Hello!

Im in my first month of trying with my partner of 12 years. With wedding plans up in the air due to covid we decided we didn’t want to put our lives on hold any more so here we are!

I came off the pill, had my withdrawal bleed and now in the two week wait until next week when I can test.

I guess I just wanted to come on here and see if anyone else is new to trying too. Or people who can give light in how long it took them to conceive after coming off the pill.

We haven’t told no one we’re trying so I feel like I haven’t got no one to talk too about it all. Trying to stay positive and would love to have a happy ending to 2020.

Sending baby dust to you all xxx

@CardioQueen hooray! Haha feels weird cheering that AF has arrived 🙂but must be such a relief to know your body is going in the right direction.

Erk have the UK people seen the lockdown news? Wonder what the restrictions will be.

Pretty wet and windy here this morning! Think it's definitely a Netflix kind of Saturday...

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 10:14

Morning ladies. Eeek I know @GreenApplesYo I'm not surprised at all. Such a miserable day in London too. How you feeling?

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 10:24

Hehe no not a huge surprise. I wonder if I will be back at work for 2 days and then off again haha.

I'm doing OK thanks. Tiny bit crampy like very mild period pains but apparently this is OK and normal. No spotting or anything. Weirdly, my boobs seem to be getting bigger already! (have I mentioned this already? sorry if I have haha) I'm a b so any change is quite noticeable. I would love it if they stayed bigger but apparently they don't. Planning to do a FRER this evening, I hope the line is stronger. Was thinking I will test until around 14dpo and then stop.

Went for a walk in the woods yesterday afternoon with DP. It was the first time since I got the positive test that we had a long talk about being pregnant and the baby coming in the summer. We're still being cautious as it's such early days, but it's starting to feel more real. Think when I get past the point my period would have been due (tues/weds) I'll give the Dr a call and see what the procedure is.

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 10:48

It is so exciting @greenapplesyo .y understanding it now with everything you just have to self refer to your nearest maternity unit. I can imagine though once you start talking about it it all seems for real.
I'm meeting my mum later and am going to use an excuse of being hungover as to why I'm only having one drink. My temp shot up today, which was very unexpected. But after doing lots of research seems not massively uncommon, so fingers crossed. I'm only 5DPO...why is time going so slowly 😂😂

PowerOfFlowers · 31/10/2020 15:01

I know how you feel @CardioQueen - when AF comes after coming off the pill, its nice to know everything works! Thats exactly how I felt! New cycle for you now - new goals and mindset 😀

I sympathise @AMS19 - time is going so slowly! I'm similar to you, around 4/5 dpo! Good to have a dpo friend 🤣

I've woken up moody today, but this is how I usually am in the last two weeks! Done the last day of the 28 day challenge and I've lost 10 inches and just under half a stone. So happy with this result! 💪🏼 had a bad night sleep so hoping tonight will be better. We're off out tonight for what might be the last meal out for quite some time if lockdown comes next week!

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 15:03

@AMS19 ohh interesting. Mine went up at 5dpo as well. It was my highest - 36.9. Seem to have settled at 36.8 since then.

Aw have a nice time with your Mum. Are you close with your family?

Yes, it looks like you can just email a form to the midwife... Think when it's time, I will give my GP surgery a call to double check. I am guessing the receptionist will know what the deal is 🙂

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 15:09

@PowerOfFlowers I found 5 dpo onwards awful. I think I was pretty moody as well. Before that I was just happy I'd ovulated haha. Always feel a bit guilty if I wake up in a bad mood, dp is always so cheery.

Yes, will be interesting to see what Boris says later!

Was it steak and wine you're having? Yum 🙂well done with the weight loss, that's brilliant. Will you be starting a new challenge/plan?

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 15:35

@PowerOfFlowers oh didn't realise you were the same. Yes great we are the same time! Im also in a foul mood. My husband showered for 10 minutes and is pissed me off beyond belief 😂😂

@greenapplesyo yeah super close to my family. My mum, brother and me are super close. Luckily it isnt too cold outside! My temp is 36.99 now! Very warm...

Im enjoying a large glass of red wine guilt free! I just can't bring myself to stop until I know I need to!

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 15:36

Oh and well done on the weight loss @PowerOfFlowers that is absolutely amazing!! Xx

PowerOfFlowers · 31/10/2020 15:42

Yes @GreenApplesYo - this is also me 😄😄 I need to shake it off before steak and wine tonight! Thank you!! No, not another challenge just following CB's plan by doing a deload week and then just normal exercise classes and eating healthily.
Hahaha @AMS19 - i feel you!! My bf's breathing and eating is making me so angry 🤣 He understands now not to get offended in this last two weeks. And thanks re the losing weight. Its so hard now I'm 35! Coming off the pill and lockdown did not help 😄

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 16:13

Haha @PowerOfFlowers I thought I was the only one who gets annoyed at the sound of other people eating. Is it just at your boyfriend? I want to punch people who eat crisps on the train...

AlisonWhite · 31/10/2020 16:29

Hey all, lovely to meet you. I am new here so please bare with me.
I am 35 and have just come off the pill. Waiting for period 1. Had LH strip surge yesterday and a hey back today so think ovulation in progress. Sadly, after lots of dtd my partner has struggled the last few days which is not great timing... has anyone else’s man had moments of non performance during the trying stage? Xxx

PowerOfFlowers · 31/10/2020 16:37

Haha you are definitely not on your own @GreenApplesYo 😄 I've been like this since I was a teenager at ANY crunching / wrappers sound. Its called misophonia I think. Apples and raw carrots on a train / tube are the worst though 😤😤😤
Welcome @AlisonWhite 😀 I'm also 35, but been off the pill for over a year but this is our first month of ttc!

AlisonWhite · 31/10/2020 16:40

Ah goodluck! I hope I will see you here often :) to update xx

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 16:44

Oh me too @GreenApplesYo doss my absolute head it. And loud drinking! Grrrr

@alisonwhite welcome! Most, if not all, of us are in our 30s and early to trying! I was really worried about my husband feeling the pressure so didn't tell him I was ovulated until after. He was like "oh what, I thought you were just horny" haha no mate, using and abusing you 😂😂😂

@PowerOfFlowers enjoy steak night hun!!

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 17:03

Hey @AlisonWhite welcome 🙂I am 35 too. Umm well he didn't get completely put off, but he did admit he was feeling some pressure. I think it's probably quite common and is very understandable. Has your partner been able to ejaculate? 🙂Haha sorry personal question maybe. I wonder if it gets easier after month 1. Great you're ovulating so soon!

Oh so glad I'm not the only one who gets really irritated! I think I first noticed it as a teen too, getting pissed off with my sister for eating toast with her mouth open.

AMS19 · 31/10/2020 17:12

@GreenApplesYo @alisonwhite this is WAY TMI...but the last time we DTD,after 7 times in 5 days...I had to "finish the job" with my hands and jump on last time minute in order not to waste it 😂😂😂😂

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 17:21

@AMS19 hahaha hilarious! No sperm shall be wasted! Mine is usually attentive, but the time we knew I was ovulating he just kinda er... Pumped away. Afterwards he said sorry he'd had to do his own thing (which I was totally fine with of course)

AlisonWhite · 31/10/2020 18:18

Thanks guys... we managed to do it 6 times but every other day but then he has had trouble ‘getting excited’ the last few which unfortunately is when I am ovulating. He doesn’t know this as I don’t tell him when as not to add too much pressure... maybe we did it too much too early :( xxx

GreenApplesYo · 31/10/2020 18:59

@AlisonWhite I'm dreadful at this kind of thing haha but I wonder if you could do something first to help him relax/get him going? E.g could you take a shower together or give him a massage? If you aren't doing stuff like that already. But yeh if this is an issue you could concentrate on DTD on the few days before ovulation... DP and I had sex 4, 2 and 1 days before ovulation. I was away overnight the day I ovulated. I got a positive FRER at 9dpo so you don't necessarily have to be having an absolute shag fest for it to work.

CardioQueen · 31/10/2020 22:55

@PowerOfFlowers such amazing weight loss, well done you.

@AlisonWhite welcome! I think it’s probably quite normal. Even my DP has felt like it’s the most organised sex ever and taken a little while to get going and despite being 38 we always joke about him still being 18 down there! Agree with what @GreenApplesYo said though - it’s more about timing it right than doing it constantly, that might make it a bit easier?

AlisonWhite · 31/10/2020 23:03

Thank you. Will update soon xxx

AMS19 · 01/11/2020 06:55

Morning ladies. My body played cruel tricks on me last night. I had one large and one small glass of wine. Was totally sober and usually drink loads more (sober to the point I cooked dinner and cut my brothers hair after). And I felt horrific! So sick it was awful. I had to go into bed at 8pm and was fast asleep with a bucket next to me. I know this is all in my head, but the fact it is giving my psychological impacts is so frustrating! I was going to have another drink today but am not sure I can handle it. What is more frustrating is because I dont think or think I am pregnant, I had made the decision to drink, and my body is not letting me 😂😂😂

GreenApplesYo · 01/11/2020 09:29

Oh no! How are you feeling this morning? Hope you're not feeling sick any more. No way to tell yet of course if it's to do with TTC, but it would be great if it is! 🙂

Here's yesterday evening's FRER. I'm happy with that line. I'm 12dpo now.

In other news, I'm not going to work tomorrow after all. Waiting to hear if I'll remain on furlough. Argh stupid covid.

TTC cycle 1 (just come off pill) for #1
AMS19 · 01/11/2020 09:53

Oh wow @GreenApplesYo fab line progression!! Really great.

I'm feeling hungover. But I genuinely wasn't drunk and drunk hardly anything. Weird!

Ahh that is a bummer about work. But so good they extended the furlough scheme so at least you have no money worries 🙂 im in tier 2 so doesn't really effect me. Was weird saying to my mum and brother "see you at xmas" but now Xmas is officially next month, it doesn't feel too long away!
