Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@ELBlack I think so. I did a “due date calculator” thing and it says 22nd November, but with my weird irregular past few cycles I don’t really know how they’ll gage it. If we went on LMP I was 4 weeks yesterday xx

@Mariex1989 OMG! OMG!! I just leapt out of the chair when I read this! Congrats!! You see, you started to focus on the wedding, so less focus on conceiving and BAM!!! Whoop whoop! It's so exciting!! 🍾🍾🍾

@ELBlack - you crossed my mind today; knowing that your scan was around about now. Sorry you've been feeling shite the last few weeks though.

@Mariex1989 they'll go on LMP until you have your dating scan at 12w. Eekkk so excited for you!!

I can't believe it's my scan today. I slept really well considering. I'm nervous, but I'm also excited. I just have a feeling the little baby is safe and sound in there! 😊

@ELBlack so excited for you! What time is your scan?

I'm ok. Just been a little stressed with life stuff. Did my tracking this cycle with Premom strips and the app. Had a lovely big surge on CD13. Got some good action in! Lol! AF is due this weekend so let's see.
In the meantime I've been in contact with a fertility clinic in Greece. Someone I know had success there. The consultant was lovely. She said that she wants to do some assessments to see if there is a fixable reason for my MC's. So I have to send samples off during my next cycle etc. 🤮
If there is something fixable then they'll tell me what I need to do. If all looks good then it'll be an IVF round. Again.

@Foundmyfeet not until 3:15 which feels like a lifetime away 😂

@Foundmyfeet aww bless you thank you so much, I was in utter shock literally couldn’t believe my eyes. I’m due on tomorrow so want to get that out of the way but I did another frer and don’t think a line can get much darker than this 😅.

Aw gosh, you never know though! If you’ve been using the strips and had a surge you’ll be in for a decent chance! Fingers and toes and everything crossed for you! And if not at least you’ve got options. Keep us posted on what they say and I’m just hoping af doesn’t come for you xx

I’ve already booked a private early scan for 10th April as I just keep thinking it’s too good to be true and getting a bit anxious, but I guess it’s normal to feel like this

@Mariex1989 Wow! That is a strong line! Defo no evaps there this time! Maybe twins?! Lol! Try not to be anxious. It's so much easier said than done, I know, but as I said to ELBlack before, just try and relax and enjoy the pregnancy. Hopefully you won't have full force morning sickness so you can enjoy pregnancy all the more.

@ELBlack - Can't wait to hear how you saw your little bubba at the scan this afternoon. Thanks for sending the positive vibes my way.

Even though I'm feeling like the walls are closing in on my fertility window, on the plus side, I'm down 23lbs! Lol! My clothes are fitting me fantastically and my hubby is happy that my bust hasn't shrunk even if my tummy, face and legs have! I wish I could lose this fat off my blasted arms though!

The scan went really well! Measuring at 13 weeks!! Seeing baby wriggling about was actually the cutest thing I've ever seen!!

@Foundmyfeet Bloody hell 23lbs!!! Incredible, well done you that’s amazing! Bet you’re so chuffed.
Haha definitely no dreaded evap this time 🙈 oh god don’t give me more anxiety with twins 😂😂😂.

@ELBlack awwwwwwww wow perfect!! Proper little baby now 🥲 soooo cute! Definitely worth the 3:15pm wait. Are you still keeping the gender as a surprise?

I started feeling really queasy this afternoon had to go for a lie down. Not sure if it’s the beginning of something or just me working myself up xx

@ELBlack my friend has a theory about looking at the jaw, and going off that I’d say girl too! But realistically I have no idea and guessed all my friends babies genders wrong in the past 😂 xx

@ELBlack oh look at that perfect little baby! How amazing! I bet you were so made up seeing him/her on the screen. Just think, in a few weeks you'll be holding him/her in your arms!

Haha good on ya, yes please have a few for me! I went through a fair bit of wine the night before my BFP I was that convinced it wasn’t happening for us, so at least I had my last hurrah 😂 xx

Morning Ladies, how are you doing?

AF is due tomorrow/Sunday but I've not had much in the way of niggles this month, so I just POAS and it's BFN.

I ordered some more OPK's which arrived yesterday. I'm going to track for another month and if no success, I'll just wait to get to Greece!

Hi @Foundmyfeet I'm good thanks! There's still time for it to be positive. My friend didn't get a positive until nearly a week after her missed period with her 3rd. Which is unusual but still possible.

@Foundmyfeet definitely still chance until you af (hopefully doesn’t) arrive. Which test did you use? Really hoping you get your BFP ASAP!

Yeah I’m not bad thank you. I had my first proper glimpse of morning sickness this morning which wasn’t pleasant (hoping it was a once off :p), but other than that all good xx

I did an el-cheapo Poundland one. But I have had BFP's on them before.

Just seen that Katie Price is apparently expecting her 6th! Wow! Given me hope seeing as we're the same age, although she is a fertile Myrtle and I'm clearly not!

AF arrived yesterday afternoon. She's a pain in the a*!! Felt a little tearful walking back from the park with the dogs. DH gave me a little pep talk, bless him. I just want us to have a baby together!
My ex left me when I was pregnant with DD and I didn't meet DH until DD was 9yo, so I never had the support of a partner or that family unit which I'd always imagined I'd have when starting my own family.
I always wanted children and always said I'd start at 30 even though I was 28 when I conceived DD. I had a couple of relationships in between the ex and DH but none serious enough to consider having children with; until I met DH. By then, I was 38. Married at 40. And now struggling to have a healthy pregnancy.
Funny, I thought I was doing it all the right way second time around (ex and I were never married and he has a son from his previous relationship so I was the "bitch" stepmother of course), but now I'm questioning if I should've just pierced holes in the condoms from the first month I met DH! 🤔🤭
I just don't want DH to have any regrets with me. I know he loves me very much but I can't help but feel I will have failed him if we can't have children together. It's stupid to feel this way, I know, because we have so many other blessings in our lives.
There is also the option of egg donation. I just worry that I wouldn't be able to bond the same with a baby which is not biologically mine? I'd love it and care for it, but would it feel like a niece or nephew?
Anyway, got my "sample" together at 5:30am and will send off to Greece later today. Wish I could get in that parcel too!

I'm so sorry @Foundmyfeet I didn't get a notification for this! I'm really sorry AF arrived, the little bitch! And I'm so sorry you're feeling like you should have done things differently, especially when you're so desperate to have a little one with your DH. As harsh as it sounds, thinking like that won't help or change anything. Your husband sounds so supportive and like he adores you and DD, even if she's not biologically his, that's not what makes a family. Love, support, memories and being there is what makes a family! Good luck with your sample to Greece. I really do hope you get your baby ❤️

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Try not to have any regrets about not trying earlier etc, your OH clearly loves you and will support you through everything I’m sure. You’re more important to him than anything and I’m sure he will never hold this against you. Get that sample sent off and go from there, you never know! Stranger things have happened.
Have you considered surrogacy? I don’t really know much about it but maybe that could be another option? There’s a documentary on it at the moment that’s quite interesting!
Please don’t beat yourself up about it and always here if you need to rant xxx

@ELBlack I’m good thanks, how’re you? Still no raging symptoms yet. The sickness the other morning must have been a one off as I’ve not had it since, just waves of nausea.
I was going to ask actually, how many weeks were you when you went for your first scan? I’m beginning to think I’ve booked mine way too early xx

@Mariex1989 mine didn't kick in until 6.5 weeks. We went for our scan at 7+5. Tbh, you don't see a lot, but it's just reassuring to hear the heartbeat and know everything is OK. I'd recommend going around 8 weeks if you can. When did you book for?

I'm actually feeling OK thanks. Tired, but less nauseous! I seemed to get rid of it pretty quickly this morning 😊

@ELBlack ah that’s reassuring then, I’m only 5+2 today so I guess plenty time for it to kick in still! Glad it’s easing off for you ☺️ It’s funny how you wish to have symptoms and when you do you wish they’d stop 😂.

Mine is on the 10th April and I’ll be 7+5 as well. Not expecting to see anything but like you say, just want to know things are progressing as should! I’ve also got one booked for the 21st April (9+2) 😂 just because it’ll almost be my birthday and I’ll be questioned on why I’m not drinking so planning on maybe telling a few close friends then if everything’s okay xx

Thank you for your kindness. You're both right, my hubby is so supportive and he adores me and DD. He is genuinely one of a kind and I know how much of a lucky lady I am.

@Mariex1989 - surrogacy is on the list but I was told by the consultant that my uterus is fine so it's probably my eggs because of my age, hence the egg donation being the first port of call. Let's see. Still waiting for confirmation that my samples have been received in Greece. Xx
