Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

Morning! I'm okay thanks, nausea is definitely still hanging around, and seems to be super random now so I never know when it is going to strike, and although it doesn't last as long or isn't as intense as it was before, it's harder to know how to get rid of it as usual tricks aren't working. The vivid dreams are also in full force still and so is the thirst/ need to pee constantly 😂 a vicious cycle. Otherwise I'm all good thanks. Starting to get a bump now but I'm too big for my normal clothes and too small for maternity. Classic!

Quite good thanks have been distracting, especially when it's such a sensitive time. Hopefully you'll get your confirmation they've arrived soon 🤞

I also think we are going to find out the sex of the baby 😂🙈 after all that, I just really want to know now! Lol

@Foundmyfeet bless you it must be so hard and frustrating! Did they give you a time frame on when you should expect your results? Hoping you get them soon and can start planning and moving ahead with it all.

@ELBlack hahah I’m SO happy you’re finding out the sex! I just don’t know how people can wait 9 months, I’m only 6 weeks and already getting impatient 😅.

Oh gosh you might just have to live in leggings and stretchy dresses until bump is big enough for maternity?

I’m not too bad thanks both. I still don’t have many symptoms and yesterday it got me quite down worrying about it.
Just had sore boobs but only off and on, tired (although I felt super active yesterday) and very slight nausea from when I get up to around lunchtime. Is this normal? 🥴 xx

@Mariex1989 we are pretty sure we are finding out, but might still change our minds 😂 I'm pretty sure it's a girl, so will be really shocked if it's a boy. Team healthy though of course!

Yes, I found around 6 weeks I was feeling like that. I didn't have many symptoms at all and I had a really anxious week during week 6. But by week 7 they all came and are still here 😂 when is your scan?

Yes, I have been living in leggings, I can't wait for dress weather!

@ELBlack haha it’ll be nice to know and get organised. I know people say you don’t get many surprises anymore, but it’ll still be a surprise what he/she will look like ☺️. I’m pretty sure I’ll be having a boy as both our families are very very boy dominant.

Ah good that makes me feel better. I was just overthinking everything yesterday. God what a rollercoaster 🙈!

Scan is a week on Saturday (10th). I’ll be 7+5 so hoping to at least get a bit of reassurance but read some horror stories on here regarding early scans

I don't feel like I need to get organised in terms of nursery or clothes etc because you can put them in anything, I suppose it's more just the making it feel real etc! So exciting though.

Haha I guarantee you'll have a girl and I'll have a boy 😂 I did some nub group guesses etc, and everyone so far has said girl, but could be a load of crap lol!

Aww I wouldn't worry about it. I had such a great experience with my early scan, so it really depends on where you go I think x

@ELBlack yeah that’s true! I was saying to my friend I won’t feel like it’s real until I know the gender.

Haha it would be typical wouldn’t it! But like you said, long and it’s happy and healthy I don’t have a gender preference.

I’ve booked where my friend went, but she was further along than I’ll be. I’m sure it’ll be fine, I’ve just turned into a worrier 😂.

Will you book anymore private scans or just wait until your next nhs one? X

@ELBlack all was absolutely fine 🙂 measuring at 7+2 and EDD is 25th November.
Pictures aren’t very clear as it’s only a little blob and I kept breathing erratically from neves 😂 xx

@Mariex1989 pleased it all went ok! They're so tiny at that stage it's hard to get measurements. Your due date will probably change by the time you have your dating scan! Made up for you though xx

@ELBlack to be fair that date makes sense and fits in with when we dtt, plus my cycles can be all over the shop.
She mentioned I have a small bleed from implantation but isn’t anything to worry about. So glad I did the early scan ☺️ Xx

Sorry I've been a bit absent but I've had my hands full with one thing or another.
No news from Athens yet. They said to give it about 3 weeks so we are now just dead on 3 weeks. I'm sure I will hear from them soon.
We are going away for a staycation next week. Just what the doctor ordered. Need to be among nature and fresh air to reboot the system.

@Foundmyfeet hopefully you get the results soon from Athens. Let us know when you do and I have everything crossed it’s the results you’re hoping for 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻.

I’m currently feeling like utter shite 😂 getting quite bad nausea and sickness. In a way it’s comforting I suppose but some days it’s suuuuper bad. It’s funny I was wishing for this a few weeks ago 🙈😂 xx

@Mariex1989 so happy that you are getting all the "good" symptoms! lol! Don't worry, they'll pass after a few weeks and you'll be In full bloom.

Hi @Foundmyfeet I'm good thank you! Starting to get a good bump now and feeling kicks 😍 still feeling sick but much less than I was. Today was bad when it was here, but passed quite quickly each time it came. How are you? Any news from Athens?

@ELBlack oh what a perfect little bump! Cooking nicely! I loved feeling the kicks. At first they felt like little bubbles rising in my belly and then one day she gave me a good boot! Lol! I went racing in Ibiza at 5 months pregnant and she was going ballistic in my belly.
When's your next scan?
My sample didn't reach Athens. Don't know what happened. It's not even found it's way back to me despite having put my address on the back of the parcel. Trying not to think that it's a sign that I shouldn't do it? Anyway, the clinical director suggested we go out there for 3 days for the assessments so DH and I are planning on doing so at the end of this month. We're going to combine it as our anniversary celebration too.
I just realised that it was a year ago today (1st May) that I had my last BFP which obviously didn't end well. Oh well.

*raving not racing! Who goes racing in Ibiza?! Lol!

@Foundmyfeet thank you! I have found it quite strange, but definitely loving it more now I could pass for pregnant and feeling little movements. So far they've all been really subtle but yesterday there was one big kick or punch 😂 haha that's so much fun!! She must have loved the music and all the dancing!

Next scan is 10th May, so I will be 20+4. I'll let you know the sex after!

Oh god, so sorry it never got there. I don't think it's a sign of anything, just given you the opportunity for a nice few days away, especially over your anniversary. Ah gosh, sorry to hear that. I hope you had some wine and a nice evening and you weren't feeling too upset xx

@Foundmyfeet I’m good thanks 😊. My sickness has been almost unbearable the last few weeks but it seems to be easing off a bit now, just nauseous and no physical vomiting for the last couple days, hopefully means it’s starting to bugger off!
I had another private scan when I was 9 weeks and it was crazy seeing how much it had grown. Baby was kicking/fidgeting away, the sonographer was saying it must be an active one as they don’t usually see much movement that early, looks like I have a wriggler on my hands! I have my “12” week scan on the 17th, but I’ll actually be 13 weeks then.
That’s crazy about your sample not reaching! But a fab excuse for a nice trip to Greece!
Aww bless you, hope you had a strong drink yesterday to get the thought of the BFP out of your mind ☹️.

Yeah it's much better than it was, but I do still have bad hours here and there. Yes, we are definitely going to find out. I really don't know what it will be! So I am so excited

I’m still convinced I’ll have a boy, but people that know think girl because of how sick I’ve been, but god knows how much truth is in those theories! xx
