Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

@DrS44 yeah, like that FRER confuses me everytime I see it. I just end up writing first response 😂 some people say BD aswell for sex, stands for baby dance 😂 Xx

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 15:53

Hahah @jessi60 I like BD 😂 that’s funny!

I’ve ordered so many sticks now- let’s hope we get lucky!

AMS19 · 03/11/2020 15:53

@jessi60 I think the FRER is because you can get first response rapid response which are a lot less sensitive and reliable! But agree...mist are just odd. Although find myself talking it them all the time on here by habit!

GreenApplesYo · 03/11/2020 15:55

@jessi60 I found myself using it really quickly even though I'd never say those things in real life. I've never said, "darling partner, let's do the deed"!

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 15:56

@AMS19 oo see I didn’t know that.

@DrS44 yeah some of them are abit confusing but you just pick it up, sometimes I feel like I’ll be judged for not using them😂 x

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 15:57

@GreenApplesYo haha or can we baby dance. Imagine the reaction 😂

GreenApplesYo · 03/11/2020 15:57

@DrS44 na, feel free to write however you want to 🙂whatever works for you

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 18:08

@AMS19 oohhh did not know that! Just checked and I’ve ordered the FRER one yay 👏🏻 What did you try today @jessi60 xxx

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 18:46

@DrS44 it was a clear blue one, but their 6 day early one so suppose it’s like the equivalent to the first response sensitivity wise, well I think it will be. I mean I might not be totally ruled out cause I could have ovulated this month on a total different day. But then again might not of 😂

I do feel like something is happening. Probably af as my boobs are really tender and I’ve never had this before, and they feel quite hard. I had breast implants like 4 years ago and not had a period in that time so don’t know how my boobs would feel 😂 but there’s deffo something different about them. And I’ve just got a couple of spots on my chin which is normally hormonal and I never get spots. Even if it’s my period I’ll be happy as it might show things are returning to normal 🤞🏼xxx

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 18:52

Ya I’m the same as you! Have you got a few tests? Suppose can try again in a few days and see?

Ya I’m the same, I was getting like shooting pains down the side of my boob? Very strange! And then the cramps- like what are they if I’m not ovulating? Something is happening anyway! But as you say if it’s a period that’s good too and at least you can start the OPKs properly then and you’ll know when you’re ovulating! Eekkk it’s exciting isn’t it?! So easy to get carried away too though! I am far too impatient it’s only been over 2 weeks since I stopped 😂😂😂

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 19:20

@DrS44 yeah it is all so exciting! Would love some good news at the moment. I was just thinking how crap it is at the moment with lock down again, not being able to see people. And my work is crazy cause I’m a nurse. So abit of positive news would be lovely and something to focus one Not knowing is the worst but then I feel like a right tit for winging on when this is my first month and I read all the stories of people trying for ages. Must be so difficult.

Yeah the pains are a weird one aren’t they. I’m convinced mine are psychological 😂

Be lovely to be able to come on here with updates and even good news! 🤞🏼🥰Xx.

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 19:26

@jessi60Aww ya god I can’t even imagine!
Lockdown is just ughhh- but it’s also the perfect time to be pregnant - so another reason to want it to happen quickly 😂
Yeah same here postponed our wedding twice, very fed up so good news would be amazing!

So funny it’s like you’re living my life I feel the same 😂 where am I going thinking it’s going to happen so quickly when some people take years 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pains are so strange, I think if we both have similar maybe it’s related to contraception? Or maybe we both got pregnant straight away 😂 never know 😅

Let’s keep each other posted and positive! Xxx

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 20:42

@DrS44 yeah! Although with my job.. I don’t experience any perks of being off work for a little bit 🙄😂

Aw sorry to here about your wedding. Hope it does work out for yous 🤞🏼

I wish I got my implant out sooner now, I kept putting it off 😂xxx

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 21:02

Yaaa same I’m a lecturer so we are still plodding away! Lots online though so not half as difficult as you on the frontline!

I know, same, wish we made the decision sooner 😂 but we will get there! Xxx

DrS44 · 03/11/2020 21:03

Sorry never tagged @jessi60
I really don’t like this layout/functionality! It’s very 00s could do with a bit of modernisation!! 🙄😂

AMS19 · 03/11/2020 21:49

Here is some interesting facts on FRERs:

In laboratory testing, First Response Early Results Pregnancy Test detected hormone levels consistent with pregnancy in 76% of women 6 days before the day of missed period, in 96% of women 5 days before the day of missed period, and in >99% of women 4 or fewer days before the day of missed period.

AMS19 · 03/11/2020 21:49

@CardioQueen @Happythoughts91 how you ladies doing today?

jessi60 · 03/11/2020 23:14

@DrS44 yeah it’s very dated. Wonder if the app is any better?

@AMS19 yeah that’s quite interesting. I’ve been reading a lot about the early tests and how a lot of people think they shouldn’t be allowed on the market as it causes a lot of stress and unnecessary worry when people have chemical pregnancies because without these early tests you wouldn’t know about it. Was interesting to read X

CardioQueen · 04/11/2020 00:10

Hello! @AMS19

I’m good today, still very excited to be in a new cycle 😂 bit of a lull between here and starting up the OPKs again as only CD5 atm. Picked up some B complex vitamins yesterday just for good measure!

I have a couple of questions - how low are people’s BBT before ovulation? Mine can be as low as 35.9, this seems very cold for a human?!

I see lots of these FRER pregnancy tests being thrown around. Do people ever use those digital ones that just say pregnant or not pregnant (or even how many weeks) once they’re past the point that AF was due?

CardioQueen · 04/11/2020 00:27

@jessi60 didn't even know there was an app! Have just downloaded it and can confirm it is better, definitely less '00s.

AMS19 · 04/11/2020 06:33

@CardioQueen I'm the opposite im super hot - my pre-ovulatiom temps are like 36.6-36.7 🙄 i don't think there is a right or wrong, you are looking for a pattern rather than specific temperature!

AMS19 · 04/11/2020 06:34

@PowerOfFlowers any updates????

GreenApplesYo · 04/11/2020 07:24

Hello @CardioQueen my lowest temp was 36.3. I think anything above 35.5 and under 37.5 is normal. Sure I've read that somewhere 🙂

I think the digital ones are slightly less sensitive than the FRERs or CB early. But not by that much, so they are probably fine to use if you wait until AF is due? I think people like the FRERs over other blue dye tests because the pink dye is harder to mistake for an evap line.

@AMS19 how are your temps looking? Are you 9dpo now? x

I've stopped temping from this morning. Temps went up a little on 13 and 14dpo, thought I'd leave it now.

@jessi60 yes I've got some doubts about how ethical the FRERs are too. Without the early tests maybe it would be easier to relax during the 2ww, without the idea of testing early playing on your mind. If you test early, chances are you're going to do several more tests to see if the line gets darker, it's a good way to make us paranoid and spend more on tests! And yes fairly often it'll be a chemical pregnancy which is heartbreaking for couples, especially if they have been trying a long time. I still used them though haha! No self control.
