Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

Okay that makes me feel a bit better. I might go this evening to get some digitals so the temptation isn’t there throughout the day (if AF hasn’t shown up in the meantime) xx

@ELBlack yeah I have a boots not too far away I can call in at. I’ll get either frer or digital, definitely not both 😂 which do you think at this point? X

@Mariex1989 so hard to say. If you get a digital then you know for sure if it says pregnant, but if it says not pregnant, I still really think you could be 🤰 I'd get both 😂 but totally understand why you don't want to! X

@ELBlack I’m going to get the digital I think, sick of scrutinising the lines 😂 and if it’s “not pregnant” tomorrow I’ll try in another few days if AF doesn’t come. I wish I’d never done that Asda one yesterday 😂😂😂 x

Just been to boots to get them before I chickened out. Wasn’t going to bother as my boobs kind of calmed down, but as I was driving low and behold I started getting the pains back 🙈.
I was speaking to the pharmacist and showed her my pics and she said she can see why I’m confused 😂. They didn’t have any FRER’s anyway so got the digital with weeks, apparently they are more sensitive than the normal “pregnant/not pregnant” digital’s x

@Mariex1989 yes I had digital with weeks. Can't wait for your fmu tomorrow 😂 lol

I've just done a workout for the first time this week (before pregnancy I used to workout 5 x a week religiously as well as walking the dog) and I'm feeling amazing! I really, really didn't want to do it 😂 I've felt so rough again today x

@ELBlack omg I wish I had your motivation! How do you feel? Like drained?
I used to do well going to the gym and swimming, but find it hard to motivate myself at home. I really think this is a contribution to my messed up cycles, sitting on my ass for the best part of a year.

How’re you feeling in general? Have your symptoms come back?

I just don’t know whether to do the test tomorrow, I’ll be so disheartened if it’s neg and not sure even if I am that’ll it’ll pick up on it 😩 can’t win!

@Mariex1989 yeah basically just drained and nauseous, bloated, headaches, it goes on 😂 bizarrely I actually felt more motivated working out at home, I think it was pure boredom with the lockdowns and also having more time on my hands as I didn't have to commute, but totally understand how motivation can be low when you're used to the gym or classes.

In general I feel tired and sick and my boobs hurt 😂 my skin feels dry, I feel bloated, I need to wee ALL the time, so yeah, symptoms back in full force. This week has been tough!

Up to you, but my frer was lighter than your tests and I got my bfp on a digital with weeks the following morning! I say do it 😉

@ELBlack bless you, bet it feels weirdly satisfying to have the symptoms though ☺️.

I had all the thoughts in the world to get my ass into gear during lockdown but it didn’t work 😂 making a conscious effort recently though, better late than never!

Ooooh go on then I’ll do it 😂 I’ll have a wine at the ready if I get an unwanted result (or maybe not at 8am, but it’s Friday so rules don’t apply right?) 😂

@ELBlack I’m disappointed but was sort of expecting it if I’m being honest with myself.

Boobs are still bloody killing me this morning so I’ll that as AF and just want her to come and go now.

Definitely have a wine! I had a massive gin 9dpo when I had my vv faint line that I thought was an indent 😅

@ELBlack don’t be daft it’s fine 😂 if I was looking at them tests from someone else I’d be saying the same. I put them on another thread as well and everyone was saying they could definitely see it. Yeah I’ll wait the weekend out and if no AF I’ll retest.

Not really no, we don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day, but we’re having our date night tonight so will act like it’s for Valentine’s 😂 are you? x

@Mariex1989 I'm not giving up hope yet!! Did you dip the digital long enough? They need to be in for much longer than regular ones.

I'm going to tell my 2 best friends from uni, but that's it. Both sets of parents and siblings know now too.

We don't usually but we are this year! It's our first one as a married couple. We aren't doing anything crazy, just pancakes for breakfast, nice long dog walk and dinner with some alcohol free bubbles 😁 x

I’ve only gone and taken apart my digital (I know I know I really shouldn’t) and now of course I’m over analysing and googling it 😂😂 found an interesting YouTube video of someone who was absolutely not pregnant and she got 2 lines on the bottom strip and none on the hcg detection strip, mine has 3 but I think they all probably do x

@Mariex1989 No more FRER's for you! Digital only!! These bloody indent lines!!! Sod it...have the wine. It's Sod's law that after a booze up you find yourself pregnant and then you worry about having had the booze up! Lol!

DH is coming back tonight. Was supposed to come back yesterday but hadn't finished the job so stayed an extra night. DD is at my sister's house for the night..she's in our bubble so it's all safe. This means DH and I will be having an early valentines dinner and some good lovin' baby!! Lol! Might crack open some Shiraz!

@Mariex1989 oh so you didn't take an early detection test?! I reckon the hcg threshold is quite high in normal digital ones then!! I really want you to get an early one 😂😂
