8dpo - Period like cramps?

sunshinecitrus1 · 18/11/2020 17:48

Hi Everyone!

I am 8dpo and this evening feel as though I have mild period cramps. Could this be implantation or does implantation feel different? My breasts feel heavier and fuller and I can see blue visible veins on my chests, breasts and hips, CM seems to be creamy. Other than that no other real symptoms. I am trying not to think the period like cramps are a bad sign!

@Pollyell @mrsrichy Thank you so much ladies! Grin It still doesn’t feel real, I keep looking at the photo of my test like is this actually happening!? It is quite a line hey, crazily I had to get up after and go to work for the day so now I am home, I can let things sink in a little better Smile

Pollyell - You asked me how many dpo I am today and I am 18dpo Smile

@Soexciting Thanks for your message! I am really happy, nervous, but happy! Smile My temp has elevated a lot from yesterday to today, not sure if that’s because I was stressing during the night about taking my test in the morning but my chart has been pretty obvious, I had a feeling this morning it was coming Smile How many children do you have? How are your cramps now?

@littleharissa Welcome! Smile How are you? How long have you been TTC? Have you got any children? I got my BFP today with my first. I am scared but really really happy Grin still can’t quite believe it!

@sunshinecitrus1!

Hello

I already have a toddler. Have been TTC for a year and have just finished my first month of clomid. Currently CD26 however I'm so irregular that could mean anything

Congratulations! How insanely exciting for you. Children are magician and I keep all my fingers and toes crossed for another

sunshinecitrus1 · 28/11/2020 21:30

@littleharissa Ah fingers crossed for you this month! Have you periods always been irregular or has this been since you had baby number 1? Thank you so much Smile It is really exciting! I am still in utter shock, can’t quite believe it is happening! We have only been TTC for 2 months so it has happened quicker than expected!

OP posts:
littleharissa · 28/11/2020 22:23

@sunshinecitrus1

Always been irregular. DS1 was a happy surprise (shock) but we have fallen utterly in love with him and another would complete us

I feel so new to the whole tracking your cycle as I've never done it before so I've no idea when to test or what to do

On Thursday CD24 I had lightening sharp cramps for around 2 minutes so I'm guessing something is happening but I don't know what

ColleenRua · 28/11/2020 23:06

Hi all! Came on here to check for similar early symptoms and feeling like lots of people are in the same boat of me! Congrats to all who have got their BFP!

Im month 2 of TTC and day 9dpo... had mild period cramps days 5-8 dpo but none today.. but have been nauseous since day 7dpo. Today I have crazy amount of saliva and still very nauseous.. boobs aren't really sore though and I hear that's an important symptom?? Just wondering if there's anyone with similar symptoms? Haven't tested yet as I know it's still too early and I was so disappointed last month when I got my BFN so trying to hold off for as long as possible!!

Pollyell · 29/11/2020 09:10

Woops, AF showed up today! If I'm going to get a week of pre-AF cramps every cycle I will not be happy!
To be honest just glad my first proper 2ww is over with, did not enjoy those last few days. And also happy to have completed first proper post implant cycle and it was only 32 days. Onwards and upwards.

Hope you're keeping well @sunshinecitrus1, lots of excitement in your house I'm sure?!

@mrsrichy any updates? X

mrsrichy · 29/11/2020 09:43

@Pollyell sorry to hear that. You have the right attitude though, onto the next cycle hey 🤞
I got woken up early with reeeally bad cramps this morning. No AF yet but feel like it's coming today 😥 ah well, onto cycle number 9!

Hey @littleharissa and @colleenrua ! Good luck in your TTC journey. I wouldn't worry too much about not having sore boobs. I used to look out for every symptom going but the more I read the more I saw that everyone is completely different and some ladies dont get any symptoms at all?! Just to play tricks on us hey!!

Bellaai · 29/11/2020 10:36

@sunshinecitrus1 So, what happened? Did you test at all? :)

Pollyell · 29/11/2020 11:33

Morning @mrsrichy, sorry to hear about your cramps. Have you done any more tests? Maybe the IC line was an indent line. Holding out for you though!

Thank you, to be honest I am feeling much better mentally (defo not physically!!!) today than I have the last couple of days. Woke up to AF and went back to bed for a nice lie in, yesterday i was up and alert thinking about it all. And i have some plans to do things differently this cycle.
Hope you're feeling alright x

sunshinecitrus1 · 29/11/2020 12:38

@littleharissa Ah amazing, fingers crossed on baby number 2 for you! I was new to tracking my cycle as well and found that the app Ovia helped me Smile It gives you useful tips throughout your cycle. Have you ever tracked your temperature? I had a feeling I was pregnant before I actually found out because of this!

@ColleenRua Welcome! Smile I got my BFP yesterday, I was very shocked but of course very happy! Freaking out a little bit today but I am hoping it’s totally normal. I haven’t got sore breasts either, that doesn’t appear to be one of my symptoms. I did notice visible blue veins on my chest / breasts and hips but not completely obvious unless I really looked. The only symptom I had was cramps around 8dpo and felt as though AF was coming. That went on for a few days and then my period was late and I am usually like clockwork so I knew something was off. My advice to you is as tempting as it is, don’t test until you are actually late Smile

@Pollyell Sorry to hear AF turned up for you today! Hope you’re doing OK. At least the TWW is over for you now and you can concentrate on the next month ahead of you. Actually today I am feeling a little bit overwhelmed and anxious. I’m worrying that I’m not ready to be a Mum and that I’m unprepared as it has happened slightly quicker than we anticipated. I don’t have the answers to all of the questions going round in my mind so I guess it’s making me question things but I am sure that is perfectly normal. I am a huge worrier at the best of times so I hope I can keep myself calm so I am able to enjoy this as a happy time because of course it is! Smile

@sunshinecitrus1 thank you for your reply!! I was literally on my way out to boots to buy a test and then read your message and have decided to wait 😂 Sometimes you just need someone to give a little perspective! AF is due on Wednesday.. these last few days can't go by quick enough! I had very noticeable cramps around 5-8dpo and was convinced AF was going to make an early appearance. No symptoms really at all today (10dpo) so just trying not to think too much about it! easier said than done though lol😂

massive congrats to you on your BFP though! i imagine it's crazy seeing that line! how long were you ttc? is this baby no.1?

ColleenRua · 29/11/2020 13:24

@Pollyell sorry to hear AF showed up.. I found it really tough to recover from that last month and it took me quite a few days to pick myself up and move on to the next month of ttc! at least the tww is over now and you can just relax for a little while.. be kind to yourself! all fingers and toes crossed for you that you get to see a pink line before 2020 is out!

sunshinecitrus1 · 29/11/2020 16:08

@ColleenRua 😂 yay, good timing! Personally, I couldn’t deal with putting myself through the disappointment of a BFN if I did the test too early. I’m lucky that my cycles are regular so if I was late, that would be my cue to take a test but not before. AF is due only in a few days. Wait until Wednesday and if she doesn’t show then get yourself down to Boots! It will come around fast Grin think of how quick a weekend goes! That is similar to what I had, very early on AF cramps and then come the day before AF was due, I literally had no symptoms, and on the day she was due I had nothing. So I knew she wasn’t coming and then my temp was increasing too. Do you usually get early cramps like this or is it unusual? Oh you can become obsessed with it, I have been googling all sorts but honestly, everyone is different. Half of the symptoms you supposedly get if you’ve conceived, I haven’t had half of them. So try and stay open minded Smile Thank you for the congrats! I am really scared and nervous as this has happened a little quicker than we anticipated but of course I am really happy Grin This is baby number 1 and this was just our second month of TTC xx

@sunshinecitrus1 it's such an exciting time for you! I'll be a bag of nerves whenever I do get a BFP but I believe these things have a way of working themselves out. you and your OH will adjust as you need to! we're month 2 of ttc too. last month, I was very obsessed with ovulation tracking etc and was also very stressed at work etc.. I ended up putting a lot of pressure on our sex life and it wasn't the most relaxing experience for either of us tbh! this month, I took a big step back, only tested ovulation 2 days and made a big effort not to talk about babies while doing the BD 😂 I think that's helped a lot. AF is extremely regular for me and I never get cramps that early. Have been very nauseous today but trying to stay grounded and remind myself that that could be for a myriad of reasons! it's tough not to read into every little niggle though isn't it?? when are you due?

Krista123 · 29/11/2020 21:11

Hey, hope you don't mind me jumping in but I've literally read every comment.
I've been ttc for almost 2 years now, started tracking ovulation in June and ended up giving up because nothing was happening, despite having sex when I got the smiley face. Me and my partner have a referral going in for the fertility clinic but this month I've completely given up on even thinking about it. However, yesterday and today I've had quite bad cramps, my boobs are quite swollen, quite tender like as if they are bruised and got quite a lot of blue veins. I had a bit of a bleed earlier but I'm 5 days before AF arrives🤔 my periods are very regular, either coming on a day wary or a day late but never this early. I'm really hoping this happens. Oh and I'm also about 9/10/11 dpo. What do you guys think??

sunshinecitrus1 · 29/11/2020 23:57

@ColleenRua It is very exciting! Still trying to process it Smile I like to think the same, everything happens for a reason and I think we will be OK. I am really squeamish so I really don’t know how I am going to handle hospital appointments and dare I say... Childbirth! It petrifies me! So that’s something I am going to have to work on! But one step at a time hey! It’s really hard not to put too much pressure on your sex life, it’s good you’ve tried not to speak about it during it so that you can just try and enjoy the moment Smile Do you track your temp? I found the app Ovia really helped me. So hard not to question everything you feel but your mind plays tricks on you it really does. Almost like you can imagine something that’s not actually there sometimes! I’ve worked out my due date should be around 2nd August 2021, Summer baby! Grin

@Krista123 Hi! Smile Sorry to hear you have been TTC for 2 years. It must be really hard to keep on trying but it will all be worth it! Your symptoms sound quite similar to mine, I had cramps a few days before AF was due (they almost felt like normal period pains) and then stopped the day before and on the day AF was due more or less. I haven’t had sore breasts but they have felt heavier and fuller and I have had the blue veins too. Was the bleed kind of like spotting? It could be implantation?

Congratulations! I bet your over the moon! It wasn't like spitting, there was a fair bit when I wiped when I went to the loo but two times after when I went for a wee it was slight brown and now nothing so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I just don't know when I can test? Or shall I just wait until I'm actually due?
I honestly can't wait until it happens to me!

sunshinecitrus1 · 01/12/2020 19:05

@Krista123 Thank you Grin Sorry for the late reply, how are you getting on? I would wait until you’re actually due to test but it’s completely your call Smile

@ColleenRua How are you getting on?

OP posts:
ColleenRua · 01/12/2020 21:25

@sunshinecitrus1 Not great! 😂 Period due in the morning and I have all the tell tale signs.. Same usual cramps and irritability so I think it's inevitable that I'm out this month! Not to worry. I know that month 2 of ttc is still early days so onwards and upwards! Will give it a go next month. Its frustrating when you reeeeeeally think you are experiencing symptoms but maybe this will help me to relax next month, knowing that there's little point reading into every twinge and niggle!

Krista123 · 01/12/2020 21:34

@ColleenRua How are you getting on?[/quote]
I'm absolutely gutted, I think I'm coming on! I honestly thought this would be my month, having not suffered with pms for 10years+ to now getting cramps and sore boobs this month, thought it was my time. Just hope my referral for the fertility clinic comes through soon. It's been an odd day though, I've had a bit of a bleed this morning when I wiped but nothing major and then it's just been a bit brown when I've wiped which normally I come straight on. But think my period is inevitable 🥺

KSP8273 · 01/12/2020 22:16

Hi everyone. A big congratulations to @sunshinecitrus1. I was thrilled to see your BFP!

sunshinecitrus1 · 01/12/2020 22:54

@Krista123 Don’t lose hope yet. It is not over until AF officially arrives. The cramps that I experienced a few days before AF was due was literally the same as period pains. I felt exactly the same as you, that AF was coming any minute but she never did. I have my fingers crossed for you I really do. Please do keep me posted Smile

@KSP8273 Thank you so much for the lovely message Grin I am really happy but scared and nervous and everything in between! It almost doesn’t feel real just yet Smile Are you TTC at the moment?

OP posts:
KSP8273 · 01/12/2020 23:17

@sunshinecitrus1 That's alright, I'm just scanning the forum reading as many positive experiences and I was sooo invested in yours as the pages went on for some time lol. It's such a lovely time though. I'm craving those emotions again! I am TTC, this is my first month, and tomorrow I'll be on TWW.

My DS (3 years old) was a surprise so I've never been TTC before.

sunshinecitrus1 · 02/12/2020 21:02

@KSP8273 Ah amazing! 😊 A few days have passed since I found out and in all honesty, I have been a little overwhelmed, scared, anxious and haven’t felt excited at all. Which I have felt guilty about too as I know how lucky I am. But tonight is the first time that I have had excited feelings coming through so I’m hoping that that is a sign I am starting to process it and over the initial shock! 😊 How exciting for you! How are you preparing, are you cycle tracking or just trying to go with the flow?

@Krista123 Hope you’re doing OK today!
