Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

@Bells20 I know it might seem frustrating but honestly it is fab to get your first proper period so soon! I know many girls have waited months. You are now totally prepared for this cycle, know exactly what you are doing. You've got this!

GreenApplesYo · 08/11/2020 08:20

@AMS19 great your temps have gone back up! This is like the surprise twist at the end of your cycle story hehe. I know what you mean about wishing you didn't know what a chemical pregnancy is. Fwiw, at 12-14dpo I was having very mild cramps and that sort of 'fanny ache' feeling I only have on AF - an ache in the vagina? Seems to have gone now, haven't had it for a few days. So it did feel like being on AF sometimes.

My AF always seems to start in the middle of the night so I spend the few nights before with pad in my pants just in case. Sexy!

@bells20 sorry about AF! That is disappointing at 9dop. At least you're at the start of a fresh cycle now, hopefully you'll ovulate soon. And yes! Caffeine mmmm.

@CardioQueen ohh how does coming out of lockdown feel? What are cases like where you are? Lockdown is different here this time. It doesn't feel as quiet on the streets this time. Last time round it was sooo quiet, I could go for an evening walk and maybe 5-6 cars would pass me on a 4 mile circuit.

Bells20 · 08/11/2020 08:25

@AMS19 thank you, really appreciate that! And I totally agree, after my initial disappointment I'm feeling excited now to get my body back to normal and feeling in a better position for the coming month!

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 08:29

@GreenApplesYo thanks that is super helpful to know. I get the "bubble" feeling, like I've actually come on. Must be air 😂😂😂😂 now I just need to pray AF stays away and hold of testing again until Tuesday. Then I'll use a CD digital too. I think I will need to spelt out to me in words if I get that far! Ha!

GreenApplesYo · 08/11/2020 08:36

@AMS19 hahah the bubble feeling - yep!
Have you checked your cervix btw? Tuesday isn't too far away really 🙂hope it goes quickly and AF stays away.

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 08:44

@GreenApplesYo funny you asked...I checked this morning! To be honest I'm not great at doing it. I've done it 3 times ever. But it is really high and hard as of this morning which I think is good?! I only learnt about this when I was ovulating and it was quite fascinating, one day It was hard, the next day all soft. Gross if you think about it really, prodding away in there 😂

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 08:51

@GreenApplesYo omg I always get an ache in my vagina when I have AF and i asked my friend one time if she did and she was like 'erm what? No.' And since then I haven't asked anyone else as I thought it was weird 😂

It is extremely relieving. In our state we have now had 0 cases for 9 days. We've had one of the longest and strictest lockdowns in the world so I know that'll seem mental when cases in Europe haven't been near that at any point. When I spoke to my family back home a little while ago we were still in strict lockdown and having

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 08:53

@AMS19 I still haven't actually tried feeling mine, I feel like I won't know if I'm even prodding the right part?! It's not like I sometimes accidentally touch my cervix.

May94 · 08/11/2020 08:53

Thanks for the info @GreenApplesYo, @AMS19 & @CardioQueenguessing I will just keep testing then and try and be patient! If I started my Cycle from my withdrawal bleed then I only had a 25 day cycle and ovulated roughly on day 14 or 15.

@AMS19 🤞for you!!

@CardioQueen how long have you been off contraception for now? I hope your cycles become more regular. It’s so frustrating not knowing what is happening with your body but hopefully it will all settle down for you soon.

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 08:56

@May94 I stopped microgynon at the end of July, so only just over 3 months - I know it can easily take that for the body to settle. I also got very stressed the week before I expected to ovulate last cycle. It's hard to know if that played a part or not. At this point I think a bit of patience on my part is called for and I need to see how this cycle and the next (unless I fall v lucky) go. But that is easier said than done...! 🤯

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 08:59

@CardioQueen I literally sat on the toilet with Google trying to figure it out. Someone said it feels like the end of your nose when closed and it does! That was how I found it (well...I hope it is my cervix 😂😂😂). Then when I was ovulating I tried again and it felt more "spongy" ha! Now it is nose like again but feels higher than before. I dont have the longest fingers so that doesn't help 😂😂😂

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 09:01

@AMS19 ok I am going to have to try and find this nose in my vagina so I can see if changes at ovulation 😂😂

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 09:02

Good luck!! 🤞👃😂

DrS44 · 08/11/2020 09:10

Hi @AMS19 I meant to say I also use the glo app for BBT. Does this chart look better? I've just downloaded FF but looks like you've to sign up? I have too many apps I need to start deleting 😂

TTC cycle 1 (just come off pill) for #1
GreenApplesYo · 08/11/2020 09:11

@AMS19 it's good it feels high! Haha not having the longest fingers.

Tbh not sure how helpful checking is unless you're really consistent? I did check around the time I ovulated and it was interesting to feel the change before and after ovulation. But I think temps and opks are more reliable. @CardioQueen at first I was like, what the hell do I not have a cervix? But once you feel it, it's easy enough to find again.

I haven't checked it since I got the BFP because it doesn't seem right to be poking around up there (but having said that I did just tell DP that sex is 'back on the table', haha)

@CardioQueen wow your lockdown sounds intense! But, amazing there haven't been any cases near you for a little while. It's a bit of a mess here really! Not that I would necessarily want a strict lockdown for months on end - who would - but the lack of consistency/ability to get organised has been a problem.

lambo88 · 08/11/2020 09:11

@Bells20 I think as long as u have ur first period u can get caught...we brought the clear blue ovulation tests with the smiley faces as I had no idea when I was ovulating and they were fab xxx

Bells20 · 08/11/2020 09:12

Seriously appreciating the cervical position chat, I noticed it's on the apps to track that but honestly had no idea where to start or what I was looking for. I will also be looking out for my inner nose and sponge later this month haha

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 09:15

@DrS44 that looks better to monitor. FF is definitely free...I might have "signed up" maybe but I have never paid anything for it. But this chart will do the job fine. So looking at those temps you haven't ovulated yet I would say

@greenapplesyo yeah im not going to check again, can't be good! I was just intrigued early but staying well away for now...in terms of DTD, I was thinking of waiting until 5 weeks if I get that far. No idea why, literally no science behind it 😂

DrS44 · 08/11/2020 09:16

@AMS19 all of this mornings conversations only loaded after my comment 🙄

Ohhh I think it looks promising! I mean the packages say no matter how faint the line and that's pretty prominent especially on a picture! Keeping everything crossed for you 🙊 xxxx

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 09:16

@CardioQueen @Bells20 I'm going to be seriously freaked out now if no ones else's feels like a nose 😂😂

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 09:17

Thank you @drs44 xxx

DrS44 · 08/11/2020 09:19

@AMS19 ya I don't think I have!! Thanks for your help!

@GreenApplesYo I had no idea about this cervix malarkey 😂 probably for the best as it I'm already imagining other signs and symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️😅 xxx

GreenApplesYo · 08/11/2020 09:22

@AMS19 haha no mine feels like a nose as well 😂

CardioQueen · 08/11/2020 09:28

@GreenApplesYo this will be me at the doctors. Hello yes I think my cervix is missing please confirm

@Bells20 let me know if you find yours! @AMS19 I'll report back on it feeling like a nose...👃🏻(how weird is this nose emoji? Looks very little like a nose?)

@GreenApplesYo yes our lockdown was so full on. I am definitely grateful we're in this position now of course, but it comes at a huge economic and personal sacrifice - lots of mental health issues to be tackled now. Our aim was to reduce the virus to lowest levels possible, whereas UK is to try prevent NHS from being completely overwhelmed, so hopefully yours will be nothing like ours.

AMS19 · 08/11/2020 11:00

@CardioQueen that actually made me proper laugh out loud!
