Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

Hello! How are you all? Love the cervix positioning talk!! Never heard of how to look for it before but I might try next week and see if I can find my nose 🤣😂
Still spotting over here and expecting AF to arrive tonight. Cramps have started, I've had a chocolate brownie for breakfast and ate half a loaf of bread yesterday 🤣
Great to see you still have a line @AMS19 Hopefully all your tracking and research has paid off! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Haha the spring is so good @CardioQueen 😄 I'm heading into my Winter and boy can I feel it!! When you think of your cycle in season terms, it all make sense doesn't it. I tell my DP "I'm in the Winter of my Cycle' and he understands completely 😄

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 18:51

@PowerOfFlowers hey! Has Af arrived? Fingers crossed she stays away! Ha I love how much we can eat when we are due on. Due on and hangover and I will eat everything in sight. When I have both together, well that is dangerous!

PowerOfFlowers · 08/11/2020 20:27

No @AMS19 it hasn't arrived. I've been feeling like it has all day but nothing. I also can't stop eating today either. I've been craving Crunchy Nut Cornflakes (I don't eat cereal 🤷🏻‍♀️)
How are you doing??

BOWWOW89 · 08/11/2020 20:33

Hey girls please can I join? Will be trying for baby no. 2 from 16 Nov (will get enhanced maternity again after this date). Don’t really know where to start with TTC as our first was a surprise. I came off the pill early September and just had my first period. Do I need OPKs and to measure my temperature? Arghh so many things to learn about!! Smile

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 20:33

@PowerOfFlowers have you tested?? Weird cravings could be a good sign?!
I'm good thank you! Can't believe it is Monday again tomorrow...sigh. but at least gone are the days of going into the office when it is cold and dark. So used to working from home cant imagine going back now!

PowerOfFlowers · 08/11/2020 20:39

No I haven't tested today @AMS19 if it hasn't arrived by Tuesday then i'll test but I'm having all my usual AF symptoms and i'm Cycle day 35 tomorrow which is when I usually expect it to arrive.
I know, week has gone quick. I'm the same as you - I haven't been in the office since March. I'm actually really enjoying working from home, much more than I thought I would Smile

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 20:47

@PowerOfFlowers I've got everything crossed for you! Im going to hold off testing tomorrow and test again Tuesday as well so 🤞🤞🤞 for both of us xx

PowerOfFlowers · 08/11/2020 21:04

Thanks @AMS19 and for you too!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

DrS44 · 08/11/2020 22:35

@BOWWOW89 welcome! I'm only starting my journey too really! But BBT body basal temperature is what you record every morning - with a digital thermometer! Then OPKs are ovulation tests that can predict ovulation due to a rise in a hormone in your body 24-36 hours before! Premom is a good app for these and the easy at home sticks are cheap. Lots to learn for me too, but starting to get to grips! The posters on here are super knowledgable and helpful so you'll soon be up to speed ☺️ xxx

DrS44 · 08/11/2020 22:40

@BOWWOW89 I found the glow app really helpful (albeit quite messy to navigate)! It has lots of handy, and quite funny, articles on things like BBT, cervical mucus, OPK testing etc! Xxx

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 22:46

@BOWWOW89 welcome! Definitely join us ☺️ we're all kind of muddling our way through it but I personally think a thermometer to measure BBT and OPKs are super useful. Knowing if/when you've ovulated is a pretty important part of the process. The app fertility friend (you'll see written as FF in here) is really great, makes it a lot easier to track what is going on with your body! How have your cycles been since stopping the pill?

AMS19 · 09/11/2020 06:26

@BOWWOW89 welcome!! You absolutely don't have to do anything! But without tracking you won't know when you will ovulate. The apps will guess based on statistics- e.g. if you have a 30 day cycle they will assume you ovulate day 15. But if you really want to know then OPK testing and BBT charting is the only way! You could always stop after a month or two if you don't fall, as the apps will get to know you by then and be more precise.

I also highly recommend FF! That is what I use. Use premom for scanning in your OPK results though as they are fab for showing progression and highlighting when it is high/peak!

PowerOfFlowers · 09/11/2020 09:13

AF has arrived. My last cycle was 34 days long. Brand new cycle now - excited to see what happens now I know what and how to track everything.
How you doing this morning @AMS19 ?
Welcome @BOWWOW89! I came off the pill last year and waited a year to start ttc. How old is your DC? Exciting for you all!

AMS19 · 09/11/2020 09:20

Morning @PowerOfFlowers 34 days is a decent length! What was your LP? Do you know? You've totally got this! I reckon you'll smash it this cycle!

Not too bad. The nausea is pretty bad and getting worse, but I'm totally down for it if it means something is happening. Probably the only time feeling sick is great 😂😂 temp stayed high and so far no AF. I didnt test this morning, will test again tomorrow with a FRER and CB digital it AF stays away

Bells20 · 09/11/2020 09:42

@BOWWOW89 I'm still learning too and people on here are just so helpful, really a fountain of knowledge! I'd second what others have said about using a BBT thermometer and OPKs, I'm still so new to it and getting used to it myself but seems like a really great way to get to know what your body's doing. Premom is great for scanning OPKs, I use the easy@home ones from amazon and fertility friend is a great app for the charts. I came off the pill early October and just having AF now.

@PowerOfFlowers sorry to hear AF has arrived, here's to the next cycle 🤞🏻I'm feeling a similar way, like I've got to grips with tracking a bit more I'm excited to do it all properly and see what happens!

@AMS19 I don't think I've ever been so pleased to hear that someone's feeling sick 😂 will definitely be checking back in tomorrow morning and keeping my fingers crossed for you!

PowerOfFlowers · 09/11/2020 10:21

Yes I hope so @AMS19 😀 According to my app, my LP was 13 days this cycle.
Ooh sickness!! First time ever I'm like YAY for sickness!! 🤣
Thanks @Bells20 😀 I'm not feeling too disheartened to be honest - its good to know that everything's working and what I'm experiencing is normal. Now I've got all this knowledge I've learnt over the last cycle, it can help me this time round. I also use Premom and easy@home ones for OPKs 😀
What time in the day do you all test OPKs?

Bells20 · 09/11/2020 10:36

@PowerOfFlowers that's a good approach to have, I'm trying to hold that in mind too but my goodness I'd forgotten how much I hate AF after not having one for a few years 😂. I've just invested in some period pants so I'll see how I get on with those! Hmm I'm really not sure I was using them properly last cycle, I read afternoon is best so I was trying to do them around 3pm but then saw people saying it should be with a strong wee. I drink about 29492627495 litres of water a day so have very hydrated wee haha not sure if that made a difference. But then when I started getting more positive results I was testing 2-3 times a day to try and catch a peak. How were you doing OPKs?

PowerOfFlowers · 09/11/2020 10:56

Haha I feel you!! I was on the pill since I was 19 and came off them at 34. The last year has been a huge learning curve of getting to know by body again. So weird isn't it?!
How are you finding period pants? Have you tried them yet? I bought a Vidacup (basically a Mooncup) last month and now I'm using that in the day and pads at night. I feel like I'm doing my own little thing to help the environment ☺️
I was testing OPKs with my first pee, but I might move it to 3-4pm then or just do morning and afternoon for this cycle... Hahaha I drink 3ltrs a day too and pee a LOT!!

GreenApplesYo · 09/11/2020 10:59

Hi everyone. Welcome @BOWWOW89 🙂

Ah that's good about your temps @AMS19 good you're feeling queasy too (haha! It sounds so weird saying that). I haven't really had any nausea yet, just a funny feeling like my tummy is really heavy and sloshy after a meal. Uncomfortable.

@PowerOfFlowers glad you're feeling positive and ready for a new cycle. @bells20 I was testing at 3pm after a 2hr hold. I tend to drink quite a lot too, so the 2hr hold felt unnatural. But I reckon even if your wee is quite diluted you'd still get a darker line than normal if your LH is at peak - I guess if you see that you just try not to drink much and test again in a few hours?

DrS44 · 09/11/2020 11:53

@AMS19 eekkk that's great that you're feeling sick 😂😂 don't think I've ever said that before!

I'm having mild cramps again and lower back pain! It must mean AF is on the way, just really not used to this feeling after so many years on the pill!

AMS19 · 09/11/2020 12:00

@bells20 @PowerOfFlowers @GreenApplesYo @DrS44

Ha! Thanks ladies! Yay for feeling sick! 🤢🤞

BTW I learnt something today I didn't know so sharing in case helpful. The CB digitals, with the dates, show the date from conception not from your first period like the doctors date it. So if you test on morning on period due date you should expect a 1-2 weeks result!

Happythoughts91 · 09/11/2020 16:09

Hi guys. I had my implant out then had a withdrawal bleed. I am now on CD 4 and af came 28 days exactly since my withdrawal bleed. Never been so happy to see a period! So hopefully I’ll stay regular and within this time frame. When is it best to start ovulation tests? Xx

jessi60 · 09/11/2020 16:56

@DrS44 sorry I’ve been crap with responding been at work constantly and now on a run of 4 night shifts.

I’ve just responded in the post above which was meant for someone else so just ignore that 😂 but I basically got my period. 4 days ago! So 28 days since my withdrawal bleed. So suppose that’s good! Hope your doing ok. Just trying to read and catch up xx

Dex1521 · 09/11/2020 17:06

Hi can I join? ☺️ I’ve been off the mini pill (cerazette) since 28th October and had no withdrawal bleed or period yet which is frying my head as I’m so impatient 🥴.

Before it I had the implant for the 3 years until it expired then had a month of nothing then the mini pill. I remember having a withdrawal bleed/heavy spotting in that month between but when I started mini pills I haven’t had a period since. I’ve been on the mini pill for 14months.

Me and my OH also not telling anyone we are TTC baby #1 as don’t want constant questions etc would rather just surprise everyone when it does happen.

Anyone else been on the mini pill and have any experiences of it?
