@Gem176 so heartbreaking! It's brilliant how your brother has managed to turn it into a positive and raised all that money for charity

@Franklydear that sounds like the worst kind of night, hope you can get some more rest today and feel loads better soon

Amy00 · 13/11/2020 08:50

Morning everyone, I tested again on a cheapie and couldn't really see a line.... so I did a frer and there is a line and OH is now on board!!!

It's very faint but is there. 8 or 9 dpo. I woke up worrying that it's too early for implantation and it's ectopic. Or twins 😳

I'm going to be an absolute ball of nerves for the foreseeable future given my history. Going to try not to get too invested until we get to the 12w scan. I'll get an early NHS one at 6-7 weeks but OH won't be allowed in which is proper shit as if it's bad news I'll be alone, and if it's good news he won't be there to see the baby (blob) for the first time.

Also I've just bought 6 bottles of wine (25% off offer), including an actual champagne bottle to celebrate my birthday on Monday, now can't drink any of them! 😂

I've been here since may, although not a regular poster, I do read pretty much everything, love you guys 💜

@Franklydear looks like you had an awful nights sleep!! Take it easy today.

@Gem176 That's a bloody awful story. How heart breaking. You just don't expect that either from younger people, it's tragic.

I can see why your brother struggles though. In my mind your first proper relationship is what you compare to. I've only had 2 really that you'd class as long term. My first ended. It wasn't great by then. I do not want to be with him again ever. In fact he was a at times. But- its still really hard to put those people out your mind. You also forget the bad bits. And I still have many regrets. I do compare things back to that. And that's someone that things has ran their course with. So I can't imagine what it must be like for it to have been taken away from you at that point whilst you were still on a journey and still loved that person. I think later in life would be hard but I think your first relationship would leave more of a mark to be honest. There's still time though- I only got with my DH at 33. And he's older than me.

@Franklydear medication can definitely do that. Definitely get some rest!

@amy2503 my first bus on MN was the February bus! 🤣 Not a sniff of a line ever.

Juno231 · 13/11/2020 09:15

@paintfairy I agree - OH is my second long term relationship and I still regularly think about my first proper bf. Not in a longing way or anything but I still am interested in what goes on in his life cause he was my first love after all. I think that's why him having a baby last month hit me extra hard!

Thank you all, @Minster2012 that actually make me cry, it’s good, do you want to come work with me? it’s a hell of a commute but you won’t have to give blowjobs to your boss...

Franklydear · 13/11/2020 09:21

@paintfairy dh is my only long relationship,... sometimes I don’t know if that is good or bad

Gem176 · 13/11/2020 09:35

The frer this morning was stark white not even a hint of a squinter so I'm out this month. My new dilemma is do I stop trying for a few months? I booked a surprise holiday yesterday for OHs 40th birthday (December 2021) so if I did manage to get pregnant between now and June I'd either have a very young baby or be heavily pregnant.... help!!

paintfairy · 13/11/2020 09:41

@Juno231 yeah it's hard to just forget them? They were part of your first experiences for a lot of things. You kind of map your life out with them and then it doesn't go that way? I was with mine 7 years.

@Franklydear its good if you like him. 🤣 I suppose really that's the ideal. If you can find someone early on that works out. You are probably less bitter. I have issues that stem from mine really and my poor DH gets to have to deal with that. Although the same applies the other way to be fair.

Vil10 · 13/11/2020 09:46

@Gem176 that story, how heartbreaking💔 poor girl!! So sorry for the bfn!! But I was also in the same situation as you a few months back, we're going to Mexico with friends in June 2021 and last I heard you can't go to Mexico pregnant because of Zika virus, it's not as common now so whether they have a vaccine for pregnant women I don't know I'd have to cross that bridge when I get to it, but it was either stop trying for a while, or o had to get pregnant pretty much the month or month after I booked it and obviously that didn't happen, so I discussed it with OH about us stopping trying for a while, but we basically came to the conclusion that if we stopped TTC for everything we have planned or could plan in the future we'd never conceive because we'd never be trying! However saying that, we've decided that if we aren't pregnant by next august, we're going to stop for a few months and go to the phillipines in November, and start trying again in November! I think sometimes you feel like you need a bit of a break! I get that this message is deffo mixed messages on what to do😂 but i think you should carry on TTC, for all you know you could get pregnant next cycle🤞🏼

@Franklydear you need time to yourself and rest!x

@Amy00 amazing!! Congratulations!!x

Juno231 · 13/11/2020 09:52

@vil10 just a heads up that if you'd hold off ttc for Philippines due to zika then the recommendation is to stop for 6 months post trip! You can get private tests though once you come back to verify if you have it or not.

@Franklydear insomnia sucks so bad. Ive really struggled with it since the MMC and its the worst. I thought it was getting better but then I was up last night too and just ended up thinking about & worrying about a patient I saw yesterday so the 1st thing I did this morning was call my colleague to run my worries past her and she's going to do some enquiries for me 🙈 like why do we worry so much at night... I think the dark must make it worse. Definitely rest as much as you need and DO NOT GO BACK TO WORK until you are fully feeling better. Put yourself 1st for a change, you're a woman in demand and your body need some care right now. Be kind to yourself lovely. And i agree with @minster2012 you probably should get tested just incase. With your respiratory history it's really worth checking. 💕

Also I think all past relationships leave their mark... Friendships & romantic relationships. I'm a firm believer that people come into your life for a reason, some are meant to stay with you forever and some are meant to come and go, and you learn something from each of those relationships regardless of of they were good or bad. I had a 1 other "serious relationship" but it was only 18 months and I was about 17 when it started so it wasn't actually a long term relationship even tho it felt it at the time... So DH has been my only real long term relationship too (since I was 19yrs old) @Franklydear and I don't think it's a bad thing. I just see it as lucky that I found my guy so early and havnt had to go through too much heartbreak 👍🏻

Vil10 · 13/11/2020 09:58

@Juno231 it's in the phillipines too?? Ffs!! I knew it was in Mexico but not there too, well that's fucked that up then! Well looks like we won't be going to the phillipines until our children are older😂

Sausage1990 · 13/11/2020 10:03

@gem176 I agree with @vil10 that you should keep trying. If it was me I would anyway, Ive got major baby fever tho so for me being ready to drop or having a little baby wouldn't bother me at all... Just gimme the baby ahaha

@vil10 yes unfortunately @Juno231 is right that you need to wait after being in a zeka zone before ttc again because the virus can live in your system. Although I don't think it's 6months anymore. I mean it may have changed back again but we went to Costa Rica in October 2019 for our honeymoon and the advice then was women had to wait 1 month but men had to wait 3 months because the virus can last longer in semen. So if you went in November you'd have to wait until at least the end if Feb/March before trying again 😏

Vil10 · 13/11/2020 10:15

@Sausage1990 I knew that was the case having to wait when you get back before TTC, but I didn't know that was the case for the phillipines!! Well hopefully I'll fall pregnant before next summer anyway because we'll have been TTC for a year in may so I'd like to tbink I'll be pregnant before then🤞🏼

2020mission · 13/11/2020 10:18

@Amy00 congratulations! Try not to worry about seeing a clear result quite early. You've likely just implanted on the earlier side 😃

Quick question for you all... I woke up sweating this morning and I realised this often happens for days most months during the week before AF. Does anyone else get these night/morning sweats when nearing the end of their cycles, or is it something that I shouldn't think of as normal?

2020mission · 13/11/2020 10:26

@Gem176 that's a tough one on whether to take a break... I would like to say take the break if you do feel like it will be beneficial and you really don't want a the chance of a baby or pregnancy during the holiday, but if you are like me and a little worried about age and the clock ticking, maybe not.

I did have a 2 month break from TTC earlier in the year and at the time it felt right as I was feeling so low after the chemical and the pandemic happening but I never would have if I knew then how long it would really take to conceive. I was still naive then and believed it would happen in a matter of months, so a month or so off would be nothing 🤦‍♀️

Gem176 · 13/11/2020 10:34

@Newbie0818 it was rough on him but he managed and has done some positives in the years since.

@notyetamumbuttrying it really really is!

@Minster2012 they don't understand at all or the word "just" wouldn't be used at all.

@InkyPaper he's a tough wee bugger, far stronger than me. The only time he really crumbled was when the coffin went into the hearse at her funeral. He had/has his melancholy moments but just the one time he really broke down.

@paintfairy the doctors wrote it off as period pain in the beginning because it's so uncommon at her age to get these cysts and then when they finally removed them and tested them it wasn't good news.
I'd agree with that, my first love from when o was 18 still occasionally pops into my head but I have the comfort of knowing it ran its course. There is plenty time for him yet, my mum just wants weddings and grandkids 😂

@Vil10 @Sausage1990 I don't think I could stop now even if I wanted to, just absolutely desperate for a baby!! I'm not allowed to fly late in pregnancy and the thought of a new born on a flight fills me with dread so since it's a surprise holiday I'd just cancel, I'd only lose the deposit and he'd be none the wiser 😂

Gem176 · 13/11/2020 10:42

@2020mission I think at most I'd just relax a bit about it but won't stop trying altogether (remind me of this in my fw and we can all laugh at how not relaxed I am 😂). Baby beats everything else so I'd just cancel the holiday, it's a surprise so he wouldn't know he was missing out 🙊

Oh and yeah, I get really hot before af arrives but I've never worried about it as apparently night sweats are a PMS symptom 🤷🏻‍♀️

Kirky658 · 13/11/2020 10:57

@gem176 oh hun just sending loads of hugs your way. ❤️
@franklydear love your nighttime ramblings, try and get some rest today

So I'm now 5 days away from expected AF. Been trying not to get hopes up really, boobs feel a bit floppy, I'm covered in spots on my face and I'm just exhausted tbh. I'm not gonna bother with a test because I just know AF will arrive to annoy me 😞

Gem176 · 13/11/2020 11:11

@Kirky658 thank you, for some reason I'm actually ok about it this month, usually devastated. Think there is a psychological aspect at play though, the words not pregnant on a cb digital crush me but a second line not appearing hasn't had the same effect. Am I disappointed, hugely so but I don't want to go to bed and cry for the day. Or maybe it's just getting easier knowing that I'm not the only one it's not happening for instantly 🤷🏻‍♀️

Franklydear · 13/11/2020 11:12

@Vil10 that’s exactly what I need! But with Covid I haven’t been able to see anybody or going anywhere, I must do better, can’t keep the pressure for ever
Manage to sleep a couple of ours, I’ll try again in a minute, another side effect I’ve forgotten, the many long visits to the bathroom
@Sausage1990 I will rest, promise, good doctor hat,
on dh, that is true, I’ve never known true separation, I’ve been with him as teen, and his family by extension, I can’t imagine life any different
@Gem176 I’ve flown with every age, had to, family across the pond, new born is much easier than kicking toddler
@Kirky658 same here and same here

lucyrp · 13/11/2020 11:14

@Franklydear good idea!😂

@notyetamumbuttrying getting my nails done today so I'll add a picture later 🤪 going for something a bit snazzy again this time!

@Juno231 yay that's what I thought! When she read the numbers out I thought everything else looked pretty good, I tried to look for LH levels online and couldn't find anytning about it. It's not much higher then ? Or is that a lot ? She said it was within the normal range so if it was high wouldn't they question pcos ? I'm sure we've ruled that out already but could be I guess. I also regularly wonder what my first boyfriend is doing, he was actually from when I was 10/11 until about 14 😂 we were more best friends than boyfriend and girlfriend but he helped me through high school, he was the oldest in the school year and I was the youngest. He was super clever too😂he recently had a baby with a girl and he's not with her anymore, I have his mum on faveuook too and she always posts about how they don't get to see their grandchild so I guess he doesn't see his son much either which makes me sad for him ☹️

notyetamumbuttrying · 13/11/2020 11:38

@Franklydear I'm glad you're bk in bed! Stay there until you feel better x
@Amy00 so pleased it's come up on the FRER and you're still mega early so here's for a very sticky bean! Congrats 🥳
@2020mission it's just hormonal changes, I get it too amongst other weird and wonderful things!
@lucyrp can't wait to see 💅🏻
For those with AF see pic below 😂

Franklydear · 13/11/2020 11:42

@Amy00 congrats, that’s fantastic
@notyetamumbuttrying I am in bed and even deep slept two hours in the morning, defo not going to work tomorrow, they can struggle one day without me, problem is I feel better if I don’t move, so I fool myself that I must be better

Gem176 · 13/11/2020 12:03

@Franklydear flew with DD when she was 15 months old and she was a dream. She was happy walking up and down the aisle, happily chattering to anyone who said hello to her... she walked off that flight a good €50 richer 🙈 happy enough to sit with headphones and music for take off and landing. I'd be terrified a new born would get sore ears and just scream 😢
Glad you are getting some sleep and definitely let them get on with it without you tomorrow!

@notyetamumbuttrying 😂😂😂 they definitely are! Just drink the wine, eat everything in sight and leave the gym bag alone you crazies!
