Welcome to the longest running funniest bus ride in history! Or so we like to think anyway...

Where TTC is sometimes the smallest part of the conversation and we like to keep things fun & spicy cos let's face it, TTC can be as hard as a very useful phallus shaped wooden kitchen implement. 🍆

TTC should be fun. And fortunately we have each other to make each other laugh, giggle & more often than not, spit out our tea or wine

We’ve actually been around each other since March but various of us running this bus since June & not got sick of each other yet ❤️🥰

How we roll on this bus...
⁃ No judgement & each to their own on your TTC journey
⁃ Sense of humour DEFINITELY required
⁃ A few of us like a sex toy a few don’t, there may be sex toys discussed! 🤪a few of our fellas have enjoyed this aspect
⁃ Support each other, ranting is allowed, saying you are down is encouraged & celebrating our happy days too 😘
⁃ We have fun
⁃ If you have a pet, it’s welcome aboard
⁃ NOTHING IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION

@Vil10 currently holds the 👑for filthiest/most embarrassing story, can you beat her???

Story so far...

June 24 BFPs
July 11 BFPs
August 18 BFPs
Sep 4 BFPs
Oct 7 BFPs

So far
6 BFPs in November

How many more 🤔🚌🥰

My life story is far too long for mumsnet I started typing and it was so long and very deep so I had to clear it 😂 sorry girls! Hope everyone is well CD23 and absolutely nothing happening😴

MimiRai · 26/11/2020 07:28

Just managed to catch up on all the conversations, this bus is already half way!

@Minster2012 thank you for sharing your story. You truly are remarkable and I wish you all the luck in the world for your next round of IVF. Do you know when it will start?

p.s. love the hair colours!

@Sausage1990 that sounds like you have had a very tough year. I hope af arrives soon so that you can start trying again.

@Franklydear I am so pleased to hear the bleeding has died down and you didn't get any cramps. I was getting very worried reading your posts.

@LauraT94 best of luck for your first TTC, getting pregnant first time does happen.

lucyrp · 26/11/2020 07:32

Also forgot to @notyetamumbuttrying loved your dream yesterday 🤣🤣

MimiRai · 26/11/2020 07:34

I shared my story a few weeks ago when I joined but here is a bit more. I am 37, after 2 years of TTC we did IVF, first round only had one embryo but lost it at 9 weeks. We did another round of IVF where we had 3 embryos.
we used 2 and were lucky enough to have twins. They are now 3. In August we used the final embryo but it didn't stick, so are trying now to see if we can manage it naturally. I have PCOS and hyperthyroidism but have a normal BMI.
Didn't want to mention the twins earlier since I wasn't sure who was on the bus and didn't want to seem greedy trying for a third!
I remember the pain of the journey when you struggle to have one.

MayDay27 · 26/11/2020 07:41

I'm 31 the DH is 33 TTC our first. We've been together 10+ years and got married this year. We're pretty sorted with jobs and lockdown has allowed us to get some of the jobs on the house done so ready to try for a family! We're waiting until next month to avoid an August baby, I know that a) it would be very unlikely to be successful first time and b) that being August born really makes no difference! But for the sake of waiting one month we are just holding out. It does mean that the two weeks over Xmas is our next fertile window to try for, we will both be off work so that's good but we will also hopefully be seeing family and doing the usual Xmas celebrating so I'm not sure how successful we will be at DTD! It's lovely to be on here and read about other people's journeys and a place to ask questions! We haven't told any family/friends our plans as I think most people keep it pretty private to start with

Franklydear · 26/11/2020 07:42

Life story : 43, married 20+ years, 1 ds 10 yo autistic, just got my bfp after a year off the pill, so 5 wks today, just had a bit of bleeding, so completely freak out, but all seems well

notyetamumbuttrying · 26/11/2020 07:51

@lucyrp yay you saw it 😂 glad you enjoyed 😉 no dreams of you this time though lol! Had a shit nights sleep after the giddiness of yesterday's news so need to get going with my day. If we're still doing life stories later will post mine then. Happy Thursday everyone 😘

AHobbyaweek · 26/11/2020 07:53

Feel I may have written way more than needed!

I must admit though it is really helpful to write it down sometimes. I'm very excited to TTC but I always have the anxiety of telling work and how they would react which is silly really.

lucyrp · 26/11/2020 08:17

@MimiRai omg twins ! Girls or boys ? 🥰 don't be silly you're not greedy at all! I'm sure there are people on this bus trying for number 4 or 5 too!

Minster2012 · 26/11/2020 08:34

Morning lovelies!

Hello & welcome @LB20xx & wow another lady with lots of restraint (oh dear @Joanna1009 😂😉) so you'll be testing at the weekend then! All the luck in the world 🤞🏻

Wait @Clairey844 are you saying you did 20,000 steps in between 7.45 and 10.00??? 😱& @Newbie0818 honestly you guys have the patience of saints, also gonna put @LauraT94 in there too I thank my lucky stars my DS was a toddler during lockdown and just learnt through playing cos honestly 🤯😱😳

@AHobbyaweek you so need to lead a pound or polish then, that sounds intriguing! But now to you wow & you are totally right about spoils anxiety & I can totally understand DH being worried but all births are different & work well tough for them sending hugs 🥰

@Sausage1990 can't believe your body still hasn't stopped messing you around 😥we are all here for you gorgeous squeezing you REALLY tight 😘🥰and you can plan Christmas seeing your family or how about going away??

And @LauraT94 it can def still happen for you on the early cycles don't let us OGs put you off!! 🥰@blodyn91 is testament to that (was it 4 cycles lovely?) and her wedding was cancelled too she's now carrying a boy!

@MimiRai im waiting on my AF now to "start" again but it's 12 days late after our last AF after the meds from BFN one so I will have to take meds to bring it on then we start on CD21 of that cycle but that means going over Xmas again so the embryo transfer will be beginning of feb same as last year 😞but silver linings I can drink (sensibly) over Xmas & new year as not in TWW! 🍸🥂🍾. OMG you have twins!! That's amazing and lovely! So pleased you feel able to share now! Not greedy darling 😘

@MayDay27 an Xmas FW tbh for us that would be ideal but maybe not if you are stuffed 🍗🥔🦃🐓you sound like you are in the ideal place & most of us haven't said anything IRL that's why we vent here 😂

@Franklydear how are you today?

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 26/11/2020 08:40

Oh and it's a dog toy

Obviously you filthy bitches

OP posts:
LB20xx · 26/11/2020 08:44

@Minster2012 I've been trying so hard not to test, as last month I was testing before AF was due, case of first month excitement and an INSANE craving for Nik Naks crisps out the blue, so I told myself no more testing after that and made sure I didn't buy any more to just keep in the house 😂. We were in Tesco at the weekend and my fiancé was trying to get me to buy tests! He's worse than me I tell ya haha!
I'll post a life story at some point today, introduce myself a little more! 💞

Kirky658 · 26/11/2020 08:49

@newbie0818 @franklydear I'm absolutely disgusted at the lack of a pay rise for teachers next year. Watching my DH try and teach virtually from home for 5 months and he worked so hard, boils my blood it really does

So @minster2012 love the life story! Here's a little about me.

  • I'm 26, DH is 29. We met when I was 15. He moved into the area when I was 20 and we got together then and have been inseparable ever since!
  • I'd had problems with my periods since I started when I was 12 and had various investigations, was put onto literally 15 different contraceptive pills over the course of 6 years. We then realised that an oestrogen based pill made my pains and symptoms a billion times worse
  • in 2018 I finally got surgery privately under the NHS, was diagnosed with endometriosis and it was excised and I had the mirena coil to help with the symptoms and to ease the progression
  • relief from symptoms for 4 months then it all came back
  • spent 18 months chasing a second surgery, this time under one of 20 specialist centres in the UK for endometriosis, got messed about by the NHS, cancelled dates several times and a complaint to my local CCG ensued
  • whilst all this was going on we got married in August 2019 and our honeymoon was marred by me being constantly in pain and bleeding after sex
  • finally got my second surgery in June this year, was advised all tubes, ovaries etc clear. A large cyst was removed from my right ovary and significant endometriosis was removed. The consultant advised I should have 'a good few years respite' from any issues and I should be able to conceive straight away
  • now here we are, having waited since 2018 to conceive! Month 4 cycle 5.
  • never seem to get to a point each month where I'm even able to test as AF is arriving fairly regularly

So yeah that's me! 😄

Joanna1009 · 26/11/2020 09:06

Ok here's mine
I'm 38 and TTC number 5 (which I never thought I'd be doing). Had a DD at 21, DS at 26, DD at 30 (born at 32 weeks which was very touch and go but she's great now)....then when I fell pregnant with my DS at 34 my now-ex-husband decided to up and leave with one of his mistresses. I thought that was my lot then. But lo and behold I'm now settled and engaged, and my OH doesn't have any children of his own so we decided to give this a go.

And @Minster2012 you're right, I have the restraint power offer tissue paper right now 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Florence13 · 26/11/2020 09:09

Loving all the stories, so here is mine:

  • I am 27 and my husband is 28 we got married just over 18 months ago.
  • We are TTC numero 1
  • I came off the pill Sept 19 and started TTC in January and not had a hint of anything so far.
  • Also moved house and working on it day and night due to it being a complete Reno project.

@Franklydear how are you doing today?

@Sausage1990 glad it sounds like your body is settling down hun

Franklydear · 26/11/2020 09:15

Morning, on my way to work, feel much better, had a good talk with DH yesterday, we concluded that a loss would have been way more blood and pain, symptoms still undoubtedly here too, but I'll test again next week just to put my mind at rest, Meghan news made me cry too so that didn't help, but all should be good, I had this with D's but before I knew I was pregnant so I didn't worry...

kalidasa · 26/11/2020 09:20

OK, I'm 40 (agh! still can't believe I'm 40), I'm a university lecturer, I have DS1 who'll be 8 on Saturday and DS2 who's 5 (6 in January). DH is 42 and we've been together for 9 years. DS1 came along super fast when we hardly knew each other to be honest (!!), and we got married on his 3-month birthday in Feb 2013. I really thought I'd feel done after 2 but the minute DS2 popped out I longed for another. It's been a long road because DH really really didn't and I had absolutely terrible pregnancies - in and out of hospital from week 5 with totally unstoppable hyperemesis, couldn't get out of bed at all for months, and then in a wheelchair in the second half as my pelvis failed -- so it's a pretty huge undertaking. I would have loved to have had a third sooner but to be honest never thought DH would agree at all and I am so happy and grateful that he has. He is still pretty nervous / reluctant but he's on board and this is my first cycle after having my coil out a fortnight ago. Obviously I am pretty old now though so who knows.

@AHobbyaweek I'm really shocked that women at work made you feel like that about being pregnant, that is really a disgrace. And I'm so sorry about your Mum too! I am also a bit nervous about telling work if I get pregnant, just because my pregnancies are so awful that realistically it means I can hardly work at all during them so I'm effectively off for ages. I have moved jobs since DS2 though, and I'm hoping that the fact that so much work is from home now anyway will help a bit -- I might be able to keep going a week or two longer at the start and be able to work remotely in the second half of pregnancy even if I'm really disabled.

I'm the one who hasn't bothered to buy any pregnancy tests because in my previous pregnancies I was so ill by 14 DPO that they were totally redundant!

paintfairy · 26/11/2020 09:24

Wow. So many stories!
Mine isn't interesting. I met my DH when I was old. Hence we are old. 🤣 I'm almost 38. TTC isn't really working, It's been a year now.

@Newbie0818 it really annoys me they never appreciate the people who have jobs that matter. It's always the same though. Very frustrating. They'll all get fed up and leave and then where will things be?

Does anyone get really bad trapped wind in their LP? Last night I just couldn't sleep because of it. I sometimes do get it and it always falls in my LP. I had hot hands and feet just to top it off. 🙄

LauraT94 · 26/11/2020 09:51

Before I forget... My homemade wreath with cable ties! For the baubles you literally just remove the thread they've already got and loop a tiny cable tie in!

MimiRai · 26/11/2020 10:07

Thanks for the lovely comments I have both a DD and a DS so very lucky indeed.

Great to hear everyone's stories, there is such a range of ages and experiences.

@LauraT94 love the wreath, it amazing. Everyone is so creative not only can everyone knit and crochet, we have wreath makers too!

Vil10 · 26/11/2020 10:07

@notyetamumbuttrying I hope so too!!

@Smushty14 I'll try and find my Christmas pictures from last year!x

@AHobbyaweek wow you've been through a lot, so strong!! And 6 stone loss!! Amazing!!

@Joanna1009 aww you have 2 of each!! How lovely!! Also, ex husband sounds like an arsehole

Okay my story, not very long and very boring compared but...

  • I'm 23, OH is 30, been together for just short of 3 years but I feel like I've known him forever he's 100% my soul mate (and for those who remember, we're each other's 3rd rule)
-TTC DC no.1 for both of us
  • Actively trying since may so 7 months but only 6 cycles as i had tablets to delay my period for a holiday in august, came off the pill the beginning of feb
  • had a back operation in February, and currently going for assessments again because it didn't work, so hopefully that won't affect TTC
  • I co own a childcare business with my mum, since this year, but have worked for year for 6 years
  • OH has a good job outdoors that he loves
  • Lastly we have 2 amazing dogs, 1 English springer spaniel and 1 welsh springer, they're literally our lives, OH takes them to work everyday, they have the best lives!! See attached pics of dogs
