Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

@emmgrem no problem, I found those blogs really reassuring as I had the double pattern kind of peak and initially I thought I was broken.

@AMS19 hahah god poor you. I can imagine that awful split second thinking something is wrong. It's so jumpy-making isn't it!

BTW going back to the internet cheapy thing I bet in a week you'll be getting satisfying blazing test lines on them.

Have you joined the July 2021 baby thread BTW? Can't remember if I asked you this already. I joined, but haven't been following much and I think it's mostly transferred to FB.

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 15:31

@GreenApplesYo @AMS19 that's great thanks so much! I'm finding that too lots of wiping... loving the TMI stories though 😂🙌🏼

I've just taken an LH test and it's come back relatively strong like a 30, which is almost the highest I've seen really? Is that strange?? Could I be ovulating soon or WHAT ON EARTH is happening 😅😅😅

I'll show you my calendar to determine DPO, although I've no idea if I have yet, and the first day I counted as after my withdrawal. I actually stopped my pill the 18th? So I'm very confused...

Please can I join this thread?
I'm on my last pill packet before TTC for our first. 3 weeks left so I'll be super hormonal over new year! 🤣
I can't remember the last natural period I had, I do remember that I'm naturally all over the place with them though. Has anyone else had to deal with this? Any tips on regaining any kind of control while TTC?

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 16:01

@GreenApplesYo I'm on a FB group but not that one. I got made admin to it, nonidea why! Is the thread on the pregnancy forums? I havent looked at the pregnancy forums yet! But maybe I should also join the group, can you send me the link?

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 16:03

@drs44 given your only just off the pill I wouldnt be surprised if you were ovulating now!

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 16:14

@AMS19 I got the same result on the 11th though? Still not a peak but it's definitely the darkest I've seen it? I might test it again tonight! So strange... x

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 16:17

@DrS44 some ladies have high readings for 3/4 days before a peak! Definitely keep testing to see what is going on. Peak should be the same colour as the conotrl line, you look close but not quite there yet. I reckon it is building though....

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 16:22

@AMS19 sorry I meant the 5th 🙄 I was low yesterday! And after the 5th went low again... so strange I'll keep testing just in case xxx

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 16:24

@drs44 I think it is totally normal fresh off the pill to have lots of mini surges. Your body is still getting used to post pill and it is trying which is really good. This is why BBT is so important, so you can be sure when it actually happens. Dont worry keep testing and I reckon you'll get a good idea when you're in for a shout! Xx

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 16:34

@AMS19 thanks that's great! I need to get a proper BBT thermometer! I only have a normal one and it's quite random Xx

I've text the OH and told him he's in for a good time once he gets home 🤣🤣

GreenApplesYo · 12/11/2020 17:17

Here we go @AMS19 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/4057347-July-2021 actually I was reasurred by the recent chat with lots of people saying they don't have many symptoms yet haha. I've mainly been lurking on it.

At @DrS44 Hehe lucky OH! Fingers crossed you get a peak

Hi @dechie how much do your cycles vary? I think trying to learn your body could be a good way forward - eg monitoring cm and cervix position? Were you planning to use OPKs and basal body temps, or just go with the flow to begin with?

jessi60 · 12/11/2020 17:21

I’ve started testing on CD 7 and got a lovely stark white 0% test which I guess is to be expected. It says on my app to do twice a day for CD 10. I think I might get the clear blue one for when I’m closer or do you think it will be a waste of money? Xx

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 17:23

@jessi60 not that I've had a peak but I prefer the cheap ones because line progression is more important for LH. Then use Premom and they tell you how strong it is? Eeekkk keeping everything crossed this is your cycle xxx

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 17:23

@jessi60 I always got stark white ones!! You will probably peak out of nowhere like me. I thought the CB ones seemed like a waste of money so didn't bother. Maybe if after 2/3 months I couldn't identify my peak I would have, but given i pinpointed it fine I didn't bother

Thanks @GreenApplesYo if I get to Wednesday I'll join. Let me know if you want the link to the FB group! It is nice having that be more positive too. I took one look at the pregnancy talk, saw loads about miscarriages and closed it back down! Haha!

jessi60 · 12/11/2020 17:23

@DrS44 weird isn’t it. I didn’t think people would be from the same country never mind county haha xx

jessi60 · 12/11/2020 17:26

@DrS44 Yeah suppose I could just stick with these ones this month and maybe upgrade next month if I need to. Considering this is my first proper month. I’m just worried I’m going to see nothing on there ever 😂 drama queen at its best. I’m having a right stressful time at work and buying my house at the minute aswell so need to bloody chill out.
@AMS19 yeah maybe mine will do that aswell🤔 only time will tell I guess!

I’m using that Premom anyways to scan them in Xx

dechie · 12/11/2020 17:31

@GreenApplesYo we were just going to NTNP to begin with this will be our first and if our ages (31) are anything to go by this could be a long process!
You can monitor the cervix cm and position?? How do you do this? I was thinking of keeping it simple to begin with. Prenatal vitamins and log my cycle on an app.
Does anyone have any apps that they could recommend?
Xx

GreenApplesYo · 12/11/2020 17:35

@AMS19 gosh yes that's partly why I unfollowed the July 2021 thread. There were so many people there saying things like 'I'm terrified of another ectopic' or 'I've had 2 MC and a MMC, I hope this sticks'. I feel like I'm being terribly insensitive now even writing this because it's dreadful for people who have been through it, but it really wasn't helping with my anxiety seeing how common it is. I know it's a self-selecting sample here and there are probably more people who have sadly been unlucky than in the general population, but yes not helping the nerves. I'm also aware that maybe people just joining this thread aren't here for loads of pregnancy chat, it's more about TTC 🙂is your FB group people from mumsnet?

GreenApplesYo · 12/11/2020 17:42

@dechie the position of your cervix changes through your cycle. Basically, even you're not fertile it's lower in your vagina and feels hard like the tip of your nose. When you're in your fertile period it's higher up and softer, more like your chin or lips. You can feel it if you insert a finger into your vagina 🙂if you have a google there are lots of helpful charts to show you how it changes through the month.

With CM - lots of women have slippery fertile mucus around ovulation, known as egg white cervical mucus because it's stretchy and slippery like egg whites. Again if you have a Google there's lots of info out there about what your cm is like during your cycle.

Might be 2 things to consider for NTNP... It's not full on tracking but they're good things to tune into 🙂

I think 31 is still fairly young haha. But I am almost 36.

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 17:54

@GreenApplesYo yeah it just stressed me. Which is why I quite like the FB group as it is much more positive. People are aware of the risks but everyone stays positive which is nice. Join us!!

www.facebook.com/groups/457967405175903/?ref=share

I'm ready to leave the second I get even a glimmer of spotting 😂😂😂

My husband made a good point. He said no one goes on mumsnet to post how well things are progressing. It will only be those with problems / concerns 9/10. And I think that is so true in the pregnancy section so I think I'll stay clear....

Plus...I find all the TTC/chart chat much more interesting! We cna make our own little POAS grad group when there are a few of us and then do more positive chats on there!

dechie · 12/11/2020 17:59

@GreenApplesYo that really helpful thank you! I guess I'm going to get to know my body in a way I never thought possible!
Isn't it weird how society tells us that we must have kids by a certain time then anything past that we seem to panic?! Stupid society!! 🤣

Emmgrem · 12/11/2020 18:48

So I had my highest result on OPK this morning but back down to 0 again now. Wonder whether my baseline is 0 and that was just a mini/gradual spike in LH level. I thought it would just stay around the low level for now as I increase towards ovulation next week but perhaps mine fluctuates more than I thought.

From what you've all been saying it sounds like it's normal to be all over the place at first anyway and just means your body is at least doing/trying something! 🤷🏻‍♀️

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 18:55

@Emmgrem yeah normal for it to jump up and down. Are you making sure you aren't drinking much and holding for at least 2 hours before tests? Your body is definitely trying which is great

DrS44 · 12/11/2020 19:11

@AMS19 @GreenApplesYo update on the CM it's now EWCM 🤷🏼‍♀️ so could be 🤷🏼‍♀️ xxx

AMS19 · 12/11/2020 19:17

@DrS44 very exciting!! Have fun baby dancing tonight 😂😂
