Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

It’s still aaaages away, I’ve booked a private gender scan for the 12th June as I’m impatient and can’t wait for the nhs one 😅.

Yours must be soon right???

Haven’t even had my first scan yet, that’s on the 17th. I’ll be 12 weeks this Monday but hopefully the week will fly as I’m so anxious 🙈 x

@Mariex1989 it will come so quickly though! Yes, I have my scan on Monday. I'll be 20+4 😁 so excited

DH and I are off to Athens on May 30th. There are so many hoops to jump just to get out of the bloody country! Honest to God! And it costs a small fortune before we've even left!

Have you bought much baby stuff? I think I’m going a bit eager and already got a fair few items!

@Foundmyfeet I’m guessing boy too! Purely just because OH’s family are very boy heavy, I’d fall over in shock if it’s a girl.

@Mariex1989 I didn't buy anything until after my dating scan, and I only got a blanket and a baby grow, but we ordered some bigger stuff last night as it takes months to come! I didn't want to get loads of stuff until after the 20 week scan, but each to their own! They're so fun to shop for though 😍

I haven’t bought anything massive just a few clothes that I couldn’t resist and a monitor as it was on really good offer so couldn’t leave it. I’ll try refrain now for a bit 🙈

How’re you feeling? Has all your sickness/other lovely pregnancy symptoms gone now? x

@Mariex1989 I've felt horrendous today. I think my whooping cough vaccine kicked it off, but I was so sick and in bed all day! Otherwise, feeling much better.

How are your symptoms?

@ELBlack oh gosh bless ya! Just make sure you get lots of rest ☹️ Hopefully it’s just a one off for you.

My symptoms aren’t too bad now thanks. Just nauseous every now and again but definitely eased. I’ve lost half a stone with being so sick for a few weeks, but it’s definitely going to creep back up now I’ve found my appetite again!

@Mariex1989 that's good you're feeling better! Putting on the weight is a good thing now 😁

Had my scan today. All was perfect, measuring at 13 weeks exactly so EDD is 22nd November xx

@Mariex1989 awww congratulations! So pleased it all went ok. What a sweet little bean xx

@ELBlack yeah I think it’s definitely a worry until then isn’t it and already feel more calm knowing everything is as should be.

Ahhh I don’t know. I’m so bad at guessing from scans, all my close friends except 2 have guessed girl from the pic. I’m on a November babies Facebook group too and they’ve all put girl! So that’s kinda thrown me as I was adamant it would be a boy. But we’re happy with either and only a few more weeks to wait ☺️ Xx

@Mariex1989 I'm terrible at nubs so can't even offer advice! I can't even see the nub in your pic 😳

Athens is looming...next weekend! What a palaver just to get out of the bloody country for 3 days..and costly too!

@Foundmyfeet Hello! How are you? I am good thank you! Starting to feel baby a lot more now which is so lovely!

We've got a few bits and pieces, ordered her wardrobe, chest of drawers and feeding chair but not even started thinking about the pram or cot. I've been given loads of clothes and I've got her some and some books and toys etc.

That's come around quickly! I've not been following but is it not a green country? Is that why it's been a faff? X

@ELBlack - oh god, yes, the faff is something else!! It's amber at the moment and knowing my luck it'll be green next month after we get back! Lol! We'll be covid testing 4 times within 11 days and will have to pay £220 each for the privilege. It's actually going to work out more costly to go to Athens than to do tests here in the UK. The only reason why I'm going ahead with it is because I've heard they're more thorough and they have higher success rates. Oh, and also because I need some bloody sun!
Sod's law though, they sent me an email on Sunday to say my sample had arrived! TWO MONTHS it took to get there. Needless to say, it's too old to carry out the tests. Must be God's way of saying I need to go to Athens :)

Baby/kiddie shopping is so much fun! Particularly for girls. In saying that, little boys clothes are very trendy nowadays. I love shopping for my nieces ( 2 x 4.5 year olds and 1 x 1 year old) seeing as my DD is going on 15 and doesn't like the stuff I like! Apparently I'm "old fashioned" which translates as "not grungy/goth-like" enough. I'm just all shiny and sparkles me....the more sparkly the better. I think I must've been a magpie in a previous life!
