Minster2012 · 11/12/2020 23:05

Well ladies....buckle up cos this bus is often more like a 🏎🤣

We are TTC in often weird and wonderful ways and that’s the way we like it...long as we are there for each other, which some of us have been for longer than we care to remember 😜. So whether your glass of half empty, half full, a pint glass, a shot glass (a tic tac container?), a mug of tea, this is where we come to refill it...🥰 Mumsnet is our happy place 🥰

Don’t forget...
⁃ No judgement
⁃ A few of us like a sex toy a few don’t, there may be sex toys discussed! 🤪a few of our fellas have enjoyed this aspect
⁃ Support each other, ranting is allowed, saying you are down is encouraged & celebrating our happy days too 😊
⁃ If you have a pet, it’s welcome aboard
⁃ mandatory picture of your 🎄tree /Xmas decorations / Xmas jumper or similar
⁃ Ditto Wreath - extra points awarded if wreath is homemade 🥰
⁃ We may stray away from TTC a fair bit
⁃ NOTHING IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION

Story so far...

June 24 BFPs
July 11 BFPs
August 18 BFPs
Sep 4 BFPs
Oct 7 BFPs
Nov 7 BFPs

7 BFPs in Dec so far ....
Sneaky @lucyrp getting in there at the end 😍

How many more 🤔
Can we birth the messiah???
Or will we get thrown off Mumsnet??

@katekam10 I see a line, how many dpo are you?

katekam10 · 16/12/2020 13:35

@Franklydear I think I am 11DPO.
It has been hard to tell because I'm not regular but that is what the flo app is telling me.
I don't know if I am being crazy or it's my account brain kicking in but I got a ruler out and the line isn't symmetrical to the control line. Confused

Vil10 · 16/12/2020 13:38

@2020mission hmm how strange!!

@Franklydear Thankyou!! I am really looking forward to 2 weeks off!! Ohh lovely! What are you planning?

Minster2012 · 16/12/2020 13:43

@2020mission I don't think I've ever had heart palpitations, not that I'm aware of anyway. 🤔is it a symptom? Although like @Vil10 my DH nearly had a heart attack but def had heart palpitations when he had a red bull or monster the only time (omg triple vodka red bulls & dancing on tables remember that?!!)

7 weeks @Skip86 is your DH away??? And noooo for AF! What? I shall add that AIBU to the list for later on!

@Juno231 whatttt??? I'm not sure what to say to that

@Franklydear yeah it's kinda not that simple. We think we've been very fair this year & we've been taken for granted a bit, & DH has been at the rough end of what I think are ungrateful s*ds.

We only furloughed who we had to, but those we did we then topped up their pay. We have paid everyone who has been off, isolating themselves or looking after others.

Every year we buy each staff member their choice of a bottle of something (spirit) for Xmas & do an Xmas party. Obviously can't do that, & everyone has worked hard & it's been so tough so we decided to give everyone a £500 instead.

These 2 weeks are our business weeks bringing gear back into the yard

We've found out that one staff member who has "isolated with his child" twice. Was lying.
Another once.

We've found out that 3 staff members have taken their kids out of school (non isolating) their choice & 2 of those had an argument with DH yesterday saying "they still deserved their bottle of vodka" & told him to fuck off when DH said he won't pay him for being off. DH wants to take the bonus back from them, I'm now looking into the legal implications. We won't take the bonus back but we won't pay them. But it makes me wonder if we should keep bothering.

It's a f ing kick in the teeth for us where we try to be fair and get shit on. DH has had less than 10 days off this year (thats week days, he's also worked Saturdays and gone back in the afternoon of my MMC as I was left at home on my own bleeding) but they don't know that. They've all been offered to take their holiday or have it paid out.

Rant over.

Sorry I will have missed loads of posts when writing this as I've taken ages.

@Minster2012 that's a lovely turn of phrase for them 🥰
I could get such a nice house up north, don't tempt me 😂
@Sausage1990 ah I really hope it's the end for you too darlin, you've been through so much! Hugs 🫂
@Justanothercyster well you learn something new everyday as they say!! 😆
@Skip86 thanks for the link, will have a read in a sec! Hope your son is behaving now!
@katekam10 the line is defo there! How early are you?

Minster2012 · 16/12/2020 13:51

@katekam10 I'll pass this over to ladies who have had lines before...I never have lines in the right places 🤪😝😜 I'd say very promising tho. Another short bus ride!!

Skip86 · 16/12/2020 13:59

Hahaha noo to be clear that is not my AIBU!! 😂

Sorry I'm not super chatty today, hope everyone is as well as can be, in the age of 2020 xx

That's me done for the day. TO BED! 👋🏼

Vil10 · 16/12/2020 14:02

@Minster2012 ahhhh those were the days! Also your situation sound so stressful and some of your employees sound awful!! I've seen the stress my mums experienced from running a business for so long and it must be awful!' Feel for you both x

@katekam10 definitely looks positive to me

Skip86 · 16/12/2020 14:04

Oh and then I missed your post @Minster2012 ! Holy hell, those employees are just taking the piss. I'd absolutely be enraged at that and looking into legal implications. I know our laws are likely very different, but I'm assuming it's a fireable offence? Yes I realise the year has been hard for all, but that's blatant fraud really.

I'm sorry I don't have the brain power for better response, but gee I'm sorry that's happening. Completely rubbish xx

paintfairy · 16/12/2020 14:11

@2020mission I think I get them. Does it feel like its suddenly beating harder (like it feels it'll best out of your chest) and faster for like 5 seconds or something, then goes away? That's what I get. It comes from nowhere and its usually when I'm sitting chilled, as opposed to being active.

I've no idea why, I've never had it looked at. It doesn't happen that often but it's happened for years so I assume if it was bad I'd be dead? 🤣 I've never thought to mention it to the GP.

katekam10 · 16/12/2020 14:19

@Minster2012 I’m sorry you are going through that with your business. I don’t fully understand as I don’t own my own business but my OH, dad and a few friends do so I see what they go through. Business owners often get the tough end of the stick so remind yourselves your doing an amazing job and the fact you have kept people in jobs this year is amazing and something to be proud off. Those that have taken advantage of you, mentally mark their cards but don’t stop rewarding the staff that have remained loyal because it can lead to negative working environments. Easier said than done when people have taken advantage of you though.

That said I don’t think many reasonable and understanding people in the workforce would except a £500 with the state of this year.

katekam10 · 16/12/2020 14:20

And thank you ladies my period would be due either sat or sun.

katekam10 · 16/12/2020 14:21

So I think I will hold off and take a digital one then

Minster2012 · 16/12/2020 14:27

I def think there's a line there @katekam10 despite being early it looks very good for you as it's a pink dye test they are usually very reliable 🤞🏻I'm not sure what you mean about the £500 state sorry my typing prob wasn't the best, we gave every employee a £500 bonus to say thank you for working hard during a tough year & cos we couldn't have the Xmas party (but that's just a meal & drinks) but didn't give them their bottle i mean most ppl would rather have cash right?! That's most ppls rent or mortgage, it's the paying for the isolating and what do we do to stop ppl doing it going forwards. We are going to have to demand the school letters before paying ppl I guess.

Minster2012 · 16/12/2020 14:29

Oh and my consenting forms for IVF have come through digitally so need to do those which is screwing my head
"If you die Do you consent to the use of your embryos /sperm for medical research?" Eerr
Thank god we won't have any left 🤔

OP posts:
BlondePotter · 16/12/2020 14:36

@katekam10 definitely a line there and in the place you would expect to see it! Congratulations 😊

@Minster2012 ugh sounds a nightmare! Yes you would think £500 would be better than a bottle of drink 🤷🏼‍♀️ they can use it to buy several bottles of drink if they desire
Must be so tough though when you don't know whether to trust people and they take the piss

Franklydear · 16/12/2020 14:38

@Minster2012 omg! Lying is so not on, and topping up the furlough is more than fair, and a £500 bonus to boot, and they still complain, they had it too good for too long, providing proof of isolation is standard and expected, getting paid cos I want to take my kid of school, not, that would get me fired, sure you can do something about that

katekam10 · 16/12/2020 14:44

@Minster2012 thank you and Sorry I just meant its been such a financially difficult year to get a £500 is amazing and very few people will get that. I don't think anyone reasonable would have expected to get that. If you wrote them a letter to confirm the bonus it might be difficult to reclaim otherwise I think you can just deduct the difference without any issues in the next payroll. Generally if the bonus is at your discretion it can be reclaimed but I'm not sure the rules if there is a formal signed letter.

Minster2012 · 16/12/2020 15:00

Yeah, thanks guys, it's just so frustrating. We try accommodate & be fair on most things cos we can cos we are (relatively) small & hey I'm HR effectively (LOL) that's the beauty about working in a family business but it's annoying when thrown back at you.

@katekam10 yes you are right we sent an email out to all to say thanks & about party etc & bonus so no we wouldn't do that really anyway, but I am going to have to do an email reiterating we need the Covid isolation proof or it's just SSP. The annoying thing is a lot will still do that. Urgh.

@BlondePotter buy ALLLLL the wine 😂we were hoping it was a nice Xmas treat. Talking of which. I've just found this in my local charity shop. I'm sending to my best mates kids. Thought of you.

2020mission · 16/12/2020 15:10

@katekam10 that FRER is looking good! 😃

@Minster2012 @paintfairy Yeah for me it's a weird fluttering feeling in the chest where you momentarily can feel the beat rate change between fast and slow I think it's worse when it slows as you panic and think it's going to stop. I used to get it on rare occasions when I was a teenager but haven't had it happen for ages. I wish it was an pregnancy symptom but I'm 99.9% sure I'm out as I've been spotting since Saturday and feel like AF is about to arrive any moment 😅 I do think hormones as well as some medication and caffeine can cause it.

Franklydear · 16/12/2020 15:18

@Minster2012 my company would do no pay, not even ssp, so dhs, so that might be a deterrent to mick takers, definitely ask for proof, I am all for helping in genuine situations, especially when there’s no solution but jeez, the company still standing after this year, without losing jobs or cutting pay, I’d say is pretty good

paintfairy · 16/12/2020 15:27

@Minster2012 Jesus. People! How ungrateful.

@2020mission I'm not sure mine goes slower than normal, only faster. But I do momentarily worry when it does it. But because its always done it, i don't worry too much.

kalidasa · 16/12/2020 15:38

@katekam10 that looks definitely positive, it's not even very faint compared to some you see. I think it's only the blue dye tests that have a reputation for "evaporation lines" (is that right? I've only ever used pink ones anyway). If Saturday is 14DPO then today is 11DPO which is about right for a faint-but-visible line if you implant at the normal sort of time (8-9DPO ish). Congratulations!

Sorry about your Christmas employee headache @Minster2012 -- sounds like you're trying to do the right thing.

kalidasa · 16/12/2020 15:39

Oh yes the palpitations thing -- I only get them if I drink too much coffee!

2020mission · 16/12/2020 15:43

Speaking of bonuses... we got a £200 company gift card (so half the money will go back into the company). Not quite matching our usual 1k+ cash bonus at Christmas 😢 but not a surprise since we all had a 10% pay cut, there were redundancies and we were on furlough for a couple of months in the summer too. Definitely a tough year! @Minster2012 has done it better
