Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@ELBlack I keep putting it off but need to get my ass into gear now 🙈 well after Christmas anyway.

That’s a good plan, at least you’ll cover yourself for your whole cycle. Are you going to use opk’s or not bother?
Hahaha I tell myself this every month but clearly don’t take my own advise, easier said than done isn’t it!

I’m pretty sure it’s fine to carry on taking them throughout. I was reading up on whether to take breaks from conceive plus during AF and it said it’s fine to carry on. They have folic acid in so I’m assuming it’ll be the same.

Just had really bad cramping so think af is imminent now, just annoyed I’ve wasted my tests 🙄

I hate to say this to you all because I thought it was a load of rubbish before I decided to do this this cycle but I stopped everything. I deleted the apps, I didn’t do opks, we both took pregnacare for him and her preconception vitamins and we just had fun. I cannot believe I got a BFP after we ‘stopped trying’. As you can imagine it didn’t leave my mind once following everyday what CD I was but just stepping back and relaxing a bit obviously worked🥺 Good luck to all of you and I’m just praying for a healthy rainbow baby! 🤞🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️

@jasmineh these frer’s need to be taken off the market, I did 4 tests in total and they all had indent lines. Today’s was fainter than Saturdays so if it was a true positive it’d deffos have been darker. If it was my first one I’d probably still think it was a vvv faint positive.

Think my cycles playing tricks on me this month though, still haven’t got my PMS boobs, they’re just really veiny and obvs the cramps. Just want it to come now.

That’s so good I’m really happy for you 😊. Did you do another test this morning?
I’m going to do the same next month, its just unbearable this whole tracking and symptom spotting

@Mariex1989 how do you know they are indent lines and not faint BFPs?
If you are cramping that could be a pregnancy sign too 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm scared if I test on Xmas morning (11DPO) with a FRER and think it's a BFP then what if it turns out not to be 🙈 but I need to test early to know whether to drink or not and I've seen loads of other people getting their BFPs 10DPO onwards using FRERs

@Emmgrem I just think if it was a proper positive then it would have been darker by now? Thing is I can’t be sure when I’m due on as it fluctuates every month, so annoying! I’ll ease off with the POAS obsession for a few days and see if AF comes.

It’s difficult isn’t it! Is it frer’s you’ve got? Maybe pee in a cup and use a couple tests and see if they both come out the same?

@jasmineh that's good to know. My DH's cousin said the same and she got pregnant 3rd cycle. I honestly think if we just dtd every 2 or 3 days throughout the month, that gives us as good as, if not a better chance then just doing right before and on ovulation. That way there's no chance to miss the fertile window, and don't have to deal with the negative OPK's, waiting for peaks etc. How are you feeling anyway? Can't remember what day you got your bfp now! 🤔

@Alist12 - sorry for the late reply! It was my birthday weekend so was very busy, but yes, I think lots of CM is a good sign.

@jasmineh - CONGRATS!! That is fantastic news!! Praying for a healthy sticky bean for you. I'm still hoping for my rainbow baby too.

@ELBlack - sorry that you woke up to that b**tch this morning! But yes, the silver lining is a good old booze up on Xmas day. And it seems like a good plan you have with your DH from January.

I know I've still got 4 days before AF is due but I don't think it's a BFP for me this month. Just have a feeling.

I'm freaking out a little🙈 I've had the weirdest cramps for days but I kept telling myself to not think anything of it because I know my body could be tricking me into thinking it's a positive when it could just be AF but I've just wiped (sorry TMI) and there's a little bit of spotting which I never ever get during my cycle 🤞🏻🤞🏻

AF is still 5 days away and would never usually be this early and it was just smallest bit and pink in colour

@Mariex1989 I’ve never used frer but it’s annoying because I’ve heard such good things about them!!! So I’m very surprised about the indent :( normally it’s blue dyes that everyone has problems with! The boobs situ is really weird! Has af started yet? Maybe test again with a different brand Wednesday morning?! I done another test this morning and the line is defo darker. Now going to Tesco to get more for the next few days😂

@ELBlack yeah exactly see! It happens to lots of people when they aren’t tracking everything which is crazy! We just bd every other day but it wasn’t forced at all just happened so defo think every 2/3 days will be enough as sperm survives up to 5 days! I’m feeling good thank you, nervous as don’t want to loose this one but thinking positive! Symptoms wise I just have sore nipples and feel a bit sick in the mornings at the moment! I don’t know what dpo I was but I was CD25 and 2 days before af!

@jasmineh I thought they were reliable but I’ve been reading up on it since and apparently they’re quite bad for the indents :/. AF still isn’t here and my cramps and back pain have completely gone again now 🙈🙈

So exciting for you!! Your BFP was strong before and if it’s darker now I’d definitely be thinking it’s a sticky one this time 😊

@Mariex1989 hopefully 🤞🏻 I feel so odd, like I've done a big workout when I have done absolutely no exercise for weeks 🙈

I'm not sure when I will test, I think I will leave it a few more days. And maybe test Wednesday?

Just took a test (couldn't help myself) 🙈 but it was a BFN.

Wish I hadn't taken it now as it just makes me think I was imagining it all.

I'm only 10DPO so I know it can still just be too early so I'm going to wait to see if AF shows her face now 🙈

@Giraffle - Welcome aboard! I'm not testing early. I'm due on Christmas Day so I'm going to wait until NYE at least before testing. I was 4 days late last month; did a test which was a BFN and then came on 12 hours later.

I'm feeling a little "off" today. I haven't been sleeping great the last few nights and I did have a busy weekend so I'm thinking it could just be that? Don't want to read too much into it.

@Amyc94 super early though so hopefully it’ll change in a couple days 😊.

Woke up feeling so run down and sick, did a test, BFN 😂 why can’t I stop myself from POAS! anyway looks like I’ve got a lovely seasonal cold just in time for Christmas, fab!

Boobs are full and sore but that's also a PMS symptom for me. Let's see. Either way, by Jan 1st I'll know if Santa has brought me a BFP!

@Foundmyfeet hahah I hope so! It’s my first time hosting Christmas so I don’t really have a clue what to do 🙈 at least there’s only 5 of us so don’t have to cook for a huge group.

@Emmgrem yeah frer with fmu for me too. This one was actually stark white unlike the others that had faint lines

So I gave in to the urge to test and got a BFN this morning with CB 6 day early one 😞 I’m 10 DPO and normally AF arrives 12 - 13 DPO, so I think that me out of the running this month.

I'm going to catch up on the thread his evening but just needed to tell someone (not telling other half yet) that I tested today I think 10dpo and was the whitest BFN not even a glimmer of hope 😔 I know it's early but it felt like a kick in the teeth I've had so many symptoms this month and had such high hopes from using the clear blue advanced for the first month...

Fingers crossed still I suppose... lots of love to you all ❤️ so glad this community is here for support ❤️
