Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@ELBlack that’s okay I’ve got over my paddy about it now 😂 AF arrived this afternoon, so at least it wasn’t as long as last month!

Getting married next July. I’m starting to think just to give up now until after the wedding. I’m finally starting to show some progression to my wedding diet so given me the motivation to carry that on. I mean it’s only 4lbs but better than nothing 😂 x

ELBlack · 15/02/2021 20:50

@Mariex1989 I'm shocked at those indent lines then!! At least she's here and you're not in limbo

Aww how exciting! If you do decide to try with OPK's I recommend the femometer ones from amazon along with the App x

Alist12 · 15/02/2021 22:17

@ELBlack so happy for you sweetie!
Me and my fiancé have continued to ttc after our miscarriage last month, I did an opk yesterday and it came up with a peak reading but the level read 0.8 is this normal? The test line was not darker then the control line however it still came up with it. I am so so confused as this has never happened to me before. I haven't had any egg white mucus it's just been watery/ watery creamy type. Is it possible I still could of ovulated. I've been getting a few cramps here and there throughout the day. I will post the picture of my Premom app, any advice will be so so helpful

Hi @Alist12 thank you so much 😊 I hope you're doing okay after last month.

I've never used those tests/that app and we did only ttc for 2 cycles. My first cycle I never found a peak and my tests looked like yours, however I happened to go for a pelvic scan by chance around the same time I saw 'high' but not peak and it was confirmed that I did ovulate, so even though they say your test line should be as dark it is possible. On the cycle that we did conceive I had a much darker test line and did hit a peak. Sorry I'm not massively helpful but I'm also not that experienced. I'd say if possible just dtd every other day for the next week and see what happens x

Alist12 · 16/02/2021 09:29

@ELBlack I'm feeling much better now, my period came a day early after my miscarriage which was helpful but it's so hard to know when I actually ovulated which is tough. Any advice is helpful chickSmile

Mariex1989 · 16/02/2021 11:53

Morning ladies,

@Alist12 unfortunately I’m no help whatsoever with OPK’s, just wanted to say good luck and hoping for a sticky bean for you ❤️

@ELBlack I know bloody evaps/indents! Moral of the story - don’t test until you’re very late (in my case anyway) 😂🙈.

I’ve decided I’m going to stop TTC now. It’s getting too stressful and have enough with the wedding. I also don’t want to be worrying about fitting into a dress a few months after as it’s cutting it close!

Best of luck to everyone and ofc I’ll be popping in and checking how everyone’s getting on ☺️☺️ xxx

Foundmyfeet · 16/02/2021 18:57

@Mariex1989 bless you lovely. I agree giving yourself a break would be the best thing of it's causing much stress. Glad AF came when she did so you wouldn't have a bastard cycle like last month. And yes, would be lovely to be able to have some champers on your wedding day! Please don't be a stranger. I've enjoyed our chats! ❤️

Mariex1989 · 16/02/2021 22:08

@Foundmyfeet of course I will, won’t be going anywhere ☺️

Yeah it was just stressing me out thinking oooh I’ve got 3 months left to try, then 2 etc etc so just going to focus on weddings rather than babies right now.
Skeptical about going back on the pill though since I was on it for around 14 years which can’t be great! xx

ELBlack · 17/02/2021 07:30

@Mariex1989 aww I totally get that. I did find that wedding planning completely took over my life and the time went so quickly, so hoping the same for you. Weddings are such an exciting but stressful time so you don't want the added extra of trying to get into a dress with a newborn etc. All the best xx

Foundmyfeet · 19/02/2021 11:56

Hi ladies!

How is everyone doing?

@ELBlack how are you feeling? When is your next scan again?

AF is due tomorrow. I fell yucky and bloated so no doubt she'll appear for me 😔

ELBlack · 21/02/2021 09:17

Hi @Foundmyfeet I'm good thanks lovely, how are you? This week has been 1 of 2 halves, the first part is always difficult and then by Friday I start to feel a bit better.

Did AF come?

Foundmyfeet · 21/02/2021 19:41

@ELBlack - yep she arrived today. A day late but she's here nonetheless. Remember I thought that I didn't ovulate this month because I didn't have any of my regular indicators? Well, seems I was right. Lol! In all honesty, I felt really upset today when she arrived. 😢
I've decided to get some OPK's this month and try it that way again. Fingers crossed.

ELBlack · 21/02/2021 20:08

@Foundmyfeet aww so sorry!! Really hope you're okay. Definitely recommend OPK's x

Foundmyfeet · 21/02/2021 22:23

I fell pregnant in 2019 using the OPK's. It shocked the sh*t out of me when it worked! I didn't use them when I fell pregnant in 2020 but used them in December but didn't work. Let's see what happens.

Mariex1989 · 22/02/2021 12:55

@Foundmyfeet aww sorry to hear AF got you ☹️. Definitely try them if they’ve worked in the past, worth a shot!
I think when it’s time for us again I’ll be using them xx

Mariex1989 · 15/03/2021 07:42

Morning ladies @Foundmyfeet and @ELBlack how’re you getting on?
Mad story! I was lazy and hadn’t booked an appointment for my pill but thought “hasn’t happened in a year what difference would a couple weeks make”. Hadn’t been trying, only dtd twice and look!!!! I’m in absolute shock xx

ELBlack · 15/03/2021 07:58

Morning @Mariex1989 omg congratulations that's amazing!!! So happy for you!! Xx

I'm okay thanks, 12 weeks today and have my scan on Wednesday. I've been really nervous but last night had a really intense stretching feeling in my uterus, which felt like I had a brick in the bottom of my stomach. Apparently that's a good thing, so other than the nausea and fatigue, I'm feeling good and looking forward to Wednesday. I can't believe I'm actually 12 weeks now, it felt like a lifetime ago when I first found out!

ELBlack · 15/03/2021 08:02

@Mariex1989 I'm just so happy for you!! What an amazing surprise

Mariex1989 · 15/03/2021 09:31

@ELBlack that has flown! Bet it’s so nice to be able to talk openly about it now and know everything’s as should be 🙂 oh gosh, is that just from bump growing?
I’m still in utter shock. I don’t feel “pregnant” (can’t get used to that), I just had an urge to test, saw the line on the first response and didn’t believe it so took the digital thinking it wouldn’t show up yet. Haven’t even missed a period yet think I’m 11/12dpo xx

ELBlack · 15/03/2021 10:55

Well, it's still a secret until the scan. So after Wednesday it will feel like a weight is lifted.

Sooo exciting! I didn't feel pregnant until about 6 ish weeks. It's such an exciting and strange and scary time all at once. What did your fiance say? @Mariex1989

Mariex1989 · 15/03/2021 11:29

@ELBlack ahh yeah but Wednesday will come super quick!
It’s funny isn’t it, pinpointing all the “symptoms” when you didn’t conceive but when you do there’s actually nothing :/. My boobs feel a bit hard and tingly but that’s about it.
I haven’t told him yet. He’d already gone to work so got to wait until he’s home. I rang my mum in a panic so she knows before he does 😂 xx

ELBlack · 15/03/2021 11:32

@Mariex1989 yes!! So funny. The month before I was convinced I was pregnant, but the month I was I was convinced it was my period. In hindsight I actually had really bizarre symptoms like numb tingly legs and loads of gas 😂

Omg sooo exciting. I bet you cannot wait for him to come home!! X

Mariex1989 · 15/03/2021 15:49

@ELBlack I know, think he might be even more shocked than I was 😂.
Not sure if a lot is subconscious, I’ve started getting cramps now but I think my minds just telling my body I should be feeling something, god knows! Kind of want to get a bit of sickness to make it feel real cos at the moment it doesn’t at all xx

ELBlack · 15/03/2021 16:22

@Mariex1989 I had minor cramping on and off, especially in the early days. I think it's normal. I'm sure everything will go swimmingly, but I remember wanting to get past my missed period so bad and start feeling sick! I'm still grateful I did/do feel sick but the last 7 weeks have been pretty miserable in terms of feeling unwell 😂🤮🤒😴 xx

Mariex1989 · 15/03/2021 19:38

@ELBlack just told him, he’s over the moon. Couldn’t believe it and is super excited.

Aw bless you, all such lovely things we have to go through isn’t it! Hopefully you’ll be over the worst of it soon enough and can start enjoying it properly! xx
