Feeling very fed up with failing every month and wondered if there's anyone in the same boat? It's a lonely boat on a journey to nowhere at the moment, but if anyone else wants to join me, some company would be nice

Go on then Ready what's the q?

Ready · 06/01/2008 23:58

Ok. It's like this...

A close friend of mine, started trying after me, and had her baby in November. Since she had her baby she has been signing off in text messages like so "xx,dp,dd" (I hope that makes sense?) ... even if it is just a random text conversation.

And I know I am probably being over-sensitive, but it just feels like she is rubbing my nose in it. Am I over-reacting? Or would anyone else feel miffed by this? She knows we are ttc, and she seems so bloody smug when she talks about it with me, that I have started avoiding the subject where possible (difficult given she is now a mother!)

How do I get over this?

Bonnie123 · 07/01/2008 10:23

Thanks for the lovely welcome girls and yes I'm sure I'm as mad as all of you!

Ready - I know exactly how you feel and I don't think you're being too sensitive, my friend does the same kind of thing and the only way I can deal with it is just to ignore it as I think it would cause an argument if I mentioned anything. What do you think? I'd just like to hope that we would be a bit more tactful if we were in there situation!

Ready · 07/01/2008 10:28

Bonnie - spot on, I don't think bringing it up with her would be a good idea. I would just end up sounding bitter - which I suppose I sort of am. And I definitely wouldn't sign off a text to someone struggling with ttc in that manner .

Still pretty mixed, emotionally, today.

RahRah1 · 07/01/2008 11:55

Hi all

My interest connection is really struggling at home and could not get on this weekend.. ... Bloody SKY!

Hope everyone is well.

kd73 - been thinking of you and sending you lots of {{HUGS}}

Ready - Its very hard and people are the hardest thing. The people you think are going to be the most thoughtful and helpful are often the people that aren't. Its incredible how selfish and inconsiderate people can be and truly insensitive. People often say that if you have never been through something you can't relate... but I'm afraid thats rubbish, you can at least try and be compassionate. As long as someone tries you can never ask more than that!
Your friend I'm afraid is being incredibly short sighted and isolating herself from friends in the long term. Remember you are the better person and will always have lots of friendships. Big Hugs XXX

Ready · 07/01/2008 16:21

Thanks Rah, lovely of you to say I will always have good friendships I must say I have made a close friend or two over the last year that I couldn't be without now Funny how life goes sometimes

Right, well, the threads are ever so quiet at the moment, and I have asked my real question, so now for a fun question - What one beauty product could you not live without?
I asked on another thread, and I know some may be on both, but I am interested to hear everyone's item For me, LizEarle Cleanse&Polish - without it my skin would be even worse than it is

Ready · 07/01/2008 16:35

Jess1996 - If you are lurking chick, hope you are ok? We miss you, but hope that your absense is for the best of reasons

Bonnie123 · 07/01/2008 16:41

I've been thinking how quiet it is today! I've got 2 favourite beauty products 1st is Dermalogica Active Cleansing Gel, I can't live without that as my skin would also be worse that it is without that, also Clarins Tinted moisturiser, I honestly look ill if I forget to put that on.
Jess1996 - I was thinking about you also today. I hope you are OK?

Ready · 07/01/2008 16:53

Oooh Bonnie - I used the Dermalogica before Liz Earle, it was good stuff. I find the Liz Earle products gentler, but was impressed with Dermalogica Clarins tinted moisturiser - tell us more? I need something other than foundation to give my face a little glow - are there different shades of what you use?

Bonnie123 · 07/01/2008 17:05

Yes, I'm quite fair so I use number 3 it's called Dore (pronouced dor ray), I've been using it for years and it does exactly what you need just a little glow , I've been thinking for a while that I need to start using foundation what one do you use? I might start trying Liz Earle as well. Do you get it on-line or do they sell it on the highstreet?

Ready · 07/01/2008 17:27

I get my Liz Earle from her website, everything comes wrapped in tissue paper, and you get a free gift each time - but she has a shop in London, and some branches of John Lewis have started stocking it

I love everything she has! The only thing I can't use is the moisturisers. Even what is recommended for oily skin gives me spots - I have been using the eye serum as moisturiser, but it is very expensive using it that way, so need to seek an alternative. Any ideas anyone?

I am always on the look out for the perfect foundation. I am not sure it exists but I am pretty happy with what I am using at the moment, Chanel Mat Lumiere. I am quite pale, but this gives a hint of colour and great coverage, but is perhaps a little heavy for day time. You see, I am never completely happy. I am thinking of trying the new YSL one, that comes with it's own brush. I like a shimmer. I have benefit high beam and that always adds a dewy finish

Bonnie123 · 08/01/2008 09:34

I've just ordered the Try me Young kit I'll let you know what I think. I use Chanel Moisturiser and before that I had Creme de la Mer (a gift from DH I wouldn't pay for it myself!!) . Completely agree with you on foundation I never seem to find anything that blends perfectly but I guess it's just trial and error. I also have benefit high beam I love it! How are you all feeling today?

Bonnie123 · 08/01/2008 16:12

Hi All, I wonder if I can ask a question I'm on CD12 and have taken my 2nd course of Clomid. Has anyone experienced spotting at this stage of the cycle?

Chocolatedays · 08/01/2008 19:33

Hi gals

  • yes I'm lurking!

Bonnie - guess this is not a monitored Clomid cycle? I'll assume not and suggest you shag like crazy for the next day or two as some women spot at ovulation and maybe, just maybe the clomid has done what it has supposed to do. GOOD LUCK!

Hi & love to everyone else - hoping and praying for you.
Choc xx

Bonnie123 · 09/01/2008 09:33

Thanks for the message choc, yes it's not a monitored cycle so I'll take your advice and stop worrying! Hope you're feeling good and everything is going well for you.

Ready · 09/01/2008 15:09

Chocolatedays - So lovely to see you, and pleased that you are lurking, or rather, watching over us - how's it all going? I am massively stupidly optimistic this cycle. New year and all that, dreams may come true blah blah blah . Pretty sure I will come crashing down to earth in 8 days time. Sigh.

Bonnie - Sorry, no nothing about Clomid, but nomore does and she should be along soon - but then Choc has offered some help too Let me know how you get on with the try-me-young kit. I love the spot-on rollerball, seriously, nothing dries out a spot like that stuff

Where is everyone?? I asked a question before, and I know Rah answered me, and I shouldn't keep going on... but the more people that tell me I am not over-reacting, the better

Ready · 09/01/2008 15:09

know nothing about clomid. Apologies for that

Ready · 10/01/2008 09:57

News from Rah - Isabella decided to show up yesterday (18mm and viable and from the left ovary) and so Rah had to go into the clinic at 8.15 last night for her injection and the procedure is now set for Friday!! SOOOO EXCITING!!!! Rah is having internet problems, but as soon as she is online again, she will be back to tell us everything

Must dash

Bonnie123 · 10/01/2008 10:10

Rah - That's fantastic news I really hope everything works out for you.

Ready - I too am stupidly optimistic this month, I don't know why I just feel like it's going to happen, but and then everytime I buy a lottery ticket I'm convinced I'm going to win but they say positive thinking helps so hopefully it will work for us this month . What day are you on at the moment?

nomoremagnolia · 10/01/2008 11:32

Hi all, sorry I wasn't there last night.
Rah All the best - am cheering Isabella on.
Bonnie I was on Clomid but didn't have spotting. Guess it's just ov? I wasn't monitored at all except a day 21 blood test in the first cycle.
Ready
Am going back to fertility clinic in two weeks as 6 months of Clomid hasn't worked for me

Ready · 11/01/2008 17:20

Oh my goodness. I am sooo excited about Rah - Just think, she could be fertilising right now Come on Isabella hang on tight!!!

How is everyone??

kd73 · 11/01/2008 19:08

Thanks for everyones kind messages. We had the repeat scan today and as suspected we have had 2nd miscarriage.

As recommended by the hospital we are going to take a short break from ttc but I may continue to lurk in the background. I hope to be back shortly in the meantime, good luck and lots of baby dust *

Chocolatedays · 11/01/2008 19:12

So sorry kd.

Ready · 11/01/2008 19:42

Oh Kd, I'm so sorry Hope you are getting plenty of tlc. Thinking of you.

Ready · 11/01/2008 19:51

Kd, I hope you don't mind, but Rah asked me earlier if there had been any news from you today(her broadband is out of action) and so I texted her with your sad news. She wanted me to tell you that she is very sorry, and thinking of you at this difficult time.
