Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

Congratulations @GreenApplesYo and @AMS19, amazing news! Gives us all hope!

AF arrived for me yesterday so I’m just willing it to go now so we can crack on with Nov TTC Grin

AMS19 · 10/11/2020 19:13

@GreenApplesYo 19th July off ovulation, 20th off LMP! We are so so close!! That
is super exciting

Ha @bells20 not at all! Had definitely thought about it. I am super short, so is my husband, so I think it will be kinda cute if it is the youngest. I'm expecting it to be a tiny little thing. Knowing my luck it will be ironic and I'll birth a 9 pound baby 😂

Thanks @sweetshopsurprise great news about the new cycle starting!

Okay...just for im clear. Where is every currently CD wise? Or DPO if you've got that far (not sure any else is in TWW???)

I'm so excited to see all your journies. And your charts! I decided today was the last day I was going to chart. Taking my temp was another fear added each morning and I want to remove as much stress as possible. So just POAS party from here on out! Im gonna miss my little FF chart!

Dex1521 · 10/11/2020 19:30

@Bells20 @DrS44 @AMS19 @GreenApplesYo so weird that people in England are the youngest in the school year. Back home (Northern Ireland) the cut off point is June 30 so July babies are the oldest 😂. We moved to the north east 3 years ago and never knew that about the school years lol

Bells20 · 10/11/2020 19:33

@GreenApplesYo good on your sister!! Just goes to show it might not make a difference after all! It's in psychology 😊

@AMS19 sounds like a good plan, don't need that extra stress! I'm CD3, counting from withdrawal bleed so maybe not a proper cycle but best I've got to go on for the time being! Just had to google the POAS acronym I've seen it a lot today but couldn't figure out what it meant 😂

Bells20 · 10/11/2020 19:39

@Dex1521 that's so interesting I had no idea it varied!! Oooh I can't imagine what life would have been like as the oldest!

Do anyone ever just get stuck with really random thoughts? Like right now I'm thinking what if someone had twins and one was born 31st aug just before midnight and the other 1st September just after midnight- would they really make them be in different school years?!? 😂

AMS19 · 10/11/2020 19:42

@Bells20 are you BBT charting? I just used the first day of my withdrawal bleed for my first chart, even though technically you aren't meant to 🤷‍♀️

AMS19 · 10/11/2020 19:43

Oh wow @Bells20 that has literally just blown my mind....what is the answer???! Im gonna have to try find out now! Ha!

DrS44 · 10/11/2020 19:51

@GreenApplesYo @Bells20 that is so funny! July must be the month as I've a PhD too 😅😅

I'm really worrying now as this back pain has turned into sciatica- panicking that I've endometriosis or something 😭😭 god I wish I could just calm my mind down 🤣🤣

Bells20 · 10/11/2020 19:53

@AMS19 yeah I was planning to, I know it probably won't be totally accurate but think it's probably helpful to get into the habit

I just asked my OH the question about twins and he told me I had too much time on my hands 😂

AMS19 · 10/11/2020 19:54

Wow if I had known this chat was full of such clever people I would never have explained checking your cervix was like finding a nose inside 🤦‍♀️

I'm a chartered accountant...no PhD for me! I feel like I should have a PhD in baby making now though!

AMS19 · 10/11/2020 19:56

@Bells20

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/education/315866-does-anyone-have-twins-in-different-school-years

Must be a musnet thing. I googled it and this was the first thing that came up 😂😂

Definitely good to chat now. Get you in the habit x

DrS44 · 10/11/2020 19:58

@AMS19 don't worry I'm a pure fraud 😂 xx

Bells20 · 10/11/2020 20:04

@DrS44 Thats funny- gotta be a summer baby overcompensation thing haha. what's yours in? I also feel like a total fraud and certain that I lack basic common sense most of the time so definitely don't identify with clever 😂😂

@AMS19 of course Mumsnet comes through!! Haha.

DrS44 · 10/11/2020 20:09

@Bells20 mine is in law ☺️ oh ya absolutely zero common sense, there's a whole part of my brain missing I'm sure 🤣 x

Emmgrem · 10/11/2020 20:33

Love that you're all talking about timings as me & OH have just been discussing this. We've got a wedding in Jamaica in September next year that has been postponed from this year due to the pandemic. So if we fall straight away we're basically forfeiting our deposit for that, but at the same time after all the uncertainty and cancelled events this year, I just think why base having children on when 2021 events are happening!? Can't put your life on hold.. anyone else thought anything similar?

Also didn't want an August baby but wanted a Sept/Oct one like some of the rest of you, but it's probably a totally irrational thing considering I know loads of clever August babies and at least they get a summer birthday party. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@AMS19 I'm also born in December and it's the worst isn't it! Everyone's either ill, or there's a Xmas party or celebration happening so you have to book people 6 months in advance to be free! I turn 30 on 4th Dec- 2 days after this lockdown is being lifted 🙈 can't plan anything, such an anti climax!

@Bells20 Ooh we are exactly the same! I'm on CD4 after withdrawal bleed so will be interesting to follow your journey.

@Dex1521 That's so interesting about Northern Ireland school years starting in July! I never knew that! Do kids still start the new school term from September though? I wonder why they do it like that..

Dex1521 · 10/11/2020 20:45

@Emmgrem yeah the term started in September so July oldest - June youngest meaning in primary 1 at the start of the term some kids in the class have just turned 5 in the July whereas some students have only turned 4 in June. We also don’t do reception and our secondary schools are year 8 (first year) to 14 (final a level year). Years 7s are primary school. That always confused me when people talk about their kids going into year 7 and if being all new etc 😂 I’ve no idea why it’s so different to England’s education system Northern Ireland never did like to play by the rules 🤭

CardioQueen · 10/11/2020 21:04

@Emmgrem I will most likely be forfeiting my brother's wedding if we fall pregnant without issue in the next 5 months. It's in Spain and I live in Australia. I decided same as you - I can't put my life on hold for events that may or may not happen in 2021. I'm already 33! Plus our borders are indefinitely locked down so we can't leave the country without a government exemption and have to pay for hotel quarantine on return. They said to expect not to travel to US or Europe until end of 2021 🤷🏻‍♀️ so if that was still in place we wouldn't go anyway.

Wayyyy too much to catch up on here but very excited for everyone TTC this month. I will start my OPKs again today even though I don't expect to ovulate for about 2 weeks. Nothing like driving yourself slowly insane 😂

CardioQueen · 10/11/2020 21:27

Not to freak people out, but a friend of my best friend was due last week, her waters broke 2 days ago and she has been having contractions for 26 hours and still isn't near the 10cm mark dilated 😱😱

jessi60 · 11/11/2020 04:55

Sorry I can’t keep up with everything been on stupid night shifts so just getting a chance to quickly read through things. My friend at work just told me she’s pregnant.. feel likes it’s all around me at the minute but guess it’s because I’m more aware 😂 she simply said she used an ovulation predictor online and typed in her cycle length etc and used them dates to predict and it worked first time. Nice and easy for some haha! 🧐

jessi60 · 11/11/2020 04:56

@Emmgrem I’m CD6 today my first proper period after my withdrawal x

jessi60 · 11/11/2020 05:00

I keep panicking about my age aswell and that I should of bloody had my implant out sooner. I’m probably being ridiculous though. Can’t help but compare myself to every friend who’s Atleast got one child 😂 X

GreenApplesYo · 11/11/2020 08:03

@CardioQueen ha yes, I got the BFP and then was like, oh crap now I have to squeeze a child out through my vagina. Not that I am really complaining of course, it just seems like such a crazy thing to do haha.

@jessi60 remind me how old you are again? 🙂

GreenApplesYo · 11/11/2020 08:08

@DrS44 any updates on testing or are you waiting until tomorrow? x

jessi60 · 11/11/2020 08:27

@GreenApplesYo 27. I know it’s technically not old but think it’s because everyone around me had children at like 23 xx

GreenApplesYo · 11/11/2020 08:46

@jessi60 aww you've got loads of time 🙂Also I think 23 sounds young when you are 27, but the difference is only 4 years which is nothing really! The important thing is to do it at the right time for you.
