TTC cycle 1 (just come off pill) for #1

Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

@AMS19 that’s fantastic, and at least you know exactly what is happening for you, when you ovulated, how long LP is! Loving the positivity! 😊 Roll on our next cycles! 😂🤞🏼

@positivitytree2020 100% we've got this!! And can compare our fancy charts too 😂😂 i would definitely reccomend fertility friend if you're charting BBT. And use premom to scan in your OPKs but then update FF with the results. So much easier to see it all laid out. This is my chart so far from this cycle

Hello! I think I'm also out for this month as I've had very light spotting this afternoon which is usual for me 2-3 days before AF arrives. I also have no patience today and so snappy so it makes sense 🤣
Will test tomorrow morning just in case though. If BFN, then I'll enjoy steak and red wine tomorrow night!
Looks like the three of us @AMS19 @positivitytree2020 are cycle buddies then 😀

Sorry to hear that @PowerOfFlowers but if AF holds off for another 2 or 3 days that is a fab LP length 👏👏👏

Yes! I feeling super determined for the next cycle. This being my first proper one felt like I was totally winging it. I feel like I've got the hang of it now and can be more prepared. And can also ignore the millions of "symptoms" that are clearly being driven by the hormones not being pregnant itself 🙄

@Happythoughts91 how you getting on?

@GreenApplesYo did you refer yourself over to the midwives? You need to be our little advice guru given you're our first BFP and ahead of us!

Hi @AMS19 glad to hear you're feeling prepared for a new cycle. I felt like the first one was a steep learning curve too!

I sent off my self-referral form this morning and was really impressed to have a reply within a few hours. My first appointment is on the 25th Nov so really not long to wait. They also asked me to download an app which I'll be able to use for storing my notes etc. It also has loads of info in there about how to look after a baby which is great as I'm clueless haha. I did feel weird sending off my form, a mix of 'is this real?' and 'I hope I don't jinx it', it's still so early. I also asked my Dr's surgery about a flu jab as they are recommended, but they have run out because of covid! The receptionist said to see if the midwife can do it.

@PowerOfFlowers sorry about the spotting. Good plan with the steak and wine if AF comes, that's a silver lining at least.

Am I allowed to hang out on this thread a little longer then? 🙂Hehe I want to see how you guys get on.

@AMS19 thanks for the suggestions I just downloaded those apps. I now have 3 apps (I had been using Clue) 😂 the FF one looks super confusing though with all the various stuff in it haha!

@PowerOfFlowers great to have a few of us at the exact same point of our cycles! 😃 I feel the exact same as you today, super cranky & snappy! Didn’t help my mood when I saw the spotting! 😂 took a test just to be sure it wasn’t implantation bleeding, but BFN so guess AF is on the way as expected! 😂

Omg @GreenApplesYo you absolutely HAVE to stay!! We totally need to hear about every step of the journey. Hopefully we will only be a month or two behind so we can then compare notes and stay in touch all the way through! After going through this experience together you can't just all walk away 😂😂😂 that all sound super exciting and super real. I would be absolutely bricking it 😂😂 im glad we have you to be the one who goes first...

I'll be honest I hadn't thought much past a positive pregnancy test, I wouldn't know where to start with booking appointments and so on @GreenApplesYo I'll definitely be checking back in regularly to see how you get on! Glad your appointment isn't too far away!

@AMS19 thank you for mentioning FF I'm really enjoying seeing my chart on the app (and seeing other people's too on here!) My data is probably all nonsense as I haven't had a proper cycle yet and only recently started charting properly but like seeing it nonetheless.

By way of a slight update, I had the teeny tiniest bit of spotting today 7dpo, I've been crampy all week (autocorrect changed that to cranky which is also true haha) and cried this morning when I saw an advert for H&M featuring a newborn baby. Hormones! Now to convince myself not to do anymore silly far-too-early testing for a few more days!

@Bells20 the spotting sounds promising!! 7DPO is way too early for AF so that is definitely a very good sign!!
Glad you're enjoying FF...I do love charting! For me it actually makes this all more fun and I feel more in control, even though clearly I'm absolutely not 😂

@AMS19 100% I need to feel in control too lol probably why I like the app. I thought the same about the spotting although I haven't had any bleed since coming off the pill so I'm a bit wary of having any kind of cycle right now. 🤞🏻 though!

What are people's thoughts on giving up caffeine while TTC. Sorry if I've missed this being discussed already. I'm def a coffee addict and had switched to decaf recently but I'm dyyyyyying for a proper toffee nut latte!

@Bells20 I've switched to decaf (😭😭😭) but had the odd latte here and there! I have had had a couple of drinks. Then after I took the test Wednesday which was a BFN I got totally smashed 😂😂

Hello to the newbies. And lovely to see your getting on well @GreenApplesYo. @AMS19 sorry to hear it was a negative. I was the same with the symptoms. I’m on cycle day 6 now and I feel being on my second cycle I know what to expect symptom wise etc.

I feel different about it all this month. I don’t know why, very strange. Last month, I was so so excited being the first month. But now if I’m honest I’m just taking it with a pinch of salt and an almost like I can’t be bothered attitude Lol 😂🙈 God knows why. I think it’s because I’ve heard so many stories on how it’s taken people so so long I’ve given up hope already 😂 hopefully give it a few days and as I start approaching ovulation 🤞🏻 Fingers crossed I’ll start to get excited again.
I think it’s very much along the lines too I don’t want to keep getting my hopes up. Xx

@happythoughts91 great to hear from you! Glad the new cycle is going well. I'm super ready and excited to get started on mine. What tracking are you doing? Or going to just leave it all relaxed again?

I totally get that. I'm excited to chart and have a go again but not got my hopes up!

@GreenApplesYo do you have a picture on what your line looked at on 12DPO? Was it still a squinter or much stronger?

@AMS19 if you do, it's maybe not time to worry yet about it being faint. Some people don't yet a BFP until after period is due? I think the important thing is it gets darker? x

@greenapplesyo oh wow yes yours is very strong! Hmmm.....if it is super light does that mean it could be a chemical?

@AMS19 I don't know. Do you have a photo? 🙂I think if keeps getting darker every few days then it's unlikely it's a chemical. Was it FMU? You could try again this evening after doing a hold. Or you could try testing again in a few days if AF doesn't come.

Did you say you'd been having cramps btw?

My temp massively dropped last night and I feel pretty sure I'm about to come on so not holding out any hope. I only took it so I could totally put my mind at rest and wait nicely for AF 🤦‍♀️ it was second FMU - ha im making up new terms now. I got up at 5am and went. This was at 9am but hadn't drunk anything and was very strong /dark yellow. I dont have a great feeling about it. I wonder if I was pregnant and now I'm not. Anyway, I'll take it as a positive I was able to get pregnant I guess! And now wait not patiently

My BBT fell off a cliff today so not a good sign at all! Assumed this riled me out totally. Way too late for implantation dip

@AMS19 oh gosh I'm sorry. It doesn't look like an evap, does it? It's definitely there. But not great that your temp dropped. How bloody confusing for you. Are you OK?

Whatever happens yes, it's a sign you can get pregnant and if it's not to be this month, it might work out next month.

@AMS19 sorry don't mean to be negative about it, it might turn into a BFP... Just I know it must be confusing and possibly a bit stressful atm? x
