Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle

Hi everyone,

This is our first cycle TTC, and whilst I promised myself I would stay calm and collected, truthfully I am the total opposite. I can't switch off from thinking about it.

It's taken my OH a while to come to terms with trying to start a family. Whilst we have been together since we were 15 (now 27) he always wanted to earn more, to have a bigger house etc but he's come to finally realise that it's never the right time and we just have to go for it. I was so so pleased he was finally ready but promised we would keep it relaxed and calm. If it happens, it happens,

But working from home and not having anything else to do, I just can't switch off from my mind wondering 🙈 wondered if there was anyone else in the same boat who just wants to chat really?

I'm due AF on Christmas Day so it would be such a Christmas miracle if she doesn't come.

@Alist12 oh no 😢 I’m so sorry to see this! I hope you’re as okay as you can be and taking care of yourself 💕

Alist12 · 05/01/2021 18:20

@Mariex1989 I am trying my best, my fiancé is trying his best to keep me same as well as himself

Foundmyfeet · 05/01/2021 18:59

@Alist12 I'm so sorry to read this. It's devastating, I know. Just take things easy for a little while you are processing this very sad news. Be kind to yourself. ❤️ We are all here to support you.

ELBlack · 05/01/2021 19:54

@Alist12 I'm so so sorry. Sending you so much love xxx

Alist12 · 05/01/2021 21:50

@Foundmyfeet @ELBlack I'm resting up just in so much agony, I've took paracetamol like the nurses told and they are doing nothing. Do any of you ladies know any other pain relief I can take that isn't a inflammatory one?

Ebhc · 05/01/2021 22:31

Oh @Alist12 I'm so sorry. Xxxx

Foundmyfeet · 05/01/2021 23:23

@Alist12 cocodamol I believe are non-inflammatory. You can get 8mg of cocodamol over the counter. Any higher strength and it's on prescription only. I believe tramadol and codydramol are painkillers that are not anti-inflammatory also but think they are prescription only.
Sending hugs x

Alist12 · 06/01/2021 13:09

@Foundmyfeet thankyou will bring it up to my doctor.
Thankyou all

Foundmyfeet · 06/01/2021 19:33

You're welcome @Alist12

So ladies, I'm on day 12 of my cycle. Last month I ovulated on day 13. I've thrown the OPK's out the window this month but I'm defo ovulating or about to anyway. Was going to do some BD-ing tonight but DD has just announced she's got a pile of schoolwork to get through and reckons she'll be up until midnight! So it'll either be good old "wham-bam-thank you ma'am" or "quiet, the kids are still awake, distracted parent nookie" or "6am yucky morning breath nookie." Lol!
I've started my healthy eating and have lost 5lbs already. I've got another 2.5 stones to go and I'm wondering if I should hold off TTC until the weight is off? Perhaps My MC's were because of my weight? I want to give my next BFP a good chance.

Mariex1989 · 07/01/2021 09:46

@Foundmyfeet hahaha that made me laugh. Hope you managed some successful BDing regardless of the DD distraction.

Wow that’s great, well done!!! I think I found your lost 5lbs on my ass 🙈😂. You need to share your secrets to this!

I’ve been having this debate with myself the last couple days as well. With lockdown and having nothing better to do, I’ve been cracking on with wedding planning and thinking maybe it’s best to hold off until after and be at a weight I’m happy with (if said wedding diet goes to plan). But then I do a 360 and think no. Not putting pressure on myself this month though as the planning pressure is enough 🙈 xx

ELBlack · 07/01/2021 10:23

@Foundmyfeet well done on your 5lb loss! Totally up to you re weight loss. A Dr will always tell you to lose weight if you're overweight and trying to get pregnant (not to say you are overweight BTW!!!) but I think only you know. As long as you make healthy choices, drink lots of water and exercise regularly I think that's a healthy environment to grow your precious bundle!!

@Mariex1989 omg I do not envy you. I remember how stressful wedmin was, and our wedding got cancelled last year because of covid, so we replanned it for this year, but then decided we just wanted to do it, which meant we had 4 weeks to plan the whole thing again, get my dress altered, find a new venue etc because we had to change venues from last year as the business shut down, and our new venue was way too big for the 30 people restrictions etc. Safe to say the weight absolutely dropped off me 😂 when's your wedding if you don't mind me asking?

Mariex1989 · 07/01/2021 10:49

@ELBlack oh my days! I’ve felt really bad for all the brides that were affected by all this. Especially with all the planning and stress, but be awful!
But massive congratulations on your wedding! I’m sure it was beautiful even with the minimum numbers.
Mine isn’t until July next year, but I panic if things aren’t organised and with lockdown I’ve not had anything else to do. Glad I started though as I’ve had some parts come back with unavailability due to all the postponed weddings. Was supposed to have my first dress appointment early feb but that’s been postponed, annoying as that’s the bit I was looking forward to the most. But never mind still plenty time 😊

Mariex1989 · 07/01/2021 10:50

^must be awful

Tillybabs · 07/01/2021 11:15

@Alist12 I’m so sorry to hear your sad news. Xx

ELBlack · 07/01/2021 13:54

@Mariex1989 thank you 😊 yeah, that's the thing with it. In normal circumstances 18 months is loads of time, but so many people postponed its going to be a very busy year next year and I think late summer and autumn this year! Good luck with it all x

Foundmyfeet · 09/01/2021 10:14

@Mariex1989 a wedding! Oh how lovely! DH and I were married within 7 months of getting engaged. Funnily enough, I didn't get stressed out with the organising which is very out of character for me. And it was a beautiful wedding; small and intimate. But I understand that all the postponed weddings of 2020 add stress to the planning now.
@ELBlack my DH calls me a camel because I've been drinking gallons of water this past week. I've now lost 7lbs. Whoop, whoop!

So DH and I have been BD-ing. Managed to get a few "sessions" in over the last 3 days. So fingers crossed that a healthy egg popped out and some good sperm found it! Had pains in my lower left side so reckon I ovulated from the left ovary. Normally I feel it only in the right side. Maybe it's lucky left this month!

ELBlack · 09/01/2021 11:06

@Foundmyfeet water is key! Well done you. 7lbs is amazing!!

I also ovulated from the left this month. I only know that because of the scan I had last month to see what was going on in there and they said I ovulated from the right 🤷‍♀️ fingers crossed and baby dust for you!

I peaked last Sunday so I'm either 5dpo or 6dpo depending on how you look at it, and I've been dreaming every single night since about 2dpo. I don't know whether I'd call them 'vivid' or not, but I don't usually dream, and if I do, I don't remember it. Itching to take a test now, but going to wait until next Saturday I think, as that will be 12dpo. Fingers crossed for us all this month 🤞

Foundmyfeet · 11/01/2021 10:16

Morning ladies! How is everyone today? I hope you all had a good weekend.

I had a sneaky glass of red wine on Saturday night and it was delicious! I was disciplined though and stuck to just the one. My DH was tucking into all kinds of goodies and although my mouth was watering, I didn't relent. So now I'm 8lbs down and 4dpo. Feeling good albeit a little knackered.
@ELBlack - hopefully it's lucky left for you this month too! Apologies if you have already mentioned this, but how did you get in for a scan? Was it all good? Fingers crossed that you get a juicy BFP this Saturday so sending a ton of baby dust to you too!

ELBlack · 11/01/2021 11:27

@Foundmyfeet well done you! That's excellent!

We paid for it privately, just because I wasn't sure what was going on and I'm a control freak so I wanted to know 😂 apparently I have a 'beautiful uterus' though lol.

I'm really hoping that we get a BFP but I do feel like AF is going to come early. No cramps or anything, just a feeling that something is going on in there lol, and I think I'd be so shocked if it was a baby that I almost don't believe it could happen so quickly!! This is our 2nd month ttc although last month I never caught my peak and hadn't even had a period since having my coil removed, so I suppose it could count as first. My mum got pregnant with me and my sister 1st month ttc so I'm hoping that if that's something you can inherit, I've got it 😂😂

ELBlack · 11/01/2021 14:41

Hi all, I know this is probably a bit desperate 😂🤦‍♀️ but doss anyone know if your resting heart rate can dip around implantation? I stopped temping last month as it was affecting my sleep, but just seen this on my weekly garmin report. The dip was on the 7th which would have only made me 4dpo which I know is highly unlikely to be implantation dip, but that day my rhr was 52, which seems strange....

Anyone else on the TWW and hoping for a Christmas miracle
ELBlack · 11/01/2021 14:42

Does*

Foundmyfeet · 11/01/2021 15:47

@ELBlack hoping that the hereditary "fertile Myrtle" gene exists and it's been passed down to you! Lol! The beautiful uterus made me laugh out loud!

I don't mean to pee on your fireworks or anyone else's for that matter, but I recently spoke with someone who had her first child at 45 via IVF and she said that she was diagnosed with a uterine septum after many rounds of IVF. It covered the majority of her uterus and was not and cannot be picked up on a ultrasound. Apparently, the only way to get an accurate picture of the uterus is to have an Aquascan. Once this was discovered and fixed, she conceived and carried her child to 38 weeks after more than 10 failed IVF's and 2 MC's. I too had an ultrasound a couple of years ago thinking it covered all bases. I have made researching this Aquascan stuff one of my task for this week.
I have no idea about temping and charting...I did it for a while but was losing the will to live. But I asked Dr. Google for you and she said, "yes it does." Fingers and toes crossed!

ELBlack · 11/01/2021 17:16

@Foundmyfeet haha me too! I thought it was a really funny thing for her to say.

Ah that's interesting! I'd never heard of that, and tbh although the scan did give me peace of mind, I then started worrying about my DH's sperm 😂 not that there is anything wrong with it, but I'm such a worrier I just didn't want to take the scan as gospel that everything would be OK. This ttc thing is exhausting isn't it! So many different things to worry about 😂🙄

Anyways, going to try and hold off testing as long as poss and STOP symptom spotting!

Mariex1989 · 11/01/2021 22:41

@ELBlack I’m not clued up on the temping and patterns so wouldn’t know unfortunately.
I’ve seen people post about the dips though so fingers crossed it’s a good sign 😊. How’re you feeling?

@Foundmyfeet that’s amazing well done you! Especially well done on refraining from the snacks, you’re stronger than I am! Snacking and wine is definitely my weak point.
Wow 7 months! We’ve been engaged almost that long and only just started planning. It’s going quite smoothly surprisingly so far 🤞🏻 (Famous last words) xx

ELBlack · 12/01/2021 06:51

@Mariex1989 I think the dip must be a fluke because I'm sure there's no way it's even possible to implant that early. Clutching at straws 😂😅 I'm feeling fine thanks. No glaringly major symptoms just a few bits which could be related to AF or just general life so really trying not to look into them so much.

How are you?
