienced last night and today is my levels dropping again or if it’s something else!

@NatJ24 we were never told to wait for a first cycle so we’re trying but not trying right now 😂 my OPKs have been all over the place and my cycles were irregular before so I feel like I cant pinpoint ovulation myself anyway, and will find it hard to know this month.

bez91 · 04/01/2021 11:46

@PumpkinEverything very very similar test to be honest. They just told me to come in as was still testing positive at just less than 3 weeks post surgery and she said we'll do a urine sample first and if it's positive we'll do bloods and they obviously didn't need to 🤷‍♀️ I suppose the bleeding could be a sign of AF, I'm pretty sure that I must have ovulated whilst still positive or an extremely short luteal phase. Then again could be implantation bleeding 😂 it's not a clear science is it!

We were a bit like that too, trying not trying but to be fair I think I was just as elated to see AF as a positive PT this month 🙈

NatJ24 · 04/01/2021 11:47

@PumpkinEverything well from reading online unless you have had complications and are told by a doctor to wait for medical reasons there is no reason you cant start trying right away can you. It says the first cycle thing is all to do with dating the pregnancy but not actually for medical reasons. I think we will start trying right away and see what happens. Like you said its probably going to be hard to pin point ovulation for a bit but can still give it a go 🙂
I also agree with the home tests being super sensitive and probably picking up tiny amounts of hormones

legohaus · 04/01/2021 13:17

AF arrived for me on Jan 2nd, a day early, so I guess we're back to it again this month.

My friend (who found out she was accidentally pregnant with her third on the day my MC started) has just sent me the pics of her 12 week scan, from today.

I feel about ready to jump out of the window. Does this ever get easier??

Garman · 04/01/2021 14:02

@legohaus that's so tough, my friend wanted to meet up the day after her 12 week scan on nye to console me, I love her but she is literally the last person I want to see. It will get easier with time, but I can't say how long. Right now the thoughts of seeing her in summer with the new baby are killer, and that's 6 months away 😔

Getting completely negative ovulation tests, but Ovia app says this is my fertile week, and this app is all I used to conceive the 4 times that I have (I have 2 dc). I have no clue about ovulation tests tbh, does anyone have any clarity on that for me?

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 14:11

That’s reassuring to know @bez91 yeah I’ve been doing OPKs maybe every two days, when really according to my cycle length and how far in I’m at I should be doing 2 a day. Getting a few cramps on and off today which I’m wondering is either ovulation cramps (will try and get a 2 hour hold to test) or if I’m being blessed with a 28 day cycle for once and it’s AF. I’d be happy with either 😂 and I genuinely was happy when she arrived for you because for the first cycle the sign of her or a BFP is so good to know your body is back to normal!

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 14:13

I use Ovia, Premom and flo @Garman and all 3 of them were wrong about my ovulation when I got pregnant. Two of them have said my fertile week was last week (when my tests weren’t coming back as high/positive) and the other doesn’t know what’s going on due to my MC. I would probably try to rely more on the testing and your body signs rather than an app to be honest! They can only guess really

Garman · 04/01/2021 15:04

It's just weird that the app has been literally all I've used and conceived first go 4 times, I feel like I actually have more faith in that than ovulation tests!

Had my 2nd follow up scan in epu, finally deemed complete miscarriage and I don't have to go back, thank god. A fresh start and put it behind me for the new year.

MrsF111 · 04/01/2021 15:17

@legohaus sorry :( thats so difficult, ive got similar, both best friends and my sister, love them but its SO horrible

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 16:05

@PumpkinEverything can I ask how you know when you have to test 2 times a day with OPKs?

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 16:14

It was the Premom app told me when to start @TheDaydreamBelievers and I’ve had a look back at the cycle I got pregnant and I started doing mine twice a day 3 weeks after my last period, and I did that for around 9 days before I got my peak. I’m glad I did them twice a day as I actually got my peak at like 11:30pm at night which was just as I went to bed. It stayed high the next day, but just slightly lower than my peak. I think you probably start doing them twice a day just before and during your fertile week so you don’t miss it 😊

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 16:25

@PumpkinEverything I will maybe wait for next cycle then as I currently have noooo idea where I am at.

Anyone good with charts? No idea what I should be expecting

@TheDaydreamBelievers with the OPKs, as your second line starts to get a bit more prominent, start to test then at least twice a day...some women test three times, but I do morning and night.

The PreMom app is amazing for determining the rises and it’s literally so reassuring.

The apps are good once you’ve got a consistent cycle, but sadly post MC, cycles can often be a little different and often a little all over. But you mr apps won’t know that, so your apps will continue as pre MC, whereas the OPKs are going from your current hormones so are much more reliable at this stage. I just carry on using the apps as a general guide, but then often have to change the apps because the OPKs say different.

Xxxxx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 04/01/2021 16:39

@HappyVibes the apps really need a post MC setting. I have Natural Cycles and Fertility Friend but maybe I need premom too...

Garman · 04/01/2021 17:28

Okay thanks @HappyVibes that makes sense. My cycle actually returned completely normal and bang on schedule as if the mc never happened, so it's a pity ovulation doesn't seem to be happening as normal too!

susiebluebell · 04/01/2021 18:25

I use Clue and that's been pretty reliable so far. Doesn't have a miscarriage setting (boo) but you can opt to exclude individual cycles from your analysis. So I've excluded the cycle where I was pregnant/mc, and the cycle just gone which was a random long one. That means the app still gets my average cycle length and predicted ov roughly right.

I would say though, learn to follow what your cervical mucus is doing! And even the size and shape of your vaginal opening (tmi sorry) Leading up to fertile window I have loads more cm than usual and it's gloopy/egg white consistency. The opening gets more prominent/swollen somehow and feels more puffed out? Whereas after fertile window, it shrinks back in sort of and is smaller. I am cringing writing this 😂 but it's so reassuring to read the signs from your actual body instead of estimates from an app! Xx

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 18:27

I find Premom really good @TheDaydreamBelievers and it actually does have an option of miscarriage bleeding which I like. The only annoying thing now is it doesn’t know which CD I’m on because it’s got my pregnancy and miscarriage lumped together, so I have to keep switching to other apps where I logged my surgery as a period. I don’t think I’d have got pregnant without it last time tbh as I found the charts and table really easy to read and understand and I tried to log my symptoms at the end of the day.

I have no idea what’s going on with me as this day has went on and it’s making me feel like a teenager again. So faint line this morning with some spotting as we know this morning. I’ve had some lower left cramps on and off today as well. Went for a walk not long ago and got a few more cramps that almost made me stop once or twice. Got home to go to the bathroom and noticed some bleeding in my underwear which was a mix of brown and red on wiping (sorry this is all TMI but my head is going!) and now I’m like, eh is this AF? I’d be CD27 if I use my surgery as day 1. I haven’t had a 28 day cycle since the pill so this would be unusual for me, but I’d be delighted if it was. I did an OPK two weeks ago tomorrow that gave me a peak which I wrote off as I was only two weeks post surgery so thought jt was wrong (couldn’t DTD either due to still bleeding anyway) so it would almost make sense if that was actually accurate? I’ve had no bleeding or spotting since Christmas Day in relation to the miscarriage 🤷‍♀️

PumpkinEverything · 04/01/2021 18:29

I know you’re cringing at that @susiebluebell but I actually loved that post! It made me both laugh and smile. I’ve been trying to figure this all out as well but it’s so hard sometimes. I just can’t figure out the cervical position at all and my nails are always too long and sharp that I don’t like poking about 😂😂

susiebluebell · 04/01/2021 18:32

@NatJ24 You asked about my TTC journey so far - We've been 'not trying, not preventing' since Nov '19. Fell pregnant end of July and miscarried mid-August at 5wks and a bit. After that was when I started tracking properly and TTC actively. I'm into my 4th cycle post-MC. I'm 30 and my man is 35 with no health problems that we know of 😊 xx

@HappyVibes Definitely see that line there, very faint but it's still so early as you said. I'm over the moon for you 😊 Get on those supplements right now! Xx

susiebluebell · 04/01/2021 18:34

Ah I always have short nails 😉😉 It takes a bit of getting used to. I'm still not good on feeling the cervix but closer to home I'm good! 😂
susiebluebell · 04/01/2021 18:38

@PumpkinEverything I've just read your longer post and I'm sorry you're having a time of it. With the timing, it DOES sound like the positive OPK could have been correctly picking up ovulation rather than leftover pg hormones. Wait and see? Shit answer but only realistic option xx

Wishingfornumber2 · 04/01/2021 19:16

@HappyVibes congrats, I can definitely see a line there 🥰

@familybythesea congrats on your bfp too 🥰
