Hey girls, who'd have thought we would need another thread!

We welcome other long standers as we have all been ttc for quite while! (All of us about 18 months +)

With the greatest respect, if you are new to ttc, this isn't the thread for you as we are all angry and hormonal 😂😂

@Tinkerbell098 thank you! I wouldn't quite say lucky we've been here for 3yrs but it's nice it's finally happened at the same time for us.
Good luck with your journey too x

Annny27 · 08/03/2022 19:06

@PrettyTulip how did it go!

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 08/03/2022 19:14

@Annny27 sorry my love was just about to write a message.
All seemed well, dancing around nicely! Measured a few days out so 11w6d but they said all looked like it should at that stage 🥰 just gotta wait for the screening results now

Bless you with the sickness; I've not really had any of the 'normal' symptoms which worries me immensely. Super tired and extremely constipated meaning I can't finish a meal without feeling super bloated so have to eat little amounts.
How are you doing today?

Annny27 · 11/03/2022 10:37

Amazing @prettytulip SOOO glad it went well! Sounds incredible :)

I think symptoms vary so much. I really only feel nausea when I havent eaten anything for about an hour and half. And I have sore boobs on and off. Sometimes not sore atall haha

Are you gonna find out babies sex?

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 11/03/2022 12:52

@Annny27 glad things are still going well for you then 😊 2022 will be our year 🤩

No; we won't find out, are you?

Annny27 · 14/03/2022 20:26

@PrettyTulip yep 2022 is for us!!

Mmm I am not sure as my hubby really wants to find out but I would happily wait haha. Cross that bridge when it comes to it but I told him he csnt find out unless I want to haha

Have you told people now?

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 14/03/2022 20:40

@Annny27 we've started telling people yes, still so so nervous tbh - I'm sure you'll be the same after what we've been through.

Shame that this is the only way we can communicate tbh. Would be nice to stay updated and keep in touch after all this time x

Annny27 · 14/03/2022 20:44

@prettytulip awwh lovely 💗💗 yeah I know what you mean I would be the same! I am 7+4 today and got nausea back after a few days of no nausea haha

I was thinking of setting up an Instagram so I could follow mumsnet people and chat there - not decided yet!

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 14/03/2022 20:46

@Annny27 I bet the nausea is horrendous! Kinda glad I've not had it but it would have been reassuring in another manner.

7+4 already. Wow.
I'm 12+5 based on my scan x

Annny27 · 16/03/2022 19:42

@prettytulip yeah Its like constant car sickness when I havent eaten for a while!

Do you have your 20 week booked in yet or do they send you the date closer to the time? I have first midwife appointment tomorrow so will find out all the details about my scan etc :)

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 16/03/2022 19:46

@Annny27 not yet, the hospital just said they'd sort it & send me an appt in the post. My next appt is the 16w midwife one but that's just over the phone x

Annny27 · 26/03/2022 16:30

Oh is that because of covid phone appointments?

I had a 9 week scan today and was lovely to see it moving about 🥰

How are you feeling? @PrettyTulip

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 26/03/2022 19:12

@Annny27 I think so. I believe they changed it during covid and found it worked well so stuck with it.

Aww amazing. Are you feeling more confident this time? Has it started sinking in yet?

I do not feel pregnant at all! I've got another private scan next weekend for reassurance cos at the moment I'm struggling to think everything is alright! I'll be 15+3 when I have it.

Hope you're doing okay xx

Annny27 · 01/04/2022 09:11

@prettytulip I think I will do the same around 16 weeks as the 2nd trimester before movements and a bump is hard to believe I bet haha!

Do you have a bump yet?

Only 2 weeks till my 12 week scan and I am excited and nervous haha

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 01/04/2022 09:15

@Annny27 I know exactly how you must be feeling, I was the same. Waiting so long to have your turn so excited but also nervous in case anything is wrong ☹️

I'm overweight anyway so my roll just looks bigger than having a 'bump' 😂 it's the period of growth tho so hopefully a massive change in the next week or two! Scan tomorrow so hopefully all is well x

Annny27 · 02/04/2022 13:19

Good luck today @PrettyTulip 💗💗💗

Haha I am the opposite I am tinybut still no bump only a bit of bloat 🤣🤣

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 03/04/2022 08:13

@Annny27 thank you. All was well ❤️ measuring exactly what i should be from my 12w scan with a healthy heartbeat. (Still dying to hear it for the first time 🥺)

Oh don't you worry, that bump will pop! Although I've seen anything before 16-18 weeks is more likely to be your bowels rather than the 'baby'. Nice thought huh 🤔 🤣

Annny27 · 04/04/2022 20:29

Awwh I am so pleased :D @prettytulip

Some things I see online show ultrasounds hearing the heartbeat but I haven't had it at any of mine. Maybe it's an American thing vs British! I think at 16 weeks midwife they might try hear it for you 🤞🤞🤞🤞

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 04/04/2022 21:03

@Annny27 my 16 week appt is over the phone. I think it varies by area but I don't actually meet the midwife until 24w.
I've read they tend not to play the heartbeat too early now as the ultrasound can harm the baby (dunno how) and the Doppler sometimes can't pick it up before 20ish weeks so midwives don't like to cause unnecessary anxiety to the mum-to-be.
Hopefully I'll hear it on my 20w scan (when I think they play the heartbeat through the cord Instead as it's meant to be safer..)

I'm still struggling to comprehend we're finally getting to do this together after so long for us both 🌺🌺

Annny27 · 07/04/2022 21:35

@PrettyTulip I hope you get to hear it soon! So cool how they can hear it through the cord!

I know I am in absolute shock sometimes it's surreal!

1 week till my 12 week scan now!

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 08/04/2022 07:59

@Annny27 how exciting! First milestone so close but yet so far 🤩

Annny27 · 15/04/2022 11:02

@prettytulip We had some unexpected news so probably going to take a break and will update you when all results are back.

Baby measuring 11+6 with heartbeat which was great. But the NT measurments were very high indicating an abnormality so we have been referred to fetal medicine. Keeping my fingers crossed that all is okay 🤞🤞

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 15/04/2022 11:42

@Annny27 oh that is not what you needed to hear.

Take the positives in that baby is growing well with a lovely heartbeat and try not to threat too much about what you cannot control. Sometimes if baby isn't in a good position etc the measurements can be all out. Did you have the bloods done too? Maybe having the NIPT will give more reassurance if you're offered it as many people seem to go for this option at the early stages (privately though)

Keeping you in my thoughts until you're ready to talk xxx

Annny27 · 15/04/2022 12:20

@prettytulip that's what I am holding on to, baby faced away from us the entire time and I don't think she got a good measurement! But we will see next week

And NHS may offer NIPT to us next week and if not we will pay privately for it🤞🤞🤞

OP posts:
PrettyTulip · 15/04/2022 12:23

@Annny27 such a worrying time all these checks and even more so when you've had to deal with your past experiences too.
