Welcome to the longest running funniest bus ride in history! Or so we like to think anyway...

Where TTC is sometimes the smallest part of the conversation and we like to keep things fun & spicy cos let's face it, TTC can be as hard as a very useful phallus shaped wooden kitchen implement. 🍆

TTC should be fun. And fortunately we have each other to make each other laugh, giggle & more often than not, spit out our tea or wine

We’ve actually been around each other since March but various of us running this bus since June & not got sick of each other yet ❤️🥰

How we roll on this bus...
⁃ No judgement & each to their own on your TTC journey
⁃ Sense of humour DEFINITELY required
⁃ A few of us like a sex toy a few don’t, there may be sex toys discussed! 🤪a few of our fellas have enjoyed this aspect
⁃ Support each other, ranting is allowed, saying you are down is encouraged & celebrating our happy days too 😘
⁃ We have fun
⁃ If you have a pet, it’s welcome aboard
⁃ NOTHING IS TOO MUCH INFORMATION

@Vil10 currently holds the 👑for filthiest/most embarrassing story, can you beat her???

Story so far...

June 24 BFPs
July 11 BFPs
August 18 BFPs
Sep 4 BFPs
Oct 7 BFPs

So far
6 BFPs in November

How many more 🤔🚌🥰

@paintfairy no practical help, sure, but you guys have help me, lots, I feel much better and ready to embrace the world again, there’s nothing to be achieved by worrying, so I am just going to assume everything is well and carry on, and hopefully it is....

paintfairy · 25/11/2020 15:06

@Franklydear no one knows we are ttc either so it's not like I can tell anyone. But yes you are right, it is helpful to have people listening.

I think carrying on is all you can do for now? Its easy to say don't worry but I know it must be so hard not to. Fingers crossed everything is fine xx

Minster2012 · 25/11/2020 15:11

That's basically why I'm here @Florence13, laughs, pictures, memes, quizzes (oooo we might need a quiz soon) handholds, maybe I missed my calling as a bus driver?? I could def find a decent Christmas stamp I reckon @paintfairy. @Franklydear you CAN face the world. There is a baby in there & a big boss baby who needs you too. One will take your mind off the other.

@Katao I haven’t used natural cycles. We always just used condoms for contraceptives for the years before starting TTC, although admittedly we occasionally would risk and just use the withdrawal method. Starting to realise all my years without hormonal contraceptives and no accidents is probably a sign I wasn’t very fertile! I have only avoided hormonal contraceptives because I wasn’t allowed the easy solutions like the pill due to having migraines (the type that you lose your vision and makes you sick) so I was higher risk of stroke if I was to take them. I stupidly also assumed when I was ready to start a family it would be easier to conceive as my cycles had never been messed up with hormonal contraceptives - how wrong!

@Minster2012 great to hear your recent tests are all good 😃 our bodies may screw us over with fertility but it’s amazing what they can do otherwise!

Has anyone put Christmas decorations up early this year? I’m still holding out until December haha no Christmas music or decorations for me yet.

Franklydear · 25/11/2020 15:56

@2020mission ds has started to constantly ask how long till Xmas, so won’t be long, but define start December, that’s one weekend away...

2020mission · 25/11/2020 16:01

@Franklydear aww yeah next weekend seems like the ideal time to get in the festive mood. Glad to hear the spotting hasn’t progressed into anything too! So hard to just relax and enjoy pregnancy due to all the damn spotting and stress it causes.

Franklydear · 25/11/2020 16:05

@2020mission yes, everything stop, but there was one wipe this morning that got me worried, but I still have sore boobs and nausea, I am not going to lie, I’ll feel much better next week, but I think I am ok, it wasn’t all that much blood all together, and mostly brown...

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/11/2020 16:09

@Vil10 wow you are so organised! I usually only start buying in December and decs go up then too.
@Minster2012 it took me forever to remember how to spell it so that spell check would come up with the correct word 😂
20 more mins until Dh's urologist call! 😬 he best call on time 😆

kalidasa · 25/11/2020 16:44

@Katao sorry just noticed your question about natural family planning. I used the method called "Fertility Awareness Method". You chart your fertility signs throughout your cycle (mainly cervical fluid and temps, some women do cervical position as well but I could never reach the thing!). Basically you either abstain or use a barrier method as soon as you start to see signs you are entering your fertile period and you continue to do so until you have three consecutive high temps clearly above the preceding six (confirming ovulation). It worked well for me, I didn't mind using condoms a few days a month but neither I nor DH wanted to use them all the time. (I think the abstaining version is harder than the guides to the method admit, though, because naturally the fertile period is exactly when your libido is highest!) Like @2020mission I have never been on the pill because I used to get "classic" migraines (with aura and visual disturbance) and you're not supposed to take the pill if you do (can't honestly remember why, stroke or DVT risk or something). Then after DS1 they told me I shouldn't use any hormonal method because it might make me sick. I switched to a copper coil after both babies though because natural family planning is most effective when you can take your temp the same time every day / aren't getting up a zillion times in the night etc. I think it also worked well for me because though I had quite irregular cycles until after I'd had children, I had very clear fertility signs and a really big thermal shift. I also found it interesting to learn about my cycle and note the links to mood, libido, energy etc.

lucyrp · 25/11/2020 17:01

haven't caught up yet but in a foul mood after discussions about what we do when we go into the next lockdown straight after christmas for 35 days! fuming

Katao · 25/11/2020 17:03

@Minster2012 congratulations on the results, always a relief I'm sure. I selfishly don't think I could donate eggs. Not unless it was to one of my sisters maybe or a friend but I don't think I could donate them and not know what happened or as you say have a knock at the door in 18 years.

@Franklydear glad you are feeling calmer.
@2020mission oh right, I remembered you saying you hadn't used hormonal contraceptives alright. Oh I know how you feel. All those years thinking we were just careful and now realising there was frig all chance of it happening anyway apparently!

Katao · 25/11/2020 17:09

@kalidasa it sounds very interesting! Especially as you say to feel clued in to your own body. This has been my first month tracking bbt but it's not going great. I just don't have the consistency of sleep for it. Yes the libido/fertility link was what mostly confused me because surely that would be when you would most want to do it so abstaining those days wouldn't be great! Hmmm something to think about for the future. Hormonal contraceptives seem to stop me getting thst pms sickness but they don't have a great effect on my mood.

Minster2012 · 25/11/2020 17:14

@notyetamumbuttrying has he done it????? On the Xmas thing I have about half my Xmas presents. Usually I'm more organised. I do Xmas shopping for our staff and corporate gifts for our company too, I usually make a load of hampers but we aren't doing it this year, we are only doing a few & instead giving extra bonus to staff and donating the rest to our local food bank so that's one less thing but that usually means I'm in Xmas mode early. I've just finished DS's advent "thing" with bits n bobs from charity shops in it & Christmas tasks to do together each day. One of the tasks is help mummy and daddy decorate outside 😂it's a bit early

@lucyrp you ok??? Sending big hugs

@Katao it's not selfish at all. Totally understandable. I think I could donate and leave for a stranger but not for someone I know as then you are related & can see them growing up knowing that's a part of you. For surrogacy when the person is just hosting I think it's a bit easier but my friend said "if you need an egg too that's fine" but both myself and DH were a bit weird with that. Despite us now saying that our children are cousins. It's very emotive and such a big thing. We would have gone down the donor egg route instead

@Minster2012 you truely are an inspiration. So strong we couldn’t ask for a better bus driver to lead the way x

notyetamumbuttrying · 25/11/2020 17:55

@Minster2012 so my little lovely, he doesn't have to do it himself now cos we spoke to the best lady ever!! DH's urologist is going to refer us for ivf with icsi and she hopes we can kick off next month with a repeat SA, AMH for me and paperwork for the funding 🥳 I'm so pleased! I didn't think the call would go like that at all!
And wow to the Christmas organisation 👏🏾

paintfairy · 25/11/2020 18:00

@lucyrp oh no. Are you in Wales or somewhere? Fed up of this nonsense now.

@2020mission I do not believe Xmas decs should be up before December. 🤣 I can see people wanting to put them up a bit early but won't they be sick of seeing them if they go up too early? We usually do ours a week or 2 into December. Whilst I'm happy to do it early, it cannot be before 1 December.

Although isn't it bad luck thinking about it? 🤔 Like we need any more!

lucyrp · 25/11/2020 18:03

@paintfairy yeah, my boss was saying about it but i've looked online and can't see anywhere about a lockdown just tirrs so no idea.

@Minster2012 fuck you to cancer !

Smushty14 · 25/11/2020 18:47

@notyetamumbuttrying that is amazing news!!!! So pleased for you!!

@Minster2012 I was almost in tears reading your post, such a lovely story 💜 I love how you are so positive with everything 😘

@LauraT94 Haha maybe it's just my friends that seem to have laidback boys so far! Although they are only 15 months old.

I had to step away from all the tests in the supermarket tonight 🙈 really want to do one tomorrow but I would be pissing money away!

AHobbyaweek · 25/11/2020 18:49

@Newbie0818 oh no AF is a bitch.
@Franklydear sending sticky vibes for you.

@Katao I was using natural cycles for a while and works well to tell you when is safe unprotected and when you use condoms or similar

I like the notifications on the app but I have set them as no preview so unless my phone is unlocked it doesn't say anything other than Mumsnet. I'm iPhone though.

Had a positive OPK test today so seduced the DH just after. Wanted to go for the poufee idea but as I said we only have a big bean bag chair. We tried but ended up falling on the floor and finishing there. That counts right?? Grin

LauraT94 · 25/11/2020 18:51

@Smushty14 I've completely lost track with where everyone is. How many dpo are you?

@paintfairy we've got a wreath on our door, some fairy lights up the banisters and that's about it for now! Tree doesn't go up until second week of December because we have a real one and they just die 😂 wreath and stair lights are probably a bit early for us but I just needed some happiness.

I have barely started on Christmas buying yet 😬 I'm usually done by now! Combine being skint with being unmotivated to do anything, I just can't be arsed 😂

paintfairy · 25/11/2020 18:56

@LauraT94 yeah we usually have a real one so getting that early won't work.
We have no wreath. DH bought one the year before last, which was lovely. Then he dragged it out the loft last year and put it up. Said it looked ropey. I looked, and it was brown, because it was a real one! 🤣🤣🙈

@lucyrp hopefully not then! I hate it when people start speculating and then cause panic! 🙄

Joanna1009 · 25/11/2020 19:09

@Minster2012 haha thank you for the stick with berries...I shall pee on that in the morning 😂 and thank you for sharing your story too. You're VERY inspirational and your sense of humour is the absolute best. But you're right...I am ridiculous. I don't know why I do it to myself 🤷🏼‍♀️

lucyrp · 25/11/2020 19:47

@LauraT94 in the same boat as you have to wait to get the tree up as we have a real one so may get it next weekend or the weeeknd after, need to get a wreath too and find something to stick it on the door with as the over door hangers don't work with my front door 🙄 also haven't bought many christmas presents as i am also skint 😂 although got a few ordered for DS the other day!

Smushty14 · 25/11/2020 19:57

@AHobbyaweek Ahahaha love it 🤣 definitely counts though!

@LauraT94 Based on my heart rate dip on 16th November it's estimated 9dpo - I'm CD22 and have around 28day cycles 🤞🏻

What wreath have you got? I can't find a really nice one without spending a fortune 🙈

@paintfairy ahaha did you not realise it was a real wreath?

@lucyrp I started my Christmas shopping earlier this week when a good deal popped up on the HotUKDeals app 🎄

LauraT94 · 25/11/2020 20:02

@paintfairy laughing at the brown wreath 😂

@lucyrp @Smushty14 deffo make your own wreath!! I made mine - just get a decent fake plain wreath, then use mini cable ties to attach small ish baubles and decorations. You can even add battery run fairy lights too if you're feeling fancy! Cheapest way to get a really nice wreath. Will try and get a pic of mine tomorrow!

Also @Smushty14 could be a good testing day tomorrow then! I'm already gagging to test and I'm only 2dpo 😂 I'm going to try my hardest to wait until 9dpo! I know it's unlikely to show before then anyway!
